Red Lion in Sheffield

Took 1 hour 40 mins to get to us and was disgusting. Everything fried or boiled to uniform beige. Wandering dragon was particularly nasty

Food was lovely. Only criticism on food, there was very little meat in the duck chow mein. Food was delivered 20mins after the latest estimated delivery time, which was disappointing.

Perfect food as usual! Big shout out to the driver for calling me to find where I was, as I had put the house number in wrong somehow! Thank you :-)

Waiting time was given as being between 30 to 50 minutes. Ordered at 7.15 and delivered 8.55. Realistic waiting times should be given before ordering. Flavours ok but noodle in chow mein overcooked and rice was in one big lump. Not worth the money

Prawns overcooked. Meal very dry.

Food was lovely & always is! However, arrived and the bag was open as the delivery driver had ‘almost delivered it to the wrong house’ and had to get a refund on the prawn crackers as they weren’t in the order. Not sure whether these were just forgotten or if they were left behind at the wrong house!

Our order wasn't nice at all the meal i had the sauce was like water with a bit of colouring we also had vermicelli which was too wet it's supposed to be dry and shouldn't take nearly 2 hours to make it's very poor service

Horrible cold food delivery can take 10 years sent wrong orders waste of money

Worst food ever… vegetable spring rolls were greasy, black bean sauce was terrible, quality of meat used was very bad.. would never ever order from this restaurant ever again, had to throw the food in the trash…

Estimated delivery time was then extended by 35 minutes after the order. We couldn’t track the order on the app as they hadn’t accepted it so se had to phone to check they had received the order. Food lacks flavour, seaweed is stale.

Order arrived as normal despite the bad weather and snow. The delivery person did such a great job getting our order to us, he was very polite and friendly when he arrived despite it being bitterly cold. Great service all round, the delivery person in particular. I’ve always found the food and service from Red Lion to be excellent!

Food not particularly great. £7 is quite expensive for the low quality chicken in the salt and chilli chicken which I received, and lack of fresh chillis or spring onion unlike most other restaurants. Same goes for the salt and chilli chips. Chips themselves were fine and well seasoned, but the accompanying garnish left a lot to be desired. Hoisin sauce was very grainy, congealed, and had a funny barbecue aftertaste. Plain chow mein was strangely 50p extra to have the dry version, stuck with the wet version but that was very salty and stroomed with huge slices of onion. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

The sweet and sour sauce is inedible. It smells very strange. And tastes like its gone off.

I've been a customer for years but recently the prices have gone up massively and the quality has gone down. I had Special Fried Rice tonight (currently at £7.50) and there was hardly any meat in it at all, it was really bad. Literally a couple of tiny bits and one VERY small prawn, the rest was just rice and some peas.

Food beautiful piping hot and really fresh best Chinese I’ve had in a very long time . Sweet and sour sauce tasted very strange not what I’m used to but the food is truly amazing

£7.60 for a bland king prawn chow mein with just dried wheat noodles bit of onion and 5 king prawn!!! And fried bland beansprouts £5.50 £17.90 in total. Disgusting!!!!

Ordered food at 6.50 and was told an hour, nearly 2 hours later the food arrived. I could not eat my meal as they may as well have emptied an entire salt pot into the food it was inedible. Tried to call but got no answer. Used this place for a few years now but not anymore. Very poor customer service.

I’ve been coming here for years … absolutely love the food BUT … I’ve just realised they are robbing me of my money ! I pay around £70+ every time for rice !!!! Yes rice … chicken chow mein, chilli garlic lamb and spiced chicken wings £70 !! I mean I understand prices have increased but I’ve just totted it up on just eat !!’ And they’re robbing me basically … absolutely disgusting won’t be coming here again !!!! Custom service is getting worse, they are very rude. And always waiting too long for food.

Bit disappointing really, curry sauce was watery and I’m sure the peppers & carrots in the chow mien were frozen.

All good apart from the ribs being way too salty so will have to request a refund for the ribs

The delivery time was over an hour, it was friday night though.. the food was delicious chilli and garlic king prawns are the best!

As usual the food is great the service is great and delivery on time. You could not ask for more. Best Chinese take away in town

Food was delicious loved the duck was not shredded so much tastier. The peking ribs were tender and so tasty. The chicken curry was just lovely and the fried rice was beautifully cooked not stodgy. So nice to actually get really nice Chinese food.

The food was very cold, and not even edible. The food was thrown away. The portions were small for the price that they charge. Definitely not worth your money!! Even the driver was sat in his car for 5 minutes before even handing over our order. I want a full refund!

Even if its the best Chinese in the world I won't be ordering ever again, the driver has rang and asked me to work and meet him at some carpark as he can't even be bothered to drop off in front of the hotel.

All the food was cold when it arrived drinks were warm and the food was cold. I’m sure it should have been the other way round

It was late but piping hot and absolutely delicious! Will be ordering again. We are new to the area so this is now our regular Chinese!

The food is always amazing. People always say that their Chinese takeaway place is the best but I truly belive that this one this the best of them all. We love red lion every time we have food from them.

It was OK, the crispy aromatic duck was on the bone, not shredded. Delivery driver didn't want to get out of his car. Probably won't order again but wasn't terrible

So tasty - best Chinese in sheffield. Only fault is the small portion of prawn crackers, although they are free anyway
