It's everything you expect from a busy hospital restaurant. Varied, economical but very tasty dishes which change daily. The cold cabinets are stocked with sandwiches and salads, cold drinks and desserts. Tea and coffee choices are good. Staff are helpful.

I’ve been there quite a few times whilst visiting friends and family (there is no other option in the hospital unless you want to visit Warrens downstairs). The staff there are helpful and friendly, except (what I assume to be) the manager, she is so rude to her staff and to customers which is very off-putting. The food is average, probably slightly less than average if I’m being 100% honest (congealed baked beans, floppy toast, hard potatoes and margarine as far as the eye can see). The real issue for me is how filthy it is. It is literally never clean, any time I’m in there whether it’s late in the day or early in the morning. There is always food all over the floor, food crusted onto the table tops, crumbs and smears of (?) something all over the place. I’ve been there at opening before when I was with my mum while she was sick and it was STILL dirty! If they read these and take anything from this review, it’s got to be the cleanliness it really is disgusting…

I had lunch today while dropping off a friend, lack of choice in the roast dinner, beef looked tasty, no roast potatoes, gammon was lean, cauliflower cheese tasteless, very expensive at six pounds fifty

When you are not well you need food to build you up. The food you are served in Derriford Hospital is literally uneatable. Fish and chips was a piece of dry fish about 4mm thick in a thick crust made from saw-dust, served with cold potatoes cooked days before. The soup was a Boullion cube with corn flour and salt. I had a jacket potato who's skin could have been used for a bicycle saddle. I would gladly pay for proper food.

Came here when mum was rushed into hospital after a fall. Food was nice but expensive. Very busy and had to wait but the tea was better than out of the vending machine

No tendré otra vez.

Good hot meals from 7am to 5pm. The mini Yorkshire meal is excellent! Gets busy at lunch time from 12-1.30pm, weekends are quiet.

It should be an oasis in the bedlam that is Derriford...it should be. The hot food on offer is expensive and poor quality. It's like a second rate works canteen rather than a place to gather yourself. It's such missed opportunity.

Back again. Yes it has a slightly institutional feel, could be a workplace canteen. The cooks could do with watching and maintaining the standards of the cooked food. The recent review of breakfast and the botched poached eggs rings true. But there is a wide range across the day. It’s cheaper than the M&S beside the smokers by the front entrance and a world apart from the shoulder to shoulder noisy chain place on the main ground floor concourse. We like R7 because it is readily affordable, friendly and easy going where you can refuel or just sit alone and reflect or sling a load of tables together for family, friends and if remotely mobile, a patient down from the ward.

Wow. Unfortunately asked for poached eggs for breakfast. (It's listed on the kenu) the girl serving had never heard of them. 2 eggs went into the kitchen and two over cooked poached eggs arrive. It somehow looked as though the egg had been poached the cook thought that doesn't look right an put it in a frying pan to finish it off. And boy was it finished off. The rest of the breakfast bits looked ok but I was put off then.I thought I would wake my self up with a coffee. But that was a watery coffee hint kind of affair from a machine.I abandoned and went to Costa. It's a shame as I really wanted to like this cafeteria. If anyone from management is reading this quietly loose the poached eggs from the menu.

Warren's make a range of pasties, sandwiches and salads fresh daily and it's fab. Better than the Hospital restaurant and busy but not a long wait. I can't stand coffee bars that stink of coffee(?), it's because I hate the smell of it. Warren's sell a wide range of coffee and tea and it's not overpowering. A pleasure and not a bad spot to eat. A jewel in an otherwise dreadful hospital. Parking, appointments let's not go there. Warren's is a pleasure.

My second time eating here this year and the last.Due to heavy traffic we thought we would eat here after work at the hospital. At just before six pm there was little choice even though they are open until 7pm. I had the fish curry. It was impossible to say if it was fish or not. It looked more like shredded beef and the taste gave little hint it was fish. It also left a nasty after taste. My wife had a tasteless chilli and left half of it. The coffee was ok though.

Back again. No one chooses to spend time in a hospital unless they work here but it’s important to have somewhere away from the commercial manic bustle of the franchise caterers on Level 6 and outside. This place does it well and is an hospitable, frantically haven.

Big restaurant and caters for most tastes. My issue it's all the different kinds of cold sandwiches. Although I like certain foods, sometime there is the unusal ingredient. A testing late May give attempts to new experiences before committing to what are relatively inflated prices. More variety of soups, with the plain person in mind.

Open in its present form for at least three and more years on level 7 at Plymouth Derriford Hospital, this is a surprisingly welcoming, well organised, equipped and competitively priced restaurant, serving good value, good food meals, snacks, and hot drinks to staff, visitors, and non-bedridden patients, every day. It does not supply the meals given to the patients on the wards and is not associated with the commercial food operations on the entrance floor/concourse below. It has ample numbers of comfortable chairs and tables in a large open room with views. I think Restaurant7 is run under contract by Serco but it offers a good selection of meals for all times of day eg we recently had a lunch choice of medium or large beef and roast vegetables with all the trimmings for £3 or £4, or Marsala with naan and papadoms for £3. There is also a huge deli type counter with salads, sandwiches etc, a wide choice of deserts and the full whack of hot and cold drinks. For an hour or so in the afternoon the main cooked options are suspended but there are still the sandwiches rolls cakes and slightly disappointing cream tea kits.
