The Reindeer Pub & Kitchen in Norwich

Just had the best roast dinner in the city. So delicious and the staff made us feel so welcoming. GF/ve options available and the dessert was a lovely homemade Eton mess! Would recommend this place to anyone 👌

I stayed in Norwich on the Saturday and wanted a good Sunday roast the next day. I heard good things about The Reindeer so thought we would give it a go and we wasn’t disappointed. The meat was juicy and the yorkshires were delicious. We will definitely be going there again on our next visit to Norwich. I read review about ‘nuts’ on the menu….this must be a malicious review as there are no nuts on the menu.

Do not go if you have allergies, three of us had been before, but we had 1 who has peanut allergy, the menu looked great but he was concerned about the amount of peanuts on the menu, he checked with the waitress, who said it wasnt safe for him. 5 customers lost, we wont go back

New people have taken over and the place just got better the roasts are amazing they also still doing music and quiz etc .the place is cleaner and more friendly

One of the best pubs in norwich

Visited a few weeks back with my wife and I were shocked to how rude the lady was. Reading other reviews I assume it was the land lady.

Nice on outskirts of the city. Good selection of beers, large seating areas throughout and a pool table. Watched a band play, good acoustics and plenty of space to watch from the tables. Only negative was the toilets they looked like public junky toilets. Graffiti everywhere. Would visit again if in area

Good service, free entrance to see two fantastic bands, reasonably priced beer . I attended with my wife and we travelled by bus from Great Yarmouth, well worth the journey !

Only been here a couple of times over the years but wanted to pop in before the current landlady leaves. Had no idea I would be walking into a punk party at 4pm on a Saturday but what a joy to see them loving life! Best wishes to the staff in their new venture I'm sure there are a lot of loyal customers who will be right there alongside you.

The best pub in Norfolk, I just wish it was my local! We've seen some brilliant bands and DJs and the Sunday roast is amazing. Definitely worth a visit 😊🎶

Great atmosphere whether there’s music or not, a pub that has brought such a wide and varied audience together. A pub on the edge of the city that serves great food with very reasonably priced drinks.

What a pub! Suits all age groups (including us olds!) and due to the amazing Landlady and her impressive staff, everyone is made to feel welcome! And as for the roast dinners …. perfect!

Proper spit and sawdust psychobilly rock and roll pub. Live music and friendly amiable staff. Have beer or a coffee and catch some of the best bubbling up and all round entertaining live bands. Yay for places like the reindeer

I go to The Reindeer quite regularly just because of its great atmosphere. I regularly have Sunday roast dinners here. I have been to many places for a roast dinner, and I can honestly say this is one of the best roast dinners I've ever eaten. Everything tastes amazing.

Would just like to say what a fantastic Sunday roast I had today as part of the Bloodshake chorus party better then any of the carveries in the norwich great yarmouth or lowestoft area i big thankyou to Lou and her team

Amazing place my fav venue but would have been nicer if I wasn’t lied to by the staff was told that they weren’t serving any more by a guy with a nose ring and long hair despite this I saw multiple people being served at the bar I had my ID ready to show I am in fact legal age and yet was told that they aren’t serving really confused as to why I was denied I know it wasn’t intoxication as the only drink I had was about 2 hours ago at this point? Really sad about this aside from that amazing place so cute and lovely highly recommend

Can't complain about service or atmosphere. I came to watch a band and the sound quality was not great. Many left early as couldn't hear the music. Possibly nothing to do with pub as no sound engineer. The real ale not good. Sturcher Stout and Legacy normally great beers but a little off. Thankfully Tom Cat saved the day.

Went for the Sunday Roast and it was amazing. Great choice of meats and the veggie option was fantastic. Comes with great selection of veg, extra gravy and the biggest batter pudding ever!! Fantastic quality food cooked excellently by a very talented chef is what I’d say. Pub had a lovely atmosphere, staff couldn’t have been more helpful or friendly. Will definitely be going back again.

Local pub, great beer, service and outstanding live music. Food days are always great too. Pie night deals on a Thursday and roasts on a Sunday. Highly recommend this place. Not been ? Get yourself down there, you won't be disappointed. The staff are great and the Landlady is a legend.

Great friendly staff and great music

I like the reindeer, it isn't my favourite pub or my local and previously I'd have given the pub a 4 star rating, nothing they do wrong, i just reserve 5 stars for my favourite. However, seeing that they didn't book Will O'Brien I've had to push them to a full five star rating. Hard to fault a pub who'd actively spare me his crooning

The pub that does it all! Great food and friendly, professional staff. Also, Lou works very hard booking a variety of great quality live bands - I’ve played there several times and always felt appreciated. Gig nights always have a great atmosphere with people up dancing, whatever the genre, but the place is big enough that you can escape the noise if you want to chat. Totally unique venue in Norwich and must be appreciated.

Fab little pub, always full of friendly faces and good music. The landlady has a lot of knowledge and experience behind her of what her customers want to see and books bands accordingly. The best and most talented bands are booked to play here and they never fail to disappoint. Always a welcoming environment here by the landlady and her team.

I have lived above The Reindeer for just over two years untill this month, the staff, customer ans the owner has always been nice to me and helped me in anyway possible. Its more like family and I really will miss it, excuse to pop in on Wednesdays for pool night and drinks 😁😁😁

A very friendly pub with a huge choice of drinks and great food. Great bands covering a vast genre play here and is a friendly and safe venue. 40 mile round trip as not local but well worth it.

This Pub has been a staple of the live music scene in Norwich for some time, presenting the best in grass routes music across the world. The staff are incredible, the drinks fairly priced, and the atmosphere is welcoming. The Pub Dog is the best too. Love this place, can’t recommend highly enough.

This is without a doubt my favourite pub I norwich , Lou and her staff are the friendly bunch you could meet , great selection of beers and ales and always changing . Always great bands in there Fri, Sat and Sunday as well as other entertainment other nights such as quiz nights and open mike nights . Sundays roasts are to die for, not to mention the pie and pint night on Thursday and great value too. Highly recommended.

The Reindeer is a large music pub in Norwich, and the landlady, Lou, is one of the best in the business. She and her staff are always very welcoming and the customer service you receive from them all is excellent. I've never seen a pub with some many choices of beers, lagers and spirits. There is a good choice of non alcoholic beverages and soft drinks too, so something for everyone. The Sunday Roasts are superb. I personally would not go anywhere else. Lou has a great ear for music and understands her customer base so therefore the pub is always packed when bands are playing. Plenty of room to dance your socks off, to the great bands that she books. Honestly, there is never a dull night. In the summer, there is a beautiful garden to sit out in, and enjoy a few beers with friends and family. A pub I highly recommend for socialising, Sunday dinners and definitely the music and dancing 💃 ❤️

Rude and dishonest management. Stay away. *Edit as management has responded. You we not even sent promo materials when you dismissed with with an obvious lie that you thought you'd get away with because you did not know I was familiar with your venue and had played here previously. When questioned on this you became aggressive and rude so you have earned your review. Respect for artists is not up for debate, and if you are comfortable telling lies to potential business partners then this says a lot about how you run your venue. Dishonestly is not acceptable and any potential partners should be aware of this massive red flag.

Brilliant pub with great friendly bar staff . The food is lovely and the music is very varied to suit many music fans .Punk , country, honky tonk ,soul, blues , mod ,, rockabilly , folk , jazz , swing,Americana All types of rock music etc etc..With a crowd of approx 200 you feel that you're at a much bigger venue and most gigs are free.Good selection of beers , spirits etc.pie n a pint nights and jam sessions are popular too .Lou Wilding works hard to please her punters and listens to them when they suggest a band they would like to see .If you're visiting Norwich , or live here anyway, have a drink or two in the Reindeer.

Best Alt Pub in norwich, Beer selection is fantastic, I have yet to try the food so cannot say either way, but the live music and people that frequent are just amazing. Everyone is so lovely, they have stories to share and all have an appreciation for decent music.

What a lovely pub, warm, friendly staff lovely couldn’t do enough. Great service. Recommend booking busy. Atmosphere buzzing. Well the roast was just awesome, was wholesome def best ever had. Didn’t have to wait long, choice of meats, good selection of veg, whole meal was fresh, hot. Well the Yorkshire was just huge homemade and delicious. Not rushed to use the table again so really relaxed chilled. Think we were there for about 6 hours in all didn’t feel like we wanted to go ☺️. Music in the background really great place whether you go for drinks or for food. Think we will be making a regular visit for definite. Thank you for a great experience😃x

I was thrilled to discover this charming Norwich pub, a hidden gem boasting ample space. It's a lovely, typical spot for a delightful experience in the city. The atmosphere, and service is second to none.

Went for a Sunday lunch. Good traditional roast lunch. If I was to make one criticism, the vegetarian option is a bit limiting. However they are prepared to swap items and the cauliflower cheese is good.

Quality live music, most days of the week, make the Reindeer a Norwich pub we keep coming back to. Celabrated new years there this year and couldn't have wanted a more welcoming and friendly crowd. Looking forward to our first roast of 2020! Update... Three years on the Riegndeer is still my favourite pub in the city, still does a great Sunday Roast and now Pie and a Pint for a tenner on Thursdays. A rare beast, a pub that strikes a good balance of traditional wet pub with music and a good food offer. Lovely stuff :)

A great venue. Live music regularly, not overcrowded, a nice choice of drinks both on the pump & spirits, and what's more it has great bar staff too. I've not tried the food yet, so may well do one day as it looked nice. Looking forward to another visit soon.

Went for the first time as one of our favourite bands was playing. Nice pub. Would definitely visit again. Although they didn't have any Malibu, which, for me personally, was very disappointing.

The Sunday lunch roast at the reindeer is 10/10!! Roast meats veggies gravy are all deliciously presented topped with a big Yorkshire pud & a little extra gravy jug if needed! The blondie & brownie puddings are insane we all had spoons perfect finish to a top roasty! The beer garden is very groovy, the Sunday dj spins out some great tunes to set the mode. My lunch was so good too busy tucking in. Than to take a pic but I did manage to get a pudding pic! Staff are all so friendly welcoming & consistent in every way every time we have visit! Enjoy!

Superb live music venue. Experienced staff, friendly and knowledgeable. Guinness pouring skills are superb. Rear garden is open. Barbeque hut in the summer. Room available for hire.
