The Rendezvous is a little gem, right in the centre of Cockermouth. The menu is varied and full of delicious things! We visit regularly and continue to be blown away by the consistent high standards, excellent quality of food both in terms of the ingredients and cooking/baking, and friendliness of the owners Liisa and Hayley, who take time out of their busy day , to make each customer feel valued. Oh, and if you can’t decide on what to choose, I would highly recommend the sausage baps, which are the perfect size, always perfectly cooked and brilliant value. Great stuff!

Decided to give this place a go as thought it would be “better than Greggs”. Er No! Ordered the Sausage bun £3:60, however it was on a small toasted bap which was dry and only contained 1.5 small sausages! Not sure what happened to my other half?? Not really worth it. Coffee was ok though.

Excellent café for breakfast, lunch and coffee. Really fresh ingredients. We went for breakfast twice while visiting family and I enjoyed the freshest and most perfectly cooked poached eggs and bacon. The coffee was top notch. Great atmosphere and friendly owners who work hard and go the extra. Highly recommended!

Ideally located right in the centre of town Rendezvous is a an excellent cafe. it is our first choice venue in Cockermouth and we visit 2 -3 times per week. The coffee is very good and the welcome warm and friendly. If you choose to eat they provide very good cakes snacks and meals. We highly recommend.

Our first visit to Rathlin Island and of course we availed of The Hungry Seal! The food was absolutely amazing, we were in chippy heaven. The chips are probably the best I've ever had and the battered sausages to die for! The other half had the haddock supper and claimed it was the best he's ever had. Decent portions, the price is up there but not much different than your average chippy to be fair. The girls were lovely and had the food ready in good time. We would take a trip back to the island just for another feed at the Hungry Seal lol 10/10 for us! (Not my picture, found in Google search)

Absolutely loved the bakery! Extremely friendly shop owner, and even had a gluten free option which was much appreciated! I would highly recommend this bakery, and will definitely be revisiting next time I visit Keswick!

... indeed they do! Imagine taking a rare 300+ mile journey to revisit your childhood memories, including that of the pub that you were born in. Imagine turning up at the said establishment, full of excitement and anticipation only to be shouted at "You can't park here, I'm expecting people for Sunday Lunch" - maybe the Landlord was psychic and knew we weren't his intended visitors, or he only serves his local clientele with charm? Imagine then trying to hold a conversation with said Landlord about the past, who clearly wasn't interested, simply citing "things change". Indeed they do... just not always for the better... as evidenced at The Bush (previous name, from back in (much) better times.
