This was a great place for a casual solo meal whilst visiting the local area. Staff were lovely, made me feel welcome and were attentive and the food was excellent!

Great steak dinner, everything seasoned and cooked exceptionally well. Having just walked in we were really impressed with the venue and cookery. Friendly staff too.

Table booked for 7.15pm. Drinks came at 7.40 after chasing the server twice Starters arrived 7.50 mussels were very nice. Mains arrived 8.55...burnt brussel sprouts, carrots had grit on them, red cabbage was like eating a stick of cinnamon, roast potatoes were old and mushy cauliflower cheese. Only edible part was the Turkey and Yorkshire. Desserts arrived 9.30pm...lumpy brandy sauce, gross. Table of 6, all pre-ordered. Shocking service and food abismal..will not return

I had the catch of the day (lemon sole) and my hubby had a steak. Both meals cooked to perfection. Service was good. The sponge pudding was melt in the mouth and the cheesecake was very nice. They even put a candle on hubby's pudding for his birthday. It's not a cheap restaurant, nor do I think its overpriced. We also picked up a couple of bottles of moonshine to take away. We would return when next in Cornwall.

I have lived near Perranporth (GOONHAVERN) all my life and I adore the wateringhole but £7.50 for a pint of rattler is ATROCIOUS, considering Healey's is legitimately less than 3 miles away. Gylly beach cafe charges £5 for a pint of Rattler and they're nearly 10 miles away, It's sad. Get on Pard card cause you're killing the local business off, it's a shame because I've got very vivid memories of getting hot chocolate for cheap and seeing plenty of people I knew but now it's different. I understand times change and people move and catering to different people but in this economy it'd be nice if you looked after us locals a bit more.

Great welcome and some amazing fish overlooking the harbour. Some delectable wines and amazing Cornish Gin. The grilled scallops simply the best and the Newlyn Crab quite perfect. Do not forget the desserts-the Fig Tart with Rum Raisins tasted out of this world just beaten into second place by the Pavlova. The staff really cared and with a small number of covers allowed for really effective delivery of fresh and well cooked food delivered to the table with perfect timing. Argoe deserves to star in Penryn.

The food was faultless, the Lamb was beautifully cooked and the Cheese board was delicious. The house Wine was very good. The service and ambience were average. Very Little atmosphere in the restaurant and the music amongst others was Michael Jackson and Fat boy slim. Not the playlist I would expect at a refined restaurant. The lighting was very bright with ceiling lights and we had to ask for our candle to be lit. The staff were very pleasant however a few bad habits: Not asking who would like to taste the wine, I usually do this but it was handed straight to my partner. Crossing / reaching over us as opposed to walking round, taking our order whilst we were literally eating our breads and taking my plate away without asking whilst my partner was still eating. That may all sound trivial but it’s basic stuff which should be executed well. Overall, great value & amazing food.
