I lived on the Broads and used to come here years ago in the 50s and 60s. It was one of my favourite destinations. It remains so, in fact now one of my favourites pubs in the UK. Full of the original decor and now with great locally brewed beers, superbly kept. The food is terrific, we ended up eating lunch and dinner on five occasions during our four day stay in the area. The staff extremely pleasant, friendly and engaging. And they work very hard ! Dogs, not just allowed, but made extremely welcome, like it used to be in old pubs before the ‘fun police, health and safety, E.H.O.’ brigade arrived years ago and tried to spoil it all. Great value throughout, unable to praise it enough, and will definitely be returning, …. soon I hope.

I went to visit my daughter and grandchildren who were staying in their campervan behind the pub. The site was very good and you could go fishing on a lake a short walk across a field for which there was a charge. There were plenty of fish. Had supper at the pub by the ferry which was nice watching the ferry go backwards and forwards across the river. The pub has ramps for wheelchairs but to sit by the river you had to go over steps.

We were staying at the campsite and chanced a dinner here even though the reviews are a bit of a mixed bag. We were happily surprised by the exceptional service - both staff members who served us were lovely - the gentleman in particular (1st Aug) was very lovely. And we were also half expecting some very average food, but it was well above average. On recommendation from the staff member, we had the Reedham Ferry Burgers and the kids had two children's macaroni cheeses and they were all very decent quality - one of the better pub burgers I've had - very juicy and a lovely soft bun! We'll definitely be back next time we stay! Cracking location, too!

Don't normally write reviews after going out for a meal but after reading some of these what would seem non factual reviews thought I would. Myself & my wife went for a last minute meal came across from beccles side so got a free ride on the ferry to use the pub we were asked if we had booked which we hadn't but not an issue still managed to find us a table and told us a couple of things that had sold out/wearnt available place became very busy beer was good as was the food I had fish & chips my wife the ferry burger both meals excellent big portions and asked if we needed anything and if meals were OK Staff rushed of their feet the young chap & lady behind the bar who looked after us really cheery and polite beautiful location they even had a chap singing live although we left just before he started chap on the ferry was really talkative as well. So ignore the negative reviews be realistic its a busy pub so if you want a a-la-carte top notch meal go elsewhere be charged a fortune and still come out hungry or uf like us you like a.proper pub with good honest food then go here no complaints will be back thank you reedham ferry inn 😀

This site is in a fantastic location there is-no argument about that. Sadly that is where thing’s stop. The toilet block, whilst relatively new is very poor and dirty. The washing up facilities have for two days had no hot water. I have rung and emailed the site manager but no reply. The phone just rings out. Considering we are at the start of the Spring/Summer season things are not looking good.

Very disappointed. Only 4 things on the menu for Sunday lunch. Beef or pork roast dinner; chicken pie or leek and mushroom "pie". Small portions: one carrot, two potatoes, small amount of red cabbage. Such a shame because the walk was lovely and the pub is nice.

We could have chosen another Pub for lunch in the area but decided on The Ferry at Reedham. We both chose a main meal from the limited menu, roast beef lunch and a mushroom and leek pie lunch. We were very very disappointed with the meals served up. The pie was tiny and in fact not a pie at all. Very small portion of mushroom and leek slop in a side dish sized bowl with a very poor flakey pastry top. Four small potatoes ,two pieces of broccoli and a spoonful of cabbage. The roast beef lunch was slightly better as you got three pieces of carrot and a Yorkshire pudding,! We didn’t hang around for a pudding as we didn’t wish to be further disappointed. So all in all the food potions were very small and we left hungry!! Not value for money at all. .

We had heard good reviews about this place so chose it to celebrate my husbands birthday. We booked Sunday lunch and 3 nights on the campsite. The pub and location are lovely, I wish I could comment on the food but they chose to serve walk ins without saving enough for those of us that had booked so Sunday lunch was completely sold out before our allocated slot and we were left with a choice of burgers, fish & chips or vegetarian. We decided that if they could not deliver what we had booked we might as well cook something ourself. The campsite is basic. The toilets, showers and washing up facilities could do with a good clean. There has been no toilet roll in two of the ladies cubicles for at least 24 hours. The young lady that cleaned the ladies this morning cleaned the mirrors and sinks - nothing else. Sadly we will not be returning.

Love it, another super week at this lovely site, clean, tidy and great shower block. Spent time with Mr Archer fishing and drinking and having great food in the restaurant. We were moored alongside the single car chain ferry which was rustic and felt as though we had entered a time-warp. The Ferry Inn was old, with no houses nearby, standing alone on a stretch of the river Yare. The staff team keen attentive and homely. The Inn is filled with antique hand-tools, there was always something to rest your eyes on. I ordered Seabass. It was sublime! A large fillet served on potatoes with mustard seed and a delicious buttery glaze. Scrumptious!

None electric you camp where you want in the designated areas & EHU are allocated pitch numbers on a white board. Lovely site next to the river, chain ferry & internally a lovely historic pub. Own fishing lakes & has direct access to river walks. The old white block of toilets were closed (where the pot wash is) Washing machine £4 & did a good job. If you have a moho & want to use the hose to fill up you will have to do it there. Otherwise unless you have a fully serviced pitch the water points are push button (so bring a watering can) The showers are push button & the light did go out as no sensor in shower. They just needed up keeping better - eg missing toilet seat in the men’s. We sat outside the pub which was nice & inside is lovely. I don’t think they were doing food when we were there as there was no sign of a menu nor were we asked if we wanted to eat. Staff were friendly just a little lack lustre. Site is up to 1.5m from village f & c Thr- Sat, 2 riverside pubs, Cannells by the river cafe & deli (all locally sourced very nice) post office tea room & shop. We would stay again & recommend despite the few bits pointed out.

Reedham ferry inn is an old type pub with amazing food the friendliest staff you could ever meet, lovely beer garden over looking the river was so peaceful with the ferry plodding back and forward. The campsite is small but very well rounded, basic loos and showers but fine, lovely walks along the river, just perfect for us,so we will be visiting again as we've been there a few times now. Thanks . There is also a very well stocked shop further into reedham just along the river, selling jams , chutneys, sausage rolls and cakes and along the same strip in a very quaint cafe/post office which serves the best breakfast with a proper tea pot

Visited on a lovely warm day so sat outside by the river. The sun was in and out and it would have been nice to have had the option of a parasol especially as we had a three year old with us, however, there were none. We ordered our food, prawn and crawfish panini and a Brie and cranberry panini. Our little one ordered sausage mash & peas. The food duly arrived and the panini were ok, nothing very special and a meagre amount of chips to go with them, this was a shame as the chips were actually excellent! The child’s meal was terrible! The mash was actually like gloopy wallpaper paste, he left it and ate my chips instead. There was a huge pile of peas on his plate and two sausages which appeared to have been deep fried. Overall, it was ok, the pub itself is looking tired and in need of a bit of TLC . We won’t be hurrying back sadly.

Instead of a thank you from her we bascially got told off. Her customer service skills are really appalling. A smile goes along way, but we definitely didn't get one from this lady. Sadly ruined our first pub experience since lockdown.

Stopped in to eat on the off chance, no booking. We ate outside with a lovely view of the river and ferry boat in action. We asked about a GF menu (each day is different during lockdown being gradually lifted) we were thrilled to find 90% of the menu was gluten free. Daughter opted for bunless steak burger topped with mature cheddar, bacon and chips. Husband had the most perfectly cooked sirloin steak and son and I had roast sirloin beef with all the trimmings. Absolutely spot on! All meat was cooked perfectly, the roasts were gorgeous and you could have moved into the Yorkie it was that big!!! £58 minus drinks but worth every penny.

We were accommodated without a reservation. Service was good, food was delicious. The view from the conservatory was lovely on a sunny but chilly Sunday afternoon. We didnt want a large meal just a light bite and I must say the portion sizes were definitely right. We have stayed at the attached campsite in the past, a pretty site, also a larger open field which was great for our family camp. Nature is all around you; fishing, birdwatching or just sitting by the river and taking in the ever changing view of the passing boats with a excellent glass of beer or wine in hand.

Stopped here for lunch on Valentine’s Day despite the ferry being closed. We hadn’t booked but they couldn’t have been more welcoming and the pub was beautifully decorated. We were offered both the 5 course special Valentine’s menu, or the pub classic menu. Five courses was a bit much at lunch time and we still had driving to do, so I had battered monkfish goujons and my husband had the whitebait. Both were excellent with beautiful homemade tartar sauce and a lovely dressing on the salad. Excellent chips! Prices were very reasonable too.We are so glad we made the effort despite no ferry running (which was well signposted). Will be back again next time we are up that way.Thank you for keeping such a beautiful old pub running so well, and especially to your bar lady who was so welcoming and looked after us so well.

Met some friends that live locally to the pub for Sunday lunch. We all had roast beef and it was absolutely delicious, the chocolate brownie that followed was easily the best brownie I have ever eaten!

Just back from a surprisingly good lunch at The Ferry, a pub i know well as I live in the village. If I am honest, it's been a bit on and off over the years, but i have to say today's meal was fab. A rump steak ordered medium rare and delivered exactly that, furthermore it was full of flavour and very tender, not something you can take for granted with a piece of rump. Good chips and tasty veg, thankfully none of that wet veg stuff. The boss ordered the Sunday Roast, sirloin of beef with all the trimmings and that was also a fine result. Perfectly cooked beef, assuming you don't like it cremated, with generous veg, roasties and Yorkshires. A warm welcome from young James and a generous glow from the woodburner in a characterful bar. Sounds good and it is.

Old riverside pub with meals by the Reedham Chain Ferry, dog friendly too with very good real ales, good food, a good atmosphere, quaint and interesting interior. On our one weeks holiday we came back a second time as the Rib Eye Steaks here were quite superb. It's advisable to book in the summer months.

Book beforehand, this restaurant is extremely popular, especially if you are on a boat. And if you do book, try to book a mooring. The food was superb. The service was fantastic. A must if you are on the boats.

Went this afternoon. They messed up our food order even though it wasn't busy. I collected my coffee, sat down and started drinking it and then they came over and took it away. They said they had accidentally given me my drink in another customers reusable cup. They then bought me a replacement drink a few minutes later which was not what I had ordered.

There is plenty of competition in Aylsham for good bread, rolls and cakes but this is still our go to bakers. The quality and value is excellent and the staff are always very helpful ( happy to put rolls aside for me to collect later). I would recommend the cheese straws and rolls but the cakes are delicious too.

Not the best outlet in Chelmsford the best one is westway. Maldon high street is also very good but very disappointed Costas don’t offer any gluten free products as my wife can’t eat and as to watch me eating

Not the best Costa I've been to. Bit of a wait for the order but otherwise OK. Good choice of snacks available.

So, me and my good lady went here for breakfast this morning, 22/09/24. She asked for eggs benedict and I asked for the full English. My drink was coke and I asked for no ice, of course it came WITH ice but no big deal, I let that go. The meals arrived and my partners was Eggs Royale NOT eggs benedict that she had asked for. I pointed this out to the server and she whisked it away and apologised. My Full English only had one sausage, the menu states sausages, sausage with an S on the end implies more than one and I said so. Also a flat mushroom, as on the menu is not HALF a mushroom, again I pointed this out to the server, along with the fact that my toast had no butter on it and none was provided or offered. The half tomato, again tomato on the menu is NOT HALF of a tomato, looked like it had been cooked before and kicked around the kitchen a few times but I let THAT go too. The poor girl was very apologetic and went off to get my butter, sausage and the other half of my mushroom, along with my partners' eggs benedict, which came back suspiciously quickly considering we had waited for half an hour for our meals previously, and sure enough, she could taste the salmon in it when she started eating. The "chef" had obviously swapped the salmon for ham and sent it back out, luckily my partner is not allergic to salmon.. We ate it and I paid as we were both so hungry that neither of us wanted to try to find somewhere else to get breakfast before the cut off time but we were both VERY disappointed by the whole thing as we expect better from any restaurant but especially one that I THOUGHT was a quality establishment, I was obviously very wrong about that based on this experience, shocked really isn't a strong enough word..
