I’ve genuinely struggled with what to write about Relentless, I had really high hopes for dinner and the Menu sparked my interest. Pros We booked a table on the day we wanted to eat Free parking Seated quickly Cons Food wasn’t cooked right, medium Rare steak was cold and undercooked (both pieces). Gistly Steak and unseasoned too. I reminded them that I’d order sides and that my dinner came with chips as this didn’t come out with my main plate. My wife had the goats cheese and onion tart with pesto and sweet potato fries. Not much goats cheese on the tart, the tart is more of a flat bread than tart. Service seemed really good, we had a young guy with short hair, very energetic (has lots of brothers and sisters) he explained the prepay concept and we were happy to order, he then bought over our drinks and we paid. I genuinely felt bad that after we finished dinner our plates weren’t cleared and no dessert menu was offered despite waiting for around 10 minutes with plates stacked up ready. THEN I REALISED THAT THEY TAKE A TIP (service charge) BEFORE YOUR DINNER IS SERVED. He had folded the receipt for dinner over showing only the final balance as if to shield from my wife. We didn’t get to order dessert as I mentioned no one came over to take the order so we left and got it elsewhere. Over all it was ok, we left quite dissatisfied, had better steaks at a chain restaurant. Wouldn’t rush back to eat there.

Well very disappointed tbh.. use to come here alot so suggested going Friday before heading to movies. .. Restaurant was cold asked to be moved still sat with coats on .. ordering was quite effortless .. food came out camembert pot had chip! . Daughter had steak had to pulled a hair from mouth... burger was bog standard probably would of got better from micks up hill or witherspoon ! ... toilets was cold dusty and rust over radiator. ... Iver all left feeling disappointed with what Ince was a lovely restaurant won't be going anytime soon..... shame

We were struggling to find the restaurant and called for directions. We spoke to Will who gave very helpful directions and decided to come and find us (demonstrating amazing initiative). We received a warm welcome from Will who is an absolute credit to the establishment. The food was amazing (lobster outstanding) and the atmosphere was brilliant. Highly recommend this restaurant. Would definitely visit again.

An amazing night. Port Solent is a lovely place already. But Relentless is a well kept, clean restaurant, the food was brilliant (recommend the deep fried cockles, and Camembert mash!). Our server Will made our night with his high energy, high service ethic throughout the night. He made us laugh, whilst also making sure we didn’t want for anything. Highly recommend!

Very friendly and attentive staff ,the food was just superb mussels and scallops for starters were melt in the mouth my wife had paella which had sea bass king prawns ect ect the best she'd ever eaten. I had the fully loaded burger ,I can honestly say it was to die for I highly recommend relentless steak and lobster . Fair price for quality food 10-10

No issue paying upfront but don’t like being swindled out of a 10% service charge at the beginning of the meal and not told it was there. Only discovered service charge by overhearing it from another table. Poor quality food. The Muscles tasted like they were cooked in dishwater. Offered a free drink when should have been refunded the starter. The issue with paying upfront i suppose. Steak ok. Lobster not so much. More like a canteen than a restaurant.

AVOID!! This place does not value your custom. If you like fast food at restaurant prices, this is definitely the place for you. e.g.The fries were frozen ones that had been chucked in the deep fat fryer and the chicken wings came out of a bag from Aldi. We were over charged and when phoning up, they did admit that things had accidentally been added on. Shame on them. If they do that to everyone, they'll be making a tidy amount on the side. I'm expecting a rude comment from the manager, because he was extremely aggressive when I phoned up to talk to him. Please avoid. IF YOU READ THE MANAGER'S REPLY, NOTE THAT HE HAS LIED. I RECORD ALL MY CALLS ON AN APP AND HAVE PROOF THAT THEY OVERCHARGED AND THAT I DID NOT EVEN RAISE MY VOICE. YOU MAY ALSO WANT TO NOTE THAT YOU CHARGED FOR THE ONE SAUCE THREE TIMES. Also, please check TripAdvisor reviews because this establishment seems to be making a habit of overcharging and being rude. This is how they are making money, by adding things that people have not ordered. This is dishonest, but if doing this to customers is how you make your money, then you have to live with yourselves. BTW the chips were nice. It was the fries that were frozen and deep fried. Have another look at your cctv and see all the burnt ones! Therefore you owe us the 10% service charge, as the food was not up to standard, plus the sauces you decided to charge for.

Absolutely SUBLIME restaurant. We ordered the steak experience for two with a extra side of half lobster and it did not disappoint at all. Well worth the money! All Steaks were cooked PERFECTLY to the chefs recommendation. Our waitress Charlie was incredible and so friendly and welcoming. She really added to our experience. We can not recommend this place enough. As FAR our new favourite steak house. P.s. the sticky toffee pudding and Eaton mess, also SUBLIME!...Also food coma pending! Absolutely amazing!

What an incredible find! Came here for our anniversary meal and it has become our favourite steak restaurant hands down. Traveled from Oxford to here. Better than miller and carter. Had the steak sharer for 2. All 3 meats was cooked perfectly. Asked for chefs recommendations across the meats and came out exactly as told. The most friendliest of welcoming from the staff and our host Charlie could go up for an award on top waitressing to be honest. Deserts here are some of the best I've had in a very long time. Sticky toffee is a must! And the Eton mess is sublime for a lighter option! 🤩 Will be back!

Food was fine. Steak cooked very well. Lobster was dressed well but missing some meat…. Service was good, atmosphere pretty poor. The wine selection was terrible, it’s a shame as better wines would complement the good food coming out of the kitchen. I ordered a £35 bottle of Italian red wine (no bottling data on it!) and we found the same bottle online for £10. We didn’t enjoy it and left most in the bottle. The people running it were really nice and couldn’t do enough. If there was every an opportunity to invest in a business then this is it. I never go down the middle on my reviews but for the first time this was neither good or bad.

Customers clearly not trusted as have to pay for food (INCLUDING SERVICE CHARGE) before receiving anything! Ordered tomahawk steak as pictures on Facebook look great but was very grisly, I know the cut will be a bit fatty but a lot was inedible, green beans missing. Another dish (flaming burger) was missing the sauce. First beer was warm and all they serve is large bottles that you get 3 for 5 in co-op for £7 each!! Side note: toilets are rank The restaurant was almost empty by 20:30 and half empty from 19:00 on a Saturday night!

Shocking! I’ve eaten here many of times and have said nothing but praises! But tonight, far from it, waiting an hour for starters with what I saw, not a very busy restaurant. Asking for a rare steak… it came out so blue it looked like it was cut off the cow and served straight onto my plate. Multiple different servers and all as arrogant. Being asked ‘am I sure’ if I wanted dessert. Trying to say I’m fat? Keep on coming round asking how everything was when we didn’t even start eating. The staff weren’t very aware that we were still eating, when asking ‘Are we finished’ I’m sorry to have to write this but I will not be eating here again.

Absolutely awful experience we went there tonight to celebrate our wedding anniversary table booked for 7 30 by 8pm we still didn't have a drink and when we finally placed our order we got told 15 minutes later that the steak my husband had ordered was sold out he ended up having fish & chips when our drinks finally arrived our bottle of water was missing my steak was cold & full of gristle when asked if we wanted any sauces I asked for English mustard they didn't have any of that either the final straw was when my husband ordered a JD & coke & again they didn't have that we had decided that given the appalling service and lack of stock we wouldn't bother to order a desert a completely ruined evening and wedding anniversary this was our first & last visit here never again

10/10 food was brilliant but our waiter Will was exceptional, unfortunately its very hard these days to find a friendly, accommodation waiter who goes above and beyond and clearly loves his Job, he was especially great with our 11 year old son who decided to try the lobster and showed him exactly how to break it and eat it, Will was just so happy and just brilliant. It was our first time at relentless and he made it one to remember. Thank you so much Will.

Priced like it’s fine dining, but far from it. Prices on menu changed in a pen. Food was average, not sear on steak, peppercorn sauce like gravy. Nothing fine dining about the place. Pick and mix stand on way in, waiter didn’t know what the steak was he brought out, decor tacky, and broken.

we booked on line when we turned up they nothing on the system showed our confirmation and were told lucky it's not busy or you wouldn't have a table. the young lady serving our table was brilliant very attentive, never been asked to pay up front in a restaurant but i understand why when she told me they had people doing a runner. for the price of the food it was very average it looked like it had been chucked on the plate and sent out. i wouldn't go there again or recommend it to anyone.

My fiancé and I recently visited Portsmouth and were eager to try this restaurant for their lobster dishes. Unfortunately, it turned out to be the worst dining experience I have ever had. Upon arrival, we were required to pay upfront, which I found Fishy!. In hindsight, I wish I had read the reviews on their lobster dishes beforehand. I ordered the Lobster Steak Platter; while the steak was good, the lobster portion was severely lacking, with only meat in the tail and none in the rest of the body. When I raised my concerns, I was informed that the restaurant removes the head meat but it was have the body meat too for safety reasons. I suspect they use the meat in their lobster rolls instead. I requested to speak with the manager, but instead, a waiter came and argued with me about my complaint. The service was appalling, and I am astonished that they have received any positive reviews. Overall, it was a highly disappointing experience.

I would not recommend this restaurant. 1. You pay when you place your order 2. They charge you for items you never ordered and they do not give you a receipt unless you ask. Luckily we did and found that we're charged £16.90 EXTRA for items we didn't order. AND they added service charge. Which brings me to my next point.. 3. What service? No one batted an eye until I got up and stood by the counter to let them know I'm waiting to place an order. The waitress then took our order. Never asked about allergies, nor did she ask how well done we would like our burger patties. 4. The patties were over cooked. Lastly, I saw one of the staff members use their HANDS to pick out strawberries from a jar that was used to make a Cocktail. Hygiene is very poor and they should be reported.

Millie gave us a warm welcome, was timely in approaches to the table. She was the only server at our time of arrival and managed the restaurant well as other guests arrived too. Our son was grouchy on arrival having just slept on the way and we were offered a lolly pop to help perk him up. Very attentive to ours and our little boys needs, pleasant and friendly. The food was very good and we all thoroughly enjoyed it… we will be back again

Avoid avoid unless you want to be discriminated against or pay for non existent service! Decided to drop in for a late lunch, restaurant wasn’t particularly busy On arriving ordered pre meal drinks service was slow but we were ok with that as we were in no rush Ordered our starters and main course then got presented with a bill including service charge.We wanted a bottle of wine with our meal so had to request this so it could be added to our PRE MEAL bill. After a comment to the server we paid before we even received our meal as we didn’t want any unpleasantness There were no visible signs or anything about their alleged prepayment policy on their website or menu Cocktail was watered down so would advise against ordering a cocktail especially as they are pricey Food was of a good standard but had to wait for staff to clear table eventually had to move our plate to a vacant table nearby- not what you expect when you have paid in advance for a service charge Here comes the punch line - which ruined our circa £130 lunch!- whilst waiting for the table to be cleared my other half mentions that the table over there have just finished their meal and are perusing their bill after their meal but before paying !!! What do you mean I ask? But we paid in advance you must be mistaken. To settle an argument we went to talk to the couple and asked when they were you asked to pay? Looking perplexed they said at the end of the meal of course …… At which point we wonder whether the restaurant has some kind of profiling policy on who has to pay before or after. Is it because I’m Asian that we were asked to pay before our meal but others weren’t expected to. Dining experience was ruined at this point so asked the server what was going on, she went off to speak to the manager, on return she confirmed that it was their policy to expect a prepaid order service and there had been an error in following their policy. I did ask whether they have a racial or disabled profiling policy. No she assured me she has a best friend who is Asian!! No sign of the manager or suggestion of a refund on the service charge or a complimentary scoop of ice cream to smooth ruffled feathers… Good news is as we had pre paid, no need to hang around I got into my wheelchair never to return with a message to all don’t visit either. Ps I had a poorly worded and misspelled response to my review from management Stating they employ ‘ethnic’ workers!! The management really need to work on their Equality and Diversity position as they seem to have no clue!! The reply stated that the day in question 18.5.2024 was the hottest day of the year and they were short staffed, hence the error - am sure for those inclined you can check how factual this statement is ! Sadly they accused me of shouting at the server which is simply not true, I did however confirm that I would post my experience in social media posts because I was indeed irate! So now management have inferred I am a lier too, their customer service gets better and better 😢 They have offered for me to call to get my service charge refund which presumably they can do without my calling, that would have gone much further in resolving this situation then accusing me of behaviour that simply didn’t occur. Although this should have been offered on the day, the manager should have come out to apologise and explain the error himself, they could have offered a complimentary drink/desert or discount on a future visit to show their intent to make things right, but no instead I’ve got the message loud and clear that the customer is always wrong at this establishment. My view remains avoid avoid !!

Millie served us and she was amazing!!!! It was my dad’s retirement meal and she made it so special from the beginning to the end! While cracking jokes throughout the night the food was spectacular, while keeping a smile on her face throughout the whole night while serving other tables made the whole experience so much better!! While not being from Portsmouth I was advised by another server called Darcy great places to go while also bonding on a great level being the same age and being interested in mutual things! All in all as a server myself from working in many places I can say hands down this is the best steakhouse plus seafood over ever been too (and I’m not a fan of seafood) with excellent service from everyone! Will definitely be back to try the surf and turf next time! Love you all and thank you for making my dad’s night so special! It meant the world to me 🫶🏼

Terrible meal,not sure how they can call themselves a "fine dining" restaurant with the quality of food they served. Firstly you pay up front, which doesn't seem right, especially when I was served an awful meal. The chips were black/blue and when you cut in them the potatoe was grey. The steak was not a decent cut despite it being one of their specials. There seems to be no quality control out of the kitchen. Would not return, would not recommend

An honest & mixed review of our first & last visit to this restaurant. We were recommended Relentless by friends, so were excited to go, however, i found it to be disappointing. We were greeted by friendly staff, who seated us- the lady then informed us that dinner would be pay as you go due to the number of guests leaving without paying (red flag 1), but fine. The menu's were badly printed & stapled together, but whatever, that's just me being picky.(Red-ish flag 2) Our waitress was lovely and took our drinks order. I settled on my second cocktail choice because they were unable to make my first choice- again, it happens, not the end of the world (red flag 3). I found the cocktail to be massive overpriced for the quality though. We ordered some cheesy garlic bread to start- deffo recommend, it was lush. We also ordered the Wagu burger (£25) and a couple of sides. We were asked to pay up front and the total was just under £100. Before our food came, our conversation was interrupted by a member of staff trying to give us the wrong food, who then walked away without a word when we told him it wasn't ours (red flag 4) Our food was served by 2 members of staff who were holding the food together with knife and they said absolutely nothing to us except "probably hold the knife" (red flag 5) then walked off. The burger was nothing as described, which we realised after eating a big chunk of it. Wrong bun, no gold leaf, soggy and for an expensive piece of wagu was overcooked and chewy. Lobster claw was also overcooked. The sides were delicious- we had lobster mac & cheese bites & jalapeno poppers. In hindsight, we should have stopped eating, complained and asked for a refund. But we didn't, so I do acknowledge our error in not allowing them an opportunity to rectify the situation. We were hungry and annoyed. The nice waitress asked if everything was okay & we gave her our honest feedback & she did offer a free dessert, but we declined, just advising feedback for next time. The reason for my poor review is that in isolation these things happen, but when you spend £100 on a sub par experience in the space of less than an hour, the big picture needs to be painted. Other reviews rave about this place, so i would advise to proceed with caution and probably avoid the Wagu burger 😂

My daughter (who's birthday it was) was feeling a little overwhelmed as they'd seated us in the middle of the restaurant, but they gave us a seat that she felt more comfortable in as soon as I mentioned it. Table for 2, we were jammed in a corner by the kitchen and lobster tank which was noisy and not pleasant. We couldn't hear ourselves speak. I didn't question this expecting a full booking but all the time we were there other 2 person tables were empty. I had surf and turf. Medium steak was not rested long enough and was bleeding on my plate. The lobster was over cooked. My wife had a burger which was massively overloaded with salt. Pricey, noisy, and mediocre food.

THE GOOD: The food was amazing, especially the steak. Lobster is fresh from the tank. Staff were very polite. Nice atmosphere and location. Good music too! THE BAD: The Scottish 'king' scallops were borderline queen scallop size. We expected four of your typical large king scallops that you see chefs cooking on TV, but these were way too small and fitted neatly inside one half of one small shell. They had a sign outside saying they had fresh scallops from Poole and we asked for these when ordering, but the waitress knew nothing about it so we said we'd just have the king scallops instead. I think we got the smaller local ones anyway, but ultimately that's not what we ordered/expected. Lobster pricing can vary from the menu price due to supply, which I completely understand, but it's not written on the menu or website so it looked like we'd been overcharged. Wasn't a huge increase (about +£2 per portion), but a bit embarrassing to have to ask. The manager explained it well and apologised to us. Payment in full and up front - again, I understand that they've had problems with walkouts, but I feel something like a 50% deposit would be more reasonable to ask as that shows good faith BOTH ways. We were advised before we even sat down and we did it, but it was a first for us and made us feel a little 'suspected'. What I didn't like was the automatic service charge added to the bill, which was of course taken up front as well, before any service had been received! That's a bit too 'American' for my liking - in the UK our culture is to tip if we've appreciated the service, not be expected to automatically subsidise staff income. As it goes, I would have tipped the good service and it probably would have been more than was taken, but because of that I didn't. Overall though the meal was excellent and I have recommended this place to my friends and family. Just make sure you go in knowing the situation on pricing and billing and you'll be grand.

Nestled away at the end of the boardwalk at Port Solent, is where you’ll find this little gem, and it’s an outstanding restaurant that will not disappoint and is highly deserved of all these reviews on Google ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ! We thought we’d join in and add our little bit of feedback too…. We had been looked after by Will and Sophia, who were just incredible(!!), and a real credit to the hospitality industry. They brought the fun and energy in bundles, and displayed such professionalism and authenticity in their approach too. They really made the evening for us- and I’m in no doubt that others will echo a similar sentiment- thank you both! As for the food, I couldn’t resist taking a few piccies of our starters, as the presentation of dishes really needs to be seen to be believed…. And it tasted amazing! We had steaks for our mains, and again, the presentation, temperature and taste was spot on. When you look at the Michelin Star criteria, Relentless is so on par. I can only hope that the owners stick with the winning model you’ve worked so hard to achieve, as you’ve created something really unique and special from the pricing, choice of dishes, atmosphere and culture, and the talented staff you employ! Went for a meal for my friend’s birthday. Was informed on arrived everything had to be paid for before placing the order which I felt was quite unprofessional. The food was average and prices did not match up to the portion sizes at all was left feeling hungry. The accessibility toilet was left in a mess, staff had to remove all cleaning products out of the toilet for this to be used and gave vague excuses which was unacceptable. The toilet was broken and left my friend feeling unsafe to even use. My friend was very upset with the situation and made that clear to staff, then they decided to have loud rude conversations about my friends comments which again was very unprofessional. We were left feeling very uncomfortable and would not return at all and not worth the prices.

Often now, over loud bands for a small venue. I wear ear plugs and it's still too loud. Even the jukebox when we arrived was overloud, to the point the barman got my order wrong because he couldn't hear me.. Generally a nice friendly crowd. They still don't do food, so not sure why it's on the list of questions for a review.

A truly excellent venue without door and indoor seating. The indoor restaurant has a luxurious atmosphere with linen tablecloths, napkins and fresh flowers on the tables. It is however very reasonably priced. The food is excellent, with it seems, a Sicilian twist. The service at lunchtime was very prompt and the dessert menu was innovative as well as delicious.

I am sorry I had to change my review, it looks like someone else is in charge of Simla now, The food had little flavour and the quality just was not there. I hope I am wrong, but I am not going to order again, I am sorry, and I will miss the Simla that I use to know.
