Rhubarb in Selby

My husband and i had a lovely lunch today and we were served by the very friendly Tania.just as i was ordering our food a man came in and said "are these tables free" Tania said "i won't be a minute i'm just serving this lady: and with that the man said " you're very rude" and stormed off.Tania was definitley not rude it was him.why do some people have no patience! Booked Rhubarb for my mums 80th birthday celebration for 11 family and friends about 6 weeks previously. We pre-ordered all our food beforehand which made things easier for us and for the staff as it is ALWAYS busy in this little gem of a place. From the minute we arrived there early afternoon on a busy Saturday the staff were attentive and polite. We had a big table for 12 set up with plenty of space and not too cramped. The menu isn’t vast but it varied and there was something for everybody. Our party had a mixture of the afternoon teas, Yorkshire Slate, Steak Pie, quiches and cakes. Iced water in bottles was available on the tables for us. The place is also licenced so my 80yr old mum could enjoy her obligatory glass of wine with her meal! Dietary needs are also catered for. A friend had made my mums cake ( pictured ) and the staff were very happy to let me bring in mums cake and eat some of it there even though they do provide beautiful cakes themselves. Almost of the food here is home made and you can tell. All the cakes are made on site. Every bit of it was delicious!!! For 11 people with all our drinks etc the total bill came to £122! Unbelievable value. I cannot recommend this place enough!!! It’s only been open for 2 years and is a credit to the owners ( and don’t forget it’s attached to little garden centre/nursery as well ). Will certainly be returning on a regular basis as I pass it en route to my mums house.. it would be rude not to !!

Went here for lunch,was very busy ,this was 1pm ,there was just one table for 2 available,we took this,we had to wait a while to be served but the waitress explained that a lot of people had all come in at once,we were quite happy to wait perusing the menu. I chose the quiche of the day with salad & coleslaw,with a pot of tea, the quiche was warm & so tasty. My husband had the Ploughman's,this had pork pie,sausage roll,3 types of cheese,salad,pickle ,ham & a hunk of bread with butter,he had a Latte to drink. We were so full so didn't try the delicious looking cakes but did buy 2 fruit scone to bring home,these were delicious. Total was £21.60p including the scones,great value for money. Our first visit but hopefully not our last. They are closed Sun & Mon,then open 10 till 3 Tues to Sat,they stop serving hot food at 2.30pm.

This cafe does not consider or cater for solo diners. I could see one table for two but was told this was reserved. I was offered a table for six but was told I could only have it for a certain length of time which was under an hour. By the time I would have read the menu, selected my choice and waited to be served this time allowed wouldn’t have been adequate. No consideration was given to the fact that I had taken time to travel there or my petrol used. I would not consider dining here or recommend due to the inconsiderate and rude waitress.

A hidden treat. Delicious food. Warm and welcoming staff. Highly recommend Rhubarb as definitely worth a visit.

Our afternoon tea was delicious , it had it all , mini prawn cocktail mini soup, scones with cream and jam warm quiche, fab cheesecake lovely cakes all with lashing of coffee and tea, the service was good and we will return.

Live quite close by and didn’t realise until recently that the Rhubarb even existed. Visited on two occasions in December with a friend. We opted for bacon rolls on our first visit and cake to follow - obviously!! Second visit we had the full english. Superb food, quality ingredients. First class service. We will definitely be back!

Just been with the family for festive afternoon tea , the food was outstanding , and the staff friendly and efficent , it was just fab x

Lovely little place, definitely recommend. Home cooked food, warm scone to die for very clean and staff very polite and friendly. Will be returning! Can't wait to try ploughmans it looked fab!

Visited today for the first time and was treated to a walk in afternoon tea. I was promised good things as my friend had visited before but I underestimated how good it would be. We were each treated to 3 finger sandwiches, 2 cakes and a scone with butter, jam and cream. Plus a pot of tea. Absolutely delicious. I live in Leeds but will definitely be visiting again with family and friends. Fabulous little place.

Loved it here and will definitely be back. The staff were all lovely & friendly and the food was excellent. My only regret was not ordering the afternoon tea as it looked amazing. I would highly recommend dining here as it is such a nice place with delicious food.

Called in this morning with a group of cycling friends. I was very hungry so ordered a bacon,sausage and tomato sandwich, with a cup of coffee. Total bill £8.15 The coffee was good the sandwich, average at best . the rest of the group had cakes and drinks which all looked good. The service was friendly and efficient. Dont think I will visit again .

Had an afternoon tea gift voucher to redeem, rang up to book and discuss my dislikes which were definitely catered for . On arrival we were immediately sat at our table and offered drinks before our food arrived, and boy when it did arrive I was gobsmacked. I didn’t know where to start first because everything looked scrumptious, went for the little pot of soup and warm toast. We enjoyed everything we could eat whilst there and was given a box to bring home the rest that we couldn’t eat there and then, ( we were still eating the sweet stuff the next day) well worth the money, had our teapot topped up. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming on what was a miserable wet day!!! Will definitely be making a return to this lovely place

Called in for lunch today with a good friend. We had a warm Welcome and escorted to our table. After a brief chat with the owner we were shown the menu. The cakes on display look delicious and there is plenty of choice for savoury lunch. We had a sharing Rhubarb platter which consisted of roast ham, fresh salad, artisan bread, pork pie, sausage roll,3 different cheeses fresh salad and two types of homemade chutney. Then we had Latte and posh Pop and just to be saintly shared a huge piece of carrot cake AND millionaire shortbread, got to be done!!

Enjoyed a really nice lunch here, mid week. This is a lovely little eatery, with a varied menu and fabulous home made cakes. The staff are friendly and welcoming and it’s a lovely setting to relax and enjoy some time with friends and family. It’s not very large, and has limited seating, so it’s worth reserving a table so you won’t be disappointed. Weather permitting, there are additional tables and chairs outside.

We have been here a few times npw and the quality of food is amazingly consistent! Tasty, fresh food and cakes to die for! Just so lovely, would highly recommend, i do advise booking, as it is so popular and becomes busy.

Wonderful cafe. The staff are really friendly and welcoming and totally professional. The food choice, quality, taste and presentation is world class. Beautifully laid out cafe and great atmosphere. 100% recommend this cafe.

Myself and my husband popped in for a cup of tea and a cake. It was lunchtime on a Thursday and the cafe was full. Fortunately the weather was nice and we were able to sit outside. We enjoyed scones with jam and clotted cream which were delicious. A very nice spot.

Well.... what can I say? I absolutely love coming to Rhubarb.... booked the Valentines afternoon tea for me and the hubster and it didn’t disappoint. Hubster’ s first time here and it exceeded his expectations.

Picked this venue for a friends baby shower and we weren’t disappointed. The service was faultless and the food was delicious. Would definitely recommend x

Wonderful little tea room. Does afternoon teas(ahead booking) or normal menu and special boards. Locally sourced produce. Was busy when we got there at 12pm Sat. Staff were very friendly and helful and quick to to take order. I got the rhubarb winter slate. Little bacon and brie toastie, red pepper soup, black pudding pork pie, Cornish pasty and salad garnish. Very nice! And my partner had cheese and chutney sandwich with garnish. Both had a pot of tea for 2 and a slice of cake each. Lots of cake to pick from too. Will be going back! Want to try the afternoon tea

My friend and I decided to try some where new. We looked on line and fortunately came across this little Gem.

This little cafe is gorgeous, lovely ladies working hard as it can get busy especially near Christmas. My friend and I love the afternoon tea, and such a cosy friendly place! We keep returning and always have a lovely visit.

I had heard of the little gemof a place but never visited so when my friend suggested we meet there for a coffee and catch up it was a def yes. The place is furnished lovely and very welcoming. I only had coffee and cake and the cake was to die for and all homemade. My friend and I couldn't take our eyes of the delights that were being served to other customers. Everything looked gorgeous. It is without doubt that I will definitely be returning and the sooner the better. One last point all the staff were attentive and friendly.

Visited yesterday for 1st time per word of mouth recommendation and Tripadvisor reviews. Lovely place down a little lane with a few businesses either side.

Rhurbard is a lovely, I’ve been here for lunch and had tomato and basil soup which was gorgeous followed by a lovely slab of cake. The prices are good value. I came here again at the weekend for a birthday lunch, I ended up ordering the walk in afternoon tea which for £8.95 was fantastic value for money, the cafe itself is very quaint. It does get busy during lunch time so if it is a special occasion I would book. The autumn menu of soup, toastie, 1/2 sausage roll and pork pie looks lovely so defo coming back to try this. Would defo recommend I come here just for a nice coffee too.

Visited first time today made to feel so welcome by the staff who couldn't do enough for you!! Everything on the menu we wanted but decided on the ploughmans platter which was amazing they even swapped one of the pork pies for a sandwich we fancied. We really wanted cake but just could not fit it in after the platter but will definitely be back as it looked delicious! Little gem of a place. Well done Rhubarb.

Been here 3 times now and it is now our favourite eatery. Totally gorgeous food and cakes to die for. Staff are very friendly helpful and very welcoming. We love this place and my mum who is 90 and very fussy can't wait for her next visit.

First visit to rhubarb today and will be going back. Very friendly staff and great food,lovely and clean and well set out. I got the Yorkshire slate as shown in the picture and it was more than filling with an excellent charcoal cheese. Hubby got the biggest slice of millionaires shortcake I have ever seen and little boy got a bacon sandwich. With 3 drinks it came to just under £20 which I think is reasonable. Was disappointed that I couldn’t manage a piece of cake as they all looked delicious, so will be definitely visiting again just for cake

I visit this tea rooms regularly now and I can't give it any faults. The food is amazing, the staff are lovely and the drinks are spot on. Also selling alcohol too!! Everyone needs to try Rhubarb!!!!

Visited here for lunch on Saturday. This was the first opportunity I had since the cafe opened and I do have to say it was well worth the wait. The decor is lovely. The menu is typical of a tearoom nowadays but the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff are what sets it apart from the rest. It makes a refreshing change to find somewhere that serves quality, fresh ingredients and home made cakes at reasonable prices. Good luck to all the team you certainly deserve it. Can't wait to return!!!

After lots of great reviews on Facebook I decided to check this local cafe out and was not disappointed. It had great customer service with great kid options and a variety of lunch options with lots of yummy cakes too.😀

Lovely atmosphere, friendly, efficient staff and delicious food both savoury and sweet, all in a good price range. Easily accessible just off main road and very close to new season plants.

We had lunch here. A very special ploughman’s lunch. Local produce with unusual cheeses, all lovely. Well worth a visit. And the cakes are delicious 😋

Visited for the first time today & found this tea room to be friendly & professional. The atmosphere & ambience are very relaxing. The menu is varied & the food fresh & tasty. The coffee was delicious. The range of homemade cakes was extensive & they all looked amazing. They sell lovely gifts/treats too: Marmalade candles/diffusers that are divine, handmade cards, pictures & more! Noticed the sign on the gate saying they’d applied for an alcohol license. There’s free parking on-site. We’ll definitely be regulars from now on, there’s no reason not to be!

Visited Rhubarb shortly after it opened. I chose a jacket potato with baked beans. It was accompanied by a lovely salad and delicious homemade coleslaw. I also purchased some slices of cake for my office to sample, namely carrot cake, chocolate and orange cake and a cherry and almond cake. They were all divine. There is a varied menu but not too many choices and they do a gorgeous afternoon tea. The staff are very attentive and helpful. There is also a selection of handmade gifts, bathbombs and organic body products which smelt lovely. Would thoroughly recommend a visit to this establishment.
