Been here a few times and always like the food, service is good too. The set menus are good value and you can change a dish if you like. going back again soon.

It's surprising that a Chinese restaurant would fawn so much over foreigners, prawn chips are not that expensive, and the most basic thing of having prawn chips at every table regardless of Chinese or foreigners cannot be done. Pathetic. You do realise that most of the people who support your restaurant abroad are Chinese.

The female staff’s attitude was terrible and the food was very disappointed and feeling not clean. We will not choose to eat there again.

The paper-wrapped beef offal is pretty good, but the spicy hotpot and maocai are a bit pricey. Service is ok.

The food was good, but a female server with glasses had a very poor attitude. She almost threw the dishes at the customers and couldn't understand what we were saying. We were shocked and disappointed! We won't come back again!

Food was hot quick and tasty, decent size portions, beer was very cold, service attentive and we were in and out in less than an hour.

I ordered the sizzling beef fillet, which was very tender, so tender that one wonders if it is real beef :). The portions are quite generous. The restaurant is relatively large and located in China Town. We ordered boiled fish, but got boiled beef by mistake. We didn't return it, it tasted good and the portions were generous. 5% off cash

It's absolutely my favorite Chinese restaurant in China town with the traditional Chuancai dishes. The food is amazing and we also had BBQ there. I haven't tried any other Chinese restaurant can make such spicy and hot food in Newcastle. It's definitely worth a try if you are a spicy food lover.

Was here on the 24th as a walk in, was welcomed in with my table of 3 very quickly and seated. The menu was amazing, the mapo tofu was quoted by a member of my party as the best meal she's ever had! The waitress was very friendly and helpful, a real credit to the business. Next time we are in Newcastle this is a go to for sure

Stopped in for dinner with friends while visiting Newcastle and even though we didn't have a booking we were seated and served very quickly on a Saturday night. Waitress was lovely and the food was amazing, can highly recommend the sautéed tofu and the rice and veggie spring rolls were also delicious. Will definitely be back if we are in the area again. Thank you!

An excellent restaurant in the centre of Chinatown that provides a wide range of meal options. The food is prepared fresh and you can see the kitchens from the dining area. It is a pleasant atmosphere to have a meal in, not too crowded but still popular with locals who know where the best food is! Having returned multiple times I have always had a great dinner and experience.

This restaurant is in the Chinese quarter of Newcastle, England. It is not as crowded as some, giving a relaxed atmosphere. The staff were helpful. There is an extensive menu. I had a hotpot with tofu. The portion was large and the ingredients interesting. The price was reasonable.

A very good Chinese restaurant serving authentic Sichuan cuisine, located in the Chinatown of Newcastle city centre. Very friendly staff and the restaurant is very clean. Would really recommend the beef in chilli oil (Shui Zhu Niu Rou/ 水煮牛肉). The deep fried salt and pepper squid (椒盐鱿鱼) was also good. The only problem was with the rice, as they used normal rice, not typical sticky Japanese or Chinese rice. Also all portion size could be better for the price. Q parking is just opposite the restaurant. Would really recommend it if you like Sichuan 🌶 food. Nice ambience and must say again the friendliness of the staff was just amazing..!

We waited over 45 minutes for spring roll and soup starters. It wasn't even busy! Probably the 2 quickest starters on the menu. No update on how long food will be. When we asked what was going on, they gave an explanation that they had loads of takeaway checks. Unacceptable putting takeaway before dine in customers! When they saw we were about to leave, they brought out prawn crackers.......after 40 minutes! They didn't even offer a discount if we stayed. I'm sure the food is nice but we didnt have chance to try it...

The food is good but I think it’s a little bit expensive for what ya get potions sizes are small and most dishes are over £10 If I’m paying £6.50 for deep fried cabbage I at least want a full tub there wasn’t even have a tub iv getting a lot more for half the price. The chilli salt and pepper prawns are amazing the best I ever had but there wasn’t enough of them 6 prawns for 10.90 again I think you overcharging just a little or at least give me a few more prawns. The mix appetiser £13.90 by the way had no chicken wings as stated on menu but I’m there was a lot of ribs would of liked more seaweed. I really don’t mind paying extra for food if the foods good and plentiful the 2 times iv ordered there been some sort of problem I really don’t think il be back I don’t feel I got enough for my money

Manhua Cha serves THE best bubble tea. It’s impossible not to love their bubble tea.., put it this way, if you don’t absolutely fall in love with their bubble tea then you just haven’t got the right flavour combination yet. The have endless flavours, more than any I’ve visited in the U.K. (about five different bubble tea stores). My favourite is passion fruit iced tea with blueberry boba balls. Boba balls are little balls of juice, and when you suck them up into your mouth via the thick straws you get a burst of flavour as they pop in your mouth. It’s so ridiculously tasty. Most bubble tea stores only offer the traditional tapioca pearls and not the boba balls. They are missing out big time, Manhua Cha offers both. Although traditional, the tapioca pearls are texture that you need to get used to. Almost like hard balls of jelly. I’d recommend getting boba balls first if it’s your first time. The team of staff also are very nice and friendly, and if it’s your first time they will be more than willing to help you get a flavour right for you. You can have comforting hot tea drinks or iced refreshing tea drinks. It is essentially all tea but for example with the passion fruit tea, it doesn’t taste of tea... rather a fruit juice. I’m a huge fan, they deserve it, everything is on point and I love their comic book theme going on, very cool. Never had a bad experience, always great service and nothing compares to the delicious bubble tea they offer. I can’t wait to keep trying new flavours.

One of my favourite bubble tea places in the uk!! They never fail to disappoint. The tapioca pearls are cooked to perfection and taste nice. The boba itself is tasty with the perfect level of ice and sweetness(I’ve only tried the milk teas/coffee). I always look forward to get boba from here everytime I go to Eldon Square. The price isn’t expensive either. I must admit that the wait times are long but are worth it for the drinks!
