Tiger Works Bar in Sheffield

My mate was drunk and had went missing for a while after he went to the toilet, and the queue for the toilet was about 20 minutes long, so I asked the bouncer if he could check on the male cubicle to see if he was alright, but the bouncer was very rude to me, then shrugged his shoulders and walked off. Knocking would have taken five seconds to see if he was in there, there was no need to treat me like that when I was just worried about my mate.

Security staff here are completely ineffective, I reported a man harassing my friends and I to 3 different bouncers - to which nothing happened? Unsafe - especially for uni students, please don’t go here. So

This venue has a bad reputation for good reason. The management of this venue is not professional. Management are awful here. They don't let people in if they're not in groups, and if they are in a group, the lads slowly get kicked out 1 by 1 for petty reasons. Any attempt to be reasonable is automatically refused. As for the girls that remain inside finishing their drinks? Management starts flirting and creeping on them when the lads aren't in there to look out for them. I've never seen management do this before, but they do it here apparently. If that wasn't bad enough, if the group doesn't have lads, then the girls who are inside aren't protected at all. They're treated terribly by many men inside. The hours are good and the popularity is good, it's always packed. But the floor is often wet, toilets aren't great, staff and bouncers are hit or miss. You're better off going elsewhere or finishing off your night at someone's house.

Had so much fun, great music and great atmosphere - staff were also lovely, would definitely recommend!

Had a fantastic afternoon at the Rhianna bottomless brunch, we had a table for 4 with endless drinks and snacks, a special thankyou to Rees, Charlie & Elliott for the brilliant service we recieved.

Celebrated my birthday here had the best time want to thank Charlie Reece and Riley especially they were always so happy and gave the best hospitality would definitely recommend

A horrendously insecure place to go and more horrendous to even write reviews for. Last night I was there. As I entered, I was not asked for an ID. After a while, I exited the place. But when I wanted to re-enter I was asked for an ID. I said I was in there a few minutes ago, but the security denied my access to the place. I talked to the manager and she said I had to apologise to the security guy to gain entry. I asked what I should apologise for and she said I have sworn at the guy (which I absolutely believe) I didn’t. Then I went back to the guy and asked him when and how I cursed him. He started kicking off with a barrage of F-words and even pushed me. I thought bouncers are there to provide a place with security and not to cause problems themselves. Had they wanted my ID, I could have gone back to my place and shown them my ID. But they just wanted me to apologise to them for the word that I had not uttered. And apart from that, the manager was even trying to kindle the anger of the security guy instead of calming the situation down. The security guy was on about saying to me all the F-words he had learnt in his entire life. This place ruined my whole night and the experience of a joyful evening. I have taken footage of this guy and will share it soon for the people to the truth of my claim. This guys thinks because he is of a more stout stature he can push people around. A absolutely rude wet blanket to your lovely nights.

Passing sober traveling in from London. Sent away as alone don't try enter alone as they have a not customer focused policy which is in place by gm to protect the venue as a pose the priority of the customer. Not in my eyes professional from such a established company. Who has clearly got the security in place to do there job if there were to be called upon. Not a trouble causer but I understand there is people out there but if alone no chance entry.

ABSOLUTELY AWFUL! Came to this establishment expecting a CREAMY DELICIOUS pint of Guinness, but no! What they gave me could not be considered Guinness. They poured a TIN of Guinness into a glass under the bar. But not only that! They then proceeded to top my drink up with WATER!! As an Irish person I am extremely offended. This is an attack against my culture. Will not be returning.

Booked here for bottomless cocktails and snacky bits. Honestly best brunch I’ve been too for a while. We really enjoyed the fact that you didn’t have to have a meal and it was things such as sweets and crisps which are up my street. You could pick from a mixer and a shot of alcohol or a cocktail menu. All cocktails were freshly made and our server was welcoming and friendly. She was very good and we paid her a tip for her service. Atmosphere wasn’t booming as it was 4pm on a Saturday but the music was amazing and would have stayed after for drinks if it was a little later. Would highly recommend and will be booking again!!

Would not bother. Power hungry bouncers who will approach you despite causing no trouble at all. A ridiculous dress code which states ‘no adidas gazelles’ so basically anyone who’s wearing any other brand of adidas is ok but because someone’s trainers say one word they’re not ok. Absolutely crap music felt like I was in a tribe. On the whole, discgrace of a place with bouncers who accuse you of racism dispute going nowhere near the bouncers all night, only speaking to the young girls they’re trying to groom. Utter rubbish, wouldn’t bother.

If you’re a girl, you have no chance of being safe around the bouncers. They don’t care about your safety at all, and will ban you from entering and lie about you being rude. I have been coming to Tigerworks for two years now. In October, I have had a situation happen with someone I knew, therefore we politely left the venue to talk it out outside of Tigerworks. On the exit, the person was told they can’t take their drink out, I told them to put their drink away. The bouncer decided to tell me that I am barred for life. Fine whatever, barred for no reason but ok. Ever since, I’ve been in a few times, however few days ago I have been declined entry as my ID has been scanned with a local alert that I am barred. I’ve read my note to find out I REFUSED TO PUT MY DRINK DOWN, and the story was completely turned around to what happened. I didn’t even have a drink at Tigerworks during the time I was there. I got declined an entry so I left without a fuss. I’ve messaged Tigerworks on instagram who have BARRED ME FOR LIFE for standing up for myself when I tried to explain that the bouncers should take care of the people who are drugged up causing real problems in their venue rather than ban people and lie about what happened. Tigerworks responded that they CCTV footage is deleted after 31 days and they’re gonna have to talk to the bouncer who said I was rude to him. I’m sorry but me trying to cooperate and saying ‘thank you have a good night’ is NOT RUDE at all. Tried to explain that I also work in hospitality and bars and I understand how rude people can be therefore it would never be me who was rude, but they told me I’m doing myself injustice and now I’m barred indefinitely for STANDING UP FOR MYSELF in a respectful manner.

The prices here are decent but minimum £5 card payment which is hard to add up to. The music is very very basic with some random mixes but you might enjoy it if you are below 20 yrs old. Although its the only place thats ever really busy so can be the only option. It always smells of sick without exceptions and the dj womt listen to song requests but if you are wasted enough before you go in youll still have a decent time

I think his name was Reese, but he was super lovely! I spoke to him in sign language and he was able to talk back to me and accomodate me, it was the first bar in almost 2 years I was able to communicate with someone in! So so lovely thank you so much to him!! Mo <3

I was sober I went toilet and got kicked out to walking upstairs . They don’t care about anyone but themselves and they took it out on people who did nothing wrong. Absolutely disgusting behaviour from the bouncers. Whichever bouncer worked 9th Sep needs to be fired and reported to the police. On one occasion he was screaming at a young girl saying things like “you’re going to die alone” - like what? He was extremely unhelpful and rude to another group of young people that had lost their friend. This type of behaviour paired with the vibe of the establishment is genuinely rancid and worrying. The owner should be aware of who they’re employing and the harm they’re causing to vulnerable young people. Don’t go here.

the bouncers working on the night of Saturday 9th of September were awful, the safety of the people at the club especially the younger people who attended that night was next to none. they hurled abuse at one girl claiming that she would "die alone" they didn't seem intent on de-escalating whatever situation happened and instead of doing their job of keeping a calm and safe environment proceeded to verbally assault a young girl, no matter what the issue at hand was, it is never necessary to tell someone to "kill themselves"/"they will die alone", another time in the same night the bouncers refused to help a group of girls looking for their friend in the club to take her home as the missing friend had no key to get back into the flats and they obviously didn't want to leave her on her own - seemingly not trained at all on how to keep young girls safe on a night out or do their job of resolving issues, enhancing safety and being approachable

They didn't let Asians in. I'm an adult, and I show my ID. They told me that I couldn't go in because I didn't have any friends in it. It was really ridiculous. That's just discrimination, right?

Really good night out nice that it opens so late. Not impressed with the security, I was worried a girl had been spiked (turns out she had to much) so got her out the back door to make sure she was okay the security was more interested in having a go at me for opening the door then making sure she was okay even after trying to tell him, I'm pretty sure he said he didn't care.

Barman did not follow correct etiquette when serving customers. Was very rude and used foul language. If I could recommend a club in Sheffield it would be far from Tigerworks as it is quite possibly the most disgusting, foul place I have ever entered. I used to love this club but after tonight and the way I’ve been spoken to and addressed is not okay, after being spiked here aswell. I do hope that the management of the club reconsider their staff, as I do appreciate their working hours but that is no excuse for basic customer service to be disallowed. Honestly my heart goes out to the staff having to work such hours but honestly this is not a bitter review it’s just basic constructive criticism. All people working here are over 18 so they should know basic manners.

Cracking night and cheap drinks (wednesday)

Went for bottomless drinks - the music was good & the price is reasonable. Hannah was lovely and could tell she was pulling the weight for the rest of the team, who were ignorant, stood around talking and because of this we only managed to get a few drinks throughout our visit.

I would just like to say the lady who took our drink orders went above and beyound at our brunch would highly reccomend.

they have banned us because they called us ‘racist’ and banned us for having adhd and we said nothing at all. disgraceful.

Definitely recommend, however can be extremely busy on Friday/Saturdays where you are shoulder to shoulder with other people and is very cramped. However during the weekdays its a great night as it’s not as crowded with very reasonable drink prices

Love the place, great music and fairly cheap drinks... Only thing that lets it down is it's clients... Too many cocky "roadmen" and girls that think they are all that.

I don’t rate this place. Never going back again! This bar is always rammed, people push you about and spill drinks all down you and it attracts loads of spoilt brats who love to show off. Some drunk Asian girl threw up all down my top which was revolting! To top it off taxi drivers wanted to charge £70 back to Mexborough. Such a nightmare. This lad chose to go back to someone’s flat and left me stuck in Sheffield City Centre at 4 am with no way home

The toilet stairs are absolutely lethal, I don’t know how they have gotten away with it for so many years. In one night I witnessed 3 girls going flying down the stairs because they were too wet from drinks. Massive health and safety risk

Had a great time with my friends, but the guy threatening to kill me outside the toilets definitely lessened the experience. Other than that, decent club, smoking area is too small though.

i went tiger works with friends and one of the wasn’t allowed in because the bouncer said he had a drawstring on his trousers, he didn’t. when he proved that there was no drawstring he then said well it’s got an elastic waist so it’s against dress code. since when is having an elastic waist on some trousers against dress code? he refused to accept he was wrong and didn’t let our whole group of 8 in. he got overly aggressive threatening us that he would get more aggressive if we didn’t get out of the queue. he seemed to let all the girls in with elastic aged waists on their cargos, just not the boys. seems sexist to me.

I booked a cocktail making class for the 21st May for 12 people and We had the BEST time ever. The staff were so fabulous and easy to get along with. We even made up our own cocktails… penguin anyone 😂. We will definitely be back to do it all over again. Thanks everyone

security are overly aggressive and wrongly kick people out for no reason. they grabbed multiple people i was there with and dragged them out, not explaining why or what they had done to warrant it. it’s unprofessional and an abuse of power

used to enjoy it here. but the bouncers couldn’t be worse. reading other reviews it’s clear i’m not the only one who thinks this. unsure why they haven’t got new bouncers already. the ones at the moment who work there are rude and disrespectful and have refused entry to many of my friends before including not allowing one of us in because they had a handbag?? wouldn’t check the bag and even offered to leave it at the door and still no entry. have witnessed them being physically violent with customers who showed no threat to the bouncers so i’m unsure how they haven’t lost their jobs yet- quite sure this classes as assault?

Good music. 2 for 1 cocktails til 10pm. What more could you ask for.

Okay we tried to get into tiger works on a Friday night and they wouldn’t let us in because we had bubbles in our shoes. I swear I have never had this issue on a weekend and it’s definitely bull. I questioned the bouncers and they also said it was ridiculous. I’ve literally never encountered anything so weird. It’s fine tho cos we had a great night in west street live. Unlucky tiger works it was g great , shame cos it was always so fun. Ps. Thank you to the west street live bouncer, you were so nice.

I used to really enjoy coming here. I even recommended it to my coworkers on our staff do and we ended up coming here. The bouncers were verbally abusing other people, a man that clearly was vulnerable as he'd had a little too much but wasn't causing any problems, shouting at him calling him embarrassing and crowding round him. This man genuinely looked scared. This was all whilst we were outside in the smoking area, talking to our manager who was refused entry due to his attire and he was wearing smart casual, no trainers?? The bouncers were absolutely vile, talking about customers very loudly and very derogatory. It's a shame that bouncers have to ruin what is such a good bar, I love the cocktails, I love the atmosphere inside, I love the music but I absolutely refuse to come back here until I feel that it would be safe for me to do so. I would hate to be in the same position as that man I saw if I had a little too much to drink.

A group of 15 of us booked a Bottomless Without Brunch in September to celebrate a 50th. We upgraded to the cocktail option, which also included the original drink options. The staff were attentive, replenishing the snacks when asked and making sure we always had a drink. We didn't have to wait very long, despite it getting busy. The d.j played great music which added to the great atmosphere. Will book again!

The worst drinks and service, paid for the Long Island received something which literally tasted like a pure cola requested a refund or a different drink they took a drink back and never got anything back! Avoid the place.

i booked a table for 8 and they didn’t have me down as they messed up my booking. i wasn’t given a table or even chairs. when speaking to the manager he was rude and disrespectful. after writing an complaining he made it about himself rather than offering good customer service and trying to pass the blame onto me rather than apologising for messing up my booking. i’ve been told not to take a future booking for sticking up for myself. awful staff and disrespect men running this place. avoid at all costs :)

We booked a table for six and they decided to seat us at a little 4 person shelf at the back of the bar, we saw a free table and decided to sit there as it was empty and all our drinks didn’t fit on the other table, bouncer came and told us to move but we refused as we could fit at the one they gave us, the manager came over and when I was in the middle of a sentence he rolled his eyes and walked off! Very mature...... they also are constantly breaking government guidelines set in place for COVID, they are letting people wonder around freely from table to table, letting groups of up to 12 people sit around one table, and some tables are not socially distanced enough either. Wouldn’t recommend going there right now as they clearly don’t value their customers.

No way would I let my daughters drink there if that’s the carry on, pants bar, disgusted if that’s how my daughters got treated, your mum owns the bar, what else have you got?!?

So I’ve been into tiger works many times and I would say it’s a fun place to be. However, tonight I showed my ID to the bouncer and was halfway through the door when someone grabbed me and said I was too drunk. Turns out it was the bouncer that was nowhere near the door and nowhere near me that had said I was too drunk. I was very confused as I had only had about 3/4 pints before entering (barely feeling any alcohol by my standards) and was first to go in out of my friends into the bar. All of my mates had been drinking for many hours before me bare in mind. I was easily most sober out of our group. I got told I was too drunk so I simply asked what had led them to believe that and they couldn’t give me an answer. Trying to not be rude (seen as I work at a bar myself) I took myself out of the queue and asked the bouncer that was very far away from the door why I was too drunk. Once again he couldn’t give me an answer. After this, all of my friends that were A LOT more drunk than me got let in. Even one of my friends left because they didn’t think it was right that I wasn’t allowed in. I cannot help but feel there was genuinely no need for me to not get let in and that the bouncers were picking on me purely because they could. This isn’t the first time I’ve had issues with the bouncers even if I shouldn’t have. Quite simply I would recommend tiger works, however I would also like to suggest it would be a million times better with new bouncers that were genuine and honest, rather than picking on those they felt they simply could. I have noting against tiger works, however I am disappointed that they think their bouncers are doing a good job. I wouldn’t have written this review if it was my first or second time having an issue with the bouncers, but right now I’ve simply had enough as the bouncers are rude, inconsistent and simply try to show off their power rather than using it properly like they should be doing. I genuinely believe the bouncers abuse their power rather than using it for good. The bouncers at my work are far more consistent and much less judgemental. I didn’t want to have to write this review, however I feel there was no choice for me to do it as I feel I should warn others of incompetence of the bouncers
