Lovely pub with terrace overlooking the river. Never fails to impress me.

Hadn't been here for 25 years and it felt just the same. Great beer and great atmosphere.

We were walking down by the river and could hear the music pulsating out of The Ribs of Beef. Went in for quick pint and stayed for the evening as the music was really good and LIVE. Norwich seems to promote live music, which is really great entertainment !

Beautiful building in an excellent location. Huge drink selection, friendly bartenders, and the pizza was good too.

Haven't eaten here as yet so can't comment on the food but the staff and service at this pub is top notch! Staff are always attentive and often come to the table to ask if you would like more drinks!! Really brilliant pub, would highly recommend!

Strange name given the only food they sold when I was there was pizza, unfortunately one of our number doesn't eat pizza so we went elsewhere, but sitting by the river (downstairs at the back) was lovely with a few beers

Wonderful friendly staff at a great location.

Pizza and punting was a great corporate event. The river was lovely, staff were friendly and the pizzas (including gluten free and vegan cheese options!) had that wonderful home cooked charm. The pub itself was full of charm, character and warmth. A great visit.

Can here on a busy sunny Sunday ,although it was about 4pm . Had one of the best pizza's I've ever had ,as did my niece and a nice pint of cider . There are 2 outdoor spaces , the one directly next to the river was packed ,so sat outside on the canal path outside area. Staff were very friendly and customers looked like they were all enjoying themselves. Will definitely return .

We had a reservation at the Ribs of Beef as part of the ‘Pub, Paddle and Pizza’ experience which is run by the adjacent ‘Pub and Paddle’ business. Upon arrival we ordered drinks and were directed to our reserved table. We were able to order our pizza options directly with the pop-up kitchen. They were extremely helpful and able to accommodate all of our various dietary requirements and allergies. A great menu with plenty of vegan and vegetarian options, we all enjoyed our pizzas and would definitely eat here again!

charged me £4.20 for a pint of coke. I presume it was in error because that seems extortionate

Excellent place nice people and most wonderful beers.

Great beer and friendly staff. We sat in the basement and the pub provided an "order at the table service". We didn't need to leave our seats to get merry.

Awful place with rude staff. The toilets were disgusting and my glass was not clean. The lady on the bar didn't want to know.

Offering eight real ales, this comfortable pub overlooking the river has a riverside terrace. When we visited there was no food available due to staff shortages but this didn't detract from the warm atmosphere.

Lovely place in general, great selection of beers and lovely setting by the river. Service however was less than accommodating, my friend wasn't satisfied with the quality of her drink and we were expected to pay for a replacement. Not the end of the world, but a bit of class from the establishment in looking after their customers would not go amiss.

First time at this great CAMRA Good Beer Guide 2024 public house located right on the River Wensum by Fye Bridge. We sat inside but there is a seating gallery with sun umbrellas outside directly over the River. The pub has a screen or two for sports but they were not showing anything during our time there. Friendly bar staff and we spoke about how a Stout can be a great drink for any season of the year not just winter! We had two pints and two half pints of the lovely Nutty Ambassador Hazlenut Milk Stout by The Little Critters Brewing Company. The beer is top class and a very reasonable able price indeed. The pub serves alcoholic drinks other than real ale however it is rightly in CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide, with nine hand pumps on offer, and the staff will let you taste and chat about the ales if you are undecided what to have or maybe you are new to ale drinking, making it a welcoming place to have a try. We didn’t eat this time but pizzas and other meals are available. The Pub has an excellent location and it was really enjoyable to watch kayaks, rowing boats and paddle boarders going past. A very chilled, mellow vibe going on Thank you indeed to the Staff and we will return!

Went in Saturday night fairly late, chill atmosphere and not rowdy, decent drink selection, plenty of space.

We went in for a drink & we sat out on the back balcony. Which over looked the river Yare. Lovely sitting out in the sun shine watching the ducks swimming.

Been working locally this week and every night I’ve popped in as was recommended by someone I know through work and I can say that it’s a great pub with a a good atmosphere and the staff are really friendly and welcoming. The owner is happy to chat and I even had table service which is offered to all customers which is a great way to encourage customers. It’s only Wednesday but I’ll be back on Thursday before heading home Friday after working near Gt Yarmouth. You must visit The Ribs of Beef 👍

Lovely silting outside by the river, which I didn't know you could do as it's downstairs. Mate I was with knee, which I didn't on previous few visits. Drank some pineapple cider on tap which was delicious and something I haven't had before. Strong and refreshing.

It is a great Pub, cosy, and the staff are excellent. One of the best in the City.

Walked across Norwich city centre for a pub lunch at the “ribs of beef” to discover that the only food they offer is pizza! What a joke.

we went expecting a good beef lunch - well given the name, one would really. They should be charged under the trade description act ( if that even exists anymore). - it only serves pizza. We didn’t stay.

Got my drinks order slightly wrong, but it's no big issue. Lovely little pub, slightly on the pricier side. Our seats had a lovely view of the river and I got myself a nice 'sour' half pint. Toilets are perfectly adequate, with a nice view of the original brickwork. Popped in for a drink with my adult children, I childishly was banging the table and we got chastised, which would be fine....but the table next to ours was at least twice as loud, not impressed.

Oldest pub in Norwich? Wow, what a find, right by the river with such heritage behind it. It has an outside decking area by the river, which is partly undercover, so you can just sit and watch the boats go by...with a drink...with no other agenda... 15 mins from the station. 5 mins from Norwich centre. So worth a visit.

We stumbled across this little gem after walking down the historic Elm Hill... A little dark alley brought us out onto a wooden balcony right on the River. We had entered via a back door so once inside it was a bit of a maze to find the bar.... Back through up the stairs and a lovely pub built over 2 levels right next to the bridge.... There are also tables outside at the e front of the pub Great choice of drinks Sitting next to the River was just lovely, so peaceful, just perfect
