We called here for an early dinner on a Wednesday evening and were presently surprised at the service and the lovely food. There's a large car park at the rear so no need to try and squeeze in at the front like most. We both ordered the Chicken curry with half rice and chips. (I just copied me Partner). It came with nan bread and the portions were large and neither of us could squeeze in a desert after. The ladies serving here are lovely welcoming people and were ever so friendly. The restaurant has a cosy feel to it and it was that nice we decided to try and return two days later. I called and booked a table for 6pm as it does get busy on a Friday night. As it was early there were only 3 other tables and again it was a very enjoyable meal. We ordered the lasagne each and I ordered a separate plate of chips. Which was more than plenty to share as again the portions were big.(The lasagne was tastier than the chicken curry). Desert followed and I had the Waffle with Nutella and ice cream and my partner ordered the chocolate brownie with cream, both lovely with a very tasty cup of coffee. No room for anything else.... But what a lovely homely meal. We will return next year for some tasty food. 10/10

Popped in to this pub with a group of friends after being out and caught in heavy rain. We must have looked rather bedraggled but we were made very welcome by all the staff even after putting our dripping coats and hats all over chairs and pushing tables together so we could all sit together we were made to feel so at home by the landlord and lady who were so accommodating to us. Absolutely great friendly old style pub. Just wish we lived closer.

The service was okay, a bit of a long wait (almost half an hour after ordering) which was difficult because we had young children with us. The staff were friendly. The food wasn't amazing and the chef really likes to use coarsely ground black pepper which was all over the the roast potatoes and mixed in with the cabbage and swede and carrot mash. I really don't like black pepper and neither do our grandchildren. The meal was totally ruined! I did politely suggest to the waitress that she may want to mention this to the chef etc. I just got a "sorry about that" Our bill was over £100 and personally I would have offered some sort of discount to reflect out experience. Sadly we will never be going again.

Staying in the area and decided to come here for dinner. Welcomed by friendly staff to both us humans and dogs! Dog biscuits brought to the table while we waited for our food. One of us had the chicken curry half and half (rice and chips) and the other burger with bacon and cheese. Both were very generous portions (which was good as we’d walked miles and were hungry!) and really tasty. Both of us were beaten by the portions which made the dogs happy as they got some burger too! Will deffo call in again when in the area.

We had a takeaway Sunday roast - dogs are allowed but we chose to eat at our lodge. Super size portions and all freshly cooked, sadly black pepper added to nearly all the veg so I couldn’t eat most of it. Would definitely go there again but be more aware of ordering to avoid the black pepper. Lovely, lovely people though very welcoming and the restaurant looked great, cosy and warm, looking forward to our next visit.

So to bring to an end a lovely 17 day stay in Bude thought we would treat ourselves to a roast dinner before our journey home. Their website is showing completely wrong opening times but they offered to fit us in just after Sunday lunch times was closed. Which at the time we appreciated. So the establishment is not modern but is clean and tidy and was greeted by the polite and helpful bar lady. We ordered our dinners and drinks. Then our 2 adults 1 child dinners arrived!!! Absolutely covered in Ratatouille not only do we hate this tomato based meal as a family it’s completely wrong on a roast beef & pork roast dinner. This stuff was all over the meat on to the potatoes and in the gravy. It’s a complete meal in its own served with pasta?? Surely. I was close to tears as my partner hates this my child hates this and I hate it. 3 dinners ruined so I politely asked for a plate to attempt to scrap it off, using tissues to clean the plates. The proper vegetables arrived in a separate fish to help yourself. My child never really touched her dinner. She ate the crispy frozen yorkshire pud. I struggled to get the tomato taste off my food even asked for brown sauce. Sadly it was such a disappointment to an end to a lovely holiday. Lots of full plates left on the table and then paid for it which upset me. I did mention it to the bar lady who was very sympathetic and offered to pass on my comments that ratatouille does not belong all over a Sunday roast The photo is what we attempted to remove from our plates but it was to late it was over everything. I would say go here for a meal just be aware if you don’t want this speak up as you get no choice.

Cracking friendly pub with absolutely delicious food. People come from afar for their car very and we can see why. Best I’ve tasted for a long time. Home cooked with wonderful gravy and stuffing. It is only a small inn with lots of history at a crossroads where a hanging post once stood. The car very is fantastic considering it’s not one of these big chain pubs. The choice is not as big but who needs big choice if quality is outstanding. Plenty of veg and roasted potatoes which is constantly refilled. Their Cornish cream teas are excellent too and Admirals fish pie!

My second review of The Red Post Inn which is going from strength to strength in popularity. Having visited a few times since my last review I cannot fault the carvery which is delicious. My reason for a slight downgrade is they seem to be overbooking tables in their success! Tables are cramped together and there didn't seem to be the time to clean prior to cutlery being placed for the next diners, as evident on our table! I hope standards do not drop on what is a friendly restaurant with a nice atmosphere in its infancy!

Regarding the heating issue on a previous visitors post the heating is now installed & the Inn was pleasantly warm.We will be returning soon to sample their new menu. The place was basic but clean and the girl behind the bar continued to be attentive, making conversation over our journey etc. The carvery was reasonably priced and I was a little wary that so late in the sitting whether the meat was going to be dry. We did not try the carvery as we were too late arriving on the Sunday and we ate out on the Wednesday, but it looked good and the restaurant was full on the Wednesday, with people coming who seemed to be regulars. The fish and chips were good, brownies very good. Out of all the meals we had there only one was not good and that was the chilli beef, very tough, not nice at all. I recommend this place to our guests as being somewhere reasonable to eat especially if they have children . Feedback has been ok , so I thought we would have a takeaway and try it out when our family came to stay. So , the food was ok, in fact the fish and chips were probably better than most in Bude. But and a big but , customer service was non existent .I popped in to get a menu so I could call later with my order , no one was about so I stood and waited and waited to ask for a menu . Staff walked past me and I just got ignored . Eventually whilst reading all the usual pub signs I found a beer glass with one paper menu in so I took it and walked out still having not spoken to anyone. After phoning my order , we went to collect and again got ignored and waited and waited then at last someone notices us and takes the payment , there was no indication given of how long we should now expect to wait for the food . She just took the money and no further conversation !Finally our food was given to us after a good 10 minutes plus wait . So in a nutshell food was quite nice but service awful, I felt invisible all the time I was there . I want to recommend this place still , but the service will need to improve to get the recognition it deserved for the food .

Having lived just a mile or so away from Red Post for the last 17 years we've not used it regularly, this will change since eating there at the weekend!Great, friendly service right from the minute we walked in the door. We had booked a table for 4 and were told to choose where we'd prefer to eat. Good choice of real ale (Doom Bar or Tribute) and cider (Thatchers Gold or Haze) and a really good menu. Not overpriced. Extensive specials board too.We all had starters, 3 of us had their mushrooms in a stilton sauce (which was heaven on a plate) and the other had the soup, which again looked excellent. Our only 'issue' with the mushrooms was the portion was a bit small or did we just want more?!?!?! We all had different main courses from the mixed grill, chicken curry, rump steak and belly pork. I had the belly pork with a cider and cream sauce and it was one of the best meals I've had locally in a very long time. Two had puddings, ice cream and treacle tart which my other half said was lovely with plenty of clotted cream. All in all it was a fantastic meal with excellent service. You really couldn't ask for more and we will definitely be back very soon. In fact the home cut chips were so good we called in on Sunday for a couple of portions for a chippy tea!!!

We've driven past so many times and this place used to look forlorn, but today we stopped because we heard that new people have taken over. As we approached the door a couple coming out said the food was great - they'd had John's fish & chips - delicious! And excellent value. Lovely warm welcome. This is clearly a family enterprise with heart. We'll be back to work our way through the specials menu!

I loved this place. Proper pub grub choices and the food was really nice. The mushrooms in Stilton sauce was amazing. Reasonable prices, friendly staff and the seats were comfortable!!

We thought we would give the Red Post Inn a go for a Sunday carvery. They were very busy which was a good thing as we had heard the carvery was popular. Orderd some drinks from the bar and was shown to our reserved table. Lined up at the carvery and there was plenty of choice, I opted for all the meats turkey, lamb and beef with yorkshires, lots of different veg to choose from and a good selection of sauces. Meats were lovely and tender and the veg done nicely. Good selection of deserts and all good value. Plenty of parking outback if front car park is full.

Hungry and saw this at the junction so popped in with fingers crossed. Nice and friendly place with a few customers eating. There is a camp site behind so was surprised the food is fresh and home made. The menu is your normal bar food with a few specials on the board. We went for the lasagne, with chips and salad. Food was good and decently priced. Nice place to find on this route as they appear few and far apart.

I've passed the Red Post Inn many times and only been in once but after tonight I will definitely be back. Ideal for pub food on the trip from Launceston to Bude. I had the best steak I've had for ages and my partner had Johns famous fish and chips. Rod caught cod with homemade chips, lovely. It's amazing what new owners can do for a place. Lovely food, good service in lovely clean surroundings. Will decibitely be back

We stopped here on the way back from a long coastal walk in bude. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with the friendliest welcome from the barmaid, we come from London so not used to that!!!! She was welcoming, chatty and an absolute pleasure.Really excellent customer service, food menu looked great and good value for money although we didn't get the chance to sample it, we will certainly go back for a longer visit!!!

The Red Post Inn has a campsite to the rear, discretely hidden from view if you just want the Inn. This review is of both the Inn and the campsite as I stayed for a long weekend, camping in tents with a group of friends in the campsite, and we used the Inn for food / drink (and a bit of shelter too !). Campsite is compact and well maintained. Excellent shower / toilet block - clean and spacious. Pitches had water and hook-ups, although we didn't use this as we were under canvass. Children's Play area with climbing frame and grass mowed - perfect for me. The Inn was a lifesaver as we arrived later in the day and in the midst of a downpour whilst trying to get our tents up. The Landlord set up a fire for us to warm our bones, quickly followed by fish and chips and a glass of beer. Just what we needed. The Inn and the campsite are family owned by Paul & Tracey, who care about people and their experiences there. They have great plans for the future and I wish them all the best !

We came for a Sunday carvery on my husbands birthday and couldn't fault the visit one bit!Staff were all welcoming and friendly, chef is a lovely bit of eye candy ;)We was served drinks very quick and food was hot! Lots of choice of veg to go along side 3 different meats. Yorkshires were lovely and definitely all home made! Very good prices for quality of food and will 100% be back again very soon! By far the best roast I've had out! Yum yum yum

We have heard that a new chef is just starting work here. Perhaps this explains our sorry excuse for a meal. For the record we have had several excellent if pricey meals at this restaurant. This meal was pricey but a million miles from excellent. There was a weird-tasting buttersquash soup oddly paired with a far from fresh hard pork pie apparently found in the freezer, a tiny square of cheese and a portion of chutney. Did they run out of bread? Apparently knives were also in short supply because we ended up sharing one between us. There was an oddly flavoured sausage roll type thing with almost raw cabbage, fried carrots in skins and a separate dish from which three lonely roast potatoes contemplated this culinary car crash - and which were the only pleasantly edible items. All this in a restaurant formerly well-regarded for its excellent home-grown vegetables. We felt ill afterwards. We noted during our visit although the gardens were quite busy with family visitors few of them chose to eat in the restaurant. We did wonder why - and now we know. Rosemoor is not a cheap day out and hard-pressed families are not going to add to the expense of visiting the gardens with a bad expensive meal. Other restaurants are available and sadly we can't consider coming back unless we see clear evidence of improvement in Tripadvisor reviews.

Our Daughter and partner have just recently moved to the village and we were visiting for the first time. Decided to go out for dinner at the Kings Arms. Not disappointed , the food was excellent with a good menu and special board and an excellent pint of stag. Despite being very busy the staff were attentive and friendly. Only disappointment, it’s not my local. Looking forward to returning soon. Thanks

The van runs a generator all day to power the van, noisy and polluting. must be a greener way to run a business.

Room was spacious. Food was lovely, landlady was extremely helpful and welcoming, she cooked a late meal and early breakfast out of hours. Only reasons this place gets 5 stars is because i cant give 7. Pub dog is named Devon, he is a cutie
