Ordered a Tandoori Chicken Main and Keema Naan. Absolutely lovely! Quick to collect.

Got food poisoning. Have always eaten here and never had a problem but this time it gave me and my Son a stomach bug as we were the only ones that had the food.

Just had our order arrive. Mums was fine but mine said dupiaza when I ordered a pathia. I didn’t mind as I like a dupiaza but it wasn’t that either. Tasted like a Chinese curry which I’m really not a fan of. Disappointing

Have had a few takeaways from here over the years which have all been good. Had sit in meal with a friend. The tikka Marsala is really nice. Strangely, they did not have two of the soft drinks on their limited selection. As other posts say, they don’t serve alcohol but you can take your own. What we ate was very nice and the service was very attentive. Restaurant looks nice and clean and fresh. Just one thing- I did not like the TV on with lots of frantic Indian dancing on it, it had lots of strobing lights which we both found uncomfortable. If I was epileptic it could have caused a real problem. If I was the owner I would leave it off or just have some rolling Indian nature shots on there! Prices average. Had warm hand towels and after eight mints and oranges at end which was a nice touch. Would go back.

We had our first meal from Argee Bhajee delivered. Prawn bhuna was really good and met our expectations King prawn Dhansak again a meal that was absolutely lovely and I devoured it. The side dishes were perfect too We've found an Indian restaurant/take away as good as the one we have used for the past 25 years but left behind when we recently moved here, we're very happy about that and will eat in and out. Delivery was on time as booked. Can't fault anything related to our take away

Lovely food, very tasty and would recommend. Thought we’d try somewhere different and we were pleasantly surprised. Friendly waiting staff and very attentive. Bring your own booze!

Went with friends and had the banquet meal which is very good value. The food is very good and served on hot plates which is always a plus for me. The staff are friendly and helpful. They don't serve alcohol but you can take your own and pay corkage.

It’s quite a while since we had a takeaway from here, but OMG it was so good. We had chicken tikka buna balti, peshwari chicken, chana bhaji, pilau rice, garlic nan and popadoms. All delivered on time and piping hot, by a very polite young man. Great quality food, all nicely spiced, first class customer service.

Use to be one of the best Indian takeaways in Exeter by a long way but it’s certainly not what it use to be. Portion sizes reduced (chicken chunks in dishes) & it appears you no longer get complementary popadoms after spending nearly £70. I think the gesture of free popadoms goes a long way but it seems this has now stopped. Sadly we wont be going back after being long standing loyal customers of 10+ years. Time to find another takeaway who are more focused on looking after customers.

It saddens me to say it but this place isn't what it used to be. It's my favourite Indian ever for flavour but for a pound extra to have lamb in a curry I would expect to be more than 4 5p size pieces in there. Was pretty much just sauce

Arrived 30mins earlier than predicted by Just Eat. We had two curries, naan, rice and sag aloo; all were hot, delicious and good value for money. Would definitely order again.

The best Indian take away in Exeter!! We moved from one side of the city to the other a few years ago and STILL go back here when we want an Indian meal. Never had a bad meal or experience, collection or delivery. Very highly recommended.

Very disappointed with the service! We were over charged for food and when confronted we were told that there had been a price increase of 10%. We picked up a menu when in the restaurant and no increases of prices were shown, no information on display in the restaurant and we were not told in person or over the phone when we ordered. We will NOT be returning!

Good lamb dansak but very disappointed with vegetarian main as it appeared to be just veg side dishes combined instead of the main dish (Avail) stated on the menu. It was very bland and no heat/spice at all.

We ordered a takeaway to celebrate my Birthday and since we are having our new kitchen installed, and had no means of cooking this evening, had the perfect excuse! This is our first experience of eating a takeout from the Argee Bhajee and we were so very pleased with the quality of the food. I had the Ceylon Curry with King Prawns and my husband had the Newabi Biryani and neither disappointed. They were very tasty and we had some lovely onion bhajis and nan breads. We would certainly choose this venue for another occasion and will recommend. Thank you for providing a menu leaflet for us for the next time.

Awesome. Just wow. Ordered online for first time, arrived by taxi 10 mins earlier than guestimate, piping hot food. One of the best ceylon and jalfrezi had in almost 20 years. Can't fault it. You've made a returning customer of me. Top marks

Great local! Seated us on a Saturday night, staff were friendly and welcoming. Food was reasonably priced too, food was tasty, flavoursome and great.

Great food but it is so complicated !!! I simply want to order a curry for delivery, and am happy for them to store my details for another time. But no, it is a nightmare every time, and I end up giving them a phone call !!

Put in a massive order which took 2 hours, when food didn't arrive, I phoned up and the so called manager was rude and put the phone down on me... And didn't even refund my money and didn't even get my delivery 😡 not even worth a one star...Thief's

Need to get their website and timings sorted. Food ordered for 7.15 collection but confirmation said 7.40 collection which was ok. Left home to pick up food in time for 7.40. On the way to the restaurant we had a phone call asking when we were going to pick our order up as it had been ready since 7.15. When my partner explained about the confirmation saying a later time than requested the restaurant's response was that he was not the only person to say that. If you know there is a problem why not het it sorted. Food was ok considering it has been sat somewhere for over 30 minutes. Would have been good to taste it at its best, freshly cooked. Shame they are let down by their tech.

I would recommend raising a complaint with your bank to get money refunded. I did and though it took time, I did get my money back! Lesson learned read reviews!

Placed order online, payment was taken and website said it was 'completed successfully', only to immediately receive an email saying 'Your order has been declined. Please call us'. 1. Update your system so that it doesn't take payment for orders that you can't accept. 2. I'd recommend updating your cancellation email to be a little more polite and apologetic (and more importantly include your phone number so I don't then have to google it to ask if I'll be refunded). After calling to ask about a refund I was told it was automatic and then when I tried to say anything further I was hung up on. Unbelievably rude. Would give 0 stars if I could. I do understand that it might not be possible to fulfill an order but a simple 'sorry we can't do it because of xyz' would have led to a VERY different experience on my end.

We have ordered food from here on multiple occasions and it has been great service up until our last order. We tried ordering through Just Eat, but the order was unsuccessful so we decided to do it through the website. We received confirmation it has gone through and had an order number. An hour and a half later there was no sign of our food so we called the restaurant. They told us the order hadn’t shown up on their end but promised to get it cooked and delivered asap. Another hour passed and still no food so we rang again and were told it was on it’s way. Bearing in mind we are only ten minutes drive away we were very hungry and fed up. We asked to speak to the manager but were told we should call back the next day to discuss the matter with them. The order finally arrived just before 10pm which was two and a half hours after we originally ordered it. We felt very let down by the whole experience and just wanted to get to bed. The next day we called up and asked to speak to a manager, we left our number and were told we would get a call back. We are still waiting. All in all, we are very disappointed with the service.

Normally argee bhajee are really good. On this occasion they gave me chicken balti, it was more like onion balti. Left most of it. Disappointing.

Awesome Indian meal. I had the chilli chicken massala which was perfect spicy and flavoursome. I would highly recommend them as they are the best in Exeter in my opinion.

Yesterday I ordered a chicken biryani which seems to be a rice and chicken and they give veg curry which was very bad in taste. If you don’t know what biryani taste like Please don’t sell it. I don’t even want to give single star to this place.

I am from up north! And I struggle to get authentic ! Indian cuisine in the south west ! , I have just had a simple chicken balti ! With fresh green chillies added ! With a pila rice , and it impressed me ! And I'm rebound in the family for being super! fussy !

First time ordered a takeaway from here and I wouldn’t bother again! Completely tasteless and my chicken was so fatty! My mums veggie curry looked awful and looked as if they just throw what ever into it and very watery. I do not recommend ordering their food. I did email them but no response from them

Quick service but h the at is about it. Wish they had taken longer. The food was unpalatable, naans warmed up with hard ghee, tandoori meat so bright red/pink it was unrecognisable, and a prawn ‘korma’ which had so much sauce it was hard to find the frozen prawns in it. Dreadful...maybe holiday staff but I should think holidays are the time to put your best foot forward?

It was our first visit in Exeter, we got lost and decided to stop for a mel, and it was one of the best we've ever had, with delicious tamarind flavourings. Not only that, but the driver led the way back to our Hotel asfterwards, otherwise we would never have found it, not having a satnav 0or a googlemap. So many thanks, we'll never forget it.

Loved the takeaway, hadn’t ordered here before and it was quite delicious. The dhal was a bit watery and perhaps too much “vagaar” in the form of burnt onions, but wasn’t horrid. Lovely naans and the madras is really delicious and so are all the vegetable side dishes - especially loved the mushroom, yum!

Went for a meal with family and ordered a mixture of dishes. They were accomodating to children's fussy taste and offered chicken with chips and peas. Amazing flavour and great value for money. Loved it

Simply pot luck i use it every 7 or 10 days and just when i think shall i risk it again they come up with a good one,honestly mostly good food, but the portions vary so much from nearly empty pots to almost over flowing, light fluffy rice to a congealed blob, onion bhajee from melt in the mouth to, you could hit them with a cricket bat and break the bat cant be any more honest.

Over 45 minutes late, ask for Tandoori chicken that states it's skewered but came on the bone, women said that's how it comes and I'm wrong! Couldn't understand that you can't put a skewer through bone??! Attitude stank and wouldn't help whatsoever! Just give them your money and they will choose your order for you, delivery it late, not say sorry for being late! Good luck!

Absolutely superb curry. We tried the tamarind chicken and a Peschwari dish. Both were excellent. In fact, even as a bit of a curry addict, the tamarind chicken really stood out- sweet, spicy and a bit different. I have to say the staff were also excellent- they were very helpful and made it easy for us to eat with our baby (who enjoyed flirting with all the staff). It's also nice that you can bring your own beer or wine in when you dine. Top marks for both food and service, we will be back!

We ordered online at 7.55 and got a delivery time of 9pm. Our delivery arrived at 9.30 and was of great disappointment. The Saag paneer was salty, the Korma was watery, the coconut rice taster plain and dry and the nan arrived dry and cold. One of the worst Indians I've had Such a disappointment

We ordered on Saturday night (admittedly a bad time to order) but it took over two hours from order to delivery, after two follow-up calls that both promised it would be there in 15 minutes (it then took another hour). When it arrived, the food was greasy, over-dyed and underwhelming. Won’t be ordering again.

Was really nice only you could tell that the meat was microwaved by the heat of it after it was delivered..

Have just eaten Tava Chicken and Lamb Roshan, both beautifully spiced. The garlic naan was lovely. Highly recommend. Consistently excellent.

We have used this takeaway a number of time and always been good, but over the last couple of months it seems to have gone downhill. The Chicken Chat was so salty it was not edible and the Begun Bhaji was described as “medium heat” but it had no heat/flavour at all!! I would not use them again, also delivery is very slow.

When you pay over £30 for a Indian takeaway you think they’d give you a popadom or two. Also way to much tomato in the sauce it’s all I could taste and the keema naan had no meat in it and fell apart at the touch. Won’t be ordering from here again if there’s one good thing I can say is that the delivery was on time.

Fuimos a celebrar el cumpleaños de la calle 21 de nuestro hijo solo con la familia. El personal no podría haber sido más servicial y encantador. A todos nos encantó la comida y el ambiente era genial, me gusta el hecho de que no es la decoración de un restaurante indio estándar, es contemporáneo con un toque de humor que realmente me gusta. También tienen diferentes platos que no hemos probado antes, lo cual fue realmente agradable, sin colores añadidos a la comida, lo cual fue una ventaja. Sin duda volveremos cuando esté en Christchurch.

When we phoned them they refused to refund the £5 because we had no way of proving it. Its not the money. Its the principle. I will simply not tolerate this kind of customer miss-trust and will no longer be using this take away. Yes we should of checked our order on arrival but in classic style we were rushing around putting children to bed. Why not have a more customer focused service? Why not offer to make a note of the error and simply not charge us next time? Now, sadly there wont be a next time for us and Argee Bhajee have lost a regular customer.

First time we had a Curry from here in a very long time it was Delicious so went back again a few weeks later & again last night I had tandoori King Prawn it was not as good as the first time don't know what they did different....

It's been a while since we have been, but recently noticed the restaurant was open again, so as it's so close to home when our friends said they were coming I popped in and booked. They don't have a bar now, so we took our own wine and beer, which I prefer anyway. We were amazed to find we were the only ones in the resteraunt, but it doesn't spoil the experience. We were made really welcome and the service was spot on. The best bit was the food though, really scrumptious. Probably the best Indian meal I have ever had and our friends said the same. I will definitely be back!

Used to be the best Indian in Exeter. But must of changed chefs as had the same meal as usual a few months ago and it was horrible. But I thought it might of been a one off so we tried it again tonight and it was even worse. Chicken was like a leather boot and sauce tasted of fairy up liquid. And it wasn't just my meal either. I have never complained or rated low before but I think this 100% deserves my bad review

This was our 4th takeaway and once again it was tip top. All the dishes we chose arrived hot and well spiced. Even the delivery guy was polite, keep up the good work. The best in Exeter by a long way.

Encontré este pequeño lugar en TripAdvisor, mientras que en la zona de vacaciones. Restaurante luminoso y limpio con mesas bellamente decoradas con flores frescas. La comida era excelente de principio a fin. Tenía el 12 por cabeza de banquete (Sun - Wed) que tenía un valor excepcional. El servicio amable y la comida venían rápido de la cocina. No dudaría en volver si estamos en la zona de nuevo y lo recomendaría. (No tienen licencia para servir alcohol, así que tómate tu propio si es necesario)

Por lo general, me encanta esta comida para llevar, pero en los últimos meses me decepcionó mucho. La calidad ha bajado y en al menos 3 ocasiones faltaron artículos de nuestro pedido. Esta noche, sin embargo, el restaurante no estaba interesado en resolver el problema, solo se quejó de que vivimos muy lejos (estamos a unos 3 o 4 millas y ¡nunca ha sido un problema antes!)

Ahora hemos tenido 3 para llevar desde aquí, todos los cuales se han entregado como se esperaba, solo 1 se retrasó unos minutos debido al tráfico pesado.
