I popped in for what was supposed to be a quick coffee The staff were so welcoming, it was such a cozy place I had a flat white, the sausage roll and cake Followed by one last cappuccino The staff and food are fantastic, I was so impressed to learn all the food/cake is made in house Will definitely visit again and highly recommend as it’s bigger inside than it first appears

It's a warm, welcoming place, with friendly staff, lovely food, drinks and coffee, not even mentioned the milkshakes. Also, their sausage rolls are champions. Quite a few tables to sit in and outside, perfect place for a little chill out.

Such a great place. Staff are always friendly and the food is great. You can really tell the owner has put a lot of thought into the place. The food is all locally sourced, from the sausages to the coffee. Nothing here has been skimped on. Unfortunately we have heard the cafe is changing hands. With hope the new ownership keeps up the great standards set my the current owner. Well worth a visit before ownership changes!

Haven’t received my order. Not their fault that Royal Mail lost the package, but having ordered next day delivery - I still have not received the record a month later. Would’ve hoped for a replacement or another solution but so far have received nothing.

A chill & relaxed ambience with low lighting. Tasty sausage rolls and flat whites and an excellent selection of records downstairs. An accessible toilet too.

I went there today for lunch. Ordered a tuna mayo sandwich with sweetcorn and salad which was really nice. The venue, staff and food was great. Extremely reasonable. I'm going to make it my weekly bus journey

Perfect for a Saturday morning breakfast or brunch followed by a glorious visit to the basement. Great albums in a carefully decorated room. Come with time and money available and be happy. Kids friendly, specially if they share with you the joy of album hunting activity.

The record store downstairs is great, there’s lots of space to browse and there’s always a vinyl playing in the background which is cool. They have a nice selection of both new and used vinyl. The cafe is nice, although feels a little overpriced for what you get.

We are regulars here and love the brunches, smoothies, cakes, coffee and teas! The atmosphere is lovely, very chilled out and quirky. Strewn with fairy lights and interesting pictures and records and great background music. The staff are very friendly as well! Totally recommend!

This review is regarding the record store only. Alas this used to be a much friendlier and good record store with much better opening times. On my last visit I noticed fewer used records and an absolute reluctance to give any sort of bulk discount. I think this place is on its way out and there wont be many other used record stores in Cambridge left - seems like its been mismanged and badly run post Covid.

Visited on a weekday morning for coffee. Coffee very nice but sweet treats very limited, overpriced and didn’t look particularly fresh. No croissants! I appreciate times are hard and I go out of my way to support independent businesses but felt a bit robbed by the £5 minimum card spend. Makes a quick coffee pretty expensive and for this reason I’m unlikely to return. Wi-fi password didn’t work but by this point I’d given up the idea of staying to work. Decor beginning to look tired and ugly with plastic shelving on view storing kitchen supplies

Love this place. Great cafe with a record shop downstairs. Only reason it doesn’t get a five star is the prices and vegan options. £5 for a sausage roll.

highly highly recommend relevant record's online store. they ordered a couple of albums in for me as they were out of stock, customer service is 2nd to none & emails were replied to super quickly:)) there was a slight mix up with a third record i wanted to buy but Tom went above and beyond to amend their mistake & has left me feeling spoilt with his reparations:') lovely company, great prices & ridiculously fast shipping. wish i lived closer so i could have a browse in person! big love to relevant! thank you xx

It's Saturday, 30th December, why aren't you open? Another family has just arrived while I type who made a special trip to visit your store. Not happy. Neither are they. Update: to be fair I just noticed their web site says they are closed but Google says they are open which most people would look at.

Very tasty food! Delightful, pleasant staff. Open 9am each morning including Sunday. Snazzy food and drinks(including alcohol) menu. Large, spacious and clean toilet which is disable friendly. Highly recommended.

Nice place, being coming here for years for a occasional weekend Brekkie. Surprised that it took more than 30 mins for breakfast menu for 2 to be served even on monday in near empty restaurant. Anyways place is nice , recommended

I was shocked to receive a plate of toast & potatoes in cheese & oil when I ordered the Mexican brunch… it looks pretty bad - a plate full of carbs & not much else. I expected to see the spinach, mushrooms, cheese, egg & potatoes all separate but no, I was all mashed together in one pot with lots of oil… the photo speaks for itself. V bland & greasy…

very nice coffee shop, not so far away from the center of Cambridge. The only thing I didn’t like was the self service even there had been three waitresses

2 great spots in 1 place. The food at the cafe is fresh and delicious, with plenty of veggie options, and the record store has tons of fantastic releases at decent prices.

Come early if you would like to dine in as it gets busy -- and for good reason. Enjoy the good food, soak in the atmosphere and banter all while people watching (if you're sat by the window). Once you're full, make your way to basement and browse the amazing collection of records (both old AND new) to your heart's content!!! What a perfect place to start your weekend. Probably the best record shop/cafe in the UK (and I live in Manchester) ❤️

Quite disappointing 😢 We came here on Saturday afternoon and ordered a hot chocolate and decaf cappuccino. They were both cold and came 5 minutes after each other not together. The hot chocolate was made from a sugary powder instead of real chocolate which was a shame when it’s the same price as somewhere like bold brothers or hot numbers🥹

Shop carries good record stock range but had very bad experience as "owner" claimed card payment hadn't gone through so charged twice. After finding both had been debited 10 - 15 mins later , I returned and as soon as "owner" saw me he stated "oh did it go through" and processed a refund. Make your own minds up.

Ok, used to be beget with more second hand records rather than new releases.

This is a regular venue to meet up with old friends. They guarantee a Great atmosphere... super friendly team... and deliciously satisfying cuisine from cakes to toasties and hearty salads n soups! Also yummy vegan options... recommend the 'sausage' rolls! Family friendly and space to park a pram at the end of a table.👌

This is a very nice cafe especially if you are interested in records, the cakes are lovely but there is not a very large variety and they are very overpriced! The drinks are average, hot chocolate, coffee and tea, standard things really. The decor there is slightly questionable though as it is quite dark and what light they have comes from the brightly colour Christmas lights that are up all year round? But if you go downstairs its like a whole different place! There is a massive collection of records - hundreds of them, all available to purchase! You wouldn't have thought this would be in the centre of Cambridge! Overall, it's a lovely place to visit!

My son is a vinyl lover so looked forward to this visit. The cafe was busy when we arrived and there were 4 customers on the next table who were very loud and crude which was a bit of a nuisance, but really can't be helped. We ordered sausage sandwiches, eggs benedict, a pot of tea, a fresh lemonade and a carrot and ginger juice. Everything but the 2 cold drinks arrived quickly and was eaten. Midway through our meal and I asked the lady at the counter where our drinks were as I thought we had been forgotten. She pointed and said 'they're being made' . We all finished our meals now gasping for a drink after the bread and bacon, but the drinks still weren't made. We ended up taking them away as a takeaway as there was no point sitting at a table with empty plates when the tea drinker had also emptied the teapot. Drinks were full of ice and little juice. No apology offered. Disappointed as we were looking forward to our trip to Cambridge for the sole purpose of this place.

Had breakfast and a browse through the records which are in the basement. A friendly place with good food and great coffee. You only pay 10p more for a big mug compared to a regular cup. Bargain

The coffee was great and so was the vegan roll. The staff are friendly and helpful. They have a great selection of cakes. A lovely place that we visit often. They have both indoor and a little bit of outdoor seating. I love the way it's decorated inside and they play some great tunes. They have a great record shop downstairs with some real treasures in it. Will definitely be back. To improve: I think they are still charging extra for oat milk, it would be great if they didn't. The vegan chocolate and coconut milk and vegan tiffin were a little dry.

Brilliant people friendly Café in the trendy Mill Road area of Cambridge, there is a wait once seated for your hot drink and food but its of no mind, Had what looked like a lovely sausage roll looked hand made, but it was the worst sausage roll I have ever tasted. simply terrible. Give it a go if in area but don't have the dreaded sausage roll. Added bonus of vinyl record shop being downstairs.

I've tested all the cakes on Mill Road so you don't have to. There's a lot of competition and some decent contenders. I bought a large selection and divided between my six testers. Unanimously the verdict was that Relevant cakes were the best out of four venues. Fresh, moist, delicious. I've also had lots of their brunches which have also been also very enjoyable.

I went here this morning for a take away breakfast as a treat on a Saturday morning and what we received what absolutely appalling. 1 coffee, 2 sandwiches and a sausage roll came to £18 which was the first shock, that is pure daylight robbery. Then I opened the bacon sandwich which cost £5.50 - in what planet does a bacon sandwich cost that much? - and also for that you’d expect a belter of a sarnie...no, I had rubbish white bread that fell apart, which has one bit of bacon in (it was also so small). I had to FRY MY OWN BACON at home to make it have any point to eating it. Ridiculous. The second sandwich was bacon and egg, and I was informed the only egg available was poached, seriously?!. When I get home (3 minute walk) the sandwich was covered in egg yolk. Oh and the coffee was pretty terrible. Basically an absolutely awful experience, DONT bother getting a bacon roll, just make it at home.

We missed our breakfast window at our hotel and fortunately, Relevant was on the way to Cambridge centre so we gave them a go. We were greeted by a very friendly team. Once seated, we chose what we wanted to one of us approached the till area to order (COVID rules). I went for a sausage sandwich and English tea and the missus, porridge and earl grey tea. The wait wasn't long. Teas came first in teapots and strainers etc. Both teas were very good and tasted fresh. Food came soon after and both the missus and I thought the food was amazing. Even my simple sausage sandwich. I'm certain it's homemade bread and the sausages tasted local and not mass-produced. It was that nice, we went back a couple of days later before we took the train home.

we went with friends to the Relevant tearoom which was a bit out of the city. This place was just amazing and sweet. The personal was very kind and had a big smile on their face. We drank a cup of tea and hot chocolats which tasted amazing. The atmosphere was really friendly and beautiful. They hanged lights on top of us which gave a sweet touch to the room. We really enjoyed staying there for a cup of tea and a piece of cake.

I’m a Swiss high school student who came to Cambridge for a language trip. As part of a group activity, we had to photograph this café which we thought was very nice! The decoration was very welcoming and cosy with garlands of light and background music. The service was very fast. The staff was also very friendly and smiling. The pastries are also excellent, and above all there was something for everyone! Concerning the drinks, I can only talk about the hot drinks, which were all succulent. If you don't know what to drink, the strawberry and kiwi tea is excellent! The toilets are very well decorated but also dirty (dust, cobwebs, ...).

This coffee is sweet and pleasant. The atmosphere is very young and we all feel welcome. The menu is simple, they prepare only local pastries or breakfast but what more can you look for. Downstairs we can buy different vinyl records. We can find all kinds of music styles like rock, pop, blues and many more. For hygiene, the restaurant takes care to clean the tables and toilets well.

The food and atmosphere here is always great, especially the brunches. I must say though that the tea is really overpriced and not that nice. I’m a fan of loose tea but far too much is put in the pot and it always tastes stewed and nasty. A couple of other small things would they could improve on - ditch the sugar cubes which are unhygienic and awkward if you only like a dash of sugar and wipe the tables down between guests please

This has been my favourite local cafe for years now, but WOW, the latest batch of young staff are absolute space cadets. I’m not actually sure that the young woman with blue talons who just served me wasn’t stoned off her face. Practically comatose. More training maybe?! Sort them out, Ange!

Met with my Italian group in the basement, surrounded by vinyl records. Nice casual atmosphere. We meet on a Sunday afternoon and it always seems busy. Great range of tempting cakes, nice tea and coffee.

I was there to meet up with an Italian-speaking group and had a coffee and cake. The downstairs area (where we were) is not quite as nice as the upstairs, as it is more about the records they sell.

Breakfast on Sunday. It was busy, often a good sign. Food was tasty if a little expensive and the coffee good but not sure how they understand the word large. We had a long wait for the food but they were busy and told us how long when we ordered. It was worth the wait. Good music as well and not too loud. Liked the idea of tap water being on the table ready.

We really like coming here with our family of four and our dog. They have good coffee and a bunch of toys to play with at the back. Very nice staff.

Always lovely food - eg today I had the vegan salad. Also love their pea and mint soup, fruit juices and soya cappuccinos. And the cakes! Very vegan and doggie friendly.

Been wanting to visit for a while and did with a couple of friends. Firstly there was plenty to choose from food and drink wise and the menu food prices are quite reasonable. Decided what we wanted, the woman who served us was more interested in counting the money in a tin and didn’t even stop when she did serve us. Felt very unwelcome. We’re asked where we were sitting, there wasn’t many people in and this wasn’t even something we had thought about. She then pointed out 2 tables and we felt we had to pick one so we did.

If you try one place for breakfast in Cambridge, make sure it’s this one! Friendly staff, and fun atmosphere. It is well worth a trip for the veg mex and the fresh juice. Also great for a chilled out drink in the evening.

El mejor "tostada de avo" que he tenido en mucho tiempo, ¡y estaba en un panecillo! El desayuno "Relevante" a las 8 vale la pena, porciones generosas, personal encantador y comida fresca presentada maravillosamente en porcelana clásica. Frijoles cocidos a mano, aguacate roto en panecillos con huevos escalfados cocidos a la perfección. El agua del grifo en botellas con vasos en cada mesa, la música tranquila y las luces de colores le dan un ambiente encantador para trabajar, revisar o socializar. Pida el chocolate caliente ‘con trocitos’ para m & ms en el lado y malvaviscos y crema en la parte superior. La cafetería atiende a los alérgenos alimentarios, solo pida leches alternativas, pero tenga cuidado de que salpiquen las semillas en el desayuno, por lo que si usted es alérgico a las nueces / semillas, ¡compruebe antes de ordenar!

Es un lugar muy acogedor donde las camareras son encantadoras y muy amables. Recomiendo mucho este lugar para ir a desayunar, tomar el brunch o un café. En la planta de abajo tienen una tienda de discos de vinilo.

This place is alway friendly with a great atmosphere and delicious, well-made food and drink. I'm a bit confused about people mentioning that it's too expensiive.. it's competitively priced in relation to other similar independent businesses in Cambridge. Staff always friendly even when it's busy. Thanks as always for great food and service!

Nuestro grupo de amigos se quedaba justo al lado de Mill Road y solo buscaban un lugar para desayunar antes de ir a casa. ¡Relevante era el lugar más cercano, pero era tan bueno!

Hacen unos desayunos increíbles. Es un sitio que tiene mucho encanto, estupendo para trabajar, relajarse o pasar el rato. No solo ponen muy buena música, sino que además venden discos en la planta baja! Puedes encontrar tartas sin gluten y dan la bienvenida a las mascotas.
