Good food, just false advertising. Any large pizza for 8.99 delivered. Not the case and even the guy I spoke to on the phone agreed.

Pizza is fine but they keep forgetting to put sauce on the wings. I have ordered BBQ a few times but keep receiving plain wings. Really annoying

Disappointed. Been wanting to try for a while and today made the effort to try it out and I wished I hadn’t, the food lacked that special something it’s average at best the dips taste cheap. Honestly just go to Domino’s or Pizza Hut it’s far superior

When I first tried Papa Johns, was really expecting a great pizza as Wakefield never had Papa Johns before until recently, but it was a massive disappointment. Dough tasted very tacky and stale, equivalent to chewing cardboard. The takeaway next door (Pizza Amore) is a million times better and humiliated Papa Johns….FRESH PIZZA not reformed. Pizza Amore has gained a customer and PJ loses a customer, be ashamed of yourselves for the mess you made!

I go here at least 3 times a week after long days of coming home from work. These guys are fantastic for what they do. Friendly staff, highest quality of ingredients and food and I mean, much better than weird dominos. I highly recommend big time. Overall. Fantastic service. Keep up the good work.

Best pizza I've had in Wakefield so far.

This is not a review of the staff or place. Staff were nice and friendly, the shop was clean and tidy… this is solely a review of the food. The sides were very meek, and looked like an afterthought. And then pizzas were totally disappointing. The crust was doughy and cold, while the toppings (meet based) lacked any flavour and totally tasteless. It felt more like a rush job than a crafted pizza as advertised. A disappointing experience for a true pizza lover and with the price of the GDP of a small country, I’ll be avoiding Mr Papa John from here on out. Try your local pizza place, in my opinion, chains are always disappointing.

I came in and was greeted with a warm welcome. The food was absolutely fantastic and I will definitely return.

This is quite definitely the best food establishment in this entire part of the city! Upon entry I was impressed by the sheer effortlessness and precision of my experience. I had ordered for 5pm and I arrived at 4.59pm. The polite and experienced staff handed me my crisp, flavourful pizza, which I devoured within 5 minutes, mainly because the sheer indefatigably of the staff in a stressful situation, meant that even though the store was busy, they were still able to bestow me with a meal crafted with love. If you would like to feel fulfilled, valued by staff, more than satisfied with the food and complete, come to this shop.

Probably best summed up as cheaper than, but not as good as, Dominoes. The pizza base tasted OK but the toppings were a little sparse. Avoid the nasty little pot of garlic sauce that comes with the pizzas. It tastes disgusting and it takes a while to get rid of the taste. Overall, the pizza flavour was a little bland - probably due to lack of toppings and sauce. Won't be going back.

Ordered for collection on the app: 3 pizzas and 2 sides came to shy of £70. The cost doesn’t translate to the quality of the food. It’s an American style pizza so chewy dough and the toppings were decent enough. On par with Pizza Hut and a bit better than dominoes. Was nice to try but doubt I would have it again anytime soon. For the same price would rather have an authentic wood fired pizza in a restaurant.

Food was rubbish. It was very bland. The pizza hardly had any toppings and no sauce on base which was odd and very dry, we also got chicken wings that had a funny smell and taste to them so just binned them. Was all a waste of money. Ordered on the website so can't comment on service or inside of the store. Order was delivered quick but food wasn't warm which didn't make sense

Pizzas are ok. Not enough toppings, base sauce and cheese in comparison to other Papa Johns I’ve visited in the past. Felt a little dry. You also get more with Domino’s. Something isn’t quite right, which could be due to them only just opening. Hope they will take on the feedback from these reviews as I would be open to visit again.

Tried to order online with the 50% off- it wouldn’t allow me to do delivery. But it would on Uber ears- I rang them up …after 5 attempts a man answered I told him I was having issues putting it for delivery - he said he’ll look into it and slammed the phone down on me :( rude as hell! Won’t attempt ordering from these again!!! Stick with Pizza Hut

Had Papa John's for the first time and it was disappointing, definitely not what I expected. Pizzas had a poor amount of sauce, cheese and toppings. It was pretty bland in general and lacked flavor, very similar to Domino's. I don't think I'll be ordering again.

Bit plain and taste less. Philliy steak . Very light on the steak . Pepperoni was nice . The special garlic dip I found disgusting . Was like melted butter . And didn't taste any garlic in it Overall clean pizzas but others for that price taste better . I'll try them once more and hope they have improved

Found it tasteless to be honest. Topping slid off when picking up the slices. Will be ordering from pizza amore in the future who are next door they do really nice pizzas, lots of flavour.
