Together with my partner we visited this place for late night drinks. While my partner was at the bar purchasing drinks the waiter threw me out from the terrace as I had an empty glass from another bar. I tried to explain the waiter that my partner is at the bar purchasing drinks however he did not listen, he even became agitated that I leave. The bartender intervened however the waiter kept screaming I need to get out. It was an extremely bad experience and something I don't wish anyone. Please avoid this place like the plague if you have some self esteem.

I'm coeliac and came here twice in 2 days as I saw GF options and got pasta. It was that kind of meal where you're sad to eat it, as it tastes so amazing you don't want it to finish. This was THE BEST Gluten free pasta I've had. And I wasn't unwell after so must be good control's in the the kitchen. My other half had to stop me going every day. Thank you so much!

Comida deliciosa ya un precio razonable. Maravillosa atmósfera que te lleva de la ciudad a Sudamérica. Teníamos las croquetas de pollo a la panza de cerdo seguidas de solomillo y estofado de pescado, ¡delicioso y nos dejó muy llenos!

Tenía muchas ganas de que me gustara La Bodeguita, a menudo me he quedado cerca de Elephant & Castle y me gustaba comer allí y me encantó la idea de que hubiera un gran restaurante latinoamericano local en el centro comercial. . . pero la noche que fui, no fue una gran experiencia. Pudo haber sido auténtico, pero me atrevo a decir que hay restaurantes en Colombia donde la comida se prepara con una combinación de microondas y freidora. Tuve la Bandeja Paisa: la salchicha era decente, pero el huevo estaba flácido, la panceta estaba demasiado cocida, y aunque el plato de frijoles estaba bien para empezar, me cansé bastante rápido para ser honesto.

It was my second time coming here and tbh, it was absolutely dissapointing this time. I went there yeaterday with my friends to watch the ‘el clásico’ and we ordered drinks and food..we didn’t know the size of the food so we ordered 2 main and one side...the guy who was serving us, a second before getting our food he asked us if we want the ‘ picada colombiana ‘ which we wanted to try at first before knowing how big was the portion.The we wanted to try to cancel the order and he said that is wasn’t be poasible to do that ‘cause the command is already in the kitchen 🤷🏻‍♀️In which resto you can’t cancel an order? We let it go and try to eat everything since no one wants to leave the food there or take it home.The bill came and we saw the service charge was included, and tbh,I didn’t want to leave any tip or even pay the service charge ‘cause they didn’t deserve it for the service we’ve got.I asked him and he said that since we are four it’s a must. Let me tell you : Compulsory service charge Some restaurants add a compulsory service charge to your bill, and others leave it to your discretion. In essence you have the right to refuse to pay the service charge in either circumstance if the service falls below a reasonable standard. If a service charge is compulsory, the restaurant must make this clear before you eat. For example, by stating this on menus it has in the window or by telling you verbally. If the restaurant fails to do so, then you can argue that the compulsory service charge does not form part of your contract. “Consumer right act 2015” He failled in everything,telling us about the service charge, the size of the picada colombiana charging us the biggest one without letting us know about the portion of the food in addition of this he charged us £20 for the plate when in the menu it says that it was around £15.The best part was when we tried to explain about our experience he just nodled and said “ I’ve been working in this industry 20 years, I never make any mistake” well let me tell you, I literally told him that my girlfriend has an onion allergy and we asked him about what dishes she can eat ,since she loves patacones I ordered her one and he told us literally “ I recomend you the patacones with carne mechada which it doesn’t contain onion” he almost eat it and give her a hard time if my friend didn’t eat it first and saw the onion on it. I see the “ I never fail “ service he has. This is not a joke, it’s about life a bout life and death,you should be aware about this kind of stuff and staff. Really dissapointed about the service,place ( it’s really cold inside there is no heat at all).

A classic in Elephant and Castle. I went there with my Colombian girlfriend as we wanted to have dinner to follow by a nice Latin party afterward. The food was delicious, the king prawns with the garlic sauce were super tasty. The service from Beto was excellent, he recommended the best dishes and was very attentive to us. At around 11 pm the restaurant transforms itself into a Salsa night club so we didn't need to move to another place. It was an awesome night! Can't wait for our next visit!  

Ended up at this place by accident: thought I was booking another Colombian restaurant in the neighbourhood, and only realised when I turned up at the tube station! Anyway, it was a happy accident and ended up being much better than the place that I was intending to book! For starters, the owner was very welcoming of my group of six. The place was buzzing when we arrived on a Saturday evening just before Christmas - great music with some background music and chatty groups of friends and family catching up. Service was speedy and efficient. The food was very well done. We started off with a selection of tapas style starters to share, which went down so well that we ordered more. I had Salmon Latino for my main course and it was really tasty and a generous portion. The price was pretty reasonable for all that we ate and drank. I’d go back again - it’s easy to find, and perfect for a big group of friends who want to get together and try something a bit different.

Visited here spontaneously on a Saturday night without a booking. We appreciated that they managed to accommodate us, and we never felt rushed to leave or order. Aside from the illegal football being shown, the atmosphere is great with ilve music ect. Food is very average for the price you pay and the quality of it, though I did like the empanadas alot. The plantain is rock solid, so avoid it at all costs.

My boyfriend and I live in Reading, we decided to spent the day at Richmond Park and then have some Colombian food, as I am Colombian but unfortunately don't have any Latin restaurant in Reading. Anyway we found La Bodeguita on Google and were very happy to find out that it was still open as we were a Monday night ( 9.30pm). The food was nice and the portion quite massive. The waiter that served us was extremely kind and always very smily. They were really happy to hear that we came from another city to come and eat there and made us feel really good, not to mention that they had a really nice gesture with us at the end. Muchas gracias a todos, volveremos pronto

One small empanada cost £1.90 which seems expensive. We also ordered Picada Colombian which was salty, fatty and sat heavy in our stomachs. The chicken escalope was large but not interesting.

There's a little street restaurant near the Elephant and Park Tube Station that had the best quick bites! We went there after a long day of exploring the city and we were not disappointed by what we ate. Not sure what they were all called (I know the empanada), but do yourself a favor and get everything in the picture. Delish!!

He estado yendo a La Bodeguita por años y honestamente puedo decir que es uno de mis lugares favoritos en Londres. He estado allí por 2 Copas del Mundo, muchos almuerzos y cenas y un montón de bebidas. Me encanta. Es como un pequeño colombiano en el corazón de Londres y la comida es deliciosa y el personal es amable y acogedor (posiblemente debido a estar con colombianos, pero de cualquier manera). Como un gringo que ama a América Latina, honestamente puedo responder que todos deben entrar y probar algo, lo más probable es que no te arrepientas. También asegúrate de probar un poco de aguardiente: P no te preocupes, te acostumbras, ¡solo te llevará unos años! Al final de la cena, mueven todas las mesas para hacer una pista de baile, tocan una excelente música sudamericana y todos están de muy buen humor y ¡usted baila toda la noche! Tendré algunos cumpleaños aquí!

The worst food I have had in a very long time. We ordered the nachos to begin - bag tortilla chips, guacamole (and I use that word loosely) squirted out of a squeeze bottle, some warm white tasteless stuff that I think was supposed to be cheese, then covered with a strange salsa that tasted a lot like ketchup. We had a very hard time communicating to the waitress that we wanted 2 margaritas - I had to point it out on the menu. Our margaritas were small and had so much salt on the rim and in the glass we were not able to finish them nor could we eat the nachos. Needless to say we did not order dinner.

Fuimos a comer un sábado. Muy buena comida colombiana, muchas opciones y grandes porciones. El ambiente es muy agradable, un restaurante tradicional colombiana de la familia. Música agradable.

We vistited this place with a few friends for drinks and tapas. From the get go the service was appalling, waited a while to get seated only to then be shoved into a small corner or the restaurant. Again waited a considerable time to get our orders taken. Food and drinks arrived but it wasn’t long until the receipt was thrown onto our table, we hadn’t even finished or had asked for the cheque. We felt that we were being shoved out and not were unable to enjoy ourselves withiut feeling rushed. All in all a very disappointing experience, rude staff and terrible service.

Solía venir aquí mucho y siempre lo recomendaría a la gente como un gran lugar colombiano con buena comida y ambiente. La familia estaba de visita, así que decidimos mostrar este lugar. Muy decepcionado, en el espacio de un par de meses las cosas realmente amarga. La comida estaba "bien", las porciones eran mucho más pequeño de lo que recordaba (5 libras por 5 calamares). Terminamos la orden dos veces solo para estar "satisfecho". Hay una corriente constante, que pasa por el restaurante y los calentadores no funcionan correctamente. Lo mejor para mí fue el vino. El personal era rápido para recoger los platos incluso cuando otros en el partido aún estábamos comiendo. Qué pena. Nunca le recomendaremos de nuevo y no regresaré.

Went there with a friend, craving some Latin American food. Wasn't at all surprised or willing to come back. Food was ok, but the fried plantain were too hard, as if they had been warmed up at not made when ordered. Service wasn't very good, a little careless. Could be better.

Los precios son un poco más y el servicio es normal. Es un poco molesto cuando te preguntan si pueden extraer las placas tan rápidamente cuando uno está a punto de terminar la comida. No es agradable en absoluto. La música de fondo con altavoces defectuoso que la comida es incómodo. No voy a volver.

La comida nada buena,el servicio fatal ademas de todo lo anterior nos hicieron levantar de la mesa porque la tenían reservada para otras personas total muy malo,para no volver.

Typical colombian club. The staff is not great at all, excepting the security guards. The place is lovely but the other customers are not really open minded. The music is nice for an hour but quickly boring.

Work Lunch for two.We both had the Aberdeen Angus fillet steak medium rare with saute potatoes rice and vegetables. I has mushroom sauce my friend had pepper sauce.Did not wait long for food.It was superbly cooked, I could not believe what a great meal this was, tasty, well cooked, the waitresses were clean, efficient attentive and gorgeous young things.We had a few beers afterwards, so spent a couple of hours or so.We were never hassled, hurried or ignored and had a fantastic experience.The bill came to £64.90, food was £30,20 and ten pints was £28, 80, with 10% service charge.I thought it was great value for such a lovely lunch and drinkipoo afterwards.Most thoroughly enjoyed it and recommend it to everyone.We will return again.I understand that in the evenings this place is very lively and has live music.

My friends and I went for a nice meal, instead we left angry and disappointed. I ordered one of their steak dishes, which was incomplete and the steak was charred when it arrived. I had to request twice from our serving waiter that the rest of my food be served, but nothing happened. So I had to get up and ask the head waiter for the rest of my food to be served, by this time my food had gone cold. At the end when we requested our bill, our serving waiter took 50 minutes to bring the bill, we then discovered that my friend had been charged with the meal he couldn't have as they were out of ingredients for that meal. We asked for the bill to be amended accordingly. When the new bill arrived, we asked our serving waiter if we could pay immediately, which he agreed. He never came back. Instead he was walking around, talking to the chef and other people watching the football. Having deliberately avoided us for an hour, we got up and looked for the head waiter. We said weren't happy with their service and wouldn't be paying their service charge, the response we got was that they were busy. Having to stay at La Bodeguita for hours, we saw a maximum of 20 people come and go in that time. We will never go there again. We felt mistreated and the quality of food was below average. Definitely not a place to be recommended.

The new staff are very rude. I'm disappointed, as it used to be a more friendlier place. I had left my table for a minute and when I return I find they decided to give my chair to someone else. Even after consuming more than £100 of food! Worst part is, they didn't even bother to give me a chair. Not the way to treat customers!! Apart from the lazy and rude staff, the food is good.

the staff was very lazy and didn't really seem to put effort in their work. They weren't very helpful ether. Also the customers in there seemed very intolerant to people who are not from South America. I have been to South America and the people were amazing to us. But it was the opposite in this restaurant. Some customers were very rude to us. We checked out other restaurants in London and believe me, there are much better Colombian restaurants in London!

A family dinner in this nice restaurant! Lovely food, we loved all the starters, but even though we wanted to enjoy our mains all together, we couldn't because we got it in different times!

I'd never really had Colombian food before so it was interesting to try it out. I had a dish which was a mix of grilled meats. It was well seasoned and cooked. What stood out for this place was the really big portion (at least for the main course) which can be a good or a bad thing depending on how much you eat. Service was fine. Overall not a bad choice if you're looking for some hefty Colombian food.

I been here for lauch ordering with a friend couple of starters and an asada meat and a fillet, nice sauces and starters but the fillet was really undercook (asked for a medium rare came as proper rare). Price is ok but as a sud american restaurant u can found much better places.

I was here yesterday with a couple of friends at 10 pm. I must admit I love this place, the music and the atmosphere is very traditional. Transporting you to the night life of colombia. However, we order 2 plates of Picada and after eating it. We all had stomach cramps, one of my friends went home as it hit him severly. We all had a bad effect the day after. I do not recommend you to eat there at night still a good place to dance.

The food is great. However from my visit it would seem the best way to order is in Spanish, and the service can be a little slow sometimes. Still, it's a great place for a meal for lots of people.

We have been to bodeguita loads of times and it never disappoints. When visiting its always good to go on a very empty stomach as you will soon fill up with all the yummy foods. Normally i'd go for an empanada and then try to finish of a bandeja paisa (and fail) this time we went and had starters which filled us up. We ordered some empanadas (delicious as always) croquetas de pollo (very nice, a tad dry but delicious) and we ordered some nachos (the cheese for these is to die for!) and of course a couple of colombianas. I must say even though it was pretty busy (we decided to go on a saturday evening) the service was really good. The girl that served us was friendly, helpful and had an awesome memory! On other visits i would have scored lower due to the poor service i have previously received. But i am very glad this has improved hugely. Would recommend it to anyone, its soo worth it!

Went here on a Monday early evening for dinner. Wasnt particularly full so we could choose where we wished to sit.Our waiter was very helpful and attentive, checking our meal was OK and if we needed anything. All food and drinks came out in good time, especially considering that they cook on premises (you can see the chefs cooking in the kitchen). The restaurant seemed to have mostly locals and Latinos which is a good sign.The portions of food were huge and definitely could be shared by two. We had a piña colada each (the rum was strong!) which was £6.50. Most of the cocktails were the same price, but there weren't many to choose from - just the standard piña colada, mojito, caipirinha - and the waitress said that they don't make any off menu drinks, so selection is limited drinks wise. The cocktail was lovely though.For starters, I had an empanada with spicy salsa (£1.50), which was well seasoned and and spicy. We shared three patacones con guacamole (£3.50, fried plantain formed into mini bowls and filled with guacamole) and the guacamole was the best I've ever tasted. Creamy and smooth with a lime kick, well seasoned, and complemented the plantain so so well. We also shared a large bowl of nachos (£5ish) which had firm, seasoned tortilla chips, copious amounts of nacho cheese, guacamole, salsa roja, and a large helping of sliced jalapeños. This was also delicious and the best bowl of authentic, non soggy, and freshly made nachos I've had. For my main, I had bandeja paisa (Paisa Platter - £13.99), which consisted of chicharron - crispy pork belly, well cooked chorizo that wasn't tough or chewy, carne molida - beautifully seasoned ground beef, golden plantain strips fried to perfection, arroz - rice, aguacate - half an avocado, ensalada, and a large side bowl of frijoles - soft seasoned beans in a sauce. I dislike beans, pork belly and chorizo, but this meal changed the game for me! This dish also comes with a fried egg, but I ordered it without, as I am intolerant. The portions are all huge in most Colombian restaurants, and this was no exception. The platter was absolutely delicious; I spooned the beans onto the rice and over the meat to give it sauce and extra flavour. I ate about a third of the meal and asked for the rest in a box to take home, which the waiter did happily, and wrapped everything up in cling film for extra security. We stayed chatting for about half an hour after we paid the bill, and were not turfed out or made to feel uncomfortable at all.All in all, this was a great experience and I will definitely be back! 5/5 for the food, 4.5/5 for service, and 3/5 for cocktails, giving an overall rating of 4/5!

Fuimos un par de veces con motivo de nuestra estancia en Londres y la comida colombiana sabrosa y bien presentada. Comparable a los restaurantes que tenemos en Barcelona excepto en el precio, que al ser en Libras, logicamente es mas costoso. El servicio algo despistado pero amable y las porciones pequeñas para ser un colombiano que siempre son muy generosas, aunque en general, quedamos satisfechos.

I went to this restaurant to taste Colombian food for the fist time. Service and waiting times were ok, but after we were served I quickly realised having something like BBQ and nothing special. Food it self was very dry (not sure if was microwaved or not): sausage and other meats were very dry and so hard that needed effort to cut. Luckily I did not pay the bill but food as so overpriced! Won't be coming back and do not recommend.

My friend and I visited la bodeguita last weekend and the food was delicious. We had crispy empanadas, bandeja paisa, meat soup, tasty arroz con leche and chilled Colombian beer. It's not our first time eating there, in fact we have been going there for the last 20-years to both eat and dance salsa! It's perfect.

The atmosphere in this place is great.The first thing I noticed was that everybody in the restaurant was Columbian, staff AND customers which is always a good thing.My party of friends were the only English group it seemed.The food was very disappointing though. For starters we ordered 'hot & spicy prawns' which were infact freezing cold ceviche prawns... so not what we was expecting at all.We then had steak and rice for main. The rice was cold and there was literally 3 big pieces of steak on my plate with a few slices of onion and no sauce.I asked numerous times for sauce and it never came.None of the waiters or waitresses could speak fluent English which proved to be a real headache!We spent £320 between 7 of us and didn't have desserts. Agreed we wouldn't visit there again for food but once the tables were cleared around midnight,the music began and lights turned down we had a fab time dancing!Would only recommend as a club not restaurant. Came home and made myself dinner!

I had the Cazuela de Mariscos....one king prawn !!!! Other smaller prawns hidden in the rice. My wife is Colombian and periodically she likes to eat food from home. She rated the food as average, and not a place to rush back to in a hurry as we live in West London.If anything with La Bodeguita, pay for the atmosphere which I couldn't fault

First time visit on a Monday night approx 10pm , near to close . Yet still the service was good. The food was tasty, well presented and better than expected...

A delightful place with easy parking in the Elephant and Castle Shopping Centre. Lunchtimes great with a splendid menu reasonably priced. The Fish Stew is superlative and very filling. Booze not over the top and fab staff. Treat youselves to something different. Xxxx

I went to La Bodeguita with a friend as we wanted to try something new for dinner.I've been knowing there is this restaurant inside the shopping centre of Elephant and Castle for a long time but never got the chance to try it and yesterday I have to say - I made a very positive discovery.The service is very friendly and attentive and the gentlemen who served us was making us feel comfortable.The highlight was the "Salmon Latino" and all the ingredients used to complete the dish were very tasty. The Salmon was grilled perfectly with a very tasty crust and the shrimps were served within an edible little basket. The rice was nicely cooked. In total it is a very nice atmosphere and we will definitely return soon - especially when there is a live event. Thank you

went to a friends birthday as her family co-own the business. the restaurant was beyond amazing. The food was of the upmost quality and the portions were huge. I asked for a portion of pasta for 2, and the food that i received was beyond expectation, in the end it took four of my friends and i to finish of the dish we received. either i have an extremely small stomach, or that is extremely good food. the restaurant holds extremely good entertainment also. At about 1pm the staff moved all the tables and everyone started dancing latin style, it was such fun. they even sing happy birthday to you! i would definitely recommend this to people that enjoy their food, and love to dance!!!!!

Popped in for lunch as we were staying up the road. Good food, huge portions (shared a meal that said "big enough for two" and with a couple of sides, probably big enough for 3 or 4) friendly staff, great prices. The drawback for me is that I am not a fan of the fattier cuts of meat.

Hoy estuve en ese restaurante con mi Esposo y la verdad fue grande la desilusión que nos llevamos con los platos que venden relacionado con sus "precios que no son nada baratos. Mi cazuela de mariscos por poco la sirven en un pocillo (súper pequeña) y solo la "rellenan con pulpo y chipi chipi" No le vi un Camarón!! excepto el langostino que le colocan de decoración..de sabor estaba bien pero las porciones son muy muy pequeñas para el precio que cobran! Qué lástima.. Tampoco hay variedad de pescados ni platos con pollo. Sugiero mejoren ese menú y sean más razonables con las porciones de comida.

I went to this place many occations along with my Colombian friends. Always friendly stuff, Good selection of national dishes. And nicely presented and very tasty. Our last visit recently was a bit disappointing. Food was nice but not enough for main in my opinion, if we didnt have a starter before we would be definitely hungry. I felt like I am on a diet. Bill was also a bit hight for two. I wont be comming back again. Good to go once and try typical dish but not to eat if you have empty tummy.

Basic food done well. Love the cassava. Great cocktails. Great staff. The area is full of places to eat. All to change as the towers come up. Hope some will stay.

I was in there with family and kids. Food was good for the price and lovely bbq flavour . I enjoyed my meal except when they start singing!!! Music to lower to the point we can not talk on the table, and kids, with 1 year start to crying with the noise!!! For a sunday lunch is too noise!!!!

Difficult to write a long review. I went mid week for an evening meal. Very very quiet. Staff not very talkative but service was fine. I had the salmon and really enjoyed it. Experience just ok really.........

Bueno el Staff no nos atendió de lo máximo pero igual mi intento era volver a comer mi típica comida Colombiana aquí en Londres; resultado? Desilusión completa. Empanadas pequeñas de nada y por segundo una bandeja paisa sin sabor y sentido. El arroz sí sabor, los frijoles malos, el chorizo parecía más a lo estilo British y el plato no tenía mínimamente pinta de mi bandeja colombiana. Doy 2 Stars. Demasiado caro por lo que comes.

Had lot of expectations for this restaurant but turned out to be just another food joint. No traditional Colombian dishes. Service awful, big let down.

My friend recommended this place to me...I never even knew this place existed! It obviously is a community place as it was busy for a Sunday evening. Food was good and in great portions. I had food envy as another customer had lots of meat. 2 mains, water, beer and 1 dessert was just over £40. Not bad.Would go again.

I've been here a few times and always really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. However there have been a few times I've visited and been made to feel as if I was bothering the staff by simply asking to order something or enquiring about something on the menu. We ordered some drinks and 5 minutes the waiter came over prompting us to pay the bill even though we were planning to order more drinks and the restaurant wasn't closing for another hour and a half. It made us feel quite uncomfortable and unwelcome, as if they thought we were going to run off without paying!!I do really like this place but I think the staff need a little more training in customer service.

Fui con un amigo, pedimos bandeja paisa, empanadas, y patacones. La comida estuvo buena un 7.5, la atencion 8, su Wi/fi no sirve 0. Lo consider costoso teniendo en cuenta que es, sin embargo teniendo en cuenta que estamos en londres y el tamano de la porcion se con seguridad que es bastante accesiquible. Los jugos no son recomendables, tenian un gusto a guardado, y el aji no se parece nada al colombiano, se nota con total seguridad que lo guardan mucho tiempo, pues se va perdiendo el color verde fresco y se reemplaza por un café product del oxido, y concentrando su sabor. La musica fue Buena, hasta que pusieron pop espanol y pues vamos uno no va alla a escuchar eso, esperaba otra cosa.

Went here with a friend earlier this week and was pleasantly surprised. It's in the middle of the ever glamorous Elephant & Castle shopping centre. Once you have navigated the 1980s time warp that is those environs, you find a flag bedecked latino (Colombian) styled place.We had some beers and a few Empanadas (Colombian meat patties), which were very good, in a mildly hot sauce. Although the atmosphere seems a little lacking, that was probably because it's a fairly large space and it wasn't particularly full.The staff were courteous, if a little bit distracted. Overall, despite its uninspiring surroundings, this place does give a nice Latino boost, amongst the concerete monstrosity that is Elephant & Castle. I would recommend it, but only if you unfortunately find yourself in the vicinity.

Latin atmosphere with flags and Spanish tv. Descent starters tasty mains. Good to see local Latinos choosing this place. Value for money considering it's London.

Chic venue for trendy tourists. The menu is expensive for what it is-but I love this place and my spaghetti carbonara was delicious.Staff friendly and fast. Very impressed.

La atmosfera del sitio es encantadora y muy agradable, el encargado un señor que le va mucho al sitio y muy atento. La calidad de los productos de la carta (pues hemos probado muchos) excelente y el precio no es exagerado y se puede considerar asequible. Ademas la carta no es super extensa y lo que tienen lo tienen de primera calidad, además que de un tiempo a esta parte están introduciendo variedades en la carta, quitan una cosa y ponen otra o esa cosa que ya estaba la cocinan de forma y guarnición diferente, y eso es un punto muy a su favor. En resumen todo muy muy rico y de calidad.

They have a number of good options but sometimes the service can be a little slow or the waiter give me the impression they do not care.
