Too expensive for the kind of food. Bland, better a breakfast in fast food. But worst the ever was the SERVICE . HORRIBLE unprofessional, young waiters with no interest in what they do. Serving plates as serving pets. No smiling, food arriving in different timing. Unbelievable I don’t suggest AT ALL.

Worst service I have ever had, anywhere in the UK. Has gone massively downhill since opening. Waiting staff both behaved as if they were completely blind, couldn't get service even when waving and jumping up and down. Drinks order repeatedly forgotten; needed to ask for everything multiple times - despite being a very early sitting when the place was almost empty. Worst restaurant staff I have ever come across. I remember when this place opened it was great but it's gone massively downhill, even the food is now average at best when it used to be much better and reliable. RIP riding house.

Amazing breakfast, beautiful space and lovely manager and waiters. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area!

My inaugural visit to Riding House Bloomsbury left me utterly enchanted. Marking the birthdays of both my mother and son, the experience was nothing short of magical. From the impeccable service to the delectable cuisine, every aspect of our dining affair was a testament to excellence. The sea bass, cooked to absolute perfection, and the succulent 500g steak were highlights of the culinary journey. Accompanied by the delightful sweet potatoes adorned with horseradish sauce, each bite was a symphony of flavors. A special mention goes to the Mac n cheese with lobster—a dish that transcended expectations and left an indelible mark on my palate. Beyond the culinary delights, the warmth and hospitality exhibited by the staff added an extra layer of enjoyment to the evening. Their kindness and friendliness were truly commendable, creating an inviting atmosphere that elevated the entire experience. Noteworthy, too, was the impeccable cleanliness of the premises, a testament to the establishment’s commitment to excellence in all aspects of service. In summation, my time at Riding House Bloomsbury was a truly memorable one, and I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to relive it on my next visit to London.

Wir waren zweimal im Riding House, aber jeweils nur auf ein oder zwei Bier. Gleich links vom Eingang sind wir entspannt gesessen und freundlich von Anna bedient worden. Von unfreundlichen Mitarbeitern können wir somit nicht berichten.

Irritated manager stared at us until I said we’re here for breakfast. And he lead us to a table and walked off. Waiter was no better. Won’t return again.

Breakfast served cold and when we refused to pay the 15% tip, the waiter started to argue with us . If it wasnt bad enough to be served a cold breakfast to then have the waiter debate about the service was incredible. Doubly disappointed by the fact we had sent in an email with feedback to prevent public shaming and haven't even had the courtesy of a response ! Being a regular customer of the restaurant in central london which is excellent, this was very shocking !

Poor value for money. Very expensive. No warning that the Sea Bream would be served with the head still on it. Very boney. Average service then added £13 service charge. No chance.

Terrible service. My drinks were 20 mins late and when I asked for it the waiter made a face and was rude. I heard the staffs are rude there and it's so true. never will go there. Destroyed my evening and my friends were very upset too.

Excellent menu, freshly-cooked good quality food and bevs, charming and welcoming staff on our first visit (a Monday), who need to give some hospitality training to the staff who we met on two subsequent visits.

Stumbled on this for lunch, so glad we did. Lovely restaurant, design & ambience inside. Great service. I had the sweet potato fritters which were delicious and hubby had the burger which he loved, the chips were the best we’ve had in years, possibly double/ triple cooked - yum! Only small gripe was that the chips weren’t included in the price of the burger - who has burger without chips?!! Will definitely return when in the area.

Had a pleasant dinner here sitting outside in the courtyard on a warm autumn night. Ordered and enjoyed delicious seafood pasta, in which the usual tomato sauce was replaced by a tasty crab bisque. Pasta served properly al dente, with clams, shrimp, and small chunks of cod, topped with a large prawn. I especially liked the portion size, which was perfect: adequate, not overwhelmingly large. Followed up with gelato for dessert. Excellent service from an enthusiastic and attentive young waitperson.

Went here for dinner with friends and everything was top notch. The food and wine were amazing but the highlight of the evening was the staff. Can't wait to come back to try some more of the wines, maybe after enjoying a few cheeky cocktails from the aperitivo hour

Mohammed served us and was lovely, super attentive and polite, as well as the rest of the staff. Food and drinks were delicious, would definitely be back.

We've long been enthusiasts for Riding House, which offered eccentric but interesting dishes for a moderate price. The new menu is much more conventional, and offers a poorer choice mid-range food at significantly higher cost. Part of that is increased mark-up on drinks, but our recent meal was about 40% more expensive than meals in the first half of 2023. Choice was poor -- there was no chicken available by 19:30. Riding House will no longer be our default venue when we don't feel like cooking.
