Curry Leaves Indian Cuisine is a total joke and calling it a restaurant is straight-up false advertising. It’s literally a food truck parked next to a sketchy gas station, pretending to be a legit dining establishment. The huge sign says “Indian Cuisine,” but come on… what part of standing in a parking lot next to gas pumps screams cuisine? We drove 30 minutes thinking we were going to an actual restaurant, only to end up in front of a food truck with zero heads-up that the dine-in spot is “temporarily closed.” While we stood there confused, we watched two other couples show up and leave just as disappointed. Clearly, we weren’t the only ones misled. If you’re looking for an actual Indian restaurant experience, this ain’t it. Update your listing and stop misleading people. It’s not that hard. Right now, it’s nothing more than a drive-by disappointment.

Since the restaurant closed and everything started coming from a food truck, the quality has noticeably declined. I’ve tried different meats on multiple occasions hoping for better results, but the texture and taste continue to disappoint. I feel bad because I used to love the place now I feel there are better options.

This place showed indoor seating but only the parking lot food truck was open for to go orders. We got our food and when we finally ate the dosa it was horrible, the batter must have gone bad and the food was sour! Poor experience for out of towners!

Curry Leaves Indian Kerala “Restaurant” is a complete joke—and calling it a restaurant is pure false advertising. It’s just a glorified food truck parked on the side of the road, pretending to offer an authentic dining experience while charging absolutely ridiculous prices. Five bucks for a tiny piece of naan? You’ve got to be kidding me. For that price, I expected at least something fresh, flavorful, or filling. Instead, I got a sad, overpriced scrap of bread that wouldn’t satisfy a toddler. But the real disaster here is the service. The guy running the place couldn’t care less if customers are waiting, confused, or standing there for 15 minutes. He flat-out ignored us, acted like we were a nuisance, and made the whole experience awkward and frustrating. If I wanted to feel disrespected while spending a ton of money, I’d go anywhere else with better food and actual seating. Don’t waste your time here. Seriously—any other Indian spot in the area will give you better portions, better service, and way more value for your money. Curry Leaves is a ripoff wrapped in fake branding, and honestly, it should be avoided at all costs.

I hadn’t been here in about a year, but my most recent pickup order was pretty disappointing :( I scheduled the pickup and arrived about 5-10 minutes early, letting the 2 guys at the food truck know I was there. My car was parked directly next to the truck, so one of the guys said that he would bring my food to the car. 25 or so minutes pass and no food, so I go up to them, and one hurriedly grabs a bag, hands it to me, and just lamely says he forgot. I had seen someone bring bags out from the kitchen about 15 minutes prior, and I recognized the one he handed me as one of those. Suffice to say my food was soggy and lukewarm, and the unapologetic way I was given my hundred dollar order didn’t sit well with me. I would have rather just gone back up to get my food instead of wasting my time, but I guess I just trusted that they had it under control because my car was literally 10 feet away and I didn’t want to seem impatient. I hate having to give them less than 5 stars because when their food is fresh it’s fantastic, but it seems like their customer service has really gone downhill. I really hope they can get the dining room back up and running, I would go back if I knew there were reliable FOH workers that cared about food quality and service.

Indian food is my favorite. I've eaten it in many places, including India, London and NYC. I recently tried this takeout only restaurant. I did eat in the actual restaurant too, before it closed. Now, they let you order at a trailer. I am disappointed with both of my orders. The Somosa's are very small with not much filling. There were also reheated and overcooked. We ordered several different dishes and all of the sauces were very bland and not very flavorful. They almost tasted like they came out of a jar you could buy in the grocery store. The meats that were in the various sauces were okay. Again, I would prefer more flavor. The various breads that we tried were all very good. I personally think there are better choices in Tampa Bay for Indian food.

If it weren’t for the food being cold when I ate it, it would probably be 5 stars. The Methi malai chicken might be my new go to Indian curry. The chicken was so tender and the sauce was very creamy. There was very little spice at all, and they didn’t even ask how hot we wanted it. The Kerala poratta was good as always. I hate to rate them poorly not because of their food but it is misleading for them to call themselves a dine in place. They keep saying they are remodeling - probably open in 2025. 3 years to remodel a small place? I have a feeling the food truck model is more profitable so just say that in your description so people don’t just show up. Update I upgraded the review to a 2 after reading your response. However, I think you are being awfully defensive accusing me of trying to destroy your family business. Is that how you react to every less than happy customer? About social media - lots of people are not on it. i just wish you would say on your website and Google description that you are running a food truck and you have very limited parking. People will still patronize you but you will set their expectations appropriately. BTW I did not make up the 2025 opening date. I got it from one of your employees.

TAMARIND BAY! What a place! Me and dad were working away last week and we fancied a quick curry, we were going to take away our food but after sitting in the restaurant for a few minutes and being treated like royalty (even though we were covered in paint splats and dust from the job) we were greeted with the upmost amount of respect and professionalism. THE FOOD WAS INCREDIBLE!!!!!! We are from Portsmouth and we would genuinely go out of our way to come back to Exeter for a curry again. all round amazing experience lovely staff and excellent food!

Great food and service. Used the banquet deal (£16.95) which included papadom with garnishes, starter, and main. Very happy with the quantity and cooking quality. Recommend
