Rendezvous Coffee Shop in Northampton

Lovely staff and amazing service, food is very nice just a bit overpriced, nice little cafe hidden away, me and my sister always go there when in town, almost every month!

The staff seem really nice and my latte was just fine. I think if you like typical greasy spoons you might like it here. But for me the food was a real disappointment, the panini was nearly £5 and you could tell they use the cheapest ingredients possible. The bread didn’t have any crisp to it, the bacon was really fatty, there was so much butter on the bread and I had two measly slices of tomato. The combo of wet tomato and grease made the bread very soggy. I also feel the decor could really do with updating, the seats feel like you’re going to fall through them! It’s a shame as I like the quiet location but I will not be returning. I would not recommend this place.

Popped in here on a day out in Northampton. Everything in the breakfast is microwaved and of very poor quality. Couldn't have been much worse.

AWFUL. I’ve been here before ably a year ago and nothing has changed. It’s all the same old tatty chairs and broken tables. Nothing is cleaned and it’s just so full and boring. There are no menus so you have to stand in the doorway and make your choice. Everything is so over priced for somewhere that microwaves everything. Including the eggs. There is no love or effection in this dirty cafe. The staff are very rude as well. One of the workers didn’t even make eye contact when serving me at the till.

Went into town with friends to do some shopping and thought about trying this place out. I will not be returning again! The service at the till was awful and the lady who served me was very rude. The food wasn’t great either it tasted like it was all microwaved. The table was dirty and I had to get my own cutlery from a draw of mismated cutlery and they were all stained. I was not happy.

This cafe used to be excellent, but the quality of the food has deteriorated so much that we don't go there anymore. Everything lately seems to be badly cooked in a microwave, particularly the omelettes yuk!! The tatty garnish does nothing to enhance the appearance of the food.

Been coming here for years and the food quality hasn't changed at all. The cafe does look a little worn out and could do with a facelift. If it moved to a busier area of the town it would probably receive the attention it deserves but it's currently one of the only open shops in the "marketplace" - such a dreary place to enter.

Love popping into this little cafe when shopping in Northampton. I always have a ham and cheese panini which always tastes fantastic! It's served with a side salad of which the dressing is fab! Lovely food, lovely service. P.s try the hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows! Heaven!

This little cafe is a pleasant little place to, as the name suggests, meet friends for lunch or just to pop in for a cuppa and a snack. You can chose from a variety of lunchtime foods such as jacket potatoes with various toppings, bacon sandwiches, a selection of cakes and beverages etc. The cafe is situated inside a small indoor shopping centre and, from memory I believe it may have disabled access. All in all a good little place to take a break!

Decided to have a bite to eat whilst in Northampton ( 21/02/2016 ) and came across this coffee shop near Grosvenor Shopping Arcade - Market Walk. Chalk written boards with a very good selection of food on offer, all prepared to order. Pleasant staff, tasty food, very clean and good value for money. Well worth a visit.

We were in town for the sales and decided to pop in here for a quick sandwich, it was fairly busy but we found a table in the corner. There are no menus so you have to get up & struggle past other diners to read the specials boards. The prices seem to have gone up a fair amount since our last visit as were on par with the cafe prices in m&s. The cafe is now pretty dated and in need of a refurbishment, the queue wasn't that long but the service was shockingly slow. The girl behind the counter had a nasty hacking cough, several times coughing up into her hands then taking the money and touching the cups before handing the coffees to people without washing her hands or using a sanitiser. I work in catering & it's really off putting to see this. I waited for 20 minutes even tho there were only four people ahead of me, the sandwiches we ordered came out quickly tho and were very tasty. I wouldn't rush back again unless it had a refurb and maybe the staff practices need some work to help things flow properly. People really shouldn't have to wait that long in a short queue & maybe if someone else made the coffees instead of the girl trying to take the orders and money then things would work out much better?

I visited with my daughter for lunch whilst Xmas shopping. It was relatively busy but the counter service fairly quick. For a change I went for poached eggs on toast. The food arrived in a reasonable time but the eggs looked as though they had been poached in some sort of rectangular container. when I put my fork into the first one the yoke actually exploded with small cracking sound. This was probably due to the outside of the egg had formed a sort of skin which wasn't particularly pleasant to eat. I can only think that cooking was probably by microwave - whatever the method it was certainly not suitable to poaching.

This cafe is one that I have often eaten in on my many visits to Northampton. It is a very popular cafe with a varied menu. The service is good and food delicious

I had to wipe down the table with a handbag tissue before use. There were bits of food on the floor under the table. There were 2 of us; jacket and beans, jacket and chilli. Both plates were cold so the food soon cooled too. Although described 'with salad' the amount was very mean.

Decided today after passing their 'Try our delicious jacket potatoes' sign that we would go back and order these 'delicious' items for a light lunch. Very disappointed. Potatoes were way overcooked resulting in a mushy texture. Did not realise that you had to go back and collect your own cutlery from the mismatched collection of forks, knives and spoons. Then you have to go back to the counter again for any condiments, plus unhelpful staff. Table not cleaned, told to fetch our own cutlery.

This coffee shop is a great place to go as the food and coffee is excellent, also the staff are very friendly and will do anything to help. Will be back.

We've lived in the area for many years but never visited until today, then wondered why! Lovely jacket potato, panini and toasted tea cake for the baby. Really clean high chair and friendly staff. We will be back!

Discovered this little gem in town centre today. Cooked breakfast, delicious toast, with butter and a pot of tea, all for £4.75. Bargain. The service was excellent, will definitely be back.
