Absolutely delicious food. In fact everything about our dining experience last night was faultless in every way. Atmosphere, food and service perfect. Need I say more? Just book a table, you will not be disappointed.

Yet another superb dinner at our favourite eaterie - food, service, ambience and value for money all second to none. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough Thankyou Sam and team for yet another perfect dining experience - loved it.

We visited restaurant Carter for the tasting menu. Every course was delicious, perfectly cooked. Service by Jordan and Kevin was impeccable. Thanks to Sam and his team for making it a special night.

Where do we start? WOW!!! This Place is a must visit if you like high-quality good food at a reasonable price. Chef Carter is a food genius! We also stayed the night, the rooms are beautifully decorated and very very clean. We were made to feel at home from the minute we stepped in the door by Kevin - what an excellent host he is! He is a credit to this place. We only planned on an evening meal we ended up having breakfast and returned on the Sunday for a scrumptious Sunday lunch which was magnificent. The full English was also top marks! It was a huge added benefit and such a joy to enjoy a few drinks with the friendly staff after hours. Thank you for making us feel so special. We will be retuning later in the year. 5 stars!!!

A thoroughly enjoyable couple of hours at Restaurant Carter @ The Bay Horse from the moment we entered. We were very well looked after by Kevin who made us feel very welcome and was both friendly and professional. The 5 course supper club menu was top class food and went down very well. There were a couple of locals having a drink which added to the relaxed friendly atmosphere, a nice balance to the first class restaurant experience. Highly recommend!

Had a beautiful three course meal. The gentleman serving us was very welcoming and provided excellent service. There was a friendly environment in the whole place. The food was excellent. It was a 10 minute drive from Kirkby Lonsdale. I would highly recommend a visit for outstanding food made with such care, attention and skill.

My husband and I visited Carter Restaurant for our honeymoon. We booked on recommendation and we certainly were not disappointed! From walking through the doors we were welcomed with cold Prosecco and a welcoming smile. We enjoyed the most delicious meal- absolutely first class dining! The service was impeccable and the food was out of this world. The staff were very knowledgeable about the menu and wine and gave us excellent recommendations to pair wines with our food! We most certainly will return here. A hard working family run business by people who really care! Thank you to Sam and the team! Absolutely wonderful!

Being local it's sometimes easy to overlook what's on your doorstep! We were keen to visit Sam and Kevin in the their new place but just didn't 'get round to it'! Our mistake! Everything about our visit was amazing, from Kevin's friendly welcome, the lovely restaurant, but above all, Sam's incredible food! We have enjoyed his outstanding food before but he has gone to even greater heights with his culinary skills. Hard to think you're in a little village on the outskirts of Kirkby Lonsdale and not in some upmarket establishment 'down south'!! Well done to all the team and thank you for a fantastic evening - will definitely see you again soon!

Our 3rd visit and the food and service was excellent! To top it off the Chef gave us a lift home to Kirkby Lonsdale - now that is looking after your guests.

Visited for a special family birthday on a Friday evening. We were welcomed by Kevin and Jordan who made us feel at home. We were seated on a lovely table bear the stove, but weren't too hot at all. Drinks were presented well and the menu had a good range of dishes. All courses were spectacular - beautifully cooked and delicious. Service was attentive and friendly throughout, even when it got busier throughout the evening. A 5* meal and we will be back to try the tasting menu!

Having read the good reviews, I booked this restaurant to take my partner. The food, service and atmosphere was outstanding. One of the best restaurants we have visited. Thank you for such a warm welcome . If you are staying in the area, we would thoroughly recommend you try it out.

We booked for our anniversary for four people. On arrival we were given a complimentary glass of prosecco which is a lovely touch. Our menu was specially printed wishing us a Happy Anniversary.
