Rassam's Creamery in Wakefield

Decent food but waited an extra 20 minutes AFTER the food was meant to be ready. Went to collect when they said and it hadn’t even been put in the oven yet. Woman who served ignored me for 10 minutes and just served uber eats drives. The robot plays the same song every time it serves a table. Going to bed singing the song ‘making my way downtown’, annoying!!!

Been visiting for years. Such a wide selection of desserts to please everyone. My favourite is their cookie dough which is always served warm with generous toppings and sauce. The wakefield branch is spacious and even has a little robot that comes and brings your food which everyone loves to watch.

Would you please get someone to make the kunafe cookie dough right? There's no chocolate cookie dough and that's best bit. Not the first time this has happened, its the third.Quite pricey too at £12.99.

Service is usually ok but and we're in an out in under an hour. On the last occasion the restaurant was quiet but it took a long time for staff to seat us. I dropped off my party outside, parked in the nearby multistorey and walked to the restaurant and they were only just getting seated. We ordered on the tablet and waited but there were no staff. After a long wait I walked around the restaurant twice looking for staff but there were none so I and had to give the tablet order to someone in the kitchen. By this point new customers had been stood waiting to be seated for a long time. The long delays cost us extra for parking so next time we'll go for dessert next door at No Manches. Edit: Haven't been since the previous poor service but my children really wanted to go. The same guy again handed over the tablet and disappeared. We waited and waited then looked for him. Kitchen staff had to seat the new arrivals waiting by the door and I eventually handed over the tablet to them again. About 10 minutes went by and kitchen staff had to bring over the payment terminal. Eventually he re-emerged from a door behind the kitchen and seemed bemused new people were sat down and that I'd already ordered and paid.

The food is good, but the place could do with more staff rather than a robot 🤖. Service is very slow 🐌 and the staff that are there don't seem happy which doesn't give a good atmosphere.

Visited here yesterday - it was our first visit with our 3 year old granddaughter. Lovely place and only one other family in there. Waited a while before someone came to the counter and showed us to a seat. Given a tablet to order from and whilst we talked us through it, she could have taken the order and dealt with it herself in a fraction of the time. The service was painfully slow - we only ordered coffees and an ice cream! A nice place and great idea but honestly something needs to be done about the length of time it takes to serve people or it’ll be closing down

Ordered inside for takeaway: 1 Maple waffle, 1 Strawberry & banana Crepe & Brownie Bites. I went to the restaurant and placed my order at 7:45pm to take away. Firstly, others came after and ordered quite large orders and these were clearly given priority as numerous orders placed after mine were served first, even when ordered in a similar manner, without pre booking. Secondly, as I had waited and watched 3 other people order and then receive their food first, a server politely made me aware that there was now no more crepe batter (after I had seen a couple after I ordered order the same item and received it), this was unfortunate timing and as time was ticking on (8:20pm) I thought the alternative pancake option would be fine. After accepting this , the server again came to inform me that they now had no strawberries, this being an item i had ordered on two of the items. The server then kindly offered Raspberries instead, which I accepted and just wanted to be away with the food. Another 30 minutes passed with no update from the servers. it wasn't until 9pm when I received my order... The pancakes were cold and subpar, had a very artificial taste and the waffle, presumably sat around had become overly soggy & floppy from the maple syrup. The brownie bites and the fruit were the highlights. Might be a better experience in store...

The food is good (although not the dest description of them on the menu), but the service is terrible. Had to wait 15 minutes after being seated to even get the menu (we had to ask for if). Robot waiter is a nice gimmick that kids love but very noisy but also makes it near impossible to ask for anything like more napkins. Ladies' toilets were also terrible, with no paper and broken flushes. Not the best experience for the price

Really enjoy the food here. A very good selection of dessert 🧁 an awesome selection of ice creamS . Really liked the little robot but the music gets annoying after a little while. Maybe they need to mix it up. Service is good, a little quite on weekdays, busy in weekends.

45 minute wait for a sundae and 4 scoops of sorbet, to be told they were out of Ferrero Roche and would some nuts and choco sauce be ok. Isn't that already on the Sundae. We've been visiting Rassams for a few years now,always for a special occasion. Saturday night was so disappointing. What is usually a great experience was let down by basic service issues. I'm an experienced restaurant manager and was 1st impressed by a robot server cruising around. With a robot server and the neon and waffle aromas, these visits are set up to to be home run! I watched the person making my deserts push our sorbets around as they continued to put other orders in front of our order. When the manager arrived to tell us they were out of Ferrero Roche. The kitchen staff knew they didn't have any but didn't inform the manager. The manager made the excuse of it being busy, but isn't a Saturday normally busy. There seems to be no communication between the kitchen and the floor staff. The manager should know what is running low and what isn't in stock. I'm sure the PoS system has the ability to 86 items and ensure customers and management are kept up to date about these issues. The manager seemed a bit lost dealing with my complaint and I feel the owners aren't giving the poor girl the support and training she needs. Some more kitchen training should be implemented so your team works in a harmonious way. The restaurant scores are slipping due to staff service. Rassams should be sitting on a gold mine but is being dragged down by service . My recommendation to the owner, is to support your young staff and implement some systems to ensure your service takes this experience to gold star service restaurant. We're gutted and love the place , but with the wait time it's just not worth it. Good luck and I hope to see some more service training and you guys claim back those lost stars.

45 minutes waiting for an ice cream, only to be told they're out of the Ferrero rocher and we can just have chocolate sauce and nuts instead. Shocking service

Started ordering from this place recently, The care and attention they put into the orders is simply amazing…! Everything made fresh, taste is amazing and the service is brilliant.

Previously rated this place as a 5/5 but after my recent visit it became clear that something is not right.. the food was good as usual but the staff were so miserable and unwelcoming, it was like they didn’t want to be there. A smile and a warm welcome costs nothing and would go a long way to encourage repeat visits. I will be checking out reviews for improvement before I spend any more money here.

We did not eat in so ours was takeaway, my daughter was told the prices were cheaper for take away … which they were not, and one of medium cones that I paid for was actually a small but there was no option for a large one very misleading … just really need to sort out prices that customers are being told and the fact that they charged me for a cone you buy ten of for a quid and lead me to believe I was paying for a bigger one … just not a good first experience and won’t be visiting again.

Came for my sons birthday. It wasn't our first visit. Service was so slow. Placed order 7:52 pm. Received food at 8:40pm. No drinks, no cutlery were served with desserts. Went to till,they wasn't aware of drinks. 5 min later 2 out of 3 drinks was on the yill in the bar and none brings them. 3 drink was made and brought back to me at 8:50pm. I put 2 starts only because we like desserts and moktails. To the owner of this place, please get more staff or robots. It is extremely slow service. It never been fast because of specific of desserts, wait 1 hrs to be served drink is ridiculous.

There is a robot that brings your icecream!! We're coming back to be waited on by it :) donuts were delicious and the Death By Chocolate nearly defeated me!

Ice cream is very tasty and the venue colourful. However the service response is very poor. We waited 20,mins to be seated when it was half empty followed by a 40 min wait for 2 ice creams and slice of cake…

Grandsons love a pud, but do the staff have to be so remote, miserable and demotivated?? A smile costs nothing. I hate waiting a long time to be seated, and food waiting time was long. Didn’t feel welcomed or valued. Don’t go if you’re on a meter.

The service was absolutely terrible I went with some friends and our children. It took around 10 minutes to be seated. Then given a tablet I would much rather have preferred a paper menu. When ordered we waited around 50 minutes to have the food served when given the food was cold I asked for a fresh one as it was cold. The waiter came back in 2 minutes and the food had been microwaved. We asked multiple times for spoons, forks and knives only for the waiters to walk along our table and serve other people. The service is very poor and ran by the young community who seem as if they do not want to be there and treat people incredibly rude.

Waffles were quite cold. The bubblegum ice cream wasn’t actually bubblegum ice cream it was just bubblegum syrup with regular vanilla ice cream. Whipped cream tastes like perfume, and there was no signal during the time I was in there.

Bit of a rip off, ordered 4 different sundaes, in other desert parlours, a sundae consists of gelato ice cream then topped With Mr. Whippy. This place gives you an entire sundae of Mr whippy with just floured sauce and a few pieces of fruit. £7.99- £9 for Mr whippy, No thanks

My cheesecake was still frozen. Mentioned it to the staff who was helpful and probably microwave but was still frozen. My friend got an apple crumble and suprise suprise it was cold in the middle. I would say this place is more for kids than adults

The employee was very very rude, the height of fraud and deception. I do not recommend at all. He did not respect the customer and does not deserve any star.

What a disappointment! Visited with our granddaughter as a Christmas treat. Served by a miserable waitress who said it would be a 15 minute wait, even though we were the only customers! The tea and coffee served was undrinkable/ luke warm and tasteless. Our granddaughter though, enjoyed her ice cream. The seating was ripped and the toilets were just ok. Complete lack of atmosphere and very expensive . Would certainly not recommend

We bought 2 desserts and 2 drinks 1 of which was a coffee. I didn’t expect to have to pay extra for sugar and sweetener! We were brought a shot glass of sweeteners. How many did we need?!

Not the first time about 3 times to order vegan option due to allergies with dairy and egg. Lately a few times now there not many options don’t know why have it on the menu .Reduce vegan menu then . As well ordered vegan chocolate cake it isn’t fresh. Am highly disappointed .

Restaurant was pretty empty. No staff around initially apart from one lady dealing with another customer. Stood waiting to be seated for nearly 15 minutes before any other staff members appeared and even then they just ignored us. Finally seated and it takes another twenty minutes for someone to come back and get the order. Then it takes another hour to actually get the food, even though the restaurant was empty. The drinks came ten mins after the food, over an hour after we ordered them. Such a shame the service is so bad because the food is lovely. I don’t think I will be back. Could be so much better if anyone actually cared.

They have cool automated servers with robotic android cat faces, and then all the food is amazing. Except for anything with red velvet. It's dreadful.

Reached at 16:55, as not booked table, was asked to wait upto 10mins but after 5 mins, got the table. Waited more than half an hour before my children went to the main counter and asked for someone to come to take the orders. Given order at 17:38 , served at 18:08.....decent portion for family size ferrero cookie dough but taste and presentation was really good. As someone written earlier, can see staff going around looking busy but not seem to do what they are supposed to do ?Serve customers Otherwise, good to have Rassams in Wakefield, really nice interior, lighting and good for special occasions.

Absolutely appalling service, 1st and last time we will visit, staff not helpful or friendly, service ridiculously slow despite he place being almost empty and they clearly cannot manage larger groups for just deserts because our order came in dribs and drabs, such was the gap that those receiving their ice cream deserts first had finished by the time the last of our group received their ice cream deserts, it's not like one can wait as the ice cream would've melted, prices aren't cheap, avoid and go elsewhere.

Very child orientated, especially in the day. Do not go for a peaceful dessert! The menu is vast, and I imagine most people would find something they'd like. The majority of items can be modified with fruit, cream, custard, ice-cream etc. The portions are very large - for example, the kids Nutella pancakes are 3 large fluffy pancakes, with melted Nutella between them and poured on top, as well as whippy ice-cream and strawberries. It would easily be enough for an adult! The highlight is the 'server', which is a tall robot with cat ears. They load the plates onto the cat, and send it to your table playing a song. It's fun, the kids are fizzing with excitement and it adds something else to a typical dessert parlour experience! Lots of seating available, including very large booths designed for parties. Lovely to come as a treat in the day with kids.

Pretty empty restaurant so seated quickly. Brought an ipad for us to order from.....would've been much quicker for waiter to jot down!! Ice creams were ages being prepared and brought out one by one . 10 of us in total so took nearly 40 mins for all to get one! Ice creams were a very odd gloopy texture....not creamy at all. Didmt melt like an ice cream and very very solid! Think server was struggling to get out of tubs into cones too! The banana one tasted of washing up liquid and screen wash! Not that I've ever tasted either but you get my point! Such a shame as good soace/decor and clean....just was a creamery as described outside!

Inedible banana ice cream. My brother literally couldn’t eat it. The staff weren’t interested. 10 of us, and the ice creams were brought one at a time. Just a really naff experience, and cheap artificial flavoured ice creams.

We visited Rassams today, a place where people celebrate birthdays. We placed a large order totalling approximately £100, therefore we were disappointed with the treatment we received. To start, the waitress wasn't polite and treated us pretty badly. Second, we had to wait for at least an hour and the server was uncourteous from the start, moving us from the table three times. In addition, there was one order that was missing although we have asked twice about it but never received it and the tea was served cold. Finally, because this isn't the first or second time we've seen this circumstance, I would advise you to hire more kind, professional, and amiable employees for your customer care department.

regular customers here, came in with my family today the place was a bit busier than usual for a weekday, although our order was late we were understanding about it as it was very busy. when the food did arrive it tasted very nice as per usual and considering they had one staff on and the waitress was very busy herself she still managed to keep checking up on us ensuring everything was okay!

Today I visited Rassam with a group of friend, We spent £90 as a group, expecting a pleasant time, but the service was severely lacking. The waiter was unfriendly, showed no smile or sign of welcome, and made the whole visit feel uncomfortable. We waited an unusually long time to be served, and when our tea finally arrived, it was disappointingly cold. On the plus side, the sweets were tasty and well-made, but unfortunately, the poor service really overshadowed what could have been a great experience. It’s a shame because the food was enjoyable, but the service needs serious improvement to make it worth another visit.

Although everything was clean the overall atmosphere was okay. The waitress really didn't look like she wanted to be there. She didn't smile while smiled at her , she told me what to do on the iPad, like she was being held at ransom to do so. We waited at keast 15mins befor the robot bought our order. And then it came with things we didn't order. Then we waited another 10 minutes fir our drinks my first time. And maybe my last . My granddaughter had been befor, and she liked it. Suppose that's what mattered. Staff need to be more interactive with customers, and service is very slow.

I would recommend this for having great different flavour of ice cream or milkshake! It's worth to try one!

The food is fine but I don’t like the way they operate. Orders are made on a tablet and call me old fashioned but I like to be able to view the menu as a whole and not have to scroll through categories. You can’t even put the food through yourself, you have to wait for a member of staff to come do that for you, so why not just take our order the normal way? A robot brings the food to the table but someone walks next to it and has to take the food off the robot and hand it to you, so what’s the point? Their policy is that you have to pay before receiving your food because they’ve had too many people walk out. Maybe the staff should pay more attention to their customers and less to their phones and social conversations to avoid walk outs. One of the workers was sat at a table watching videos on his phone so loud that we could hear everything. Really unprofessional! I’m not saying don’t try the food but get it as a take away because the dine in experience is disappointing.

Enjoyed a birthday treat here with my daughter. The ice cream sundaes we chose were delicious! (Kinder bueno and red velvet), and so was the raspberry mocktail. Will definitely be back to sample more of the menu.

Ordered 3 desserts for delivery at £25. One was an ice cream sundae at £8. The ice cream was melted and virtually had to drink it - disappointed for the price - won’t order from there again.

Location and ambience is good. No site parking, only street or public parking. Hygiene and staff service needs to improve. Overall a good place for a family time out for a dessert.

We came to Rassams to fill our bellies after a disastrous meal in another restaurant. We ordered a large white chocolate cookie dough and a biscoff waffle, both with ice cream to share. We ate them all. Both were delicious. The only negative is the loud, obnoxious robot waiter, who is pointless anyway, as a waiter follows it and serves you your food anyway. It's annoying and so loud!

Come in regularly with kids to Rassams and use my student discount on a milkshake. I went in today and was told that they were not allowing student discounts in the holidays. I was able to use it last week and it was still holidays but today it’s changed. Picking and choosing when you can use your card and when you can’t! Depending on who the staff is! Can you make up your mind, can we use student discounts or not? Your staff are not very helpful!

Caters for young and old....excellent choice ,service and atmosphere. Will definitely recommend Rassams to all,also very easy to access from the railway station.

We enjoyed our visit here, my son and his nana had been before and loved it, this was my first time and it did not disappoint. I opted for the GF New York style cheesecake and it was delicious. My son loved his ice cream, devoured it pretty quickly and his nana had a mango milkshake I think, it was great but for it being a little too thick to drink through the straw. The staff, one young man in particular entertained my son and answered all of his 1000 questions about working there. The service robot deserves a shout too! Very cute! It's clean, it's bright, nice atmosphere if not for the music being a little too loud. Definitely will be returning! THANK YOU!

Absolute diabolical service run by kids with poor manners and attitude this was a ridiculously bad experience I will not return and other places in town offer better deserts with a much more pleasing service experience perhaps the place may consider replacing most of there staff with the robot that serves the food at your table at least it smiles! Kudos to the young chap who was cleaning the floors as he was the most attentive and pleasant man who should be hosting in my opinion

There were at least 7 staff potering around, 2 were on their phones. There was only 2 lots of tables in so they were not busy at all. We walked in, went to the ice cream counter because no one initially came to seat us. We stood there for 15 minutes. Not one member of staff acknowledged us, they walked past us and completely ignored us. So after 15 minutes we left, never to return

Place was beautifully decorated a waitress called Jess was extremely courteous and polite, helpful and made everything so easy for us. Dessert was brilliant I recommend the American Fudge chocolate sundae was well worth it!! Thanks guys!
