Curry King in Exeter

Terrible service tonight. Can often be late, but tonight was 50 minutes after the time they told us to collect our food. No apology given, didn't seem to care. Won't be back. Other people also very delayed for long periods

Myself and my partner had curry king last night and have received food poisoning. He had the chicken korma and I had chicken tikka masala! Order with caution!

Food great. Speed not so but. food was great.

Worst restaurant and the service The one who is on the reception desk is a very rude person and not even apologetic for the service didn’t get the food which was take away don’t trust the reviews and don’t try to make your day worse

Order was over an hour late. Called them once and they apologised saying that it was due to them being busy. Three couriers went to their restaurant but they weren’t ready. For being that late you could have at least thrown in some extra rice or naan bread which would have cost you nothing, to make up for the significant delay. Food was great but service was terrible

Five star service from start to finish.

I had biryani and got food poisoning vomited and diarrhea all night went back second day and he said to me can't give a refund most terrible customer service ever 😑

Have too say one of the best curry’s I’ve had in a very very long time finally found a decent curry house, ok took a while to be delivered but well worth the wait, total and utter FIVE STARS

food arrived cold, lots of rice and sauce not much anything else . special biriani had 2 bits of lamb 4 prawns and 4 bits of chicken the side curry was just sauce onion and peas. the chicken tikka masala had 5 pieces of small chicken. we normally use another takeaway restaurant and have used this as a comparison.

Ordered a takeaway from here while staying in a hotel. I was amazed by how good the food was from here. I often stop off in Exeter for food when driving to Cornwall, but I will make sure to stop here as my favourite place from now. Really delicious. 😋

Ordered through uber eat. The food was tasty but there’s safety risk! There was a piece of sharp, hard and dirty plastic chip inside one of the dish! I found it when I was eating and had to spit it out. It could definitely choke people and cause injury and the food of cause was contaminated!

Food was scheduled between 22:05 and 22:25 but arrived by 21:50. Starter was saturated in oil making it inedible which put me off the rest of my order; the starter was essentially spicy baby food. Wouldn’t order from here again.

We ordered takeaway. Veg manchurian Noodles Fried rice Puri Chole Aloo paratha Decent Indian food. Portions felt small but overall very helpful in Brasov at 10pm at night as this was the only Indian place open.

Dined at the curry king tonight and it was lovely. The waiter was really attentive and friendly. The food was amazing! Complimentary chocolates with the bill that was an added bonus.

Ordered online and went to collect - the place looked shut down and the door was locked - never got the food and money was taken from my account still

Delicious curry, always consistently good. I have dined in on a few occasions but mainly order takeaway. The lamb balti is fantastic.

Amazing food. I got a portion of rice instead of popadoms, which I don't know if that was an error or substitution - but I'll still order again in the future. Delicious.

Some of the best Indian food I’ve had outside of brick lane. Genuinely excellent every time I order. Only ever had delivery so can’t comment on the restraint; but the food is sublime! Delivery can take 1hour so prepare in advance.

We used to eat here a lot, but it went down hill a bit last year and we stopped going. Anyway, we decided to give it another go and it was really delicious - much better than others in the area. 100% recommended - give iacurry King another go!

Ordered for collection, money was taken but arrived to see the place was deserted and not open. Looks like they have shut down. Tried to call but no answer from calls either. Just a warning not to use the order website as it’s still up and running

The food was late and not up to their usual standard. The curry sauce just tasted of chilli and curry powder instead of spices no fresh coriander in any of their dishes and very little in the way of actual meat in the dishes.

Completely un edable! Chicken and popadom was burnt and the mint sauce was gone off.

No updated throughout food timing page and they said it arrived before it had left the store, Never received the drink I payed for.

Food took 2 hours from order to being delivered

Had a chicken byriani & plain nan bread as a takeaway, very tasty!

papadoms were stale. Food wasn't very hot because it was late.

Having ordered and had confirmation from another restaurant I found my order cancelled a little while later. So decided to reorder and tried Curry King for the first time. Glad I did the order was quick and the food was delicious. The onion bhaji’s were the best I’ve ever had whilst all the main courses were cooked to perfection. Will definitely be ordering again 10/10.

Food as always, excellent. Busy Froday night so put in order at 18.00 to be delivered at 19.00. Arrived 19.30. Very tasty though. Would highly recommend.

Love curry king- popadoms are a bit thin these days I’ve noticed recently though, but still the best Indian.

the food was actually really bad. the rice tasted like water and the chicken had a bad taste like they used old/wrong spices. the green sauce, which is usually the highlight of an indian meal, was also bad in taste

Food quantity and quality was not as expected Vegetable side dishes we ordered were so testless and no salt and spices were added and whole experience was so down for the ambience.not setisfied

Sadly food orders fluctuate with Curry King. This time the salad was absent from the starter and the pappadums were stale. This has happened with previous orders. Massively disappointed

Food was bland and look unappealing straight out the tubs . Popadoms was stale you could fold them without breaking them Nan bread was so moist it was like soggy bread all round waste of money microwave ones taste and look better. Won’t be ordering again

Ordered at 18.47 with an estimated waiting time of 30-45 minutes. This then changed to 20.05-20.25 shortly after ordering. I also called the restaurant at 20.02 and was assured the chef had nearly finished working on it so would be with us shortly. Called again at 20.35 and was told the driver was on the way and would be 5 minutes. It eventually arrived at 21.00. I will not be ordering again.

Was very late - took two hours to come. Was 45 mins late from the latest time given.

It was ordered well in advance and still hasn’t arrived yet, despite it saying it has. My first order with Just Eat, quite disappointing

I have been getting a take away when they were in Cowick st and since they been in heavitree, and it was an hr late and watery, by far the worst meal we have had in over ,8 yrs

food was very good and thankfully Curry King was kind enough to bring the food to us because just eat failed to deliver again.

Well how things have gone down hill. curry King use to be good but now when they get the order wrong despite customer saying it three times they said the customer changed their mind!!!!!! Then the food they do deliver is inedible the properdums are far from crisp in fact they bend. The onion Baji are also mushie. AVOID CURRY KING HEAVITREE quality is rock bottom but charge and zero customer service.

Mix grill was excellent. Customer service was good.

Ate in the restaurant with two friends. It was a repeat visit. The food was tasty.

Manager 0 / 5 Food 3 / 5 Deep (Kitchen staff) 5 / 5 An extremely disappointing visit to Curry King in Devon. The customer service was the worst I've ever experienced. The manager's attitude was rude and unwelcoming from the start. It felt as though he had no interest in maintaining a good dining experience and instead rushed us through ordering. In contrast, the kitchen team member Deep was extremely polite and apologised for managers primitive behaviour. Really wanted to give Deep some tip but I was worried that the nutcase manager would tell him off too! What a tool that guy was! He needs to manage himself first then try to manage people! When we tried to order more, he scolded us for not ordering earlier. The decision to charge £0.85 for each foil container was puzzling and felt like an unnecessary money grab. The manager's inability to handle criticism was evident when we questioned his behavior and approach. His sarcastic "thank you" as we left only added to the negative encounter. I left the restaurant feeling frustrated and disheartened. To make matters worse, the food was disappointingly basic. This experience left a lot to be desired, and I hope that Curry King takes these criticisms seriously for the sake of future patrons.

45 min late food great apart from tandoori chickens shrivelled up and dry but meal for 6 all else great

Had a really nice curry here. Was an unexpected gem. Really good food at a decent price.

Had takeaway for 6. Think changed chef as meals were not as nice as last time. Poppadoms were totally smashed.They were out at side of dishes in bag. Shouldn’t have been in the bag.

Really good level of potent spices in my lamb curry (I forget it’s name). The restaurant is nicely decorated and they put on some pleasant music. Being solo they encouraged me to the small table in the window but I was slightly put-off by how dirty the window cill was. Good food, will choose a different place to sit and stare!

Utterly horrendous, tasteless food. Tarka Dahl like water and Madras overpoweringly sour. Avoid at all costs.

Great service and great India food

Disappointed with the takeaway this time around, ordered online and given a time. I had to ring as the order had not been delivered well after the given time. The garlic and herb curry was delicious, I had the peshwari chicken but the chicken was as tough as old boots. The side order of dry vegetable curry was so salty we couldn’t eat it. The garlic Nan was missing any garlic and was not fresh and the poppadoms were brown and totally over cooked. Not worth the £30 when all we could eat was one curry and some rice. I will think twice before ordering from here again

Food was much too late. When I called the restaurant they said they were struggling with a lack of drivers. Why wasn’t I told that when I placed the order? I had a very early start the next day so when the food arrived I had to eat and then go directly to bed on a full stomach. Would not use again as far too late arriving

Brilliant food and staff, always ready to help and advise.

They rang to check we knew one of the dishes had gluten in, as we'd asked about gluten free.

Having been there before and no complaints tonight I got a chicken madras which was awful and sour. Will not be returning ever again

Really disappointing. Have used curry house before and previously was fine. Unfortunately, food was watery and bland.

No problem with the timing but I do have an issue with the delivery charge it was supposed to be free delivery but I was charged £2. The chicken curry and the pilau rice was fine but my lamb pathia was so sweet as to be inedible.

Had an enjoyable curry here, which was excellent value for money. Portions were generous and the menu offered a good range of options. Whilst this wasn't the best curry I'd ever had, it was affordable and plentiful, which after a few beers, really hit the spot.

Sat here full to bursting from the very ample portion yet I could happily eat it a second time for the flavour and texture. Bang on. 10/10.

Ordered a rezala and it was terribly salty! I couldn’t eat it as it was just too much. As mentioned previously I think they have changed chefs… Their prices have gone up massively too. You’re better off using tamarind bay they’re cheaper and it’s not salty

I think they have changed the chef or recipe I have ordered twice now and the curry’s have been ridiculously salty! Way, way too much salt in them. I ordered a cheese naan and got a plain naan. Nothing drastic but they have definitely changed chefs

Freshly cooked. Piping hot. Delivery was earlier than the 45-50 minute predicted time. Great service, taste and choice. Highly recommend.

Great service! Never had such a speedy delivery from anywhere - obviously cooked fresh and with such a quick service the quality was so much better than other takeaways which have obviously left it sitting - will order from here again
