The food waa not upto the mark. the chicken and lamb both were hard to chew. though got an extra item with the order but still not satisfied

Full of flavour with the authentic kick of Indian heat, the recommended dish from the waiter hit the spot. I will certainly be back to try something else from the menu.

Visited Sunday evening. Very quiet, great service, lovely menu, even did a dish for us that wasn't on there!. Mine was THE best chicken Shashlik I've had anywhere!. And my hubby's Dhansack was fabulous too. Highly recommend this restaurant. Plenty of seating, clean and friendly. Will definitely be back when next in Exeter. Thank you!

Fantastic food, so good. A modern feeling restaurant with friendly staff and a popular vibe. But the food was just delicious - clearly very thoughtfully and carefully prepared. Not cheap, but worth it - delicious.

Ganges have been there forever, other curry houses have come and gone, superb family run business and the quality of food is 100% don’t go anywhere else

Little cold but ordered close to closing time so understand. Chicken tikka pieces are amazing! Big chunks of whole muscle chicken - what impressed me most is they weren’t just dyed red they were coated in actual real spices. Very delicious

This indian place is the best one I have ever known there curry's dont have any floating oils they are made by top chefs i have mine delivered the garlic bread is fantastic value loads of garlic butter and soft bread 🍞 I had another one last night my greyhound love's the white rice 🍚 anchor butter she eats the lot

This place is VERY expensive. It cost £155 for 6 of us. They do not do a kids menu something of which we didn’t know before we went as there was no way of finding out. We didn’t know this till AFTER but, The manager went over the road to the chicken shop, bought chicken nuggets for £3.50 and charged my daughter £6.50 x 3 !!! Service was just ok. Food was nice. Lovely interior. We won’t visit again.

We order take-a-way from Ganges and visited in person last month. Best curry house in Exeter, food is beautiful, flavoursome with tender meat and not overly oily. Restaurant is pleasant and have always found staff/delivery staff friendly. Highly recommend.

We love the food here, truly likely the best Indian food in Exeter. The shashlik was amazing and when I asked for extra chillies with my garlic chilli chicken they gave me loads, that is an amazing dish. The keema nan ranks above the best I have ever had. I want to give it 5 stars but., the waiters are a little bit distant, even grumpy, I did manage to crack a smile once but it is hard work. I am aware that likely the staff have to put up with plenty of drunken abuse but we were sobre and would have like to feel a little more welcome.

The delivery driver needs a raise and recognition for being one of the cheeriest chaps I’ve ever seen deliver a meal. 11/10 for the driver!

Very sad to say it was un enable.very salty, burnt garlic. Will not be ordering again. Very upset as this was a treat and a complete waste of money

What a waste of money, it was for me to have used the slightly cheaper places to save a few quid. Delivered foc and fifteen minutes ahead of eta given. Everything hot, succulent, and tasty of the charts.

Had a team-building dinner there yesterday. Service was "OK"... Ordered a Salmon Fish curry; (konkan Fish curry)..paid £17.50 for a very small portion of Fish no more than 80grams..what a bloody rip off..Accordingly to UK regulations, portion of meat/fish to be served in resto"s should "Not" be under 140grams...my meal looked like a "Happy meal" that my kid would have had ...and still be hungry afterwards. I went home feeling still hungry. Food tasted really good but, for that price, what a Bloody Rip off.....

Tikka Masada was very bland , needed more spices.

Our Film Crew enjoyed a great evening at Ganges last week. As we are on location this restaurant came recommended. We were not disappointed... the food was just amazing, the staff looked after us very well, nothing was too much trouble. Many thanks, we'll be back!

I wouldn't rate recommend the Paneer. I found the taste wasn't fresh. left a bad after taste. The peshwari nan was disappointing, like having a bounty bar coconut filling in bread. I wouldn't pay the high costs for the quality of the food. Better choices out there.

One of the worst staff ever seen, placed a takeaway order and when called back to enquire about the food was abused by the staff in their local language. Being from India Feel ashamed to get abused by Indian staff only. Seriously pathetic.!

We booked a meal before seeing a show at Corn Exchange. Despite being the only ones in the restaurant until we left, we wasn't rushed. Food was amazing. I had Chicken Korma and boiled Rice, the chicken was tasty. The staff couldnt do enough for you. I remember going to The Ganges many years ago and it was just as good now as it was back then. Thank you, we will be back.

that was the best garlic bread 🍞 I have ever had loads of garlic butter all over it with loads of green leaves 🍃 😋 on it and my dog loves the plain rice with my butter mixed up with it she ate the lot and the curry was lovely. cheeky Tuesday best value

We stopped by as it was raining and fancied a curry He had a biriani and I had a makhani Bombay spuds and a couple of naans All was delicious and cooked perfectly the service was impeccable Will definitely be returning

Been here a couple of times now in the past couple of weeks. Staff are friendly, always accommodating and able to sort anything you need. Food is very reasonably priced and is of top quality too. The perfect venue for a family meal or work event. I can highly recommend this place to anyone that is after a decent authentic curry.

Very average. Service wasn't great, starters were good, vegetarian dishes were nice, the Chicken Madras was awful (it looked like Tomato soup and didn't taste of much at all). Didn't appreciate the 'optional service charge' added to the total or the fact that the chutneys were separately charged.

Favourite restaurant in Exeter! Amazing food and service, came here with a huge group and the service was super quick and food was delicious!! Definitely recommend:)

kebab platter was ok, lamb was fatty and very little of it. tarka dahl was like water and swimming in oil.

This was excellent Lamb marabar was best curry I have had I. A long while. I will be back when back in Exeter. Curry fans head this way.

Ate here tonight and absolutely delicious. We had Malabar Lamb, Chicken Murg, Sag Bhaji, Spicy Cauliflower, Pilau Rice and Garlic Naan, plus Poppadoms. All delicious, beautifully cooked and fragrant, and we could pick out the individual spices. Great modern atmosphere and nice staff. Bengal beer excellent too.

This place does a good job- the food is carefully and well prepared, the popadom chutneys are good, the Nan bread above par, the cauliflower side dish really good. I recommend

Quiet Tuesday night in Exeter. Ate early (before a show in the Corn Exchange) so we were the only ones in there to start with. Lovely restaurant. Good service. Nice menu (not overloaded) and delicious food. Nothing not to like.

Had a great meal here whilst visiting exeter. Amazing veggie options and so tasty, decently priced too! We had a range of different sides and starters, rice, naans etc which were all amazing alongside some alcoholic drinks and spent under £30pp. Good atmosphere here too

We were a family table if 8 on a Saturday evening. The staff were wonderful. We celebrated two birthdays and they gave us a birthday cake with candles . Highly recommend the tandoori chicken with salad.

This is without doubt the best Indian Cuisine in Exeter, and a serious contender for the best overall restaurant as well. I have visited Ganges Restaurant on countless occasions - large groups, small groups, family and couple visits, and the quality of the service and food never changes. I would highly recommend trying some of the more adventurous, traditional dishes on the menu as this is where the fine cooking really shines through. Having visited 90% of the Indian Restaurants in Exeter and surrounding areas, I can confidently say that you will not regret a visit to Ganges Restaurant for an authentic Indian Dining Experience.

We went for a family meal with teenagers and a four-year-old and four adults. I ordered chicken Schlick which was nothing like I’ve ever had before rubbish. My granddaughter who is 13 chicken was raw and had to be re-cooked. My husband tandoori chicken was very salty and as a result has been ill with stomach cramps and sickness all night Will never visit again Give us

We had a great meal in the restuarant so we were really looking forward to our takeaway. Unfortunately the food was tepid, the onion bahjis were delicious. The curry was also quite bland.

Not as good as in it's heyday. The curries were tasty but the service and atmosphere was mixed. At the end of our uneventful meal, and after giving him a generous tip on a quiet evening, the angry young waiter turned the lights on and told us without any warning that the restaurant was closed. We went to Ganges looking forward to having a pleasant meal, which was ruined at the last moment as we were treated like stragglers by a surly bouncer at a nightclub. We will avoid this restaurant for a long time.

We've had curry from this place before, but for some reason it was atrocious this time. Watery, pale, bland curries and it all generally fell flat. Wasn't a terribly cheap order either so it's a real shame it turned out so poorly.

Worst madras I’ve ever had, never known a madras to taste like a sweet and sour microwave meal from shop, glad I don’t live around here if that’s how they do it 😂 swimming in water/oil had to drain it in sink, mates jalfrazi wasn’t that great either….starter was nice tho. Why no fries or pickle tray on menu? Il be having another curry on weekend back home to make up for tomato soup I had dished.
