Red Rose in Exeter

Delicious but disappointing. We ordered late as a colleague is retiring, and we appreciated the bits added to the order. Unfortunately that colleagues veggie dish had exploded in transit and 50% of it was inside stuck to the paper bag and inedible. I called the restaurant: no answer, I called the delivery driver who told me that another one would be brought, however none arrived sadly, so unable to give many stars for service.

food was really great quality. We could pick faults but even what we could pick those faults with was still delicious.

No mint sauce. No poppadums. Delivered rice after saying no rice. Not hot saag side& not hot prawn dish. The rest ok

Hi, well, where can I start? We ordered different meals which one was a chicken tikka biryani which if made properly should take at least 40 minutes to prepare it’s made properly The chicken tikka and seek kebab were overcooked and dry the chicken tikka. Jalfrezi tasted exactly the same as the vegetable curry which obviously should not the only thing that was edible was the poppadoms and garlic and cheese naan I should’ve realised when they offered 50% off anything you buy over £25 the total bill came to £61 with the 50% off put it down to 30 something I advise anyone not to go to this restaurant. They should not even be on Just Eat. I think I should have a full refund as we had to throw most of it into the bin, if I was to give one of 10 score, it would be zero. Ordered for the 3rd time this evening. Each time I’ve ordered the mixed kebab starter the onion bahji has been missing. I even put on notes tonight about the missing onion bahji when ordering and STILL missing. The mint dip in the pickle tray was also gone off and had to be binned.

absolute disgrace only half our order turned up we rang was shouted at and had the phone put down on us. will never use again

Food was really tasty, ordered chilli chicken, lamb buhna and cheese Naan. Best Ruby I’ve had in ages.

The food was so much better than previous. The lamb was lovely. The naan lovely. Sadly the mint sauce was warm & had to throw away. No need for 4 rice on top of the 1 mushroom rice. So next time swap rice for poppadum and cold mint sauce. Nice overall

The food was deviled on time and was hot but mine was very watery and bland and my husband's was quite a bit spicier than he's had elsewhere. Also did not agree with him the next day

Again another lovely meal, don't believe the old reviews. They don't give the restaurant the credit it should have for the massive improvements they have made. keep up the good work and the customers will come back for more.

Late and ordered a Cheesy Nan and they gave me a Poppadom, very disappointed

Ordered a good selection and the 6 x poppadums and a pickle tray was missing but an extra portion of rice was supplied. Tried to phone them (same no on their receipt as well as the website) but number not valid? Tried other known tel numbers and no luck. Unable to contact them to explain and request a partial credit. Happy with the quality of the food and no problem with the delivery - but the accuracy of the order was not good. This was the second time I placed an order and in both cases they forgot items. Had to request the refund directly via JustEat and hopefull this will go through okay. JustEat needs to add another 'stars' option for 'accuracy of order' to help customers with their feedback.

Forgot our rice, vegetable curry was on the bottom so it had leaked

After reading the reviews, I came to the conclusion that this 'famous chef' doesn't exist. The food was very average, had it not been 50% off then I would not have been satisfied. The lamb pieces were like biting into rubber, the sauce was okay and generally not bad overall apart from the meat. I'd say 3 star is flattering but about right overall.

Really nice Indian, ordered one rice but received two extra, ordered one poppadom but received extras plus sauces. Over all really good, delivery was a little longer so wasn’t piping hot but was very nice and saved money with the discount.

The food was stale!! Absolutely disgusting unedable!! The restaurant only offered to pay me £15 back! After spending £43 on food! I refused the payment of £15 because all the food was stale the rice was burnt! Sag aloo was a smlet off! The colour of it was disgusting! Food has been cooked before Christmas! My 6 year old didn't end up having food until very late due to this!! Never ever again will I buy food from Here! Will Be reporting them!

Food was excellent and delivered early. Everything delicious and piping hot. Always forget the curries include rice!! Excellent value for money

Fabulous flavours. We had vegetable set menu for 2 people, and added a vegetable korma. No regrets! It was so tasty.

Food was late, cold and the order was incorrect. Poor service and poor food will not use again. Phone number for restaurant is unavailable so could not contact them overall a waste of money.

Where do I start. Food was over an hour late, was cold and to be honest the worst tasting Indian we have ever had

Unfortunately, the food was cold, cold to the point of being un edible. Absolutely ABYSMAL, VERY, VERY DISAPPOINTED.

This was my first time ordering food from Bombay Spice. I'm quite a creature of habit and regularly have saag bhajee and lamb achari. The saag bhajee was so salty I couldn't eat it. No other flavours shone through - just salt and quite dry spinach. The lamb was deliciously tender without any fat - just how I like it! - but there was not a hint of limey tartness in the sauce. The rice was not delicately flavoured with coconut but so sweet it was more like a rice pudding desert. Overall, not impressed.

Missing item. Restaurant won't answer phone

Food was 20mins late 4 items missing no one answers the phone to get it put right asked for some money back because delay restaurant said no service is terrible one of the containers was only half filled also very salty delivery driver was rude hence the reason no stars

One whole meal missing from order and chicken undercooked!!!

The food was shown as delivered but we never received it. Apparently the restaurant clicked it as delivered but poor driver was still on the way. After calling restaurant we were told that food has been delivered to us and it might have been stolen. When driver arrived 25 minutes later,he had no clue about this mistake. On top of that food was horrible tasting. Half cooked rice and plain onion bhaji. Lamb curry was just a guess work to find lamb out of it. Veg curry was spiced water.

I can forgive the lateness, but not the luke-warm food, chewy poppadom, undercooked onions, and watery sauce. Very disappointed.

Driver was late by 20 mins and the curry qas so warered down it qas like soup. Couldn't even tell if it was korma or not. First time trying this place. And last.

Garlic bread was lovely, food ok but arrived cold

Flavours where unusual, the Chicken tikka didn’t taste like it usually does, there was an over powering flavour. Chicken Ceylon was quite mild.

Have ordered from here before but fancied something different. Tikka Naan was lovely and have since order again. Also like trying different curries - this time a biryani which was nice.

It was very late, the time scroller above won’t let me put how late it was - and then at least half my order was wrong or missing - I’m not ordering from them again, I was a regular customer so it’s unfortunate. I think I’m entitled to a refund of some sort.

My order didn’t arrive so after waiting an hour after delivery time I had to drive to the restaurant to find out what has happened for them to hand me my order. I asked for a refund on delivery as now I had to collect and they said they couldn’t. When I had got home with my order it was cold on the receipt it has said delivery at 8.50 ASAP and I picked it up at 9.45 so I’m guessing my food has just been sat there . I will never order again very disappointed with the service.

Called the restaurant many times and was hung up on, was extremely late and didn’t have any contact through the app and food was not nice. Will never order from here again.

Over an hour late with no update from the restaurant,tried contacting the restaurant multiple times but no answer. Food turns up cold and wrong. Food was soggy and the chicken was rubbery. Was going to cancel order but no option to do so. Won’t be ordering again

Great tasting food but some items were not there, and I got extra rice instead of my Bombay aloo, and no beer came too. Driver and delivery guy was lovely

Arrived 45 minutes late and wasn't nice. Ordered the crab slaw starter which didn't arrive, I got some chicken dish instead. Tikka masala was bright red! The garlic naan is smothered in garlic butter almost as thick as the bread. Even the poppadoms were overcooked. The only nice thing about the order was the pilau rice!

Tikka masala is lovely however rice is definitely microwaved and naan bread was burnt . Chips was also oven chips, overall not great

Won’t order here again as very disappointed. Ordered for a birthday meal but was awful. Sauces all taste poor quality, Tikka masala tasted like tomato pasta sauce, korma was far too sweet & sheesh kebab meat was grey. Naan breads not cooked enough & keema naan meat also grey & unappealing. Also popadums were going soft.

Not good. We've ordered from here many times but today was not enjoyable.

Delivery was quite late, staff weren't helpful about this but luckily the food tasted good!

Missing item! No naan bread, again! 3 times in the last few months, missing item. Today, we have no naan bread wgich is part of the chicken tikka starter kebab, to eat! Not happy! Aubergine dish cold. Poppadums snadhed to pieces. Asked for 2 mint sauces, only 1!? Not good at all

Food ordered at half 5, 3 separate phone calls assuring me my food was on its way, arrived 1 hour late and stone cold, then told on the phone that I'd receive half of my money back after refusing any more business from them, told them I'd drive round to the shop to collect my refund in full and to give them their cold food back to the reply of you come round to the shop we will fight you. Nothing short of disgusting and ludicrous!

Wrong curry delivered, missing a rice, food was "out for delivery" about 2mins after order placed and was cold when arrived, the curry's were really watery as well. I have used these guys for years always been satisfied but now after tonight's terrible order and reading some other recent reviews I won't be coming back, seems they have really gone down hill

Poor experience tonight! Requested that the food wasn’t early because of children’s bedtime & the food arrived 40 minutes early :-( Even worse the food was also barely warm. When I tried to call the restaurant, both numbers I found would not connect so I couldn’t even request new food!! So it was either drive down or the microwave it was (ding).. A real shame!!

Normally my favourite but you seem to be putting aubergine pickle in the curries making them all taste the same?

The food overall was very nice. Both curries great although the Pathia very different to last time, almost tasted like a hot pepper sauce had been used to add spice and not fresh chilli? Creamy dish lovely. Also we were given 5 rice in total for 2 people? Where I requested 1 rice and poppadums sauce instead? I spent £50 and didn’t receive a free dish like over the years too

Food was good but we waited over 2 hours for our food, every time we phoned the restaurant they kept telling us it would be 5 minutes but it was never ‘5 minutes’. Will never order from here again based on customer service and delivery. Shame as the food is actually ok.

Do not order from this restaurant if you actually want to eat dinner before midnight. I ordered specifically from here cause delivery time was 35-50mins with latest delivery time of 2200. It has been over an hour since that time and I still have not received my food. I rang the restaurant numerous times to be told “5 minutes I promise” and then they simply stopped answering my calls. Shocking service with no apology
