Rasoy in Elmbridge

I had been working away in Epsom all weekend, so popped in on spec, having not booked a table, and I was fitted in no problem. Pleasant staff catered for me very well. The food was excellent, I had a vegetable Pathia, and poppadums, with mushroom pilau rice.

there were four of us, for a mid-week dinner. None of us had been to Rasoy before. The food was very good. However, the waiter forgot one of the dishes which only arrived almost at the end of our meal. Then, when the bill arrived, two items we had not ordered, or seen had been added in. These were removed once pointed out. This rather took the edge off the experience and we are doubtful of a return.

The new upgrade is excellent the food is tasty and worth a visit. Service is also commendable this is a very good Asian restaurant in claygate and surrounding area. Authentic Bangladesh cooking similar to the SRILANKAN cuisine. Family friendly and the service was excellent. Look forward to visiting in the near future. Thanks

As a long standing customer I am compelled to update my review after my last order. We all understand the pressures on the bottom line due to inflation..... Chutneys went up in price from 60p to 75p in summer 2021, so probably due an increase, fair enough. But instead of increasing the price, they have decided to halve the size of the pots! No notification of this change and they only half fill them. Really?????

Family of ten went to the Sunday banquet-it is such great value for money and you get so much delicious food! I would thoroughly recommend it. The staff are really friendly and can’t do enough for you.

I travelled 12 miles on my bike to get here because one of my friends is very difficult to please and we are still trying to find an Indian (Bangladeshi) restaurant in Surrey that he likes. He only ever orders a chicken dhansak, doesn’t eat the vegetable curry that comes with it and then complains that it’s dry. Anyway, leaving him aside, the other two of us enjoyed our meals very much. I had two dishes that I’d never tried before - the squid starter and a chicken rojoni special. The blended Spanish house red wine was also very good for the price of about £20 a bottle. I’d go back if I was in the area again.

Excellent venue all freshly cooked beautifully tasting food

Tried Rasoy for a takeaway after some recommendations and it didn’t disappoint. Delicious food, not greasy, and lots of choice. Will be ordering again.

A pint of Cobra is £6.75 here now. Sadly the food is very bland, I had the chicken tandoori and my partner the chicken tikka biryani. The dishes lacked any substance and was just a wishy washy 5/10 meal. So disappointing. Definitely needs a new chef.

Too many Indian restaurants use a ‘base’ sauce and only add a few different things each time to create differently named dishes. Thankfully, Rasoy is NOT such a place. Each dish looked and tasted freshly cooked and the service was efficient and non intrusive. Not the cheapest but given it’s in the heart of Claygate, that’s hardly surprising. Will certainly return.

Our first time or ding from here and happy to say it now won’t be the last! Very authentic food, fresh and came hot. Could not fault the taste or potion size. One of the best Indian takeaways I’ve had in years! Thank you

Having been a regular customer for many years it occurred to me that I really ought to leave a review to say how good the food is at the Rasoy. I enjoy Indian food generally and have tried other restaurants in the local area, wider afield and I've even spent some time in India and Sri Lanka. Rasoy is definitely up there, serving good quality and tasty food. I'd definitely recommend you give it a go and hope you enjoy.

Excellent place with amazing food, and excellent staff. Warm and welcoming place, definitely the best curry I’ve had since moving to the UK… and I’ve had Durban curry! Can’t recommend enough, please support this little gem in Claygate!

So went to go for a dine but got very bluntly tuned away shortly after 5.30 on a Saturday and got told it was fully booked so got a takeaway instead. While waiting a good 40 minutes for the food to be ready no one showed up but was told fully booked yes me and my work mate was in work clothes what also made me feel quite insulting that are Appearance matter so once found somewhere to eat as working away I Decided to ring them for booking and as you guessed they had tables to be ready right away Overall the food was bland but okay But after that experience it wasn’t very inviting or friendly or polite from the staff at the Indian takeaway

Simply the best Indian food in this area of Surrey - and we've tried most of them I think. Now we just stick with Rasoy, visiting probably once per week for two years now. We've taken friends and family, and never once been let down. Freshly made, delicious food, always spot on, always looked after.

Always fanatic food and friendly service. The only Indian restaurant I use now. The chicken chettinad is simply divine.

I found the food bland and quality poor. The chicken tikka was hard and lacked marinade. The chettinand chicken masala was poor not enough pepper, coconut, fennel or curry leaves. The saag paneer was one of the worst I had and over sweet. Overall I cannot rate this place well.

The food here is amazing, the service is excellent. The staff are so lovely & friendly, at the end of the night they gave us a free tipple to finish off with. Such great food.

Excellent Bangladeshi restaurant. Visited with friends after the races at Sandown. The food and drink was excellent. The staff were very friendly. We were given a complimentary drink after our meal. Definitely visit again

We eat regularly here - both in the restaurant or takeaway. When we've had deliveries the food always arrives hot, and the quality never fails. The portions are a good size too. They always arrive when they say they will too. Would happily recommend.

Well, where to start, in these challenging this restaurant is superb. If you happen to be in Claygate or live anywhere near here the truly you should come here to sample the food, it's fantastic, thank you. Excellent service, excellent food = a winning combination. Last time I was here was with a group on business as it was recommended. I happened to be staying close by tonight and rather than sit in a hotel restaurant ambled down here and they did not fail to deliver. A truly wonderful Bangladeshi restaurant, I look forward to returning.

Very tasty food with lots of unusual dishes that lifts this restaurant well above the usual Biriani and Madras houses. Very good house wine too .

During the pandemic this place has continued to flourish and their take-away offer is excellent. They will deliver too if required. The curried lamb shank is a gastronomic experience not to be missed!

Meal very unattractive. Meat dishes 'questionable', dull flavour. Onion Bajii probably a few days old. Rice OK< Veg dishes OK. Would not buy from here again. Shame - reputation was very good. Trying to support restaurants during Covid times. Wasted effort in this case.

Very helpful and polite friendly team who go above and the food is of great quality and never disappoints! Dining in or delivery/take away it's always very enjoyable and the prices are fair too, all in all a very popular restaurant with myself family and friends.

Went to another place, in Hinchley Wood and full. So ended up here, which turned out very well. Simple decor, which is clean, comfortable and inviting. Hate to admit that I find fussy places distracting and wonder if that is the intention. Anyway once seated we were attended by pleasant and friendly staff, drinks ordered and delivered swiftly. The food choice is excellent as was the dishes we chose. Thank you for a throughly good evening and looking forward to a return visit.

my wife and I had wonderful dinner the starter was excellent the main meal the lamb was tender and very tasty okra was the best I have had for a long time it was worth visiting in the evening to enjoy the service and the food.

This restaurant is one that we only visit every few months. We have never been disappointed and on this occasion it was the same as usual very tasty food. We had chicken sag grill,mojada, mixed vegetable curry, and cauliflower bhaji.we also had the Chilean Sauvignon blanc which we enjoyed.

This Indian restaurant is small and thus the food and service is outstanding. The owner is the chef and the food is superb. The lamb shank curry is outstanding. Great service, excellent food, sensible prices and perfectly sized portions.

I last ate here over a year ago and would have rated it as average to good. However, this visit was exceptionally poor though our negative comments were received politely and apologetically by the owner. Appalling service, surly waiter who made it obvious from the beginning that it was a lot of trouble to find us a table in the half full restaurant.we did not want a starter and ordered a main course, we both had 'chef's specials'; my guests was tasty , mine was bland with almost no flavour swimming in a thick yellow sauce, my pilau rice had very tiny grains of dry rice with no flavour. As we finished these dishes the same waiter 'plonked' a metal dish containing two prepacked heated cloths in front of us. He did not offer us either a dessert or coffee - we decided to leave as the atmosphere was uncomfortable. We made a comment to the owner which was received well. I do not live in the UK but my guest was local - he will not go there again.

Honestly the best curry I've ever had. A friend and I ordered chicken dhansk and chicken tikka masala. Both were exceptional and the service was very good and friendly. I would 100% recommend anyone to go here for a curry :)

I visited this curry house last night. The curry was AMAZING ..The dishes were very well made with lots of lovely flavours. Will definitely be going back. I almost disappointed that this place is not my local curry house for a take away. x x

This is the first time that I've reviewed a takeaway - as opposed to a sitting-down one.I'm doing so on account of several outstanding features - food, service and punctuality. I ordered chicken pasanda, (thick) tarka dal and 2 stuffed parathas. When I 'phoned to place my order, the staff member who answered was both friendly and efficient. The food was delivered on the dot at the time I'd requested; the deliverer, in turn, was friendly. The food was hot, generous and delicious..As for the restaurant itself, I can only say that if the takeaway is any indicator of what one would find eating in the restaurant, I doubt that anyone would be disappointed.It is situated in The Parade in Claygate and, certainly in the evening, parking close-by is most unlikely to present a problem. Although I've lived (on-and-off) in the village since the Dark Ages and have thus walked past/visited the shops and restaurants there many, many times over the years; this was my first encounter with Rasoy - and it was a positive one. Prices (for what I ordered, at any rate) were perfectly reasonable and great value. No doubt, before long I and my other (and much better) half Sue will dine there. In the interim, I can thoroughly recommend the takeaway for food and service.

We have been there a few times and the food has been okay but when it comes to it they give too much sauce and less meat.The lamb has been chewy and fatty/gristly.Overall good attentive service and complimentary drink which gets spoiled by sub standard food.

There were 5 in our party and we all chose a dish each. We had 4 starters all excellent. Main courses were, Lamp Passanda Chick Sag Grill Makhani Chicken, Murgh ampani, Kholapuri. With so many dishes it was amazing that everyone in the group thought they were very good. The service was a bit slow but this was overlooked when we were offfered drinks on the house

Arrived at 6pm when they opened , wanted a quick curry , waited over half an hour for starters , whilst takeaways flying out of the door , same again for main , asked for dishes to be cleared took another 10 minutes, waiters standing around not doing a lot !!! The bill was the quickest thing to arrive , took about 30 seconds , disappointing as usually ok and a nice restaurant to visit ,

Excellent local Indian/Bangladeshi restaurant that has improved over time. The restaurant itself is bright and cheerful, as are the staff. Wide menu of curries and tandoori dishes and the chef's specialities are particularly good. Often full at weekends so worth booking.

I wanted a curry in Claygate with friends and there is a choice of two. I’ve been to the other which was very good so thought, based on reviews, I’d try this one. I thought the food was very good with decent service and we had a very pleasant Thursday night. Thanks

My dad and have been using Rasoy for the past 15 years for takeaways and dinner. The standard has not changed and the food and the staff are fabulous. Im ashamed to say we haven't been into the restaurant since the refurb, but we have had so many takeaways! keep up the good work and a pat on the back to the chef.

Booked a Saturday night meal for 2. It was cosy and full of atmosphere. The service was good, the food was very tasty and as good as we have eaten. The chicken shashlik was particularly tasty and moist. We will definitely be going back! Would definitely recommend.

Best local curryhouse in my opinion at a reasonable cost. I'm a big fan of Jolshiri too and didn't think it possible there would be anywhere better in Elmbridge, let alone Claygate, but Rasoy managed it. Also ordered takeaway which arrived ahead of schedule with everything included - I mistakenly thought they'd omitted naan bread and had to make a rather embarrassing apology afterwards!

Always a pleasure dealing with Rasoy, we normally dine in at the restaurant but decided on a takeaway it was delivered within 15mins was not cold tasted divine with a Christmas card and chocolates!

Ate here while staying in claygate for vacation. Food was so good, and service was especially helpful. Felt like a special dinner at very reasonable prices. Plus we ended our meal with a complimentary grand mariner.

Nos son enormes ventiladores, tener un curry firme favorito en Wimbledon (Curry Royale) pero no entrega a Esher, así que hemos buscado un lugar tan bueno para hacer nuestro después de movimiento. Hemos probado otros en esta área, no me impresionó, no volver. Finalmente hemos encontrado Rasoy! Soy vegetariano y pedir su sag aloo y montor paneer y estoy muy particular sobre estos platos. Sag aloo es un plato favorito de muchos, pero a menudo mal preparado por restaurantes - patatas sobre o bajo preparado, espinacas salsa demasiado aguados, demasiado seco sin humedad para el plato, pero aquí es perfecto. A mi marido le encanta el curry de pollo que tiene varios pedidos desde aquí también. Sin duda probarlo. Los chicos de entrega son siempre muy amable.

Habiendo reservado una mesa wee condujeron pero nadie vino a preguntar qué bebidas para servir o dar un menú hasta después de la mesa de al lado estaba ocupado algún tiempo más tarde. Al final nos tomamos unas copas y popodums pero aún así no orden tomado. Finalmente pedimos pero nuestra cena fue dada a otra mesa que terminó con su propia orden. Fue 2 horas antes de que finalmente, después de haber perdido nuestro apetito. Tuvimos que ver la tabla más adelante antes de nosotros todo el tiempo, a pesar de que llegamos después.

I have a bowel disease and this is the only Take away restaurant that I will happily order from. There food is truly amazing and a very good and fair price. There service is always good with polite staff and a speedy delivery service. We really could not fault them and would highly recommend them.

Lived in the Village for over 20yrs and this has always come up trumps for great food and service. True it's not as 'trendy' as the other in the village, but the food is far superior and it's always busy. Give it a try you won't regret it!!

Lovely taste very friendly staff

It was a Friday evening meal with friends , food was excellent as was the service. Our friends also commented it was one of the best curries they have had ,for sometime .

We have been using this restaurant for approximately 40 years, 2-3 times per month. The service is out of this world, always made to feel welcome and never want to leave.Food is of an excellent standard and the staff are always on hand to recommend dishes to try.Our favorite restaurant by far!

We have eaten here many times and it never disappoints the staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble the quality is excellent and well worth the wait as everything is cooked to order I have never had a bad dish from here. The decorations are light and airy with a contemporary feel. You would be hard pressed to find a better curry unless you travel to Bangladesh!
