Raven's AIT Island in Kingston upon Thames

This was an incredible venue and location for my registry wedding and mendhi party. Yash was fantastic in helping us plan, set up and organise the day. Sulthana was great as the on site coordinator to make sure everything ran smoothly. Chef Gopal was helpful in planning the menu and providing wonderful food for the guests. We all had a lovely day, would definitely recommend the venue to others and can't thank the team enough.

We had our Sons Civil Wedding Ceremony followed by drink and food, the team at Revane Ait stating with Yash the event manager and Sultana the Operation manager and not forgetting Gopal the head chef were brilliant. They listened and catered for all our needs and helped make the day very special for our family. The event planning and organising was perfect and everything was co ordinated very well on the day, we all enjoyed the event and we thank Yash, Gopal and Sultana and their team for such a wonderful day for our event. Went for Sunday lunch today in Kingston. FREEZING cold room, which was like a canteen. No heaters on and other customers going out for fags, leaving the fire door open. Table next to us brought their dog which barked constantly. Kids asked for coke and got Diet Coke. Waited 20 mins for my glass of red to arrive. When I asked where it was, waiter said. Sorry? Was it Rosé? We asked for ice and they never brought any, with this, or the second round. Asked for my beef to be medium, it was p!ssing with blood, so had to be sent back. The beef arrived covered with salad leaves WTF? We had to move to another table to be next to the radiator we HAD TO ASK to be put on. No salt, no pepper. No offer of any condiments for us or the kids. Finally, despite there being a DRESS CODE on the site, the boy serving looked like he'd been walking through fields and was wearing a tatty pair of dirty trainers with a gaping hole in the top. Awful. I was expecting Basil and Manuel to turn up at any time. Happy Mother's Day! I would never eat there again. Despite being in the middle of the Thames, the room is awful. No effort has been made with it at all, the staff are friendly, but incompetent, it was freezing cold and the food was average at best.

We went over to see Father Christmas. It was really disappointing. Far from what was advertised . Tacky, cheap, a lack of Christmas spirit. Facilities were not clean. No Christmas music, no Christmas decorations. Father Christmas was a young lad with beard. So disappointing

I had booked tickets to visit the Wedding fair which was on Sunday 17th October 2021 11am -6pm. I had re-arranged work, as did my partner to attend. The earliest we could make it was 4pm. Two hours is plenty of time to visit a fair that will be fairly small (Venue isn't massive). We get there to catch the ferry over and see suppliers loading a boat and all leaving. Checked my ticket again and it definitely was advertised to finish at 6PM. Poor service. If it was changing times, everyone who had ordered a ticket should have been informed about the time change. Tried ringing and DM'ing on Instagram (as could see they were active and reposting stories) but no-one answered the phone or replied to my message. Very Disappointing.

We attended a wedding of good friends and although the venue is a nice location, the facilities and service was a let down. How can you run out of Rose wine mid-afternoon on a warm sunny day and only have one white and red wine option which were undrinkable? No Tonic Water, no Brandy, no Port... Cola from a gun tasting like a chemical... etc etc. Not good when this is a wedding venue. Apparently, the response to a complaint to the venue was shrugged off. The BBQ was good.

We came to one of their BBQ's this May. The staff were super friends and chef Danny made us great food. The weather didn't even stop us!

This is the second time we have used this venue for our annual roadshow. And both times the service has been excellent and they were very accommodating with last minute changes. The events manager Sasha was particularly helpful. Would highly recommend and use there venue for future events.

We had our wedding on Ravens Ait Island on Friday 6th September. We couldn’t have asked for a more unique venue for our big day! We knew we wanted something a little different and the island on the Thames was certainly that! Laura and her team were all so helpful on the run up to the day and were all on hand on the day itself too and made sure everything ran like clockwork. The marquee looked fantastic and the food was lovely too. We had the most perfect day that we will never forget. Thank you so much to the whole team at Ravens Ait for helping making it so special!

My husband and I chose Raven's Ait not only because of it's amazing setting (you're on an island in the middle of the Thames!!), but because of the exceptional manager extraordinaire, Laura. She was brilliant throughout the wedding planning - delivering the perfect chilled, party, BBQ atmosphere that we wanted. She took control on the day and made sure that everything ran smoothly - even remembering to run and give us a bottle of bubbles to toast each other as we had our speech! We had the Britannia Suite for the wedding itself, and then the Marquee and Lawns for the reception/breakfast. I really recommend Raven's ait to anyone considering a beautiful venue for their day, or even if they want to have a party. They even took care of our extensive vegans and veggies as part of the BBQ, and got us a brilliant Pizza Company in the evening for make your own Pizzas! Laura is an excellent planner and the staff at Raven's ait were awesome. THANK YOU! (I loved it so much...I didn't want to leave :-) )

I hired the lawn and marquee for a surprise 40th party. The lawn is the perfect place to be on a sunny afternoon, a unique and beautiful spot with plenty of space for children (and adults!) to run around. Laura was great to work with to get everything arranged, and her team did a great job on the day. Would definitely recommend for a private party with a difference.

Huge thanks to Laura and her team for all the help in organising and delivering a summer party/sports day/team building/bbq event for our company. Attention to detail was incredible, flexibility was amazing when the rain started and we were well looked after from the moment we got there to the moment we left. Many staff considered this the most successful company event in years and I think the Ravens Ait crew made that possible. Thank you.

Raven's Ait was a wonderful choice for our daughter and new son in law's wedding. The kids wanted a BBQ and fun! We started planning the wedding last year from Canada which was no easy feat! Laura was amazing from start to finish. Everything that the happy couple wanted was done and we were so lucky that the weather cooperated so that we could enjoy the wonderful outdoors. Thank you to all the staff at Raven's Ait you made the wedding so special.

We had our wedding here and had the most amazing day! We hired the Britannia Suite and it was beautiful. The staff are friendly and helpful. I would recommend this venue to anyone considering hiring here. I would return if I get married again (JOKE!!!).

We booked Raven's Ait for our daughter's wedding because her fiance comes from the Isle of Wight and they wanted an island wedding! From the moment we arrived everything was wonderful. After the ceremony we had drinks and canapes on the lawn and the staff were very attentive in serving drinks and food. When we sat down to eat once again service was good and the venue adapted to our somewhat erratic timetable. Laura and her staff are all lovely and served with smiles. Altogether the day was a day we will remember for the rest of our lives - for the right reasons. Thoroughly recommend the venue!

Do not use this venue if you ant live music. They have restrictions on the sound which hey didn’t tell us until after he event !!!!

We held our wedding at Raven's Ait Island in Sept 2018. We had booked our wedding 18 months in advance and we had help and consultations from the staff at every step of the process. Laura, the event co-ordinator was fantastic at every step of the process, we were able to organise meetings with her when we needed to and her response to our emails and questions were always swift and always helpful. We cannot thank Laura enough for helping things to run smoothly on the day. Raven's Ait staff on the day were brilliant, they did what they needed to without any disruption or fuss. The island itself is a fabulous location, situated in the middle of The Thames and is unique, with fantastic open lawn area which we were able to utilise and function rooms, that provide more than enough space to accommodate guests comfortably. Family and friends have commented on how much they loved the venue and the whole day. We cannot thank Laura and her team enough for making the day extra special.

We had our wedding on Raven’s Ait in June 2018 and have zero regrets about our venue choice! We just wish we could do it again and again and again. All the guests have commented on how much they loved the venue and how unique it was for a wedding. We booked a year and a half in advance and visited the Island several times. We always felt welcomed and enjoyed planning the wedding tremendously. The staff were extremely knowledgeable and helpful and meticulous in the details. It really was the most perfect day and we thank the staff on Raven’s Ait from the bottom of our hearts.

I just wanted to say we had the most fantastic evening on the island last night for The Greatest Showman viewing.

We held our annual fundraising ball for our school at Ravens Ait in mid march. It was the best venue for our Moulin Rouge themed ball. The atmosphere was incredible. We had the ball in the large marquee at the back and it was magical with all the fairy lights. The staff were so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We had 250+ guests and not one complaint about anything. (Except the snow!!!) The food was absolutely delicious and came out hot and on time - no mean feat! I have no hesitation in recommending this super venue for your special event.

We have enjoyed many afternoon teas, from 5 star hotels in London to obscure tea rooms in the countryside, but the afternoon tea we had last Sunday at Ravens Ait was near the top in terms of quality, and definitely the top in terms of value for money.

I went to Ravens Ait as a Mother's Day treat for my Mum. The marquee was gorgeous and we both agreed the food was far better than ones we have been to before at expensive hotels!

We all had a lovely time, it was very well organised, and all the staff were very helpful at all times. Plenty of tea and coffee, plenty of food that was really well presented and delicious. Tables looked lovely. The boat trip was a nice little bonus and was a little worried as we had a few older members and very young in our group but that was no problem and the boat guys were great with them. I would thoroughly recommend to anyone. Thankyou to you all for a lovely Mother’s Day!

We arranged a small post-wedding BBQ celebration for local friends/neighbours. The Raven's Ait team was great both in advising and helping prior to the event and on the day itself. The food, setting and relaxed atmosphere were really enjoyable. Despite having lived in the area for a number of years we'd never visited the island. We'll definitely be back and thoroughly recommend it for a celebration or just a fun day out with friends and family. Sean & Karen

I came to the beer festival which I was told was held every year.

I recently came for a beer festival in August and it was good fun. The location is great and service was fantastic. The outside lawn area was spacious and had a great atmosphere. Would definitely come back and recommend to anyone thinking of going.

Fabulous place to go when the sun is shining. I attended a wedding so I have no idea what their food is like, but the location is wonderful and the open lawn area is lovely. This was used for games at the wedding that I went to - wonderful use of the space. Though very weather dependent. My only but it the wine list. The mark up is exorbitant. £29 for a bottle of so-so NZ sauvignon blanc which retails at £7 is an awful lot. I know these places have to make money, but that seems like a lot to pay.

Everyone absolutely loved the day, they felt that the venue was so unique and we couldn’t have held the party at a better location, especially due to the amazing weather!

While this venue has the possibility of offering a memory to remember, it failed on so many levels.

I held my wedding reception on Raven's Ait in August 2016 and I cannot fault the team.

What a fantastic venue! We held our hospital ball here on 30 June and it simply couldn't have been improved upon. The staff were attentive, professional and efficient. Lucy was our main point of contact and when it was time for her shift to end, she came and found me to introduce me to Richard and give a smooth handover. The chef did an excellent job producing high quality food for 250 people. Of course the weather helped in such a stunning setting and Ravens Ait had added a few lawn games FOC for our entertainment. They have a unique sound system which our band had reservations about but this proved to be more than adequate on the night. I had last minute dietary requirements for some of the guests but they accommodated us without fuss. All in all a superb venue and charming staff. Thank you Ravens Ait!

What a lovely location for a relaxing Sunday afternoon. We went for the BBQ last year and came back again this year. The food is good quality and large portions, great value for money. Laura and her team are really helpful and friendly. Family friendly with games and table tennis dotted around the lawn for children. To top it off what better way to arrive on the island than by boat taxi. Book online or email to avoid disappointment as I have no doubt this hidden gem will become more and more popular. We will be going again for one of their cinema nights.

Had a great day on Sunday at Raven's Ait celebrating father's day. The venue was perfect for my rather large family; with a beautiful lawn surrounded by the Thames, along with plenty of outdoor games for the children. Other than a lack of shade, it was perfect. That said, no one expected the intense heat - it took everyone by surprise. I would definitely return.

Spent the day on the Island for a friend's wedding. Lovely location. I haven^t been to the Island for about 20 years. It looks fabulous now. The boat across is much more spacious and cleaner! Lovely.

We took our 7 year old granddaughter across spur of the moment we were going to the cafe on the river. 12.95 each for adults and 5.95 for children quite reasonable but....you only get 1 bbq item as a child or 3 adult items this seemed generous but my granddaughter (who is a bean pole not a piglet) ate her two chicken wings and I had to give her mine . So i had only 1 sausage and everything was cold...I'd rather wait and have it fresh hot from the bbq. The sides were not what I'd call child friendly and not home made...come on guys how hard is potato salad and coleslaw!! A jacket potato would have been great. For the location on a warm day lovely but not value for money. The staff however were all very nice. Even the ice cream is extra. Shame as it's a super idea....as they say on a school report ..could do better. Would I return or recommend, probably not there are nicer places along the river and as I say it's a shame as it's got the novelty factor.

Myself and my wife chose Ravens Ait as the venue for our sons first birthday/christening party. Right from the word go Laura Searle was attentive to our requests, welcoming and made the whole process extremely straight forward.

Back in April 2016 my Fiancé and I got engaged and quickly started thinking about where we wanted our big day to be held. We looked at a number of venues in the Surrey area but none came close to the lasting impression that was made on us when we visited Ravens Ait. The moment you step onto the small passenger boat and get taken across to the steps you instantly feel separated from busy Kingston life and start enjoying a life on a beautifully kept Island.

Planning lunch for a sunny Easter Sunday, we wanted somewhere with a pleasant view and came up with Raven's Ait. The website is under renovation, but I got a swift response to my email enquiry, confirming they would be open for Sunday lunch - and are through to May/June, when they switch to the outdoor BBQ.

We've been for an event before, but never Sunday lunch, which a number of friends have recommended. Given that we were later in the day - so missed the lunchtime rush, what lacked perhaps in terms of atmosphere (with very few punters) - was made up for by the setting, a great lunch and warm, attentive - without being overbearing - service. My son loved the indoor games and I think we could've spent the whole afternoon there! The staff are young and I think deserve a special mention as their service stood out against a number of places we'd typically visit. We'll be back again!

What an amazing venue, today I took my daughter and my mum for lunch, Laura Jamie and the team were fantastic , our food was on a different level, the staff make everyone so welcome, and even go that extra mile for children, I could not recommend ravens ait enough,

We really enjoyed Sunday lunch on Ravens Ait, an island just outside Kingston. So lovely and different to have to get a boat to a restaurant. Delicious food, great service, lovely view of all the boats going by and excellent value for money. I had crispy beef followed by corn fed chicken and my husband had duck followed by beef. All were well presented dishes, cooked to perfection.Unfortunately the portions were so generous we had no space for dessert. So I can' wait for our next visit- may even take our kids along next time.

Can't rate our Sunday afternoon lunch high enough, the staff where amazing, very attentive and the service was impeccable. Laura (corporate manger) was brilliant, my daughter is looking at venues for her sons christening and Laura was very imfomative and helpfull even though it was a busy Sunday lunch she was great such a lovely lady, as for the food it was delicious I had the smoked duck followed by the roast beef all I can say is DELICIOUS!! My daughter had the crispy chilly beef followed by the lamb also she said it was gorgeous, the portions are a good size too, atmosphere was very family friendly and being on an island gave it that special feel, will definitely be going back.

Came here with friends on a Groupon deal and were very impressed. No corners cut or any indication that we weren't full paying customers.

Unfortunately the wet weather didn't do the venue any favours. It certainly didn't look or feel like "London's most stunning wedding venue and corporate event location". We had a Groupon voucher for a two-course Sunday lunch, and decided to take their latest seating time of 4pm, but arrived early. We were nevertheless seated straight away, which was good. The starter was fine, though the "warm bread" that was to accompany the soup was not warm. The soup by the way was served in a cup, though it has to be said it was much tastier than your usual "cuppa soup". Maybe from the temperature of the bread we should have expected similar from the main course because we both had lamb and it should certainly not have been served as cool as it was. The beer at £4.50 a bottle was 355ml but the quantity was not advertised. We were seated in a draught. The waiter was a very courteous young man. Overall, it was value for the money we paid via Groupon. We didn't explore the venue thoroughly, there was a wedding reception taking place in another room. Maybe this is what you get if you buy through Groupon.

We really enjoyed it. The staff were all excellent and we appreciated that the chef was able to cater for our vegan and gluten free diet. We had a very pleasant 2 hours or so.

My partner and some friends went over to the Island for Sunday lunch last weekend and it was delicious! I had the beef and it was perfectly cooked and melted in the mouth. You also get a great selection of vegetables on the side to have as little or as much of as you like and proper gravy!!!

After getting the little boat over to the island, we had a warm welcome from the staff and was shown to our table in a large comfortable room. We enjoyed starters and a Sunday roast at very reasonable prices! We will definitely be returning 😀

Been twice and both times had a very pleasant day munching on burgers and sausages. There's lots of room to spread out and a great atmosphere.

I went with family to Raven's Ait Island for their Sunday lunch at the weekend. We are getting married on the island next year and absolutely love the venue. The food matched this amazing place and noone was disappointed. Although we hadn't picked up that there had been a small problem with our food coming out to the table we were immediately informed and offered a free drink. The food tasted great with a huge portion for the main course which left us all very happy and absolutely stuffed! The staff are very friendly and attentive. Very much recommend a trip to the island and we are even more excited to celebrate our wedding with the team on the island next year.

I won tickets to the recent Beer Festival, the island looks great and I'd be back again... But ciders and some rock music might add to it!

First time at the outdoor cinema and thought it was great! All the staff were so friendly and attentive, it was a really chilled atmosphere. Loved that the sweets were £1 a bag. I was expecting to have a moan about the prices of drinks and snacks, especially after the email saying we couldn't bring our own, but I was very pleasantly surprised :) Shame they only do it in August and Christmas as this would be great for the whole of the summer. Hoping to get to one of the BBQ's soon which I hear are also very good.

My partner and I attended the outdoor cinema screening of Star Wars last week.

My first visit on to Raven's Ait was to go to the open air cinema to see Mamma Mia. Me and the girls absolutely loved it!! From the moment we got on the ferry to the moment we left, we did not stop laughing. We had such a good night and the staff were brilliant too, which made it even better.

I attended the Star Wars screening of the outdoor cinema with my boyfriend and it was our first trip across the water to the island since moving very close by and walking past nearly every day and thinking how cool Raven's Ait looks and sounds and how much we wanted to visit.

We attended two of the Outdoor cinema events recently - Grease and The Big Short.

Perfect evening and location for outdoor cinema. A lovely waterside spot with great ambience and the secret disco headphones meant everyone could sing along without spoiling the film. The staff couldn't have been nicer.

So my friends and I had a brilliant time at the outdoor cinema watching deadpool!! The location was ace, brilliant beanbags, cosy blankets and fantastic noise cancelling, volume adjustable headsets! Food was wonderful, great facilities and the staff, OMG the staff!! There are a cracking bunch of people working there! Everyone was just lovely!! Great banter, very helpful and efficient! There was a barman constantly walking around so you didn't have to get up from your beanbag! Atmosphere was just excellent! I've been to the beer festival previously on the island and again it was a fantastic event! Very well organised, very reasonably priced, excellent facilities and the staff couldn't do enough for you!! 100% recommend going :-)

We came to watch Star Wars: The Force Awakens on the Island and it was a wonderful night.

We had a lovely time at the open air screening of Star Wars the Force Returns last night. It is such a beautiful location and staff were absolutely delightful! Seating was comfortable and it was very well set up. A real treat!

I had the most terrific 40th birthday celebration at Raven's Ait. Your staff were fantastic. The sun was shining and it was magical. It was a really beautiful spot. We will most definitely be back soon. Thank you! Amy

Raven's Ait is a unique venue - being one of the few inhabited islands on the Thames - it was for this reason we had our wedding reception there 21 years ago and we remember it with fondness and have always wanted to return. Not so easy as the ait principally handles private hire for weddings/parties/business functions and has been subject to financial/property wrangling between the local council and private companies/investors since then.

We had our summer staff do here and everyone had a great time. The staff were great, polite and helpful. It's a great venue and if you have nice weather you don't need much else. The food was ok. The shared games - table tennis, jenga and a giant connect four - were great fun and went down very well with everyone! A good DJ who kept everyone on the dance floor until midnight. It's difficult to please everyone when organising a works do but all I got back from this was positive feedback. So well done and we hope to come back soon.

The name tells you something. An ait or eyot is an island in the Thames, so Raven's Ait Island is tautological. The owners either don't know this, or assume that their customers won't. Either way, expectations are lowered - and rightly so. The mixed grill from the barbeque came with an inedible chop, the choice of drinks at the small bar was poor, there were no desserts until a helpful member of staff raided the freezer to find some ice creams; and we gave up waiting for coffee. A waste of a nice location.

I visited this island in the Thames with my family on a sunny June weekend. The island opens up to visitors on certain days and one can sit at tables on the lawn, watching the Thames flow by whilst enjoying drinks and food.

What a wonderful afternoon was spent on the island. Although a closeby resident for over 30 years last Sunday was the first time I set foot on Ravens Ait and it certainly won't be the last. Our seating was comfortable and stylish the atmosphere was great, the weather was beautiful. The food was very tasty indeed with a great salad bar, overall excellent value at just £12 per head.

We prebooked a table for 4 O'clock on a sunny Sunday afternoon and on arrival at the Island it was very busy outside. We bought some drinks and were shown to our table after a few minutes. The BBQ had been going since 12 o'clock so a lot of people had already eaten. I chose the minted lamb chops which were nice and accompanied this with potatoes, rice salad and green salad. It was such a lovely atmosphere being in the middle of the river with the pleasure boats going past. Looking forward to going again.

We had pre booked for 7 people and nothing sad prepared. Not such an issue as it was quickly resolved but the food was terrible . You had a choice of meat from the bbq but the sides were sadly lacking. At 4.30 they had no salad left a week while I was waiting to be told that the chicken that I had chosen was cooked to death. However the staff on the island were excellent so badly let down by the management.

This is the first time I've been to the Island. We went for a friends birthday for the first Sunday BBQ of the year. They are not every Sunday though so do check the website. For £12 adult and £5 for a child, you get a choice of something from the BBQ and whatever you like from the sides, which included couscous, pasta, potatoes, rice and salad. You get a massive plateful! The vegetarian option was halloumi and veg skewers. Very tasty. There is a bar to buy drinks and they also offer tea and coffee for free if you ask. There aren't many outside tables but you can book and there are also tables inside if the weather isn't so good. You can also take your own blankets if you want to sit on the grass. There is a free boat to take you over to the island. You just need to press the button to call it. They had a ping pong table inside and a giant connect 4 which they brought outside. The only thing I'd suggest is that they have more tables for outside and some umbrellas to offer some shade at the tables. You're very exposed and I got sunburnt! I'd definitely take a hat next time and some better sun cream. A really great place to have locally and I'll be back for another BBQ. I also want to try their Sunday roast during the winter, the open air cinema and I need to find someone getting married there so I can experience that!

We had a family Sunday lunch on the island that was the best meal I have had for a while. The whole meal was cooked perfectly. I can not recommend this place enough it is the perfect setting to relax and enjoy very good food. The staff are all helpful and friendly, we were taken care of very well. We are looking forward to their up coming BBQ events.

Stumbled upon this place whilst out with the Mrs and WOW.......... Why didn't I hear about this place before? Brilliant place with excellent level of customer service made memorable with a unique boat ride to this little gem!

For my parents 40th anniversary we decided to book a table at the island for Sunday lunch, our booking was pretty large with 9 adults and 5 children. Arriving at the island by boat was fun, my nieces and nephews found it very exciting. The staff and the island are very child friendly and efficient, the staff were quick to come and get our orders and get the food out which was lovely. They have a table tennis table that the kids can use and they didn't mind my nieces n nephew running around having fun outside after there dinners. The prices are very reasonable and I would highly recommend Raven's AIT island to everyone.

I organised a booking of 22 people on Raven's Ait for my wife's birthday. We were able to lounge in the sun and enjoy the riverside view while having some drinks before enjoying Sunday lunch on a beautiful sunny day. The staff on the island were very accommodating and gave us amazing service. A very special location for a special event!

The venue was amazing, it made it special getting the boat over. The staff were fantastic nothing was too much trouble.

Arriving to the island by boat was a very unique experience and the island had a very welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. The food was delicious and the staff were friendly and attentive. We got to sit outside in the sun and were catered to swiftly.

An amazing Sunday roast made even better sitting outside in the sunshine today! Looking forward to the barbecues starting again in a few weeks. Brilliant atmosphere, great service, amazing food and the kids love it.

The Sunday roast was one of the highlights of our holiday. The Ferryman and all the staff were welcoming and professional. The roast lunch was delicious, as good as my home cooked roasts! Well done to all concerned.

We decided to try this place out and we were not disappointed. Other than the obvious meat choices there was also a vegetarian option. I had lamb my OH had beef. When the plate first came out I thought the meal could have been bigger. I WAS WRONG. I had lunch at 1pm and did not eat for the rest of the day. The desserts were good as you could order 3 shots (from a choice of 4). When I say shots the desserts were in a small glass but bigger than a shot glass, which I though was great as sometimes choosing one dessert is a hard decision. Would I visit again? Yes.

We went here for Sunday lunch. The food was good and reasonably priced. It was the perfect spot to sit outside on a sunny day. Would definitely recommend!
