Visited Rhode Island Coffee as I do on a regular basis. As per normal, the coffee, pastries, and service were first class. The staff are always very welcoming and provide a great service. One of the best coffee shops in Altrincham. Keep up the good work.

We visiting for a drink when out and around shopping. The staff were friendly and service was very quick. Good choice of food, drinks and cakes. Prices were reasonable and the seating area was clean and tidy. They also have a book exchange for adults and children. We enjoyed our drinks and cakes and will be visiting again soon.

Great coffee with the biggest choice of syrups I've seen in any coffee shop. Staff are friendly and helpful. I love the book shelves that I can grab a book from if I'm alone there. You can also swap a book with one of yours if you'd like to take one home. Nice touch! This is definitely my favourite place to go to when I need a break from shopping.

used to love this place. found the atmosphere a little dull. Felt rushed at the counter. ordered a toasted tea cake which was ok not the best. sign said it could have jam with it but wasn't offered. Quite a few small bothersome flies at my corner table, so I moved.

I visit quite a lot and now qualify for a free loyalty coffee. Spacious and comfortable inside and places to smoke or just sit outside. Nice brew and friendly staff. Enjoyed my visits.

Another visit to my local RIC, and as always, the service, drinks and food was 5 stars. A great place to have coffee in an area swamped by coffee shops...highly recommended.

A regular visitor to Rhode Island Coffee in Altrincham due to the fact it's a welcoming coffee shop, with friendly, helpful and polite staff and great coffee, cakes and snacks. Always afforded a warm welcome here and certainly will be returning again soon.

I been going to this coffee shop for long time and it become my favourite coffee shop now. The employees are excellent people with a good communication and professionalism. This was a quick solo visit , as always I was served by very friendly staff. Had a top notch hot chocolate and brownie.

The coffee shop is very well laid out and the manager Mr Nasser is very good and professional. However , the younger staff member Matthew I think kept calling me “mate” which I informed him I did not like , he apologised and I think realized his mistake . I left feeling fine and will revisit just needs staff improvement.

Liked the atmosphere here. Pleasant staff and lots of comfy seating. I thought the choice of cakes and sweet stuff was better here than the big chains. This is part of a small chain of coffee shops based in the North West and they have their own loyalty scheme. Coffee good too. Convenient location on the main drag.

Its a nice trendy cafe. Pleasant atmosphere. Offers a variety of coffees, teas and hot chocolate except today in the afternoon they had ran out of hot chocolate. A busy time being Christmas but that should be taken into account. They offer hot and cold sandwiches and a variety of pastries and cakes.

Rhode Island in Altrincham is one of our "happy places" where the coffee is great and the team who run it are friendly and welcoming. Would highly recommend.

Always a great cup of coffee here. I am not a fan of the big chain coffee houses so Rhode Island is a must. Lovely bacon and brie ciabatta yesterday. The place is always busy inside and out. Good value with a rewards scheme as well

My best friend and I, decided to try out Rhode Island Coffee at our recent visit to Altrincham instead of going to one of the big coffee shops. We were not disappointed with the independant. We were greeted by smiles all around from the team behind the counter. The shop was clean, inviting and offered a warm atmosphere. The coffee was hot, served quickly with a delicious cake. The cost was competitive compared to the other coffee outlets in the town. The coffee servers came to the table to enquire if we wanted another coffee, and asked us to complete the questionares. My friend and I were happy to oblige as good service needs to be rewarded. We will be back when next in Altrincham. Looking forward to sitting outside and enjoying a sandwich and perhaps another cake!

We love Rhode Island. On the whole I'd give it 5 stars but today was disappointed in the Mozzarella and Tomato panini. It had the tiniest bit of mozzarella. Mainly tomato. Couldn't taste the tiny bit of mozzarella that was there. Wish firms would give value for money and not cut back on ingredients. Will keep going to Rhode Island but won't have this panini.

Really good choice of drinks!! There’s so many to choose from, I had a cherry lemonade and it was so refreshing. The coffee is always delicious whenever I get one from here too. And staff always make you feel really welcome. Definitely my go-to coffee place when shopping in Alty. <3

Queued for 10 minutes to get served because of so few staff. After another post ordering 10 minutes, I asked the person making the coffee if she had mine in train as others after me had been served. She snapped that she was going as fast as she could. Waited another 10 minutes and no sign so I told them that I couldn’t wait any more and left. Simply awful experience

Over the years we’ve visited many, if not all coffee shops in the Altrincham area. Rhode Island coffee shop in Altrincham is by far our favourite for many different reasons. No matter what time of day, or how busy it is the staff always treat you as if you’re the only customer in the shop. Today I was served by Georgia, she went above and beyond with our order ensuring my 9 year old daughters hot chocolate was made with care and the temperature was also taken into consideration. The atmosphere is always happy and friendly, which has a ripple effect onto the customers. The food is also delicious and even if there’s a long queue it’s made efficiently and we receive it in good time. I’ve genuinely nothing negative to say about this coffee shop, we love spending time there and always walk out with a smile on our faces! I would like to commend all of the staff for the amazing job they do, and if you’ve not been it’s most definitely worth a visit!! :)

Probably didn’t catch this place at the best time. The till was broken so they were only accepting cash payments which seemed to cause the staff some stress. We had a couple of sandwiches and drinks. which were quite nice. The place was busy and the service was a bit distracted because of the till issue. Overall, there are probably better places to eat in Altrincham but this is reasonably good.

Soup from the cold cabinet in a supermarket (we saw it in its tub). On the side was a slice of packet brown bread. The soup had been micro's but not stirred as one of the bowls was mainly liquid, and the other was the soup's main ingredients. The soup was bland and the bread unappealing. Lesson learned that soup of the day does not mean that it's been made fresh on the premises. Unfortunately, we paid too much for what it was. We visited on a Sunday but won't go back.

Went with friends for a coffee the other day to Rhode Island and the service was excellent. We were served by Agatha that went the extra mile. Some of my friends have gluten intolerance and Agatha did everything to provide that they would have food according to their food requirements.First time that they been in this coffee shop and they were amazed by the whole experience. Rhode Island has the best coffee in the world. I’ve been a customer at this coffeehouse for many years now. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Especially Agata the manager, she is so kind and has the best customer service. It’s always nice to see the friendly faces of the staff: Dec, Chantelle, Zeeshan, Dom, Alex and Spencer. The coffee tastes incredible and I go multiple times a day for that great tasting coffee. Try the salted caramel slices they are delicious. There are many coffee shops in Altrincham but they are inferior, as their coffee tastes bland and they have horrible customer service compared to Rhode. If your in Altrincham and want to unwind with a refreshing drink, Rhode Island is the place to go.

I usually like Rhode Island coffee shop in Oldham where I go regularly. On arriving at the Altrincham branch today (12 Jan) I sat down and I was about to go and place my order at the till when I saw a waitress come over to write down the order of two girls sitting at the table near me. I asked her if I should order at the till or if they would come and take my order, because usually in Oldham we order at the till. She said “oh no, here we always come and take your order”. I expressed my surprise and went to sit back down to wait. After a few mins she came back and said “we are ready to take your order” and pointed for me to go to the till. I said I thought she was going to come and take my order and she said no. When I arrived at the till she served me with a very unfriendly manner and when I asked her why she took the other girls’ order at the table she didn’t answer but kept repeating “Can I take your order?” I asked her “do you understand what I’m asking you? I’m confused why you took those girls’ orders at their table”. She said “yes I understand. That’s a personal matter”. There was a guy making the coffee and I should stress that he was extra friendly and I think he could sense that I felt offended because of the rude attitude of the woman so after she had gone he told me to sit down and he would bring my drink over to me. I think it was a misunderstanding, but even so I think the member of staff in question could have communicated in a much friendlier manner. One more disappointing thing is that there was no chocolate powder to sprinkle on top of my coffee. For £3.75 I would expect attention to those little details. I hate to complain because I love Rhode Island in general but this experience today makes me hesitate to go back to the Altrincham branch.

I work in Altrincham and visit the shop daily for my morning fix, every morning I've found a warm welcome waiting. The staff are always friendly and welcoming whilst the coffee is always delicious and the cake is delicious!!! If you want great coffee, great service and friendly atmosphere this is the coffee shop for you!

Absolutely awful service. Was asked “what do you want” by boy on the till then our drinks were shouted out and slammed down by the barista. We went to sit at a table and they were absolutely filthy. Will not return

We hadn't been to Altrincham for many (20) years but were not disappointed today. The weather was cold with a biting breeze, but we were appropriately dressed. The Stamford Quarter is pedestrianised & offers a huge variety of both individual & national businesses. We found bargains at every turn & returned to the cheap multi-storey car park weighed down with our bags. As for Rhode Island Coffee, it was a welcome break from shopping. The coffee was good & strong & the cakes superb. Perhaps, in our 70's, to be greeted with "Hi pal" grated a little, especially as it has taken us some years to become accustomed to being addressed as "Guys". My wife particularly objects. Try any shop in France if you want a genuine, polite greeting.

Popped in for a quick panini and coffee with the family at about 11.30 on a Saturday. It's a popular spot. Mostly paninis in the savoury section and a nice range of cakes. They swapped a cold Americano no problem and the manager (who served me) was very friendly.

The moment I entered in, I find myself in a very busy coffee shop, stand in queue for a bit and then got served by this lovely lady name Agata, I can say without any doubts or second thoughts I have never received such pleasant service before specially when it is busy and stressful for coffee shop staff to please all the customers, I been greeted with smile, gratitude and respect beside my complicated order for whole family Agata did not showed any frustration or impatience at any point, had to alter my order few times, each time Agata will comply with a smile and holder a great conversation. Once my coffee and food was ready, I encountered another pleasant surprise of beautiful latte art and perfectly made coffee. Ahh my new the Most Favourite coffee shop of all time!!!

I went to this cafe shop and first I asked for some extra milk to be told by the barista that I had to pay , for extra warm milk every other coffee shop in Altrincham give for free , I got a small coffee which was about half a cup .. the staff are rude and unhelpful.. at the prices for coffe maybe they can employ some better staff ..

Stumbled across this place, while having wonder round. Fancied a coffee, usually use costa but can definatly say this is a fantastic find! Friendly and chat staff, that have a laugh and a joke with you (which is hard to find) Coffee is fantastic, doesn't taste burnt. Had chicken and veg soup, lovely! I love this coffee shop, I’ve been frequenting it for the last few years , since it re opened on the high street, I go regularly with friends and colleagues , in the summer we become a big group of regulars with our dogs, I was sorry to see the manager Naomi is leaving this week, I’d like to say that she has been fantastic, looked after us for years, her customer service is 100%, she great at her job and a really nice friendly person as the front of the business, you will be missed greatly by your customers , good luck in your new place and thank you for your years of hard work and quality service

Visited for the first time on Saturday and was so impressed . It says best coffee in Altrincham on the board outside and it truly was. My partner and I both had Flat whites and they were perfect. The service was very friendly and the staff were attentive and seemed to know a lot of the customers. Highly recommend this place . We will be back !!

Went here for a coffee today , WiFi is hopeless and I asked for Pass word almost like I was here to rob the place , very unhelpful, it warm and as I came here to send a few emails it’s useless ...small coffee £2.70 ??? Nice coffee, and fabulous apple slice i had with my coffee. I hope it tries to stay true to its independant roots as the whole panini thing brings it too close to the costa's of this world.

My husband and I were first customers on boxing day and the woman who served us was so off hand and rude. We found out she was in charge. May be she had had a bad start or hates working boxing day. She literally threw my husbands change at him then hit my hand when she threw the card stamper down. We got no hello smile nothing. Our drinks were tepid but we dared not say. A young man attended to our teacake and he was lovely and courteous. I usually love Rhode island and had persuaded by starbucks loving husband to try Rhode. He won't be going back if she's on the counter!

Called in on Saturday for a Frappe as so hot and was told by the very officious member of staff that I couldn't redeem my loyalty card on a cold drink even though it was still a coffee and nowhere on the card does it make this point. Not sure why this should be and the u helpful member of staff just kept saying "Not on cold drinks" unhappy about and would like to know why?

Been going to Rhode Island coffee for some time now. The staff was always brilliant, friendly and going the extra mile to provide an excellent and quality service. A special mention to the manager Naomi that in the first time that I went to Rhode Island her greeting made me feel at home. The staff follow her foot steps in a way of friendliness and welcoming everyone, making this place not just a coffee shop but a place that you feel conformable to be in and that you wanna go to. Food and the coffee is great. If you love a good coffee this is the place to be.

The customer service in here by Dave and his colleague was amazing. Dave was friendly and made you feel very welcome. Nothing was too much effort considering I'm a little fussy! I will definitely be back. It's the little things that make your trip here a bit better!

Not local to the area or the store, just visiting Altrincham to see friends. We decided to get a coffee after a look around the markets. I can only say that the customer service was excellant in consideration of how busy the store was. Yes there was a little wait but that's normal at lunch time. The speed and efficiency of the staff was on par with any other of the stores that are in town (and there's many). I can only congratulate the manager for running the store so well and making it such a friendly and chilled out shop.

I came upon this little gem by chance. Thank goodness I did. Nothing like your costas or cafe Neros, this is a lovely independent cafe.

Went yesterday with a friend on a day trip. I'm visiting from The Netherlands, as an ex-pat. Asked for honey for my tea and a member of staff with brown hair in a bun retorted immediately with what I can only describe as a shockingly mocking and sarcastic tone in an affected camp voice. She proceeded to list all the items which were available but I declined them all. If only her attitude was a little less defensive and hostile, I may have accepted her offer of Maple Syrup in my Mint Tea! Proceeded to ask for the restroom later, to which she dismissively responded. In my final attempt to interact with her, to clear what I might have considered a mis-interpretation of her communication style, I was left with the firm conclusion that she was just hostile. The rest of the staff did not do better either. They're either not paid very well or Britain First types. The only thing that saved the experience was the tea. Stay away if you are a "foreigner"!!

We'd walked into Altrincham with the dog on a very grey wet Sunday and were delighted to find that our four-legged friend was welcome too. Great coffee, friendly staff. Love the bookshelves too. So ditch the chain store coffee and head to Rhode Island instead

We have enjoyed many sandwiches, hot chocolates and coffees here over the last year or so, all delicious, and have swapped books many times from the shelves.

I'm not a habitual reviewer, but wanted to let the management know about my experience today. We always walk past the large chain coffee shops when going for a treat in Altrincham, and Rhode Island is usually our choice of location. Today my wife and I went in for a panini to share, some cake and coffee. The shop was practically empty as we paid, the serving girl placed our panini under the grill before making our coffee and serving the cake - before starting to chat to a colleague who appeared as we paid. We sat with our coffee and cake (as you dont eat your desert before your sandwich in our neck of the woods) waiting for our sandwich. After 10 minutes (half the coffee now gone) I asked whether it was ready. The girl who served us was asked (as now she was working the coffee machine) and we were told that it had been left under the toaster too long and forgot about so we couldn't eat it. The other girl who served us asked for another choice to grill. I dont think its too petty to say that the one we had chosen was the last one, which we couldnt have and so had to choose another. Our coffee was gone by the time we finally got our sandwich and the whole experience has marred our feelings towards what was our favourite coffee shop. To be clear. The girls who we spoke to were pleasant, and I didnt want to cause a scene in the shop. I'm a person who chooses to simply go somewhere else if I'm not happy. When you don't have treats often you expect them to hit the spot when you decide to push the boat out, but the service on this occasion somewhat spoilt what should have been a simple toasting of a panini to compliment our coffee and cake purchases. As usual the coffee, cake and panini were delicious, but in my opinion the service is as important as the products you choose to buy.

Lovely coffee shop in the centre of Altrincham always serves a good cup of coffee/tea and offers a tasty selection of cakes and sandwiches. The Staff are friendly and the service is quick with a cheery thanks and goodbye when you leave. The only improvement which could be made is maybe a lick of paint as it’s looking a bit dark inside. However if the weather permits & you want to sit outside there are nice tables and an awning & heaters.

The ideal place to get an excellent coffee of your choice with a smile from the staff. If your peckish the food is good too. I also swap my books there too.

I’ve been several times here and always been impressed with th3 coffee, maybe one of their cakes or pastries, and the general atmosphere. The raspberry & coconut slice is delissh!

I’ve visited three times now and I’m impressed every time. Strong and hot coffee, delicious and hot panini, super friendly and efficient service. Some thoughtful extras too (local charity cards, lots of books to read and locally sourced milk). Definitely worth a visit.

Came here on Saturday afternoon with my mum and son, it's a lovely place to stop and relax, brilliant coffee and tasty cakes.

Cute little cafe on the high street! More seating than costa down the road but I went with my baby and found it hard to manoeuvre anywhere with my pushchair and found I could only sit in certain places due to not being able to access other tables with a pram! It's very busy which is great for them but there have been a few times when I have walked straight back out again because of the crammed tables and being unable to sit comfortably with a baby!

After an excellent visit to a local orthodontist last Friday, the heavens opened as we meandered along George Street under a randomly picked canopy. I asked my grandaughter if she'd like to sample a drink and/or cake within the canpied establishment and she was inside like a flash!

Table arrangement is bit crowded and not well-organized. However it's bookstore-design gives a comfy and cozy feelings.Staff is cheerful, efficient and helpful. This is a great place for coffee and a sandwich with fantastic cakes and delightful staff. There's a book area for people to choose a book and some newspapers to read - but why oh why does a trendy coffee shop packed with lovely customers choose to provide the Daily Mail??? And the Telegraph!! Surely there are some Guardian readers in Altrincham!! Please stop funding hate by buying the Daily Mail and then I would REALLY enjoy your coffee shop!!
