Norfolk Arms in Camden

There were 7 of us looking for a suitable restaurant. We found the Norfolk Arms in a quiet side street. Friendly conditions, good cuisine, surprising and refreshing. Unfortunately a little accurate in the closing.

Nice pub tucked out the way, was busy at 10pm on a week night

Had a meal nearby and popped in here for a drink after. I like this area, great traditional pubs and all seem to have great customer service - this is the case here! I've added it to my "must do" list on next weekend visit!

Really lovely tapas. The female member of staff with the glasses was rude and incredibly unfriendly, making my friend and I feel like we were an annoyance to her Didn't smile once, looked miserable and at one point even said "ask him" and pointed to her colleague. Incredibly impolite. Shame as the other staff members were lovely. Overall would recommend based on the food and reasonable prices, for London.

I took a friend for dinner here recently, he’s managed pubs, bars and delis. He looked at the menu and said “no way they can make all of this here”. But they do ( they even bake their own bread, daily). One side of the menu holds a full list of tapas, the other a mix of Mediterranean and modern English starters, mains and desserts. All are excellent, there are reasonably priced and intelligently chosen wines, beers bottled, on taps and pumps. By the time we finished our meal my friend said “okay, I take it all back”, and has been pestering me to return! If you aren’t near the Norfolk, try their sister pub, The Queens Head and Artichoke, a stone’s throw from Gt Portland St Station. The decor and atmosphere is different, but equally great. The menu is slightly different also, but just as tempting. The finest two pubs I know to enjoy superb food, service and ambience. Go on, visit!

This pub has a truly killer atmosphere. No other comments... I will definitely visit again if I go to London again. Oh well, I didn't take a picture, damn it.

Sam S is right, this is a gem! I brought a publican friend of mine here who said ““they can’t make all this here” , on reading the menu. But they do, a great selection of tapas on one side of the menu, and a fine mix of Mediterranean and modern English dishes on the other. Always fish, vegetarian and gluten free options, well priced and interesting wines, beers on pump and tap. The staff are welcoming and friendly, always happy to advise, the Norfolk even bakes its own bread. My publican friend keeps asking me when we can dine there again, what more can I say! Also, check out their sister pub, The Queens Head and Artichoke, very near Gt Portland Street Station. It’s a different atmosphere and decor, different menu, and just as worthy of a visit!

Un pub sympathique, avec une note végétale dans la déco qui apporte beaucoup. Les tapas sont très bonnes, par contre c'est dommage qu'ils ne nous aient pas averti en arrivant que la cuisine allait bientot fermer car nous avons du commander rapidement le reste des plats et n'avons pas pu en reprendre ensuite. Service assez inégal avec une personne très sympathique et la seconde peu aimable.

I tend to find gastropubs a bit hit 'n miss but this place definitely didn't disappoint. A beautiful old pub with a great atmosphere and top quality tapas. Good value too and generous portions. Make sure you book ahead as we went on a Thursday evening and it was full to the rafters!

To Debora and all Your Team at the Norfolk Arms, I can’t thank you enough for making my husband’s surprise birthday dinner such a special night. We’d eaten with you before so had a good idea what to expect however I was blown away by the standard and quality of the food on the night, no mean feat for a 3-course dinner for 30 people we just had the best night. The Norfolk Arms is such a brilliant place, great atmosphere, delicious food, wine and fantastic service couldn’t ask for more!

The staff acted like we’d inconvenienced them asking for another chair to sit our party and weren’t welcoming at all when we arrived. Plenty of lovely similar venues nearby, would avoid this place like the plague!

Very poor cuz as I came in ask for one table & I waited over half an hour & yet 3 people came in & within 5 mins they got a table & I ask the waitress why I spend 30 mins waiting & yet 3 people got the table, all she said it the boss 😳, I just left & went across the road fish & chips restaurant & they been brilliant service

Fantastic food! Best risotto I have ever had in a pub... Staff was lovely. Very good suprise! It's a shame I couldn't stay for dessert (running to the theatre), otherwise I would have loved to have one! I recommend.

Visited just after Xmas and it was heaving. A last minute booked and was well looked after by the hardworking crew. Food and wine amazing as ever!

Lovely little restaurant/pub - they have a Spanish-inspired menu, which was fairly extensive. Prices were very reasonable for London and service was much quicker than you'd normally get. Will happily go back again.

This establishment is around the corner from my son’s digs so naturally we tried it out. A gastropub specialising in Spanish tapas. I enjoyed their olives as nibbles which were properly stored in a clay container to retain it’s freshness. The tapas was tasty. The serving staff were pleasant. The overall experience felt okay. The pub connotation let it down as we are not ordinarily pub goers.

Super atmosphere and service in this local neighbourhood gem. Wholesome, generous well cooked mediteranian and spanish tapas, with great wine list. Octopus was so good! very buzy but not overly loud on the friday eve we visted. Dinner for two plus bottle of wine was reasonable we found, given central location. Looking to return soon. Great time.

It is disappointing honestly although portions are reasonably big.

Terrible atmosphere and service. Smile guys!!!! It is for free. And no, we are not obliged to buy food if we don't want to!!! So treat all customers equally

Really nice pub with small plates of tapas but also little meze type of things...the sausage (I forgot the name of it) was amazing, the artichoke hearts could've Dundee with a little more "something" i.e. was a bit blend... I also had a normal dinner there before, which was good... I'll be back!!

The food was absolutely 5 star. To be clear, this is not a pub, it is a tapas restaurant in a pub. We had tapas, mostly vegetarian, and they were exceptional. Each dish was sincere and full of subtle flavors. The kitchen moved quickly. The wine was decent. I am, however, shaving one star due to the ambience which was crowded, noisy and a bit shabby.

This pub has tapas, which were very nice. They also had Sunday roast, which was fine. They had a small selection of draughts, but that included some microbrews, so good enough for me. Service was OK - they were clearly overworked and rushing around as the place was jammed. Service got better when it settled down a bit. You should certainly check it out if you have had your fill of normal pub food. The tapas menu is large and seemed very good.

I’m not sure that “modern English small plates” as described in Google maps is a good or accurate description. Call it what it really is: “incredibly good tapas”! Don’t be shy! And the service was awesome too! I’m from the US and would’ve never expected such great tapas from what (to me) looked like a traditional English pub.

The tapas was very good, and fairly priced. But the service was awful. The wait staff lounged around with looks on their faces like having customers was a major imposition on their evening. It took 20 minutes for them to take our order. Food did arrive promptly, but the table remained uncleared at the end of the meal until I called for the bill. The bill included a service charge.......

Great food, great service, will return for the Tapas but the linguini with sea food was amazing 😋

Excellent food, friendly efficient service, and plenty of space around us on a Saturday evening so noise levels weren't too high and conversation was easy. I was with two vegetarians so we stuck to the vegetarian options on the tapas menu, everything was great and there was plenty of choice. I would definitely go back and based on my visit this place deserves a much higher rating than it currently has.

Smart pub style restaurant, nicely presented with super friendly staff. Tapas style menu we totally overordered, but the food was extremely good. Definitely worth taking a look. Nice to sit both inside and outside (the streets aren't too busy)

Excellent little pub serving excellent tapas. Friendly staff and tucked away on an unassuming street with very few tourists. Even had a high chair for our little one

The tapas were great although a few of our choices were unavailable. The service however was very poor. Perhaps short staffed but it would have been nice to have seen a smile! When I complained about the wait to pay I was told she was serving other customers. She then put an incorrect amount on one card and had to wait for the manager but didn't know where they were. Such a shame as the service hadn’t been an issue in the past.

The quality of the food and service was beyond expectations. Some romance here. Loved the blue cheese, walnuts & honey on toast. Very good Sunday roast.

We love this place. We regularly meet friends and family in the King’s Cross area and it’s so handy. Great tapas and a lovely atmosphere and good service. Prices are reasonable and good wine choices.

We had the traditional Sunday Roast meal here and it was great. My wife had the pork meal while I have the beef and we shared. I believe the pork was better, more flavorful. Highly recommend for Sunday Roast.

Here food comes first, a large selection of Tapas plates, all well served and tasted delicious, the aromas floating around the pub were delightful. Every table was taken and that was on a Tuesday, good to make a reservation a few days ahead. The staff were warm and effortlessly efficient.

We had a great experience with both service and food in april 2022 and sent back since we were in the neigbourhood today - so disapointed The food was tasteless and over or undercooked- ordered the Lamb and Rojones tapas together with dates stuffen with goateschees and the blir spanish cheese bruchettas - the two later ones was good as well as their home baked bread, though oliveoil and salt would be nice instead of butter with it. Unfortunately we found the service slow and unattentive despoter a skor monday early evening - arriverat around 7:30 pm No one asked us if we wanted refill of our drinks and we had to ask for both refill and water After ordering just drinks when they picked up our plates with leftovers no question of everything was ok , if we wanted anything else we also Aspedalsvägen for paying- took a while to get the bill and still no question if we were happy with the food or wanted anything else. Last time in april 2022 so different - very attentive staff, the food was great and we where all happy. No further rekommendations from us - sorry

Nice menu, the food is nice, tasted the seabass and the goulash. The staff is OK, a bit noisy ..so not good for conversation.

Group booking for 6, lovely tapas, bit slow service. Was all set to rave about it and recommend to friends/colleagues (we work near by) but unfortunately the staff pandered to one customer next to us who clearly thought our party (of 3 by then) were too loud and we were told to quieten down by the staff. At 8pm ... In a pub ... Not sure we'll be back.

The Norfolk Arms in Bloomsbury, London is an old pub offering a large menu of meals and tapas. There is also a large drinks menu too. It gets very busy, so booking for a meal is recommended. The food when ordered arrived quite quickly and was tasty and well cooked. The Norfolk Arms can be quite noisy, but it is worth a visit. The toilets too are immaculately clean.

Nice food. Not expensive. Bbq short ribs were good.

Probably the most unfriendly pubs I've ever been in. Only popped in for a quick drink at 5pm, the place was almost empty and although tables were booked from 6pm they wouldn't let us use them as they had set them for dinner already. Perhaps if the staff sitting down taking up space eating their dinner moved elsewhere there would be room. The staff were rude and unfriendly, why work in a service tole if you clearly don't like helping customers. I won't bother trying here again, there are so many better places nearby where the welcome is friendly

Was going to Bloomsbury theatre & a friend recommended here . Lovely friendly staff . Great for pre theatre tapas & nibbles . Will come again if in the area !

Really nice gastro conversion of amazing authentic pub building

I’m so surprised this place doesn’t have a higher rating, because it is a real gem, and I’ve never not been satisfied when I’ve visited in the past. This time round I went with my husband and best friend and we had an assortment of tapas. Everything was delicious, but particular highlights were the meatballs, croquettes, feta and spinach pie and tzatziki - ok basically everything... I’ve been to a number of different tapas restaurants in the last few months and this was by far the best. The atmosphere is great too, and the service was spot on. I’d definitely come back - and next time I’d like to try the desserts. Would thoroughly recommend!

Often been here with my friend Eric, from UCL. Always great Tapas, and good beers and wines. Glad it survived the pandemic. Happy to recommend and return!

Excellent tapas. Crowded inside and outside tables midweek, justifyably so as food was excellent. Imaginative variety of tapas ideal for sharing. Good location just 5 minutes' walk from King's Cross, Euston and St.Pancras stations.

Ten minutes walk from Kings Cross, worth the short detour. Excellent range and quality of tapas, something for everyone. Casual, cosy environment, friendly service. Good value given the location. Sagres on draft a bonus!

Way above the average food for a pub with a good selection of beers.

We booked a table for a birthday and when asking if they had a fridge to put the cake on the phone they said there is a £15 charge! It was too late to rebook so we paid it. They wouldn't even let us put the cake in the fridge either after paying.... We work around the corner but none of us will be going back. None of the other pubs around would charge, but they were all full when we found this out.

I try and come here whenever I make a trip into London. The food is so good, it’s a really great place to spend an hour or two eating and drinking and relaxing. Highly recommended.

Fantastic Sunday roast - loads of beef

Delicious tapas and lovely people!

We shared such a good meal here yesterday, the food was incredible and I would highly recommend this hidden gem. From the outside I wasn't sure, but it really is worth heading indoors and trying their amazing tapas menu.

Walking around trying to find some late food when we spotted the Norfolk Arms. Accomodating, friendly and efficient. The Tapas style food was lovely - thank you.

Nos quedamos en Londres por algunas noches para ir al teatro y nos quedamos a poca distancia de este pub.El edificio se ve muy bien, tanto en el exterior como en el interior, así que pensamos en entrar.El personal fue inútil y claramente desinteresado - no había mesas disponibles, así que no pudimos comer aunque pudimos tener una mesa durante veinte minutos para tomar una copa. El servicio del bar era lento, por lo que solo tuvimos muy poco tiempo para intentar disfrutar de nuestras bebidas.Ciertamente no pienses volver a este.

Habíamos reservado pero, debido a covid / recesión / gente que trabajaba desde casa, teníamos el lugar prácticamente para nosotros solos.Disfrutamos mucho de los pequeños platos de pan, aceitunas, patatas bravas y bolitas de queso. Buen café también.El servicio fue muy bueno y atento. Un pub tan encantador, excelente comida, excelente personal. . . . . . Sin duda volveremos a visitar si estamos en la zona.

The Arms is a very popular pub. Although bookings are often needed, the staff found us a table. We greatly appreciated their efforts.

Another atmospheric pub close to Euston Road and the 3 stations. Mix a flavour of Portugal along with decent real ales. A grand selection of wines too, except my better half prefers a wine glass not a tumbler...

We were pleasantly surprised at the excellent quality of food. Everything tasted thoughtfully prepared. The bread was homemade and hearty, the beef and Yorkshire pudding was an excellent amount of food without being overly large, and the salmon (perfectly grilled, not over cooked) was served over a full-flavored chickpea stew that was as long on taste as it was filling. The location is a fun, old pub, and the staff showed interest in good service without bombarding us, making the overall experience wonderful. A good choice for a tasty meal.

This is a food orientated pub, with nice interior but still serving proper draught ales from the bar. Not really a pub just for drinks, and better for it. The food is good quality and well priced. Highly recommended

I visited the place with colleagues last week. The atmosphere is nice and the staff pleasant and helpful. We had a Christmas meal here and I thought looking at the menu there would be enough choice for a vegetarian. I was disappointed though to find according to staff that none of the options containing cheese were vegetarian. Very disappointing and somewhat strange in the modern era with so many place catering better for both vegetarians and vegans. I also thought the food was a bit expensive considering some of the portions were rather small for the price, although the food was nice. The menu lacks adequate descriptions too so I had to ask for each dish I was interested in as there was a lack of information as to what was veggie or vegan - poor show. Overall I would say it is a nice place, but given the limited choice and cost I wouldn't return.

Mi esposa y yo hemos comido aquí probablemente 30 veces en los últimos 4 años. Had Xmas Dinner with the family, sorry to say it was like warm 😒

I have been coming here for years with friends family and business colleagues and have always found the experience fabulous. I’ve recommended it to very many people. Tonight that changed. It was dreadful. As a family we booked to celebrate one of my sons birthdays (spending over £400) and alas received some of the worse treatment ever experienced when eating out. There are too many examples of apathetic, sloppy and highly unprofessional service to list, but suffice to say that when we asked to remove the discretionary service charge we were told that as customers we were in the wrong and that there was nothing amiss with the service. This from an aggressive and wholly inappropriate man who said he was the manager. He did not ask why we felt this way, but he wouldn’t have cared if we’d been able to tell him. The food was average tonight - nothing special - and arrived in a very sporadic manner, if at all. Absolutely dreadful experience, shocking staff attitude and I’ll now be telling my contacts to avoid at all costs. There are so many better places to spend your money in Kings Cross where you’ll be treated with respect and where the customer is valued. Avoid.

Met up with a my aunty for a quiet dinner, was seated at a lovley marble table next the fire place, really good rose wine, dips all home made and fresh pita bread, delicious, every bite, morcila was amazing, the mussels fresh, service warm and welcoming, what a great place

Not the cheapest place family friendly

It's a really interesting old pub both externally and internally - worth a visit for that. Tasty tapas dishes with plenty of vegi options. Drinks were a little expensive. 4 tapas were £24, add the cheapest bottle of house red (very good) and two coffees - total bill came in at £60. Service was included in the bill which I dont like. Service was good but Monday lunchtime wasnt very busy. Toilets were clean and fresh. I will go again - usually I dont.

Near St. Pancras International this friendly restaurant feature a long list of tapas. Try the lamb skewers and the chicken wings. The soup is also excellent as are the ales on tap.

Nice interiors but over priced food

OK it looks like a pub, has a bar but is a tapas kinda place. Sunday lunch of roast beef served as a tapas just doesn't work. Mean portions when it comes to the meat served in a watery, tasteless gravy. The other in the family had other dishes and they were uninspiring and the kitchen lacked expertise and passion. If you want ordinary then this is the place albeit and expensive option.

The first and the last time. Seriously please avoid this place, not sure to call it pub.

Nice enough pub, but didn’t have a ground floor loo. I was busting and asked, but was directed downstairs. I said I couldn’t do stairs and waited for a response but there wasn’t one. I couldn’t see a disabled toilet either (I hold a RADAR key). Very unusual these days.

I would certainly be a regular at this pub restaurant if I lived closer or was in London more frequently.. Great range of well prepared and tasty food. Good for veggies and fish eaters as well as full blown teeth gnashing carnivores (of which I am not one).

Have been there on many occasions over the past 2 years, mainly on Friday evenings with friends. The food (tapas menu) has been tasty most of the time. However, they have increased their prices (drinks have always been pretty pricey) and reduced their portions massively and on our last 2 visits we thought our bill was ridiculously expensive. Too bad, we will not be returning.

Just been charged £6.20 for a pint of Guinness. That's higher than West end prices and the most I have ever spent on a pint!

We had a warm welcome and were able to take advantage of someone who did not take up a reserservation -great for us.Been before and now much busier with a good selection of tapasa and reasonable-for London.Degfinitely on the list for a revisit !!

Two couples, after an evening meal out, dropped in at 10.30pm for a final chat and last drink. Sad that we were greeted with 'We close at 11.00', and an almost not wanting to serve you attitude. The pub itself was quite quiet, and so we found seats easily enough and were chatting away at about 10.50pm when staff suddenly started to stack chairs on tables all round us. We felt pressured to leave and did.

The location is on a quiet corner in the Bloomsbury area and seating is available inside or outside. The tapas are very tasty and reasonably priced. We ordered a Spanish Tortilla and Patatas Bravas. Both were delicious!!!!

We stumbled onto the Norfolk Arms while out for a morning walk. It was closed for business, but we were still able to go in and check out the menu for dining that night. The restaurant is beautiful. In fact, it was tile on the outside that attracted my attention before I even realized we were at a restaurant. The Norfolk Arms is more restaurant than pub, and decidedly modern in its menu. Items on the menu included tapas as well as complete dinners, and were not the usual pub fare like fish and chips, etc. I ordered the patatas bravas, which were delicious. The restaurant is bright and cheery, but got very noisy as the evening wore on and more customers arrived. We might have lingered a little longer, but the noise got to us after a while.

I know you get trendy pubs that like to make themselves look deliberately distressed and oldy-woldy but first impressions when walking inside this place is that it truly does look like it's dirty and falling apart and just running under the guise of being a deliberate distress.

On the evening of a very very hot Saturday we arrived early for our booking and were welcomed by professional relaxed friendly staff. We chose to sit at a pleasant table outside, but the inside did look inviting. They do not start serving food until 6.00 pm. They brought the paper menus out so we could be looking beforehand. After we ordered, the drinks & food came out quickly. We could choose between oysters, main courses & tapas. All the food was well presented and very well cooked & tasty. We chose this place off the internet cause we wanted somewhere in Bloomsbury between St Pancras & Russell Square. It was an oasis of calm after a long day.
