Food and service top rate. My first visit and such a busy day - home match and Grand National. We had been to New Tyne Theatre for matinee. It was really busy and everything was iwas soo good. Must go on a quiet day! Hapoy New Year to Burmese waiter who was amazing.

Went Thursday night what an amazing place food amazing worth every penny. The staff are so nice. Football was on and they came over for conversation. Didnt feel rushed to leave and let us stay for extq time. The Bao Buns i would eat all day and duck was so nice thank you when next back to Newcastle we will be back

Very good quality food and clean restaurant. Staff were very polite and very knowledgeable about allergies. Most dishes could be made gluten free too which is amazing if you have a need for that. Food was quick to come too even though we were a large party. Overall, I will definitely be going back.

Came for a family birthday celebration. We had the lunch menu which was rather bland and uninspiring. Service was great, they go the extra mile to make you feel welcome.

What a night! Can’t thank landmark enough. What a lovely experience it was for my family celebrating my grandads 80th birthday. The staff put a brilliant night on for us all. Its has been a few years since last visited Landmark but the welcome from Yen and staff it was like just last week so the food was superb started with soup then a platter for (6) excellent various selection plus they extra dish gluten free then for the 3rd course Duck & Pancakes then a 4 dishes to share plus a couple portions of chips everything was just perfect no rush ambiance and everything was perfectly clean toilets we all agreed it won’t leave it so long till our next visit Thank you once again to Yen and Staff for making my 70th Birthday a memorable celebration

The worst ever soup,it was like wallpaper paste, the rice was cold.luckily the food was warm enough..The service was not the best,but it was soooo noisy, you couldn't hear friends on the same table! Couldnt wait to leave because of the noise!!!t is the only chinese restaurant that charged £5 for prawn crackers !!!!! very expensive, won't be back.

Visited after game at St.James Park. Bar at front was very busy and noisy with after match crowd and this made for a noisy hectic ambience in restaurant. Service was patchy as was the food. Overall, very underwhelming experience and not one I will repeat.

Food was absolutely fabulous. We were a table of 3 and enjoyed peking spare ribs and mini vegetable spring rolls as starters… so tasty and just enough between us. For mains we had egg fried rice, soft noodles, chicken and black bean, lemon chicken, and garlic and salted chicken. It was very ‘clean’ tasting and really enjoyable. Would definitely return if back in the area ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars from us. Also, worth mentioning the staff were incredible attentive and pleasant

Great family run restaurant with staff who care and offer a 5 star service ! The best Oriental food in Newcastle and well worth a visit . Looking around it seemed that many customers were regulars which speaks volumes . I would certainly recommend it .

Have previously visited this great restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed it. We went based on very good reviews and the ability to cater for Coeliacs. Our visit this time was just as good. Went on a Thursday evening and the restaurant was very busy. Served very quickly and with a warm welcome. Wine is reasonably priced. I had the hot and sour soup was delicious and hot with a decent serving. This was followed by chicken curry which again was very tasty. Chicken was tender and the sauce was lovely. Will definitely revisit on our return Newcastle. Can highly recommend

Atmosphere was great but its expensive...we didn't have food as wasn't much choice

I was staying in Newcastle with some friends of mine and had arranged to visit this fine restaurant in Newcastle's Chinatown district and, needless to say, we are happy that we did. The food was excellent and you got plenty on your plate. The service was spot on and the atmosphere was pleasant and relaxed. A credit to Newcastle's Chinatown district.

A very special visit to celebrate our Mam, grandma and great grandma This was an emotional visit but exactly what we wanted. If my mam had been here she would’ve have loved it, especially service from the staff who were amazing.

The staff are exceptionally friendly and in my opinion this is the best restaurant in China town. Salt and pepper ribs I think are the best I have ever tasted. Everything else was top drawer. I’ll be back in a few weeks!

Visited Saturday evening 16th September, home match day so it was extremely busy. Nevertheless staff were amazing, so hardworking, attentive & courteous. Food and drinks flowed seamlessly . The restaurant is spotless clean, food is very good and staff are amazing. Well worth a visit, we will certainly return. Thank you

Delicious Chinese set menu meal!

Always love going here. The food is delicious, and we always get a warm welcome from Yen, and the service is spot on. It's definitely a place I would recommend.

My daughter is coeliac and it’s always a challenge finding anywhere for her to safely eat. She has eaten here twice without any ill-effects at all and she is very sensitive so the measures must be safe . Food is great, staff very friendly and nice restaurant surroundings.

Went for the first time on a Saturday night. We chose the £40 pp banquet. The food was very poor; the peking duck portion was barely warm and really small, the battered prawn starter still had the shell on inside the batter and the main dishes tasted average and were small portions. Not a good experience and not worth the money. We mentioned we were disappointed with the food but they weren’t really interested. Won’t be going back.

Out for a special birthday meal , didn't appear to expect us, didn't bother to check. Food was tasty although over salted and not hot, definitely less portion size per person compared to previous visits. Service was poor not impolite but time was taken up by another table that received the lion share of their time. Sat waiting sometime for the bill and then the card machine but ended up going to the bar on our way out to pay. Don't mind paying a considerable amount of money for exceptional food and service however this wasn't forthcoming. Not wanting to cause a scene we didn't ask for the service charge to be removed but with hindsight we should have. Such a shame as we've always recommended this restaurant

I am not quite sure how this restaurant is the highest rating restaurant in Stowel street. The food was absolutely awful. To start I ordered the hot and sour soup. The consistency of the soup can only be described as thick slime. If you threw it against a wall it wouldn’t slide down. The taste was not pleasant at all. Felt very very artificial. The king prawn with asparagus in a garlic sauce had no garlic taste at all. The prawns were ok, but the sauce may have been water. The Singapore noodles had parts with flavour and other parts where the flavour had clearly not been mixed in properly. All in all a very negative experience. This restaurant used to be one of our favourites, but unfortunately it has gone down hill dramatically. This is the second poor experience here and only reason why we returned was because of trip advisor, hence why I am writing this review to save other people’s money.

The food was excellent, we opted for the Pagoda banquet for 2, the service was spot on, friendly and chatty and very attentive.

We came her a couple of days ago to celebrate our 32nd wedding anniversary, Nice little trip up memory lane as we spent many of our courting days trying out all the restaurants on stowell street, although it’s changed so much now, and this restaurant didn’t even exist back then, we were so pleased to have the opportunity to try it out. Not lived in newcastle for over 32 years, we come back often still to visit family, so always said we would like to have a special meal in China town again one day, this occasion seemed appropriate. We were not disappointed, what a fabulous place, the manager was so lovely and friendly, nothing too much trouble, all the staff were very attentive and friendly too. But the food, absolutely amazing, we had the set menu for 2, and were stuffed, it was the best Chinese I do believe we have had!! Fantastic food, cooked to perfection. The layout of the restaurant is beautiful, not over crowded, really spacious and clean too. Would highly recommend th is place and will definitely be coming back

This is a wonderful place to eat. All the staff are really friendly. I have visited a couple of times now and although it is always super busy, the staff always make time for you and will greet you with a smile. The food is prepared fresh and is hot, and quite quickly in my opinion. The prices are also reasonably priced for a sit-down Chinese restaurant as well. Would recommend to eat here.

The location is great cos it’s in the city centre. Clean and clearly has a lot of patronage. However, I didn’t really enjoy the food. I ordered a house special fried rice and it was a bit dry with no sauce. The staff are great but need to pay more attention to customer. The prices are affordable so overall it’s a good place.

I knew it was going to be a disappointment, when I noticed no Chinese people eating here. For £85 we got 2 drinks and a "set meal" that would have been less than £20 at our local takeaway. The food was ok at best, a quarter duck, around 8 prawns and a small portion of a chicken and a beef dish... Save your money, go elsewhere!

Visited this restaurant a handful of times and it is officially my go-to chinese restaurant in town. The food is brilliant, the staff are amazing and very hospitable. A good (but maybe bad thing) is that I cannot pick out my specific favourite part about my experience being here - everything is just superb and have made some fantastic memories just from being here. Always waiting for the next time I visit this restaurant again!

We absolutely love this restaurant!! The food is always first rate, as is the service and setting. The owners run the restaurant and are genuinely lovely people - the bloke is Chinese Geordie and really funny, he has good banter, and along with all of the staff, make you feel very welcome and looked after. We wouldn’t go anywhere else on Stowell Street, and to be honest, we don’t even bother with other cuisines for our meal out when kid-free, we just go to Landmark every time. 10/10, fantastic, our favourite.
