The Frog & Parrot in Sheffield

Dropped on this pub while looking for a Brunch spot ... interesting menu .. my daughter is vegan ... I'm a meat eater ... there was plenty of choice for us both ... she had mixed tapas plates and I had Katsu chicken burger ( I think that's what it was called).... it took a while to arrive but that's fine ...it was clearly freshly prepared and very very tasty Full marks to this pub ... lovely decor ..great music being played ... but ...wow ..a wetherspoons style trek to the ladies ...up and down stairs !!!!! Would definatly visit again . SD Leicester

This place is incredible!!! Loved the interior so much. Soooo quirky & stylish. Esp loved the Union Jack Ceiling. 🇬🇧 Staff were brilliant. Food real tasty! & this pub has a fascinating history. Immaculate throughout.

Another great visit to the Frog and Parrot. The atmosphere was laid back, with good tunes and friendly staff. Feels like one of those quirky London pubs (just, on our doorstep). We enjoyed a few gins and vodkas and a couple of delicious burgers. Very relaxed for a city centre pub. I felt like I could have stayed there all day.

Delicious food, friendly and warm service. The atmosphere at this place is unmatched and the staff really make you feel welcome and comfortable. I would definitely visit again!

Been here at least 3 times and love their wings but today they completely put me off and won’t returning unfortunately. Ordered 2 portions of 12 wings to eat in and also take away as l was staying in Sheffield overnight so wanted a snack for later. I asked the guy at the till if l could do a take away and he initially said no then l asked if l eat in and have left over can l take them away and he said yes. So on that basis l ordered. I even ordered a wrap and had my dinner. After l was finished, l then asked for a take away box and the lady came back to me and said they don’t have any take away boxes which l found it hard to believe for such an establishment. She wasn’t even helpful and didn’t come up with suggestions she just said sorry. I feel like this was done deliberately because of my first question that do they do take away and they thought l just ordered to ask for a takeaway box. I left a full portion of wings and l feel completely ripped off.

5 of us and a dog enjoyed a meal today. Between us we had roast dinners, steak pie and a burger. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals and the prices were reasonable. Nice surroundings and friendly barman to welcome us. (The dog didn’t have a meal but was given a bowl of water). Couldn’t fault it.

Zak greenslade served us and was very helpful and kind! lovely atmosphere and great service! visiting here for the weekend and wanted to visit this place, was not disappointed

Went for lunch there. Hadn't been before. We ordered some food, but 45 minutes later when it still hadn't arrived I was ready to ask for my money back and leave. The staff we spoke to said that the delay was due to them being so busy, but there weren't more than a dozen people in there, including us. When the food finally arrived I had to send some of mine back because it was burnt. The rest, ironically, wasn't very warm, but by that point I just wanted to get out of there. I wouldn't recommend it unless you have lots of time to kill, and like a combination of barely warm/burnt food. My partner's food was OK.

Went for the festive menu with cocktails followed by the Wednesday Christmas music quiz. Food came out quickly and all dishes were delicious. We all really enjoyed the quiz, great atmosphere and a good range of ages participating! All staff were welcoming and friendly, especially the quiz host. Could not fault the evening. Definitely will be back thank you!

Came in here for food again it gets tastier every time I'm sure staff are very friendly and efficient it is also a good night out with great atmosphere I would highly recommend 😀

Recently enjoyed a brilliant Saturday afternoon with friends in the Frog and Parrot. We loved the busy, friendly atmosphere, the music was very eclectic and the staff really welcoming (even making great recommendations for the best g&ts despite being super busy). What a great place to go to spend time with friends. Definitely be back again soon, and hoping to try the food next time, it looked delicious!

Visited the Frog & Parrot with family on a Sunday afternoon. F&P was one of my favourite pubs in Sheffield in my younger years and I can gladly say it still is 20 odd years on. The decor, set up & atmosphere reminds me of the Greene King pubs in London. Lovely friendly staff, good food & great beer. Weekdays and early evenings you get nice chilled vibes and on a Fri/Sat night you get a lively great atmosphere. For me the Frog & Parrot is the No1 pub in Sheffield. Keep up the good work.

We went as read some good reviews about the Sunday roast. We went and wasn't welcomed by any staff. I asked about food, they said they was doing food - however when we went to order they said there was no children's menu and several things off the main menu were not on there. We left and spent our money elsewhere.

A small, 330ml bottle of Heineken - £4.70!! Absolute rip off, there is making a profit and there is taking the Michael. The toilets are weird. As a male, I do not feel comfortable going about my private business in a cubicle with pictures of women's eyes all over the ceiling. It's creepy and perverted. I can get a full pint for £3.40 in my local pub, I will stick to there in future.

Rude obnoxious bar staff who can't complete simple tasks like asking if you want a glass and ice with a cider or getting a dog bowl with water on request. She'd much rather talk to her boyfriend at the end of the bar or complain with her work mates than actually doing her job

Good service and great range of drinks. Also an ideal place for after work drinks. Outdoor space a perfect place for sitting in the sun.

What a fab rock bar- great food, great beer great hospitality, found by accident but will definitely cone back for a full night out

The chef must have changed. Had nachos & burger. Both were very disappointing. The nachos were inedible. Terrible. Cheap & salty. No sour cream or cheese. Not at all what is described on the menu. At least they were gracious enough to give me my money back

It’s been years since I’ve last been in the Frog and Parrot. Now it’s part of the Greene King group. Booked a late lunch in the week with my other half. Table bookings require a deposit of £20, acceptable to avoid no shows. We got a small cosy booth to one side of the pub. Table service was nice. Menu is upto date with some interesting choices. I had the Katsu curry chicken burger my other half had steak and ale pie with chips. Both were excellent. Few pints of Greene King IPA also were consumed. Well kept too. Pub got busier in the afternoon as expected but is large enough to cope. Staff are efficient and polite. I’d say that I expected a better range of hand pulled beers on offer. But the selection of other lagers and such were plentiful. I’d give it a solid 9/10 for a long lunchtime. Well done.

Came in tonight had some amazing fish and chips the fish was huge and it was also very well presented the cheese toasty and batterd hallumi my friend had looked scrumptious and was a huge portion we was served by the lovely staff Lucy and Paul very welcoming lovely smiles great staff all round a great evening defo be back soon

We had an excellent meal, the food was wonderful, hot and very tasty. The server was attentive and very pleasant, a credit to the pub. Very often people only review when they’ve not enjoyed it but don’t review when they have. Will return.

My husband and I come to the Frog quite a lot. We just love it. The staff are all really amazing. The food and drink is good quality and reasonably priced. The mood of the place is warm and welcoming. As a pair of scousers, we particularly love all the Sheffield music decor. Went for our first roast there today and it was banging. Honestly, this is just a lovely pub. I know it’s part of the Greens King franchise but it genuinely feels like a cool eclectic indie pub. We love it. Dog friendly too.

Came in on Thursday evening as part of our office Christmas party and had a great time. The music and atmosphere was spot on and was above expectations to say it was a weekday. As there was a few of us we did book ahead to let them know and the girl called Chloe who was behind the bar couldn’t do enough for us and was very friendly. There was a great selection of beers and spirits available to cater to everyone in our group so there was something to everyone’s liking which is quite hard to find sometimes when you are in a big group. If you are looking for somewhere for an office get together or party in Sheffield city centre I would definitely recommend the Frog and Parrot!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the tremendous effort of all staff members who work here to make my visit comfortable, enjoyable and ‘Rona safe! With the ever changing, ambiguous government rules, I can imagine it must be incredibly daunting having be out their in the midst of it all, trying to do the right thing by yourself, your colleagues and the wider population! Especially with the surprising number of ‘people’ that think they are either above the law or just downright stupid. This place is great, quirky and very clean. The host, staff and management were excellent. Prior to new guidlines, i was able to meet a colleague from work in a COVID secure way whilst having we both had a very nice meal. They cater for vegan and the new vegan burger is 5*. I felt safe and comfortable whilst there and everything was explained in a clear and kind way. They have adapted well to using new digital ways of ordering and support whilst encouraging people coming in to download the app. Table service is fantastic and food is spot on. Well adapted to the strange times we're in and doing great at this! Thank you!

I visited frog and parrot with my friends last month and it was absolutely lovely. Will definitely be coming back. I had the cheese and bacon burger which was spot on. Everyone else loved their food too. The atmosphere was buzzing and had on great music. All staff I came into contact with were really friendly and helpful. Nuestro grupo de 4 visitó el 19 de septiembre sin haber reservado; Se encontró una mesa para nosotros, se nos habló a través de la aplicación y se nos pidió que nos registramos en línea. Estaba ocupado, pero el personal estaba monitoreando para asegurarse de que todos entendieran los procedimientos y tuvieran todo lo que necesitaban para evitar que tuvieran que deambular. La aplicación fue fácil de configurar, pero una vez hecha, fue fácil de usar y el servicio de mesa fue rápido. Nos dieron una advertencia de media hora cuando teníamos que irnos e incluso entonces nos acomodaron afuera mientras terminábamos nuestras bebidas. Las mesas que usamos se limpiaron a fondo, había desinfectante de manos disponible en todas partes y un sistema unidireccional en su lugar. Enhorabuena, Frog & Parrot: en circunstancias muy difíciles, nos hizo sentir seguros y bienvenidos y, como resultado, nos quedamos toda la tarde.

Unos años desde que visité la rana y el loro hasta hace días, no me di cuenta ahora de Greene King. Reservamos una mesa para cuatro personas, un saludo agradable y un pub, todos trabajando según las reglas de Covid 19. Comida que pedimos comidas Pollo, lasaña y hamburguesas, todo cocinado excelente y muy sabroso regado con una selección de bebidas. Oferta de F&P al gobierno de lunes a miércoles con precios reducidos. Le recomendaría que reserve una mesa y acepte esta oferta. Volveremos a llamar a precios reducidos y completos.

A great few hours spent in the Frog and Parrot almost 30 years after my first visit. My companion and I were made so welcome, went back twice during the day and almost stayed until closing. A very friendly establishment as it was back in the day, I think still worth a visit. Bar staff are absolutely fantastically friendly..... otherwise we would not have stayed so long. A great visit.
