I had eaten here a few years ago when I was in Tampa and loved the food. Kerala cuisine is my favorite. I had a chance to stay close to the airport and remembered enjoying the food here. I looked up the place and to my joy, they are still serving. I ordered a couple of my favorite fish and chicken with the parotta. It was so good. I have turned other people on to this place and they rave about the food. They are renovating the restaurant but you can still order and pick up - which is what I wanted to do anyway. Thank you for the authentic food.

I am so glad they were open during their extended renovations. I don’t live in Tampa but when I come here and stay close to the airport, I make it a point of getting some food here. I ordered a couple of my favorite fish and chicken with the parotta. It was so good. I have turned other people on to this place and they rave about the food. Ant rate the atmosphere since we keep getting take out

Came to this place hungry at 8:45pm since the closing time said at 10pm. There was no light and the door was closed. The guy who was standing outside said they are closed for dining in and they only do pick up orders. Like what?? What restaurant in tampa closes this early. Very disappointed.

They should make it clear in on their website that this is a food truck next to a gas station. It looks like the original restaurant is closed.

Curry Leaves is amazing. The only problem I've ever had is getting an item or spice level wrong, but just remember to be clear in the Special Instructions. This place is 10/10. Love the Chicken Tikka Masala.

This is hands down the best Indian restaurant in Tampa Bay! My son and daughter-in-love turned me on to it about 4 years ago and I've been going back there ever since when I want some authentic, Indian food. The eggplant dish I enjoyed this eve. was simply divine. As of now you can only carry out food - was told by an employee that they are working on rebuilding the interior of the restaurant - but it is still worth this inconvenience as you can take it home and enjoy it there!! Highly recommend it!

Indian food is my favorite. I've eaten it in many places, including India, London and NYC. I recently tried this takeout only restaurant. I did eat in the actual restaurant too, before it closed. Now, they let you order at a trailer. I am disappointed with both of my orders. The Somosa's are very small with not much filling. There were also reheated and overcooked. We ordered several different dishes and all of the sauces were very bland and not very flavorful. They almost tasted like they came out of a jar you could buy in the grocery store. The meats that were in the various sauces were okay. Again, I would prefer more flavor. The various breads that we tried were all very good. I personally think there are better choices in Tampa Bay for Indian food.

Today lunch mutton biryani was nice

There are very few restaurants open after hurricane Milton but Curry leaves is still serving the community. The food was amazing especially the coconut rice. Everything we ordered was fantastic.

I’ve always loved a good hole-in-the-wall, and this Indian food truck might not have walls, but it's got *soul* — but don't let that fool you; the food is straight-up restaurant-quality. Between the pillowy naan that could double as a cozy blanket, the chicken masala that made me question all previous life choices, and the samosas so good, I cannot recommend this place enough. If you miss it, well... that’s a personal problem.

Their paneer khurchan is one of the best Indian dishes I've ever had! I crave it all the time now.

Beware this is not a dining location as it used to be. This is just a food truck in the parking lot. When I called to check for whether they are open or not. At least that time they could have made it clear that it is not dining. But they did not or may be they wanted us to come. So we went there but sad there was no place to sit. Ended up going to another restaurant. And they should change it on google maps somehow that it is a food truck. It shows up when searching for Indian restaurants.

Always delicious. Authentic. I usually pick my food up on site but they do have a short delivery radius available. I often order one side of rice to go with my curry and then wish I ordered more (I don’t live in the area anymore so I don’t have easy access to a rice cooker/pots and pans). Cheers!

I wish I could give 0 star. Today I had chicken biryani it is like onion chicken over rices very bad taste. I never had biryani of such kind.

Surprisingly, this has been some of the best Indian food I’ve had in Tampa. It’s a shame that the location on Kennedy is only open for takeout and has no indoor seating. If it weren’t for the food being cold when I ate it, it would probably be 5 stars. The Methi malai chicken might be my new go to Indian curry. The chicken was so tender and the sauce was very creamy. There was very little spice at all, and they didn’t even ask how hot we wanted it. The Kerala poratta was good as always. The butter chicken dish did not hit the same as the malai, it almost tasted like tomato soup and was kind of off putting. Stick to the malai if you are going here.

The food is good, but the portions are terrible. For $16, I expect more than six small pieces of chicken. The quality has declined since my first visit. My latest Uber Eats pickup order was particularly disappointing. I'm not sure why this is happening, but it is no longer worth it.

The food is good but the quantity is awful I’m paying 16 dollars for a dish I expect to get more than 6 small pieces of chicken and this just keeps getting worse. The first time I got food there it was solid but it just keeps getting worse every time I go there. It may be because it was an uber eats pickup order. I don’t know the reason but I’m awfully disappointed and the 25 minute drive no longer seems worth it.

This place is still under construction and there is a little food trailer and there is only pick up no dine in. The food is good but we ordered paneer and it got chicken in it. But overall it was good but you gotta figure out where to eat if you are new. There is no place to eat. Only take outs no dine ins.

Ordered Kadai Paneer, it was the right spice level (Indian Spicy). Taste was good. Paneer felt a bit hard, might not be very fresh.

I hate to rate them poorly not because of their food but it is misleading for them to call themselves a dine in place. They keep saying they are remodeling - probably open in 2025. 3 years to remodel a small place? I have a feeling the food truck model is more profitable so just say that in your description so people don’t just show up. Update I upgraded the review to a 2 after reading your response. However, I think you are being awfully defensive accusing me of trying to destroy your family business. Is that how you react to every less than happy customer? About social media - lots of people are not on it. i just wish you would say on your website and Google description that you are running a food truck and you have very limited parking. People will still patronize you but you will set their expectations appropriately. BTW I did not make up the 2025 opening date. I got it from one of your employees.

Every dish I’ve tried from Curry Leaves has been awesome. The butter chicken and garlic naan are among my favorites so far but I am working my way through the menu.

I was told by many people to try them out. I had chicken vindaloo and it tasted like tomato sauce with no flavor. I haven’t had Indian food without a flavor. I also didn’t like the fact that they have a bus where they cook outside by the gas station.

Food is good. And service was really quick. Bhavya was attentive.

One of the best food that we had in recent times in Clear water Florida... Must visit if you are really looking for spicy authentic Indian food. As a vegetarian, I have ordered rasam soup, Kadai panner, chapati and some white rice. The star of the evening was undoubtedly the food, crafted by the incredibly talented Chef, which showcases his deep passion for the craft. Hopefully will visit again soon. 😊

Don't be turned off by the location, a gas station food truck was suspect for me at first. Their food is amazing. The food is cooked to order from scratch, you can smell the amazing aromas of Indian spices coming out of the food truck and you can see some authentic food being cooked real time. I love the authenticity, some of the best Indian food I've ever had. They really care about customer satisfaction and cook with their hearts.

It's a food truck with Indian food. They prepare it fresh so it was a twenty minute wait bit the wait was worth it in the rain. Yes, I stood in a parking lot with my umbrella waiting for the meal I ordered Takki chicken dry and coconut rice and let me say...it was worth waiting in the rain for it. The food was delicious 😋. If I am ever back in Tampa I will go there again. Oh I forgot large servings too.

I love this place! My wife and I consider ourselves foodies and we don’t just eat anything because it’s food. We’ve gotta like it to love it! We LOVE this place!! Don’t be caught off guard. I know you’ll probably have the same feelings when you approach the restaurant and see that it’s next to a gas station. This place is a hidden gem and we drive all the way from Clearwater just to eat their food. Give them some grace and an open mind. When we started coming years ago they had a restaurant and still do but they’re doing renovations to it so they have to keep the business going by cooking out of a food truck! The food is just as great! Seriously! I’ve been coming here for years! If anyone is looking for amazing Indian food this is the place- no exceptions! You will love it and I can’t wait to see the updated restaurant! Don’t write a negative review because they can’t open their restaurant right now, it’s out of their hands. They’re doing the best with what they have so let them continue by pushing out legendary cuisine!

I would say best indian food so far in USA, i had heard about this place since I landed in Tampa and went to try it out other day after trying multiple places. I have to say, food is as authentic as it can be. They don't take shortcuts, spices, chilli and herbs, cheese, garlic everything was used perfectly. looks can be deceiving but the food is absolutely no inferior than any Michelin star resturant.

We did take out from Curry leaves while visiting Tampa based on all the good Google reviews and was excited to see Kerala food which were recommended by a popular YouTuber. We tried many items from their menu and some items were good or ok and others disappointing. But I think they are really overpriced for the quality and the expected Kerala taste .Beef Ularthu, Fish Biriyani (either Mahi mahi or Tilapia) and Chicken Varutharachathu were ok. Chicken Biriyani doesn't taste like any version of Kerala Biriyani. We called the restaurant to confirm this before placing order but unfortunately it tasted more like North Indian Biriyani with boneless chicken pieces. Vegetable biryani and Pepper chicken was below average. Kerala Porotta was good the first time we ordered. But second time it was the worst we ever had. It was definitely a frozen store bought one and not made in-house. At least they could have given a better brand frozen one. The frozen ones we usually get from Indian store is 10 times better than this. This restaurant charge around $5 per porotta and we can usually get a frozen family pack for that price. Extremely over priced and disappointing in taste and texture. Mango Lassi has excessive cardamom taste but Jalebi tasted good. I read that they now operate out of a food truck and I am not sure if the sub standard food was because of that. But if thats is the case, they should definitely price it accordingly.

The food is okay but the staff is super rude there. We drove 30 mins to have some Indo-Chinese starters and ordered Paneer Chilli and Chicken 65. Paneer Chilli was pretty good but the Chicken 65 was bland with no salt. First they argued, then they said will re-make it and after waiting for 15 mins, they said they’re not doing it. That’s the most rude behaviour towards your customer I have seen in any restaurant ever I have been to. Don’t be in this business if you cant handle customers and have anger issues. I am giving taste of food a 3/5 and <0 for their customer service.

Food is above and beyond, favorite Indian in the Tampa area

Despite the restaurant being closed for renovations, they're serving thru a food truck. Made our 2+ hrs trip totally worthwhile. Authentic and tasty food! Waiting to go back for more, especially want to try the Jackfruit seed vegetable! 9th Apr, 2024. Can only get go to order, but ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT! We got the fish biryani, fish vepudu (appetizer) and went across the parking lot to the Westshore Plaza (mall) and ate the food there. So very good!

Curry leaves used to operate out of a restaurant next to the BP gas station but now the kitchen is under going a kitchen remodel till August 2024 . Their backup plan is operating out of a food truck next to the same gas station and we are so lucky they are continuing cooking in the food truck. This place is amazing with authentic Indian curries of meat, vegetarian and many other goodies . We got the Malabar goat and chettinand chicken, roti and aloo paratha and it was amazing. There is no dine in area for now but the food is amazing as to go. You will be delighted you did.

We ordered take out but, when we went to pick up our order, the dining room was closed. We were instructed to pick up take out from food truck park on the side of building. I am totally fine with that but, I am concerned that the restaurant isn’t going to open dining room? Is it under renovation or are they moving or closing? I really up it’s just renovation and they will open soon!

Food which we had today was fully oily.. Earlier we used to love having food from curry leaves.. Considering the taste and quality we purchased it today .. However the food disappointed us .. It was full of oil and no taste as well.

Look, I think the food here is great and the service is good. Very friendly, but I just think it's too expensive. The lunch was delicious but I cannot justify 20 dollars for a lunch. Let me reiterate. The food was very tasty. But I think lunch should be $10 dollars, not $20. Therefore, I rated it 3 stars.

One item and bread enough to fill half your stomach will cost you $20 and up for the same price. You can feed a whole family anywhere else. This is not authentic Indian food. It is Americanized and very sweet. Everything involves coconut. They need to restructure their price menu, make it affordable for a food truck, it is not a restaurant and put some authentic Indian food on the menu.

Don't sleep on this place because it shares a location with a gas station. It's the best Indian restaurant in Tampa. Consistently high quality. Each dinner portion can easily be made into two meals. The vindaloo, phaal, and chili garlic naan are personal favorites of ours.

I placed the order for Paneer Makhani and Naan! The amount of color, the over sweetness, the paneer being stiff and not soft and fresh, half cooked naan was very disappointing and upsetting. I placed the order by looking at the reviews and the overall good badge by uber eats. This food was stale, bad in taste, badly presented and I spent 30$ on it. I just feel bad. I don’t usually leave reviews, but it was so bad, that I wouldn’t want people to spoil their appetite and health.

Was craving some Indian food, and this was the first place that popped up and they had great reviews. The food EXCEEDED my expectations. It was delicious and everyone was so helpful to ensure I received my order. Every plate was super flavorful and we will definitely be getting food from there again soon. Great portions - had 4 meals/4 people & we will all have leftovers!

I had my first Indian dish at a very famous restaurant in Doha, Qatar many years ago, and immediately fell in love with the taste and the aromas which the Indian cuisine is very famous of. Since then, I’ve tried many restaurants in the Us, but Curry Leaves was the only restaurant that came at the same level. Their korma is to die for, the drums of heaven are truly heavenly and their Biryani is just out of this world! I dined in when they were open for dining in, and always had a wonderful experience with the servers, and I still order to go, while patiently waiting on their construction work to be done. Absolutely amazing!

They are going through remodeling so only take away, I ordered chicken briyani, chicken wings, butter Naan, kadai paneer... the chicken was very hard both in briyani and in wings... Naan is actually like tandoori roti and was very thick... because of these reasons I rated 1 star

We were very excited to try this place as we’d heard it was amazing. We ordered pick up and waited the 45 minutes to drive over. When we arrived they said they were still working on our order so we waited an extra 25 minutes. When we got home with our food we were disappointed at the flavor and quality. Our dishes lacked flavor and the wings were drenched in oil. We will not be dining here again.

Chicken biryani was no where close to biryani.As soon as I opened the lid I can smell the rose water essence for few minutes. Naan’s , paneer curry and samosa chat was well done.
