Best takeaway curry I’ve ever had. The flavours were exceptional fresh ingredients and spices. It’s a long way for me to collect a takeaway but definitely worth it. Would definitely recommend.

Honestly this place is outstanding. The dishes are bursting with flavour. The portions are generous. The price is extremely reasonable. They are really nice, polite, friendly guys too. This place has become a family favourite. We’re tucking into it as I speak. 10/10

Update from a previous review, I’ve changed my 1 star as friend ordered and it was good and speedy. I’ve given them another chance and again arrived quickly and tasty. Much improved would recommend now.

Best Indian takeaway in norwich

Ordered a delivery. The butter paneer (seen below) was lumpy , greasy and looked/tasted off. The vegetable korma had no flavour and lacked vegetables it was mainly grainy sauce. The rice and nann were ok but could not save the disappointing meal :(

Change the recipe drastically. Nothing tastes the same, been ordering here for close to 15-16 years 😔 doubt I’ll go back after today

Beautiful food, the lamb tandoori was incredible. Had a problem with order but they rectified it going above and beyond. Lovely people too. Will use again

2 hour wait for food delivery when we rang up they said driver got lost and went to next drop evening though they had our info Won’t be ordering again

Having twice used it this month we noticed the portion sizes plus meat and chicken content had been reduced (by about 40%) and the flavours in the various dishes less satisfying. On asking at the Counter if the business had changed hands this was answered ‘No’. As a customer of 34yrs standing (known well to and friendly with the founding Owner’s family) I was extremely disappointed not to have been told the truth. I’m afraid I and my family won’t be patronising this place again.

We have been using Lucky Tandoori for many years and the food has always been perfect however this has now changed hands within the last few weeks with different chefs so only the name remains the same .. I have tried a few meals since the changeovers but following my most recent meal, I will not be using this takeaway again. Unlike the previously tasty, high quality food we have been used to for years with the previous staff/chefs, the latest food was bland and dry and not worth the money.

Just went in and asked for lamb tikka dansak. Got given my food. Walked 30mins home. Bloody korma in the bag. Very annoying. Supposed to be Lucky Tandoori, not lucky dip. Food was average.

Still waiting after 90 mins. Confirmation email received at 17.24. It's now 18.54. Unacceptable Food was cold when it did arrive.

Go to Indian, foods always hot and delicious.

Order was an hour late, then they proceeded to have a go at me at the door for not spending enough on my order.

Every time we come here and that’s quite often☺️we are 100% happy with our takeaway.. we usually get the veggie meal deal which is fantastic value with a huge vegetable curry, aloo gobi, rice, poppadoms, naan bread and pickles and onion bhaji… amazing. Completely delicious.. beautifully cooked and really quick too. We wouldn’t go anywhere else to be honest. The staff are very friendly and are happy to swap dishes around to suit your requirements. The best Indian takeaway in Norwich in my opinion, and I’ve tried a few….😁

The food was absolutely fantastic perfectly cooked the meats were tender and juicy bursting with flavour, even down to the side dishes, aloo, poppadoms, chapatis everything we ate was perfection, so good I am ordering again right now :) oh and the gentleman delivering my food was full of smiles polite and very gracious of a tip he clearly wasn't expecting to receive. All round top service.

After popping in with my wife we decided to share a supposed curry that was really a tin of tomatoes heated up. Never have we eaten a curry that contained quarter pieces of whole tomatoes inside it and this was for us a false buy. It also means that it was rubbish and that we will not be going here to get ripped off receiving what we didn't order again.

I’ve only ever been to one Indian (Bangladeshi actually) in Norwich since I arrived three years ago, and it’s Luckys Tandoori. I haven’t tried any others because this one is so good! The best curry I’ve had anywhere ever, and they offer a 15% student discount, I’m a customer for life😀 I cant comment on their delivery service because I’m not so lazy I cant walk 10 minutes down the road, or drive for 2 minutes, you can park right outside, honestly, some people deserve their poppadoms smashing😀

It's a very nice takeaway and is one of my favourites In Norwich, I recommend my friends and family to eat here whenever because I know they won't fail to impress me with their fantastic deals! Great Job Lucky Tandoori Keep it up!

It took a little while for it to come, around an hour, but as always it was yummy. Popadoms are always whole and not smashed up. I had a mixture of hot and mild curry’s. The dansak was spicy! Sometimes it’s milder but it makes you realise that they cook it fresh! Thanks as always

Baji’s cold, rice cold , naan, cold both dishes too spicy to eat. I ordered this evening for 2, it took 90 minutes to get our meals, the rice, baji’s and naan bread were all cold , our main dishes of Garlic Chicken and Chicken Tina Massla were not heat hot but so chilli hot they were almost inedible!! The Massla was so hot we had hiccups! Not a great showing from my go to take away… if I could feedback directly, I would. Last time order here… sorry. But it was really not good.

Delivery's over an hour late and still hasn't turned up. whomever is in charge of managed the phone is completely incompetent as well! Never ordering from this excuse of a "restaurant" again.

I agree that this place is a dreadful place to be eating in. For starters, the first thing that i was faced with when purchasing a curry here was a horrific smell of salt. The amount of salt was obviously dangerous and made the dish a health risk. A huge amount of curry powder was used making the dish gritty as well as salty and even if the dish were cooked properly, the amount of salt was too dangerous to eat in any case. As if this were not bad enough, the meat, tiny amount that there was was { i counted 4 10 pen piece size amounts } was rock hard and would have caused a male lion difficulties in getting through what was supposedly a take away dish. Meat cooked days earlier that was simply inedible unless you were either a vampire or a '' great white shark '' means that meat here is useless to mere humans. best avoided.

God only knows what the food tastes like as delivery service seems non existent, don't advertise this service if you are unable to fulfil it, customer service leaves a lot to be desired as well as they just say 100 percent its coming, simply won't bother using again. If I could give zero stars I would.

Great, best Indian food takeaway I've tried

Unsurprisingly when you have a beard and do not wear hair nets on your head, there is risk of contamination. I spotted three small white hairs in my chicken korma which was in my view stupid. The chef clearly dressed up as a chef is in and out of the kitchen brushing his hair back with his hands over the counter and tugging at his beard so this is not suprising. Apart from this the dishes are bland and watery and the staff are somewhat grumpy almost asif they are wanting to avoid engaging with you. Dirty shop windows and rubbish/litter splattered over the counters makes you wonder what then kitchens are like but.........if hairy curry is your thing then this is the place to go ! Personal hygiene issues to say the least.

It would appear that a new chef works here as I've eaten from here for over a year but recently the place has gone down hill big time. The curries have gone from exotic tasting with true spices to tinned tomatoe soupy curry with no spices whatsoever. This was more of a tin of heinze than a curry. What this means is that I will not eat from here anymore.

This is my regular Indian takeaway choice, our whole family buy from here and in my opinion it’s restaurant standards on quality taste, I had to wait 2 hours Saturday night but the food was worth it. I paid the same price as that of our Chinese take away but double the food.. so I’d recommend this place for sure 😃

We have ordered here a few times and found it ok but our most recent order was just not good, our curry had been topped up with tinned tomatoes! it was a bit odd.

Loved it. Ordered the peshwari naan, chicken tikka masala, saag aloo and dahl and was really pleased with it! Never tried this place before but I would 100% try again and recommend. Food was nice and warm, there was plenty of chicken in the tikka masala and the naan was perfect and light. Easy to order and pick up, overall had a really positive experience :)

I went to Lucky Tandoori last night, because I wanted a tasty Lamb Biriani, walked in the man behind the counter, did not greet me, he took my order, behaved like I was bothering him, just for ordering. I waited for about 20 or more minutes. He just gave me my food, without evening a thank you. When I got home, I had asked him for medium spicy dish. The food he gave me bland. A new born baby could eat it. Terrible service and bland food.

Everything tastes so great! I hate when people whine about the delivery! It takes a long time just to make one curry, the foods absolutely amazing you just have to order in advance! I love it there and the staff is lovely!

19/04/20- Ordered on a sunday at about 8:30, took a little over an hour to arrive but worth the wait. If you have to wait it means they are busy so they are good. Had the set meal for one and was very impressed, all the items were of a good quality, even had real salad, dishes were not too greasy, nice light rice like u get in india, not too spicy, happy man and plenty of meat. Will be ordering again, keep feeding the fine people of norwich in these troubled times. Big love and thank you to all people working at present.

Ordered food at 7.50 and told it would be an hour in now 10pm iv rang twice had no apology made feel like I was bothering them for asking and I'm still awaiting my order.... First time order aswell will be sticking to the curry pot from now on 👍

Really impressed!! I love dining out for a curry and normally avoid takeaways as some items are best before being boxed and travelling for several miles. Tonight (New Years eve) we tried the Lucky Tandoori and the delivery time was fair and the food was great! Lots of flavour to the curries and probably the best onion bhaji I've had that had a commute, crisp, tasty and perfect bite. Highly recommend!!

Very dissatisfied as I’ve used these guys for a long time but tonight we ordered a curry ( yes New Year’s Eve ) But after 90 mins I called to see when the food would be here. He said 10 mins. I called back again at 2 hours ( no apology he said would def be here in twenty mins. At 3 hours I called again ( no apology or sorry it’s new year so delayed) I’ll call the driver and a call you back. No call back so I called Again and asked for discount, he said £5 on a £27 order, I said no thanks if not here in 20 mins please cancel so he offered £7? Turned up 30 mins later so 3 1/2 hours from ordering. Offered driver £20 ( £27 with £7 discount ) who tried to fob me off with”as its new year expect a wait so should pay £27. “ Said no, he called shop and paid agreed price. Curry nice as usual but as expected Luke warm. I appreciate its New Year but the lack of honesty or apology for a 3 hour late, Luke warm curry won’t make me go back again any time soon. Shame. Maybe think about your customer service.

Despite same of the reviews on here I was massively shocked as my takeaway was not at all in the V Good or Excellent bracket and would not order from them again. The korma my friend had was in my mind terrible - about five large lumps (and I mean lumps) of chicken and the sauce was so thick and full of coconut you could not taste anything else. My King Prawn Garlic was so disappointing - it really all looked as if it had been thrown together. For over £20 it was a let down.

I have tried a few Curry carryout restaurants in Norwich but the food quality here is by far the best and the people are truly friendly and appreciate their customers. Highly recommended.

Waited an hour and a half for my food for it to then be covered in oil and they have refused to give me a refund and refused to give any sort of compensation. Do not use this take away!

Hi guys I had to leave a review as I had take away from here last night and it was spot on loved it and had a laugh with the guys in there when I picked it up. Good people good stuff thanks guys

Just received my order..... it was an hour and ten minutes before it arrived, sadly my dish was inedible on the plus side my partner liked her food so it was just myself that went hungry. I called to complain to say my tikka was "off the chart hot" and I was met with a very ill mannererd man on the end of the phone. I simply asked to refund the dish not the whole order which I thought was a fair way to approach (apparently not) .....I was told I had no idea what I was talking about and they couldn't possibly have made a mistake, even though at the start of the conversation he stated "we were the people that ordered extra hot"...then back tracked heavilly when he thought he might have to part with £6.50 to correct his mistake (obviously given the wrong ticket to the chef). Personally wouldn't ever order or recommend this place again. Rude, bad food and a incredibly dated way to go about handleing complaints. 😠

I was reading the reviews and thought i would give it a try, i had chicken biryani, onion bhaji and stuffed paratha, it was ok but thought it was really bland compared to other takeaways/ restaurants i have been to.

I used to frequent this establishment very regularly up until around 2 years ago when my regular and loyal custom was awarded by very poor service and food quality on more than one occasion. Nonetheless, this past Saturday evening I thought I'd give Lucky Tandoori another try and, hoped that things were back to their former best. Therefore I phoned through my order and went to collect myself. Service was polite, friendly and efficient. However, what let things down in my opinion was the food. Whilst I'd noticed that the menu had some new additions from my previous visits, the food I ordered turned out to be quite bland. Disappointing to say the least, especially as I know the experience at Lucky Tandoori has been much better in the past.

My favourite takeaway in Norwich. Always delicious and very friendly service. I would recommend it to everyone.

Teníamos 2 llevar ofertas de comida incluyendo 1 curry cada uno, 1 naan cada uno (o arroz era opción) y cebolla bhajis. El cordero Dansak fue el mejor que he probado en mi vida (aunque ser quisquilloso podría haberlo hecho con un par de piezas más de carne) y el cordero de la esposa también fue excelente. Con los bhajis de cebolla incluidos, estaba lleno y, dado el gran valor, volveremos pronto.

Had a lovely take away from here the other day. Chicken was really nice in the Chicken Tikka Massala and lots of it! Sauce was quite luminous but tasted quite coconutty and the pilau rice was nice also. Overall pretty decent meal as a takeaway!

En general, somos tres los que lo comemos e, inevitablemente, alguien comenta lo perfectamente dulce y caliente que es. Si te gusta el curry caliente, es perfecto, si no puedes elegir otra cosa, todo está bien.La comida está lista rápidamente, generalmente 15 a 20 minutos después de ordenar. No puedo comentar sobre los tiempos de entrega ya que nunca los necesité.El servicio también es bueno. Está todo bien, pruébalo.

After the demise of dial a curry we struggled to find a good curry house. But yay someone recommend the lucky tandoori. And the food was delicious, I always have a dansak, was perfect.

Hay varios buenos restaurantes indios en la ciudad que siempre tienen buenas críticas, pero desde mi experiencia sólo uno o dos de ellos son comparables a la calidad de los alimentos disponibles para entrega de Suerte Tandoori.

I ordered a meal for myself and family from this place, fist it took the 95 minutes to deliver mainly because the driver got lost, when I eventually got my food after calling several times and being repeatedly told 5 minutes it was cold, so called to complain about that and they guy just put the phone down, so I thought well I just spent £54.00 so I reheated the food and well lets just say it was pretty much tasteless hardly any of the flavours the dishes should of had and next to no spice at all.

Decidimos probar llevar como habíamos oído buenos comentarios y no le apetece cocinar. El personal era muy amable y la entrega fue rápida. Estábamos emocionados por el extenso menú y elegimos 2 partes de vegetales, pollo methi, arroz y pan. Sin embargo, la comida no era muy buena. De hecho era muy soso y decepcionante. No hay distintos sabores que hizo el curry el mismo sabor.
