Restaurant ÖRME in Trafford

Booked for an anniversary dinner but due to poorly child had to cancel the morning of. £45 charge to cancel a table within 48 hours! We hadn't even booked 48 hours in advance so I don't think they should be too worried about not filling the table. Rude and overpriced, won't be re-booking.

Superb. There’s no other adjective that does justice to this relatively young restaurant . It’s our third visit for my wife and I, and this time we chose the 10 course taster menu . £75 pp and worth every penny. We also treated ourselves to the wine pairing which was a delight. Not only is the food and drink exceptional but so is the ambience and the whole vibe of this small (22 covers I think) , intimate restaurant. The staff are a real credit to the business, too. Rachel, the sommelier, is so knowledgeable regarding the wines and is always happy to answer any questions. Jack, the chef, so friendly and talented, and the waitress (sorry but I can’t remember her name!!) so engaging with the diners. If ‘taster menu’ style dining is your cup of tea then you MUST give this place a try soon. It’s top class dining without the sky high prices charged by some.

Genuinely one of the best restaurants I've visited. Excellent quality food with great service and a relaxed atmosphere. Not a big fan of tasting menus because you normal end up still hungry afterwards - not the case here. Brilliant value for money. Great vegetarian menu also. Keep up the good work!

We absolutely loved our dinner at Orme! It’s great to visit somewhere that has a relaxed atmosphere but gorgeous food. I really appreciated the menu choices too- it was great to have the pescatarian menu which wasn’t too dissimilar to their normal menu. This meant my husband and I could enjoy very similar dishes.

This restaurant is a firm family favourite now. Our go to place for a treat. When we visited we decided to go for the 8 course taster menu, & we were so pleased we did. The standard was outstanding, as we'd expected. So many things on the menu I'd have loved to eat more of. 😄 My husband thoroughly enjoyed the wine pairing for this menu. My favourites? It's hard to choose but the parfait was unbelievably delicious, & so was the salt aged beef tartare. 😘👌🏼 I really hope I get to eat them again in the future! Excellent food at a fair price.

Four of us started with a G&T outside in the sunshine and then were treated to a beautiful to an exciting and unusual tasting menu and wine pairing. The Staff were friendly, fun, attentive and knowledgeable. Lovely atmosphere and a very comfortable space.

An excellent afternoon spent at Örme. The food was incredible and paired well with wine pairing menu. All of the dishes from the core tasting menu were delicious but the stand out ones were the BBQ sweetcorn, roasted trout, roasted duck crown and blackcurrant sorbet. The knowledge of the staff on the food, their ingredients and the wine/wineries was excellent.

First visit and won’t be the last. This Independent Restaurant deserves its Michelin status and some! Choice of Tasting Menus is excellent and quality of food and presentation is incredible. The Restaurant is a lovely space, comfortable and welcoming. Service from the staff is impeccable, friendly and informative……..value for money is off the scale, can’t recommend highly enough.

Having just been to restaurant Orme,in darkest Urmston (been to Wales in winter) must be one of the finest experiences I've had and have been to a few good places,a true balance of food and wine great job all round 👍 😀

My hubby and I went in February to celebrate my birthday. Where to start ! Each course was carefully put together to achieve maximum flavour ,presentation and texture ,we had the 6 course plus 2 supplementary courses ,with wine pairing.The food was absolutely exquisite ,yes,the portions are small but adequate ,and the flavours are incredible which considering so many courses,if portions were bigger the cost would be much higher ,as each course clearly requires fine ingredients ,skill in preparation and presentation. The sommelier was superb,great knowledge and happy and knowledgeable re any questions. We booked a repeat visit for may ,but had to cancel due to last minute holiday booking . Well worth every penny ,a superb dining experience from start to finish ,can't wait to go again .

Food was absolutely fantastic (the snacks really set the tone!) and the wine pairing was worth it. The service was warm, friendly and knowledgeable so we could ask quesitons without ever feeling stupid! The overall atmosphere was relaxed, helped by the indie soundtrack, so we could enjoy our meal without ever feeling like we were out of place. Look forward to visiting again.

Had heard such great things about the food and service and so decided to have a special outing to focus on food that is unique and expands the tastebuds. Went to lunch and had the Highlights menu and every step of the way was a taste sensation. Well worth the money and felt special and full after 1 1/2 hrs of the best food I have had in a restaurant. I would totally recommend treating yourself and a friend.

This was a real dining experience and nothing at all to compare to within the rest of Urmston restaurants. Highly recommend the wine pairing with the food courses and fish courses were swopped for the veggie options with no fuss at all. lovely to chat with the chef re his journey to having the restaurant open last year and we wish Orme great success.

Great restaurant. My friends and I did the small taster menu. All the dishes were amazing, and such good value. We shared a bottle of wine, they had our favourite Verde on the menu. The staff were lovely, attentive and helpful. We had a great night and can't wait to go again.

Well worth the trip to deepest darkest Urmston! Fantastic tasting menu which will tempt you to add further dishes - Do give in to temptation. Everything was perfectly conceived and expertly cooked. Relaxed atmosphere, knowledgeable staff, particularly the sommelier whose wine flight was exceptional - whiskey blended with plum sake anyone? Wow

Been wanting to try this place for ages so was pleased to have managed to reserve a table on a Saturday night. We went for the 6 course tasting menu which pretty much had 2 starters, 2 mains and 2 desserts. As a coeliac it’s always hard to trust places but these guys didn’t disappoint. The waiting staff were really knowledgable and the majority of the tasting menu was gluten free so I didn’t have many changes to my partners meal. All the dishes were delicious! We will be back in the future.

I didn’t expect to love it here as much as I did. I’m quite a basic eater. Everything was outstanding, especially the cheese course. The wine, service, atmosphere and food were all perfect. Looking forward to coming back.

Quirky little neighbourhood restaurant in Urmston. We tried the 6 course tasting menu plus 2 extra dishes as a supplement, so 8 dishes in total. We also had the drinks pairing, which I thought was very good and worked well with the dishes. The food is good, but nothing special in my opinion. Portions are tiny, literally 3 spoonfuls at best. Unfortunately we left still hungry. Service is polite and professional, but we found it to be slow as it took 3 hours for the 8 small courses. We spent north of £250 for 2 people, would we go back, probably not.

Visited for lunch. £40 4 course tasting menu you can add additional courses to at extra cost, and matched wines/perry for additional £28 (+ with additional courses). Gorgeous food, beautifully presented but small servings (both food and wine/perry) and becomes very expensive when add additional courses/wine. Would recommend for a special occasion and would go back but perhaps skip matched drinks.

I absolutely love this place! I’ve had the tasting menu at Higher Ground twice now and while they get all the hype, the food at Orme is better. Every course was interesting, delicious and beautifully presented.

Magnificent food and very friendly staff

Our experience at Orme was truly incredible! Every course was so exciting and flavourful & it’s apparent how much passion they put into crafting their menu! We can’t wait to come back and try some more of their amazing dishes. The staff were so lovely and attentive and made the experience even more special!

My girlfriend took me for my birthday and I couldn't have been happier. Lovely food, great service and comfortable atmosphere.

Excellent tasting menu, easily as good as menus we've paid twice as much for. We opted for the wine pairing too which I'd recommend, though others in our party had cocktails instead which were great too. Staff were very attentive and friendly and it was a nice atmosphere. We had to book a few months in advance to get a weekend table, but it was worth the wait!

I have visited this restaurant five times now, so I'm slightly ashamed it's taken this long for me to write a review. The wait does mean though, that as well as writing about the delicious food, attentive service and beautiful environment, I can say that the food is consistently delicious, the service is consistently friendly and attentive, and the restaurant is consistently an inviting and relaxing place to eat. I can't recommend this restaurant enough, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit. Thank you to all the team for looking after us and always making it a wonderful experience.

We live within walking distance to Orme and feel very lucky to have such a wonderful restaurant on our doorstep! The attention to detail with every course was spectacular, and the taste and journey it takes you on is amazing. Portions are small, but service was paced perfectly, so when put together throughout the night we left feeling just nicely full! Service was great, and ambiance just right as semi formal but in no way pretentious. We left trying to find reasons to return!

We couldn't fault Orme. We had an amazing meal and the wine pairing was spot on to compliment the meal. We have been really looking forward to spending the evening there and booked a while in advance so had high expectations but it didn't disappoint. As a couple one of us was a vegetarian and the other a regular meat eater and both tasting menus were top notch. The Eccles Tart Cheese course was out of this world. The front of house staff were very welcoming and we had some amazing flavours and combinations we hadn't had before. It was a wonderful treat for us and we'll definitely be back.

Having heard nothing but amazing things, we decided to treat ourselves and have a meal out. I can sum up our experience with one word: Exquisite We went with the wine pairing which I can't recommend enough, each wine so different but really brought the dishes (which were already exceptional) to life. We also opted for one of the supplement dishes of smoked cod, and this was unanimously our favourite. The hosts were polite, friendly and very knowledgeable. This was a real treat and we'll definitely be back!

Really amazing experience dining here today. Been to a lot of 1 / 2 Michelin star places through out Europe and so nice to have such epic food in a chilled informal environment. Everything looked and tasted great. A lot of work goes into cooking everything perfectly. We always dine out with a friend who is a bit of a bellend to serve and the staff here clocked him straight away and got involved in the banter. Defo be back!

One of my most favourite things about here is that we weren’t surrounded by people taking pictures of every course because everyone was just too busy enjoying the food to pause & photograph it. The restaurant; The evening; The food. It is all picture perfect - it looks spectacular & tastes even better. You run out of words to say how good each course is - the contrast within each dish of tastes & textures is phenomenal. It’s a beautifully relaxed atmosphere with some of the best food we have eaten in years. We booked again before we left & still have to wait 7 weeks for our next visit, it’s that popular. An incredible evening & neither of us can wait to visit again.

We came here to celebrate my husband's birthday, after hearing rave reviews from our daughter & son in law, & we were not disappointed. The restaurant isn't big, so you have to book in advance if you want a specific date. We've already booked again for my birthday in May! Great food, beautifully presented, & served by friendly & efficient staff. We both enjoyed all the courses, but my absolute favourite was the beef tartare, (a supplement dish costing £9,) something I'd never had before because I'm generally not a beef lover, & if I have it, I like my steak well done, so it was a gamble my husband was hoping he'd win. ..... I couldn't believe how amazing it tasted! It was so good I didn't want to swallow it, & lose those flavours! I couldn't believe it, & neither could my husband. I cannot rave about this wonderful, gastronomic gem enough, although all the dishes were wonderful. (I had both supplementary dishes too.😘👌🏼) My husband had the wine pairings. He loved the wines, & the little notes he was given about each one. A nice touch. We have eaten at The French in The Midland hotel a couple of times, & their food is absolutely amazing too. It looks like there's a new kid in town, & at less than half the price, definitely one worth visiting. Keep up the excellent work Örme. I just need to put an alarm on my phone to make sure we get to pre book a table for the dates we require. Thank you everyone who pulled it all together seamlessly. We had a lovely evening & we will see you again in May, if not before. Some dishes didn't get photographed as I ate them before realising I'd forgotten to take a picture. Oops! Too tasty. 🤷🏼‍♀️

If you love delicious food, you have to try this restaurant out. It has an excellent tasting menu, & is well worth the money. Lovely, friendly, & efficient staff, in a nice setting. My husband enjoyed his food with the very tasty wine matching, delivered & poured by an excellent Sommelier with lots of interesting information. I loved all the dishes, & particularly enjoyed the steak tartare, which was a first for me, & hopefully something I will be able to try here again very soon. (It was an optional extra dish at £9.) It was so good I ordered the other optional dish, with a deliciously slice of Hebridean blue, which was very nice too. Every dish was a wonderful treat, with great flavours! 😘👌🏼 Definitely a 5* experience for your taste buds. We will return very soon!

Wow what a treat! Came here for lunch and it was not a disappointment. Would absolutely go back and can't wait to. It was extremely surprising how fresh and delicious everything was. Our absolute favourites were the smoked salmon spring rolls and the trout. We ordered the beef tartare to share for a supplement and so glad we did. My only tiny criticism (which wouldn't stop me recommending the place regardless) was the pork rib was a bit too fatty for my liking but I think that's down to personal taste more than anything. Service was also exceptional

I was going to complain about the music but to be fair they have warned me on their website. What disappoints me here is that despite the wonderful quality food at superb value this place conspires to be so like so many restaurants in Mcr with the same vibe. The cooking is exceptional but the experience is very ordinary....

Finally found an excuse to treat ourselves to a visit to Orme. Everything was absolutely delicious, I loved every mouthful. The staff were lovely and friendly and I was supplied with a pescatarian menu as requested. We will definitely be back!

We have only recently heard of the Restaurant Örme in Urmston where we ate last night. It is a tasting menu (£55) which you can and should accompany with the wineflight (£38). Both are Michelin star standard. For what you get the prices are cheap and the wine flight is generous. It opened only last year and was packed last night and has a waiting list for dinner. it is s superb. With notice it caters for gluten free, pescatarians and vegetarians. GO! NOW!

I had my birthday meal here yesterday, we enjoyed it very much, every single dish from the taster menu is a completely different experience.

We had the taster menu which was unique and a great birthday treat. Smart casual affair. Friendly staff. Would go again.

This new(ish) little place had such great reviews, it was difficult to resist trying! It was casual and comfortable, and I loved the way they set the table, with a little stack of utensils for each person. It was very pragmatic and you could use whatever implement you liked without paying heed to “rules”… although my friend did manage to knock hers over a few times in one evening. The service was also very good and staff very attentive. Some may argue that they were a little “unpolished” but I quite like the lack of “pomp”. The tasting menu was interesting. Every single item was well executed and enjoyable, but when put together, the menu was not well balanced. Everything just felt too heavy altogether. This is going to sound very odd… I found myself loving every single course, but not the entire meal overall. This is definitely a place to keep an eye out.The chefs are definitely talented and I can’t help but feel that as the restaurant establishes itself, things will get better and better.

Absolutely amazing evening. Staff were welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. The restaurant was warm and inviting- it was an extremely cold night and often places can feel cold but not here! The food in the taster menu was out of this world! Every course was so tasty and presented beautifully. We didn’t have the drinks pairing but the wine we chose went very well with the food. How lucky are we to have such a fabulous restaurant nearby- we will definitely be returning!

Been wanting to go here since they opened, finally got a table. Heard and read great things about this place. I can see now why it's got such high praise and why it's worth waiting to get a booking. From the moment we entered the place was so inviting, the service was excellent. As for the food it was incredible, not one bad course, I opted for the extra course of pheasant, which I'm so glad I did it was one of my favourites. I've been to quite a few tasting menus and this was up there as one of my favourites. The place has a lovely homely family vibe, the chef/owner came out and chatted to us about one of the courses and we ended up chatting for a little, really nice guy. This is such an amazing addition to Urmston and deserves all the success. Get booked in and you won't be disappointed. We will be returning for the next convenient available slot.

Great attentive service, and the chefs are undoubtedly very talented. The taster menu is a great introduction to their talents. The dished were so good it was a shame they were over in a few mouthfuls. Wanted more food, especially on the main dish, but that's taster menus, and it's inexpensive, so that's fine. Would return when they introduce more substantial dishes. A lovely neighbourhood restaurant we are lucky to have. Lighting is bleak.

I’m a massive foodie and love tasting menus but often feel they’re only served in pretentious settings with a hefty price tag. Orme exceeded our expectations, the atmosphere was casual and laidback playing great music. The service was spot on and the food was sensational. The star of the show was the venison, with a super posh “cottage pie” on the side it took me to flavour town and I couldn’t stop smiling. I love how the ingredients are seasonal, and even the veg dishes were just unbelievable. Could not fault anything and will definitely be back. Thanks team

Finally succeeded in getting a table and it was worth the wait. What can I say! Delicious, interesting tasting menu with a fascinating drinks pairing. Service was polite, friendly and efficient with two lovely ladies working their socks off on a busy Friday evening. As someone who has eaten and drunk for living quite honestly one of the best meal I have had in a long time.

WOW, WOW and WOW! What an absolutely fantastic place Õrme is! We came for a girls lunch and it exceeded all our expectations by a long shot. We had the tasting menu, extra supplements, cocktails and the wine paring and it was just outstanding on every level. The food was off the scale in its creativity, presentation and taste - every mouthful was sheer deliciousness. The wine pairing was just perfect and it was great to see the passion they had in their wine choices. The restaurant was welcoming and service bang on. This is now my new favourite and I / we will be back again VERY soon. Well done Team Örme, it was just a glorious afternoon of deliciousness, great service and a wonderful experience- thank you 🙏🏻

We love a taster menu and this did not disappoint. The food was fantastic from start to finish, we did the full works with the two added courses and the drinks pairing. The staff are great and the cosy friendly atmosphere made for a lovely evening. I'd say this is one of the best taster menus in Manchester second only to The French but at half the price.

Promising start for tasting menu in Urmston. Pros: . Great space and restaurant . Venison cookery was spot on . Loads of interesting options Cons: . A lot of similar flavours are used in different dishes . Some flavours didn't really go and lacked punch . A few dishes need refining. Base is there, but still needs developing. Great start from Örme and hoping to see how it develops.

An absolute gem in the suburbs! Delicious tasting menu, really well explained in an unpretentious way that is simply delicious. The drinks pairings are wonderful and they will adapt the dishes if, for example, you don’t like shellfish. It is a treat! So excited to see what this young team will go on to achieve.

We saw a write up online and decided to travel from Stoke to try. Very glad that we did. Lovely relaxed restaurant serving beautiful food and good wine. A gem of a find. If you enjoy a tasting menu then this place is for you.

Blown away how good the food was. Anniversary meal but will be coming back for more. Excellent pairing wine and liqueurs. Could not fault this in any way. Outstanding.

Love the idea of this restaurant and most of the food was delicious, however the main course which was beef was so undercooked and chewy we were unable to eat it half of it. The waitress looked at the plates and didn't ask if the food was ok just said can I clear these. Every other course that we ate where we finished the plates we were asked how it was. They were winding down for a week off and it felt like we got the leftover beef. The downside to a tasting menu is what happens if there is something on there you don't like. They served marmite butter - a bold move as it could alienate half your clientele and the cauliflower was cooked in marmite. Neither of these were mentioned on the menu and would have put me off booking.

Very tasty food in small bites 😋. You can add supplements and paired wine at extra cost . This is a destination special occasion place and is priced to reflect this. Glad to see it busy as a really good addition to Urmston eateries. We had a nice bottle of wine and the 6 course tasting menu, we both particularly enjoyed the fish dish and the strawberry, honeycomb and lime desert.

Amazing! So nice to have a decent vegetarian tasting option. All food was delicious (meat or not). Service was impeccable.

Booked this based on reviews and the hype that is circulating at the moment but sadly very disappointed with the whole experience. On the face of it, the tasting menu does look good value at £45pp but that is only six courses which, when you factor in the actual size of the size of the dishes means you’ll leave hungry. You could have an extra two dishes but that is a supplement of £18. After adding the English Wine option (£45pp) and drinks to start and finish, we were left with a bill of £275 for two people yet feeling wholly underwhelmed by the food. The drinks are very good but still City Centre prices. I think everyone in Urmston wants to see new restaurants succeed, but sadly I can’t see people returning unless the portion sizes/value for money issued are addressed.

6 of us went as a treat. Lovely staff, tasty food but ridiculously overpriced for the portion sizes. The supplementary duck course is perfect example, the total amount of duck on all 6 plates was less than half a duck breast and they charged us £66!!!!!!! All of us were hungry again 3 hours later! Needless to say, won't be going again unless they make some changes.

Phenomenal. We had the tasting menu and the accompanying British wines. The food was excellent - some of the best I've had in Manchester. The service was superb as well: our waitress was knowledgeable, and listening to the sommelier was an entertainment in itself - she was very informative. Having a restaurant this good in Urmston is a real treat. Expensive, but worth it, and it'll be a meal you talk about for a long time afterwards!

Had the taster meal here and it was amazing. Food, service and atmosphere all top notch without being pretentious. Just like on the t.v. the chef himself brought the main dishes to the table and explained what they were. Delicious! Not a cheap evening but...

Absolutely fantastic food. Varied taster menu which was wonderful and extremely good value at £45 per head and an optional supplement for additional course. Wine flight enjoyable value. Choice of both wine and beer in Alcohol free. With regular changes to the menu this will be a regular choice. Makes a change to small plates and definitely can give manchester restaurants a rub for their money

Absolutely fabulous meal at Örme. The food was outstanding. Sometimes fine dining restaurantsbgat so carried away with themselves and forget the food beeds to be tasty. This didn't happen here. It was delicious from the first bite to the last. Matching drinks were great too. We will be back.

Ssshhhh, Urmston has an amazing little restaurant! Had a fantastic meal here, we added the additional dishes and had the wine float. Each dish was delicious, well presented, tasty and we left feeling full after sampling a great range of dishes. I'd highly recommend having the wine course, each wine was well introduced and complemented the meal superbly. Great to see this in Urmston and it was busy with a great atmosphere, good background tunes as well! I thought it was excellent value for money considering the quality of the food and the wine. The service is great and pleasing to see local people who care about the area working to such high standards. Can't wait to go back and try a new menu!

Visited Orme 7/7/23, food was exceptional, service exceptional. Having been I now know why Orme is receiving outstanding reviews & getting noticed. I could not pick a favourite from the 7 dishes I had as each one was incredible. We will be revisiting.

Food was tasty, intetesting and beautifully presented. We had the tasting menu and thought and thought it was good value for money. The wine list has a great selection of English wines too which is great to see. We will be back! Thanks Orme

Comfortably the best food I have ever eaten in Manchester. The mussels and chicken were easily up there with some of the best dishes I’ve tried at Michelin starred restaurants. Excellent value and service. Can’t wait to go back.

Dined here last night with my fiancé and it was incredible. The food was outstanding. Start to finish, everything was perfect. The mussel dish was good enough to rival any Michelin star dish and the final dessert was amazing. Service was impeccable, wine was paired very well and explained before each glass was poured. Had a nice chat with the chef towards the end of the meal who was very down to earth and humble. This place is an absolute gem and can’t rate it highly enough. We’ll definitely be back soon.

Oh how I wish I had enough money to come here every month when the menu changes. What a pure treat for the senses, from the decor, to the music, to the drinks and of course the food. The silence when the food arrived and was being eaten speaks volumes, only to be broken by the occasional ‘wow’, ‘mmmmm’ and ‘oh my god this is good’. I wished I could eat the same dish twice, just to re-live the taste all over again. The wine and knowledgable explanations that came with it was exquisite and the waiting staff were to be commended for their understanding of the menu, fabulous service and understated friendliness. Hats off to the chefs for putting together such a sensation for the taste buds. Just wonderful.
