The food in the restaurant is good. The chef clearly has talent and the service on the night we dined here was very professional - better than some restaurants in Brighton/Hove. We had a Groupon and the value with this offer was very good. You can't get away from the fact that this restaurant is in a hotel though and I feel the management could improve the experience if they want non residence to eat here. Firstly put table cloths on the table. Have some background music. Dim the lighting and cover over the fire door -just a net or curtain. The atmosphere in the restaurant does not make for a special occasion due to lack of the above. The food in taste and presentation is great. There is parking on site if you're lucky enough to get a space - but you can park opposite on the seafront. We drank in the bar first and if I went again I'd drink elsewhere first - purely because it is so obviously a hotel bar. Maybe background music; comfortable chairs; dimmer lighting - it just needs atmosphere as the staff were faultless

Used a Groupon voucher and had some lovely food. There was only us and one other couple on the mid week evening we visited. Such a shame as the food is great and the service professional. You can not mistake you are in a hotel and this may put people off as there is a slight lack of atmosphere although for a catch up with friends or a family gathering ( when allowed) this is a good venue. I wish this venue well as the food deserves more custom and even without a groupon the prices are fair as the portions are generous. The house red was good.

We went there with a couple of mates, it was two for one so a pretty good deal - the atmosphere was nice and the music not too loud but our friends found there was too much ice in their cocktails. The bit out the back is lovely and a great atmosphere to hang out with mates in! Only bad points is the ice and the very limited selection of tunes available to put on!

Food is fantastic with good quality of food (produce) and large portions served by great staff,though at moment due to coving no food service at night though we allow take away food outlets to deliver and we can give a loan of cutlery and crockery as for during day till 1pm a small sandwich menu available

Surprisingly good food for the atmosphere, you go inside and it feels like you are just about to have an experience similar to the first season of Gordon Ramsays kitchen nightmares. This is not the case. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the food good for the price range, my mate and I had a Groupon discount so things were super cheap. I would not recommend this place for a 'fine dinning' experience but if you just want a quick cheap meal that's pretty decent I'd recommend provided the discount.

A pleasant restaurant, good service and lovely food. Portion sizes are on the generous side. Chef is Italian and came out to chat which was nice. Parking on site is tight but plenty of street parking.

We had the most amazingly good 3 course quality meal. Interesting and well presented. Italian chef. Freshly prepared with very decent prices. And good size portions. This is now for sure my favourite restaurant

I visited the pub recently and had what started as a normal and relaxed experience. While ordering my drink, the beer barrel ran out just as my pint was nearly full. Out of curiosity — not to save money — I asked the barman if there was ever flexibility in cases like this. I was genuinely interested in how different pubs handle these situations, especially since some independent venues might agree to a fair adjustment. The barman explained they have fixed prices, which I fully accepted, and I paid for my drink in full without hesitation. Unfortunately, things escalated when another customer wrongly accused me of demanding a free drink and behaving entitled — which was completely untrue. I calmly tried to explain myself, but another person joined in, calling me insulting names. What shocked me most was that a staff member — who I was told is in charge of the rota and audits — not only failed to calm the situation but actually seemed to encourage the hostility. In an attempt to defuse the tension, I briefly mentioned that I have autism, hoping to provide some context for my communication style. Suddenly, the same staff member's attitude completely changed — but not in a good way. Instead of treating me with the same respect as any other customer, it felt as though she was now tailoring her behaviour around my condition, as if my autism had anything to do with what had happened. That made the situation feel even more patronising and uncomfortable. To make matters worse, it appeared this staff member had been drinking alcohol — I noticed her taking shots from the bartender during the afternoon. This raised serious concerns about professionalism, especially given her role in managing the rota and audits. I felt so unwelcome that I left without even finishing my drink. Frankly, I’m disgusted by how I was treated — not just by customers, but by a staff member who should know better. This wasn’t just poor customer service; it was a complete failure in handling a situation fairly and respectfully. I understand that pubs can get lively, but there’s no excuse for hostility, false accusations, and singling someone out based on a disability. I hope this was an isolated incident, but I felt it was important to share my experience honestly. Update (⭐): Management’s response sadly confirms the issue... The response from management only confirms the lack of professionalism I experienced. I was calm, paid in full, and expressed curiosity — not entitlement. The attempt to twist my words and bring up false history after I raised a concern is deeply disappointing and reveals more about their conduct than mine. This is why I won't be returning.

I was visiting Brighton with some close friends and my partner this past weekend, and was told to check out Bruha in Brighton so I knew I had to book it because where there is food from the homeland - I will go! What I didn't expect was how I felt during and after the meal. The minute you walk into Bruha; you get a sense of pride straight away and there were details that I picked up on that made me really think of Philippines. Then the food arrived...and I pretty much spent the entire meal listening to my fiance and my friends (all non-filipino) making sounds and singing praise for the food that Jay had prepared. Everything was perfect, not one dish faltered - (I had the chicken adobo and I was just in love from the first bite!). One of my favourite parts of the night was when my fiance ordered the Ube Leche Flan - I was too full and our friends had decided on drinks rather than dessert. But once the plate came out; a dessert for one became a dessert for three as our friends couldn't get over how delicious it was! The service was amazing from beginning to end, Tania (I think that was her name?) was very hospitable and Jay was really lovely to talk to. Having read about his story before we visited, I could see the pride that he takes in his business and the heart that he puts into his dishes. When we left the restaurant, I had a huge sense of Filipino pride in my heart and in my belly. We were still talking about the food the next day, and taking three non-filipino's to the restaurant who couldn't stop raving about the experience was amazing. This trip to Bruha really made me proud to be Half Filipino and I hope it continues to go from strength to strength. Salamat Po Jay! 🇵🇭

Wow very impressive b&b, feels deluxe!!! Gorgeous rooms and view, and free breakfast in your room!!! So nice I've booked it twice. Perfect location too. Definitely coming back. Lovely pub downstairs, will try the food later but menu looks ideal!!!! Wonderful staff.
