Restaurant Mayfield House in Wiltshire

Great service, limited menu. Unfortunately no fish which knocks out 3 items on menu. The lamb shank, burger, korma and chicken were all well received. Really enjoyed comfortable outside seating with very friendly service. Also, 2 draught Adnam beers which were good.

Su besugo estaba bien y tuve jamón, huevo y puré, que no era algo que normalmente elegiría por la noche, pero era increíblemente sabroso, con un jamón italiano al estilo Parma. . . . . . diferente y funcionó! ! Buen pastel de queso para seguir, ya que no había tenido un entrante (!?!?!). Claramente, sin embargo, ¿Rob the Chef tiene un ojo talentoso para lo inusual? La comida es buena. Tienen un chef decente. Creo que la intención es ofrecer comidas de alto nivel con servicio de camareros, pero los camareros tenían un poco de energía. En ningún momento nos preguntaron si queríamos tomar una copa y bebimos el agua de mesa toda la noche. Dado que las bebidas son donde estos lugares hacen su dinero, esto es un poco sorprendente. No era horrible, solo sentía que faltaba algo.

Esta fue una extraña. Vimos una señal de té con crema y decidimos parar. 2 autos 3 en uno y 5 en los otros. El primer pedido quiere sin problemas, pero después de que entró el segundo, salieron y dijeron que sería otra hora, deberíamos haber reservado previamente y el primer pedido estaba listo. ? ? ? ? ? Todo fue mano izquierda sin saber lo que está haciendo la derecha. ¿Por qué tener una señal cuando necesitas reservar con anticipación? Nunca he tenido que reservar un té con crema antes. Los dedos sarnies, pasteles y tés de crema eran geniales. La vergüenza y los intentos de resolver las cosas también fueron meritorios, no solo dijeron "desmenuzarlo", intentaron. Pero solo puedo dar 3 estrellas porque estaba muuuy desorganizado. Estoy seguro de que si actúan juntos, habría alcanzado un 4 y si fuera un poco menos costoso, incluso un 5. Así que no olvides PRE RESERVAR

He vivido a unas pocas millas de distancia por más de 40 años, tiempo durante el cual hemos probado varios lugares de "Almuerzo dominical". Muchos de los cuales han sido excelentes. Pero independientemente del precio, ninguno de ellos se codea con el Almuerzo servido en The Mayfield. Por un precio muy razonable, no solo obtendrá una situación relajante con un bar tranquilo para tomar una bebida antes del almuerzo. Usted recibe un buen servicio a la antigua de su atento personal encantador. Pero, por supuesto, el evento principal es la comida y la presentación, que es absolutamente excelente. Porciones generosas de hermosa y jugosa Beef Rump con riquísimos asados y un montón de encantadoras verduras frescas servidas por separado. Una pequeña jarra de salsa extra lo hizo simplemente perfecto. El almuerzo del domingo en The Mayfield es una manera encantadora de puntuar el fin de semana. Un verdadero placer. Really enjoyed our meal here, the food was excellent, the menu choice good and the staff helpful and friendly.

We stayed here for 2 nights on a half board basis and although the restaurant menu was limited, the presentation and quality of the meals is very good. It may be a little overpriced, but if you include the board basis in your room reservation it works out good value to stay and eat. Breakfast sets you up for the day and hot cross buns over Easter was a lovely touch.

One of the best steaks ever. All produce is locally sourced and very well cooked and presented. Breakfast is to die for.

We dined for three nights at the Mayfield and spoke to a number of people who dine there regularly, we found the food and service ecellent and this was echoed by the other diners we spoke to. Faultless and we will, when in the area certainly dine there again, and again.

As non meat eaters, we are always wary of restaurants, but this had so much choice for both meat and non meat eaters. The chefs have a real flair, beautiful presentation, good portions and very tasty food. Breakfasts were amazing also, as well as dinner in the evening.

Somewhat dated hotel and rooms but food not bad. Went on a business trip and this was perfectly decent food.

We stayed in October, on a half board basis. Breakfasts were delicious, lots of variety. Great local produce on offer. Dinners were superb, try their specialities, couple of surprises but very interesting and tasty. A Caeser salad like nothing I've had before. Truly excellent. If anything, some of the portions were a little too much, but better that than too little.

We thought an accessible room had been booked, but sadly that was not the case. We were shown and offered a very small room on the ground floor with a shower over the bath, which was not suitable, so we opted for room #2 upstairs. This room needs an immediate makeover. The bed springs were felt through the mattress, there is a camber halfway through the bedroom, the tattered armchair should not even be in the room, and the bathroom...smell of damp, and lino split in front of the “accessible” shower. There is a drop of approx one foot to get into it. Hardly a walk in shower. The staff were friendly enough. However it seemed that the visiting bridge club had been given the wrong breakfast menu...the arguments from the kitchen area were very audible and should have been managed in a better way. I have not had to write a review where only one star is warranted, and this one star was for the poached eggs at breakfast.

Very nice choice but think it maybe slightly expensive if not part of your hotel deal. Quality we has would match any bistro pub

This month we enjoyed a buffet. It was delightful and is well recommended. Generous portions of good food was much appreciated.

I lead a group of 14 people from the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club, Lincs North Region staying for 2 nights. We had excellent Rooms, Dinners and Breakfasts with friendly waiting staff, unlike the previous 2 nights at Bosworth Hall Hotel, see that review.

Lovely staff food cooked perfectly, lovely quiet surroundings too We also ate there one evening and were very satisfied

Terrible food straight out of the freezer. Also, took over an hour for main course to arrive and restaurant wasn't even that busy.

Our meal was part of the stay package, 3 courses, Smoked Wood Pigeon Breast,tender and delicious.Next a melt in the mouth Lamb Shank on a a creamy potato bed, to finish a yummy Treacle Pudding. The others had equally tasty Venison Terrine, and Grilled Goats Cheese, then Herb Crusted Pollack and Calves Liver with Bacon, then Panacotta and Apple and Raspberry Crumble. All in all a tasty meal.

Stop one night with friends at Mayfield Hotel and had breakfast the following morning. Food was very good, particularly the cooked breakfasts.

We had fish which was beautifully presented, plus other dishes which had all been prepared with care and were very enjoyable

Lovely dining facility, delicious food, good menu choice and excellent service, iced water jug on each table; nothing to fault!

I visited the Mayfield for their Pizza evening which has just started (July time). The pizzas came out in good time, were fresh, crisp and very delicious! It was exciting to see that these were cooked in an authentic pizza stone oven. The staff are friendly and the prices are good (£7-£10 each). Flavours included your classic margarita to chorizo and chicken. Would highly recommend!

El personal es muy amable y no podía hacer lo suficiente. Las habitaciones eran funcionales y bastante normalito, no esperábamos otra cosa. El servicio de comida y el servicio de habitación era rápido y bueno. Las porciones de comida era más que adecuado. Aparcamiento grande y muy fácil negociar alrededor. Unos más signos ayudaría.

El restaurante está en un edificio antiguo, con paredes de piedra y probablemente fue el establo o similar. Hay un menú a la carta y especiales del día. Toda la comida que probamos era excelente y un servicio eficiente con un personal muy amable.

El hotel tiene un premio AA rosette por la calidad de la comida, pero lamento decir que vimos nada de eso.

Acabamos de regresar de una estancia de dos noches que disfrutamos mucho. La habitación era amplia y estaba impecable y muy acogedor. El hotel era todo lo que quería y el personal era de lo más amable que he conocido. Un especial gracias a Sian que nos hizo un par de bolsas de desayuno muy bienvenido ya tenía que salir antes de lo esperado, y que también hizo Freddie y Rosie se sientan como en casa.

Comimos aquí por casualidad. En las fotos se veía bastante, pero en realidad no tanto. Podría hacer algún tipo de mejora. Parece viejo. La comida era buena. Ni impresionante, ni malo. En el medio.

Iwe had heard about this Hotel offering really good roasts on Sundays but booked a table for a Friday evening and we were not disappointed, I had the pasta dish and my other half the Steak on over, both really good and the wine list although not huge was very carefully selected and we had a very good bottle of french red. prices were very good and we were not rushed even though it was very busy, would thoroughly recommend to any body wanting a quite meal in relaxed surroundings.

Mi compañero trajo un cupón de groupon para comer el domingo. Habíamos pasado por este hotel, así que puede veces pero cada parado. Ahora nos hubiera gustado haber parado por mucho tiempo antes de ahora. La comida era deliciosa y el servicio fue excelente valor por su dinero. Stopped here for an evening meal as we realised we were not going to get to our destination before closing time.We managed to get a table for two easy enough and the starters came out very quickly, soup of the day, hot enough and quite tasty. Pate very nice too.Mains (both of us ordered ribeye steak) were then served equally rapid, steaks both cooked as requested (1 medium well, 1 medium rare) very nice tomatoes on the vine and a field mushroom. The chips were just OK along with the cabbage, but the carrots tasted as bad as they looked.The meal overall was average especially considering the £60 it cost.Finally, although the young waitress who served us was efficient, we both felt that her 'robotic' speech meant that she didn't come across as friendly and welcoming.

We had a dinner and breakfast (overnight stay) at the Mayfield. Food was beautifully cooked and presented and the menu offered a good range/choice to suit most tastes. Recommended!

Found via deal, sunny day meant could enjoy amazing garden for cream tea - warm scones, buckets of tea, these guys know how to do British. Croquet was on offer, we preferred to simply enjoy the sun (parasol provided). Very friendly staff, really good service

Ate here on both nights whilst staying at the hotel. Good menu and food was well cooked and at a reasonable price. Service very good - all waiters/waitresses were very professional and nothing too much trouble.

Our first evening meal experience was delightful with very good waiter service. The Restaurant is spacious with lovely surroundings. A pleasure to,be there! Would recommend!

We stayed for a couple of nights for our wedding anniversary with our beloved Golden Retriever. the staff could not have been more accommodating with dinner service, breakfast & the rooms themselves - a lovely place to stay.

stayed here for the week end , dined on first night , food was very well presented, staff were very friendly and attentive. its a 3 star hotel with food to match. ( breakfast = really good.)

Have eaten here many times have never been disappointed.Have also stayed in the hotel always very welcoming
