The food, service, drinks - everything was brilliant. Main review on Alexander House.

The dinner experience was, unfortunately, extremely below par. The service was slow and relatively non existent but worse the food was extremely poor. I had the ‘catch of the day’ of which I had one mouthful, it was bland and dry and inedible. Considering the plate came with 3 items, the largest being the fish, I was surprised that the waiter didn’t notice I’d eaten non of the fish. My wife had the port line which was dry and over cooked. Due to having zero contact with the waiters we ended up paying and leaving. The quality of food and the price was horrendous, I’ve had better service and food at a fast food restaurant. I will not recommending this restaurant to any of my friends or family.

I don’t normally write reviews but honestly I got disappointed, the food was frozen and warmed up. I could imagine it was because of the bank holiday …. The wine was good though🤞 hopefully next time a better experience.

Great ambiance and food, albeit slightly unconventional in attempting to serve dessert before the main!

Reflections is a lovely restaurant. It's one of the few places with a relaxed dress code and environment combined with stunning food. We had a choice from a full vegan menu - four great choices per course, the first time I've ever seen that. I went for an incredible potato curry pie. The only downside was Becks Blue as the only non-alcoholic beer option - of the hundreds of excellent brands available, that's easily the worst one. Strange for such an excellent restaurant. But overall super lovely, great service, ace place.

Clean and elegant hotel in beautiful peaceful setting. Definitely recommend Therapist Claire for a Swedish Massage. She was excellent. Would highly recommend this venue.

We had our first post-lockdown meal at Reflections Restaurant and it was brilliant. The chosen menu was very tasty, we each had 3 courses and there isn’t a bad thing to say about any of them. What really made the experience was the service though. Zoltan was an excellent waiter and made us feel incredibly welcomed and they’ve managed to keep a sense of atmosphere even with the spaced out tables.

Disappointing experience, first told that there were no sirloin steaks left, and after ordering a medium rare fillet steak at £37 it came medium to well done. After sending it back I was told that's what the chef considers to be medium rare so if I want it less cooked it will need to be rare, reluctantly I accepted because I thought it would come medium rare or medium at worse, but the steak came pretty much blue. Moral of the story is that the chef here has no idea how to cook a steak and no concept of correct temperatures. A+ for service though, the manager was very polite and even gave us dessert on the house.

Very nice food but slow service. We were able to get halal chicken. And lamb which was nice surprise. The good was good quality and tasty. Service was too slow...having to wait almost 40 mins from out starters to main.

We had a lovely relaxed meal here which was very tasty. The twist on a traditional prawn cocktail was a particular highlight and gave me food envy!

Overpriced. Hidden charges. Not great food. Not a lot of vegetatain options (no vegan options either). Was not impressed especially for the price of everything.

We had a takeaway meal and it was really delicious! The chicken and prawn main dishes were very generous, all food was hot, onion bajis crispy, Peshawari nan bread sweet and puffy, tarka dahl and spinach based side dishes) plentiful and leftovers have just been eaten..breakfast😄! A real treat, thankyou to the friendly, hardworking staff : Hassocks is lucky to have you here. X🌺

A lifeless tomb of a pub. Cringey decor with those worded signs to Live Laugh Love etc. The reality could hardly be more different. Miserable owners and outrageously priced drinks. Often empty for good reason.

My coffee experience failed at the first hurdle. £4.95 for a flat white. A coffee that could be "enjoyed" over looking a dusty car park, or from a hard looking interior with no atmosphere whatsoever. This is just nonsense. From two previous experiences I had looked forward to sitting on the balcony overlooking the vineyard. What a let down. I believe it is a legal requirement for traders to display prices. Then is none on show for consumers to make an informed decision.

We have been using New Tim Ley for some time now and have never been disappointed (except when they are closed) - they are our go-to Chinese Takeaway. Ordered another delivery last evening for a large group - the lady who took the order over the phone was very pleasant and patient with my hearing issues. The delivery was quicker than forecast and the food, as always, was simply superb with generous portions. An extra Customer Delighter was the free Prawn Crackers and Fortune Cookies. Definitely the best Chinese Takeaway in Burgess Hill - I only wish they had a Dine-In Restaurant, I would certainly frequent that :-)
