Belgo Bar & Restaurant in Camden

At first i was sceptical about this place, but gave it a try and didnt dissapoint a single bit. One of the best customer service in London, staff was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. I will come back here the next time i stay in London for sure, fully recommend at least trying it out.

Unfortunately the food here is not as it was before our last visit before Covid. The menu choice is very limited, so much so that I opted for the burger for main (with a slice of cheese) and the vegetable samosa as a starter. I requested no tomato relish on the burger and no tomato salsa with the samosas (which the server came back and checked with me ). The samosa came with the dip (which was no great tragedy, as it came in a pot so I just didn’t eat it. The samosas tasted fine and were hot. The burger arrived with the cheese and tomato relish (which I had specified I didn’t want) inside it, so I pointed this out and asked for a new burger. That arrived very quickly and when I opened that found that all they’d done was scrape the relish off the bun (I could still see the remnants of it!). I went to the counter, waited to be seen and explained that when I’d asked for a new burger I didn’t expect them to just scrape the relish off and I’d like a fresh burger and bun. This was then taken away and I went back to my table, where my husband was eating his salmon (which he said was fine but it wasn’t anything special and it tasted as if he’d cooked himself!). By the time my burger arrived (without the relish and without the cheese slice and the chunky chips were replaced with warm skinny fries), my husband had finished his meal. I ate a few mouthfuls of the burger but it definitely wasn’t worth the wait. As we left the server apologised profusely for the issues (he was really sweet). The next night was our anniversary and we had originally planned to eat in the restaurant but after the previous evening’s meal, we thought better of it. On the positive side, the breakfast was nice on both mornings (on the first morning the server from the previous night remembered us and apologised again )but not sure we’ll go again after this experience.

Bello il locale, grande e spazioso, personale accogliente e attento. Hanno un menù bimbi completo a costo contenuto e disponibilità di fogli e colori per intrattenerli.. comodissimo per chi alloggia in hotel Crowne.. piatti buoni e abbondanti

Arrived for a meal on the 3rd February. Tried to order half a chicken but didn’t have any despite it being a signature dish. Ordered 1 burger as off the menu, 1 bean burger and 1 burger with only cheese and bacon. Clearly there was confusion between the waiting staff and the kitchen as when our 3 burgers were ready we watched a chef come over take a burger and rinse it under a tap - we couldn’t believe what we were seeing. The burger was then put under the grill again and served to us 3-4 minutes later. Unsurprisingly not only was the burger cold but raw in the middle and completely inedible. We complained and was told it wasn’t our burger but we physically saw what happened. Shocking disregard for food hygiene with little care and attention. Awful experience and never again!!!!

Booked a table for 12 we were with Children who were hungry, we were told that they were hoovering and to wait next door, even though it was 12.15 we waited then asked if we could atleast sit on one of the tables that had been cleaned already, staff were rude, didn’t apologise and basically said it was our fault for booking early. Eventually they managed to pull a coup of tables together with huffing and sighing. Awful experience so upset with the attitude we left. Had to try to find somewhere else to eat as it changed the whole mood of the group of us and it such a downer on our day.

We’ve been there several times now and thus far have never been disappointed. The food is excellent, the beer - great selection and pretty potent if you’re not used to Belgian beers. The staff - especially Tzouliano - are great, they make you feel welcome, know when to just ‘let you eat’ and never leave you waiting. Yesterday, we actually took all their names, to thank them for their service. So, thank you Deividas, Edgaras, Baki, Elisabetha, Andrea, Dominik and Cletson. We’ll be back soon!

Just came here for lunch with my colleagues. We have been here before and service was a tad slow considering on both visits even though there weren't any other customers. They offer a very good lunch menu for £9.99 for two courses. I ordered the chicken wings and the mussels. To my surprise I had 8 wings. For a lunch menu I thought it would have been 4 at most so I was very happy and so was my belly; very tasty. The pot of mussels came with fries and was really good. Most of us ordered from the lunch menu with one colleague ordering the chicken burger from the main menu which he said was really good. We will definitely be back for lunch again.

Dormant à l’hôtel Crown Plaza King Cross, nous avons diné par souci de simplicité dans ce restaurant attenant à l’hôtel. Une carte de différents plats belges (ou assimilés). On y découvre un improbable burger surmonté de gratin de macaronis au fromage (voir photo). Ça se mange, c’est pas à tomber par terre mais ça va. Mais ce qui dérange le plus n’est pas dans l’assiette mais autour. Le restaurant a fait le choix d’une cuisine ouverte, visible pour les clients depuis leur table. Cela permet de constater des choses surprenantes : - le chef de cuisine fait tomber sa pince à viande par terre. Ça arrive. Par contre, premier réflexe normal en cuisine : on la lave. Et bien non ! Là, il l’a ramassé et dans la foulée retourne avec les steaks et le pavé de saumon en train de cuire. - les employés de cuisine semblent avoir des petits creux. Je les ai vu à de très nombreuses reprises se servir, à mains nues, dans les bols en inox où se trouvaient des frites. Ces mêmes frites atterrissaient ensuite dans les assiettes servies aux clients ! J’ose espérer que pour bosser en cuisine ils ont tous les mains propres. Mais au delà de ça, le geste, répété par de nombreux employés différents, me choque quelque peu. Quant au service, on fait le minimum. Le sourire a du rester cuisine... On nous a débarrassé les assiettes. 20 minutes plus tard toujours rien. Nous sommes donc obligés d’apostropher un serveur pour commander des desserts (enfin, pour déjà avoir la carte des desserts). Afin d’être transparent dans cet avis, j’ai partagé ces remarques et autres étonnements avec le superviseur. Il m’a assuré en prendre bonne note, s’est excusé, et nous offert les desserts en geste commercial.

I'm a big fan of Belgium beer and the Belgo did not let me down. Over a couple of nights I tried some new ones including Bush which I didn't know existed (strongest Belgian beer apparently). We also had one meal there (the other night was full of overseas tourists, which is the only downside if your visit coincides): Liege meatballs and a lamb dish. Both were excellent and full of flavour. The waffles are large for dessert but tasted great too. The staff were really friendly and introduced me to beers I hadn't had before. Just as well there isn't one near me as I'd fear for my wasteline...

Åt goda musslor och chokladfondue till efterrätt. Kan rekommenderas. Miljön var som en typisk hotellrestaurang och servicen helt ok.

What's the one thing you expect to be on the menu when visiting a Belgian restaurant? Moules Frittes. Guess what they didn't have? The same. We instead had a steak and seafood pasta. The seafood pasta contained moules. The sauce was ok but bland. The seafood was well cooked, the squid not rubbery at all. Steak was cooked as requested. Would I go back? No, was ok but not worth returning to.

Stayed at Crown Plaza Hotel, Kings Cross and visited the ‘in-hotel’ restaurant ( Belgos ) for lunch. Sadly, it ranks as one of the worst experiences for food quality and customer service. The food was tasteless and mass produced, nothing fresh and nothing like the Belgo brand of old. Complained and waitress did nothing, asked for manager who apologised and reduced the bill however we would recommend avoiding this restaurant at all cost until they completely overhaul their products.

Lovely dark and an exclusive themed restaurant. I had asked as a last minute thing before arriving whether I could use my tastecard on the day. Owner was extremely polite and friendly and said of course. Came here with my partner and the food was really good, especially for the price you pay with a tastecard. Very filling and overall really good food. I recommend this place if you are passing and are looking for somewhere that is fair in price whilst maintaining a good quality standard of tasty food.

We didn't have a meal here so can't comment on dinner. The beers are fabulous and breakfast pretty good. Breakfast was a little 'squashed' and they seemed a bit slow to replenish things that had run out, but both will be impacted by limited space!

We have always liked this chain and were delighted to see this new one. However, the food was awful, tasteless muscles, poor frites and stale bread. The staff were pleasant. Plus a long walk and two lifts to a disability access toilet!!!!
