Really Happy Chicken 100% Vegan in Brighton and Hove

New recipe is pretty good. I preferred it to the old one as pulls apart better and isn't too chewey, but my friend didn't as it's softer (but would still get again).

Have been here about 8 times now. Never disappoints. Absolutely love the wings with Korean sticky sauce.

Went here today with my partner and I can honestly say it's the best vegan fried chicken I've had, in 2 years of being vegan. Flavour, texture... gorgeous. Especially good with the mac n cheese.

So so so crunchy and crispy! I ordered mac n cheese with kentucky chicken and then some more kentucky chicken afterwards hehe. I couldn't get enough of it. Ironically enough, I describe myself as a vegan meat eater. I mostly eat fake meat (I will work on this when I am no longer depressed), and I have been vegan for 2 years so trust me when I say that I've had a LOT. And this is easily the best vegan chicken I have ever had. My partner and I were both extremely pleased and shocked. They ordered a large mac n cheese with buffalo chicken and had a chicken burger afterwards too. We also ordered cheesecake to take back with us! Currently in the biggest food coma 🦋🦋🦋

Why you changed something what was really delicious to worse. We were Very disappointed after visiting last night…. Buffalo sauce is too spicy and too citrusy. The wings were a bit dry and not tasty at all… You took off the best thing off the menu which was sweet chilli wrap. Loaded chips are misunderstanding because chips were soggy… SEITAN was much better in taste than dry tofu… We use to come here frequently but not anymore because we don’t like your new recipes sorry.

I can handle spice but the buffalo Mac and cheese was so intensely spicy, I couldn't finish it, felt sick after, and threw up a bit in my mouth. I still have stomach pain more than 24h later. My boyfriend also had the burger and stomach ache after. Avoid.

I tried the new tofu recipe and unfortunately not my cup of tea, I really loved the seitan one. The sauce was different as well and the prices are getting higher whereas the portions smaller

Based on a single visit, this review should be four stars, for the food and the (off-peak) efficiency of service-delivery - but unfortunately it's all cancelled out by the fact that they have committed the crime (yes, crime) of "going cashless". Refusing cash payments is discriminatory - on a personal level, discriminating against the homeless and others at odds with the banking system, but also discriminatory full-stop. The only reason for them demand electronic payment is in order to obtain, retain and relay customer data to which they are point-blank not entitled - which is an act of war. The role of any SP (service provider) is to provide a utilitarian service - it is not their role to make decisions. It is immoral for SPs to either attempt to choose whom they serve or to demand to know anything about those whom they serve, because, whoever they may be, the SP, as hoarders of matter, they are in a morally compromised position to begin with. We, the rest of the world, individually own them - it's called "society"!.

Amazing food, just like kfc but better, all vegan, loved it

It was great to find a 100 percent vegan restaurant with vegan ethical messages on walls. My son enjoyed the crispy food, I think it's probably a bit like a vegan version of KFC. The young man serving us was outreached by my 9 year old son who asked him if he is vegan, but the man said he loves cheese too much to go vegan and doesn't like flavour of vegan cheese, so my son asked him 'why don't you quit cheese then as the calves are killed after being taken from mummy'. It was a bit empty this time. Normally you want to see lots of vegans feeling happy to support a vegan outlet. I don't even like the taste of chicken or meat..or dairy or its substitutes, I prefer the taste of vegetables but I only went to support a vegan brand. Wish more people come in and give it a go, especially non vegans. Why harm chicken or cows when you can Go Vegan?

Google maps showed as open until 10pm so we walked half a mile, arrived at 9:25, and while it very much appeared open we were told it was closed when we went to the counter to order.

Unfortunately the chicken burger and wings had no flavour. Part of the bun was hard and stale on both our burgers and it’s nothing like it used to be. Very disappointing especially as it’s so expensive. Burgers look and taste completely different to what they were like last year, the chicken in the burger was very flat and tasteless.

The first time I came in to eat in another customer vomited all over the floor , the staff were lovely and did give me free cake to take away but I didn’t feel like eating anything after that, not their fault at all and they were fantastic. Went in for lunch takeaway used the loos and sorry but the stairs down and the loo are very dirty, the kitchen looked dirty and unorganised so a guy shut the door. No problem I’ve washed my hands you do amazing food so I had my lovely lunch. Few hours later I’m vomiting I’ve only had this and my toast at work. Please sort out the hygiene and grubby areas as this could be an amazing place to eat, at the moment it’s not.

After being veggie for nearly a year, me and my partner still find we crave fast food chicken and this place was perfect! My partner had the big burger and said it had the best vegan bacon he’s had and I had the simple burger but both were perfect! We were both super impressed and the server gave us a MASSIVE free slice of cake and offered us water. Short wait and brilliant food. Will be coming here again.

I have eaten here a few times at the old location and its always been amazing. The first time I ordered at the newer location I had been talking it up to my none vegan friend... I ordered via the website over £50.00s worth. I called up to ask how long and was told 30mins so I tried finding place to park and went in the get my food within the time specified only to be told that my large order had been handed to somone else.... this meant i had to weight another 40 minutes for the food. Now i can understand this happens but i had a type 1 diabetic 4 year child in the car waiting for the food and my friends had his 7 year old daughter qslo waiting to eat. Not only was it a stressfull situation but the food was rushed and horrible rushed. All we were given was a free peice of cake. Put me off completely and a real let down. I have only got round to writting this but this was in october last year 2021.

I eat vegan most times we go to restaurants, so having an entirely vegan fast food restaurant was a treat. We ordered the wings and Mac and cheese, and both were very tasty. The texture and taste of the wings especially was perfect. Would definitely recommend.

Honestly not sure how this place has such a high rating. The food is really bland and poorly made, and has made me ill twice. Go to bok shop, halo burger or burger, please. The food from them is all amazing compared to here.

Waited 40 minutes for food. No warning given it would take this long. Barely an apology - told restaurant was exceptionally busy despite there being only 4 other diners. Had to rush eating to catch my train. Food was good but not great. No toilets. Discovered afterwards looking at my receipt I'd been double charged on drink. Generally quite a high price for what you get. Yikes!

If you want delicious vegan fried chicken wings, this is your place bar none!

We were initially very excited about this vegan fast food restaurant. Credit to RHC, the portion size was excellent and good value for money in that respect. However, the staff didn't seem friendly or even bothered to check on how we were finding the food. Moreover, the food was quite sickly and got a bit boring after a while. Work needed on customer service.

It was food. Just. Chips like luke warm nails and a ‘chicken’ texture akin to what I can only imagine my toes would taste like if I fried them. Flavours were good tbf. Glad the chickens are happy, I’m just hungry and sad.

Great vegan food! The vegan sticky wings were amazingly good! The loo were not working so had to sneak to Waterstones across the road. Loved the rustic vibes but thought that the paper bag deco could be lower so we can admire them better... at the time we visited, the paperbags were behind the lampshade...

The first time I ordered from here I thought the food was absolutely amazing and now a year on I still think it’s amazing! My favs are l the macaroni cheeses and they’re so good, I love the “bacon” thats not bacon as it tasted just as good as the real thing but is 10xs healthier and the “chicken” that’s not chicken as that tastes exactly the same as real chicken used to taste. If your new to being vegan you definitely can’t go wrong ordering from here! (Also their cakes and brownies are really good too especially for a little treat yourself moment) ♥️♥️♥️

Please don't take this rating as a reflection of the food as we did not try anything. We were on holiday in Brighton this week and were really excited to try this place but inside was dark and dingy with delivery drivers loading orders into their bags right next to where the tables were. It seemed more a place for takeaway and deliveries rather than being bothered about sit in customers.

A couple of weeks ago made a journey from Eastbourne to Brighton to seek out this place. Went at about 3pm weekday with husband and son to eat in. Very unwelcoming staff. Didn't seem bothered to even greet or tell us about the menu. There was no atmosphere. Food was OK. I've had better versions of vegan fried seitan/chickn. Husband asked to use toilet told its being renovated. Then later I heard another customer ask another member of staff and they were allowed to use them! Seems like more bothered about the delivery side of the business then the customer service side. Dissappointed 😞 three stars just for being a vegan place. One star for customer service.

Ordered this "chicken" being told it tastes and feels like chicken but god it was awful. The "chicken" was rubbery and had sausage consistency. The only reason I'm giving two stars is because the tater tots and chips were amazing. I will not be ordering again. I hope to god I got a bad batch because it tasted like I was biting into a rubber sausage roll 🤮

why would anyone eat meat when vegan food tastes this good?

This placed convinced me I like seitan ... The menu offered a variety of options from "wings" to wraps and all sorts of tasty sides. It was more pricey than a high street lunch place but definitely worth it, really good quality food. 4 stars because they only did take away despite being the end of July and them having what looked like plenty of space to sit indoors.

Me and a friend ordered the Really Big and Sweet Deal of of Uber Eats and although there was a problem with the order (at no fault of Really Happy Chicken, it was Uber Eats who misprocessed the order), when I called up RHC about the order they were very friendly and helpful and explained the situation which allowed me to sort the problem out via Uber Eats. Furthermore the food was delicious and is pretty good value for money I'd say, so I would highly recommend this place to others, including non-vegans as I'd say the 'chicken' they make instore tastes better than actual chicken not to mention it being cruelty-free. It's a win-win!

Wings were good but a little over cooked. Korean sauce really spicy too spicy for lots of people. Chips and burger and garlic mayo were amazing. Would come again for the burger.

Delicious vegan mac and cheese! We also had the korean bbq wings which were tasty. Would be great to see some gluten free options too, but I know that seitan is used for all of the fried chicken.

Really nice vegan food, however most of it is seitan, which most people get bad reactions to due to the high amount of gluten. Would be great to see some gluten free options!

Went here last year in August. Ordered the tenders and the chicken burger which had hash brown and piled high with other bits and pieces. Super yummy and flavourful. Had a lotus biscoff milkshake which was mouthwatering too. Amazing food, ignore the other reviews here!

This was our second time coming here and the chicken patty in the burger was about a third of the size as it was the first time. Not worth the price they charge for a small average burger. Offered feedback about this and they weren’t interested so definitely won’t be going back!

Love that there’s a nice fake chicken spot. Employee with the fantastic Indonesian tattoo was really good at his job. Garlic Mayo very good- surprisingly given that so many people get it wrong. They sell green cola; plus the space is really well laid out. I recommend the place. Though, the wait time is longer than your standard fried chicken joint, but nobody’s perfect- so, 4/5

Delicious vegan fast food that in an ideal world would put KFC out of business. Not usually a fan of seitan-based faux meat, but this was a pleasant surprise - very tasty, big portions and great customer service.

This place is just outstanding the kids love it. And the food OMG amazeballs.

Tasty and crispy seitan, both patties and wraps are delicious! I have been ordering for months! But recently I was surprised that one of my favourite wraps changed, which is the sticky wrap. I miss the version with peanuts, moreover last time the bbq sauce seemed different. Hope to have the previous version back!

Don't listen to other reviews - Terrible tasting burger - bun overpowering. Chicken texture quite accurate and taste of patty okay but ultimately strange and both of us eating couldn't finish our meals (takeaway) and had to find something else to eat!

OMG! The Korean wings were AMAZING, the plain wings tasted like KFC and Portion sizes were massive. Whole happy family, burgers and wings for the boys and the baby ate half a tub of really tasty mac and 'cheese'. Great customer service too, they prioritised the kids chips and burger as they were getting a little Hangry! 😆 sorry I didn't get pictures before everyone dug in, so all the pics are half eaten!

Great place staffed by very friendly staff. The food was great and well priced and some of the best chips I've had in a very long time - crispy, not too oily and light. Big portion chips too!

I read all the great reviews and couldn't wait to get a burger. The burger with chips was not really a bargain (£12.90) but it's OK when the quality is great. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. Maybe it was because they are doing a renovation atm and their focus isn't on the food? I don't know... the staff was friendly, the package as well and it looked really delicious. But the taste was horrible! EVERYTHING tasted of vinegar. The meat, the sauce, even the bread was drowned in vinegar. Probably it was an accident, but that was my experience.

Customer service is on another level.. extremely friendly, welcoming and informative about everything on the menu. Making sure the food is good and everything is up to standard. The food is delicious, the burgers are enormous and cooked to perfection. I love vegan “junk food” and have just found one of my favourite places. Rest assured, I’ll be back. For anyone reading this and wondering whether to go, set your expectations high. This place will have no problem meeting them!! Cheers guys.

The level of customer service was gorgeous! Other restaurants need to take notes when training their stuff because it was genuinely unmatched from the v kind member of staff who served my friends and I today! Also, the food was super nice for my first Vegan experience, and she gave us free brownies, lovely scenes, we stan hard!

Really Sticky Wrap, was awesome! As were the wings! Hella pricey for dips £1! The really big burger does what it says on the tin! Mac Carbonara, needed more Carbonara.. was rather dry, needed more sauce! Over all! Definitely worth it for a midnight snack!

**update** been up all night vomiting and diarrhoea after eating here** Food arrived stone cold, congealed and nigh inedible. It does look like it could be tasty enough, IF ubereats could manage to a) deliver the food without messing about on the other side of town and b) stretch to buying themselves a heat bag. She dropped it off just in the paper bag after 25 mins so hardly surprising its cold. Cant fault the staff in the restaurant who were polite and friendly. Sam.
