Ranoush - Kensington in City of London, Westminster

I am a long time customer. I used to frequently visit as an imperial college student and on my returns to London never miss the opportunity to visit ranoush juice either sit down or takeaway. On my visit this time there were about 8 men in the restaurant obviously 2 or 3 were the owners. Straight away there was an off feel as they looked up and put on their customer front but only half heartedly I ordered shawarma 2 lamb 2 chicken with everything salads etc. the only different request was for the chicken to have only garlic sauce not the other sauces they add. Take away. We waited for the food and my young daughter told me she was uncomfortable with the attention she was getting and I was already getting strange vibes from the staff. The restaurant had one or two people sitting at the back eating. The food was ready and I checked with chef we had the correct order because he seemed sort of indifferent- he repeated the order back but mentioned chicken with just garlic sauce not salad. He was reluctant to change and correct the order and given I had already paid all I could do was convince him to give salad in a box. We took food back to hotel 1 minute away to eat there. The food tasted good. The meat seemed well cooked and seasoned. The bread was more large than pitta but still tasted good. However overall taste was off . My daughter was a little more picky than me , she opened the lamb shawarma and found just onion no other veg , she removed most of the onion on as it was overpowering but she ate and enjoyed it. The chicken had just chicken and sauce. The salad box on the side was just pickle and tomato. We ate and it was still enjoyable tasty food. So overall the food tasted fine but did not have everything I expected from ranoush. But the vibe was off, off enough that combined with lack of attention to order and reluctance to change order for what was asked to a 2 star review. I do not give this rating lightly as a return customer from at least 2010 or so. I must also note that when ranoush had the sit down restaurant a few years back I remained a loyal customer despite being inside while environmental health visited. Usually inspectors are subtle but in this case they made a show of putting on their uniform and asking owners about changes made and inspection. I was still dumb enough to remain loyal then but no longer. You have lost a long term loyal customer today.

The best place for chicken and lamb shawarma in the area! The meat is perfectly seasoned, tender, and packed with flavour.

Amazing service and an amazing shawarma last night. Wow. Had the chicken and the lamb. And both were amazing! The garlic sauce was to die for. Thick, creamy and a taste of the garlic sauce in every bite! Chilli sauce was just right (I asked for less as I can’t handle it) and they nailed it. I’ll definitely return the next time I’m in Kensington! Better than Edgeware Road by far!

It was close to the hotel and it closed late, so I tried chicken shawarma and meat shawarma with chips and fattoush, and they were all delicious and the quantities were large and fresh 😍 The shop is small and the smell of cooking is overwhelming.

My favourite branch to drop into now, especially for take away - even over Beauchamp road.

This is the best schwarma place. The meat, the sauces, the portion size to price ratio, and most importantly: the flavours. The food is freshly made and the kitchen area is visible, giving confidence in the food being made. They give you everything you need to create the perfect meal to your liking. The service is great, the workers and cooks are very friendly and are very hard working. I get that the dining area itself is a little cramped but what can you expect based on property size. What they've made is plenty spacious enough for families and couples. I don't even live in London, but I visit just to go here, it's the best one.

Lamb cubes were the first best out of all the other ones same with every thing else

If you don’t mind paying (£8 for one shawarma)… this is the best shawarma in London hands down

Cosy little restaurant cafe with friendly service and incredible food. Very impressed with the falafel, hummus and shawarma wraps with plentiful portion sizes. Great place to visit for a sit down or takeaway meal at a pretty reasonable price for London.

So disappointed by how you treat your customers. Ordered 4 shawarmas, got 3 and the food was stone cold. Called and blamed all on Deliveroo, no apology.

Little welcoming cosy restaurant. Staff is highly kind and helpful. Food is fresh, gorgeous and abundant. A totally satisfying experience that left me with a smile for long. And happy stomach 😀.

Ranoush. El mejor shawarma de Londres, especialmente el cordero pedido extra crujiente . . yum yum . .

Terrible value for money. More than 40 pounds during their closing time and my mixed kebab has one spoon of chicken and 2 slices of tomato. Have to order more food from somewhere else after spending so much is ridiculous. Bread it came with tastes stale. Probably one of the worst kebabs I've had before.

We ordered shawarma, kebab, rice, and french fries because we were arriving from the airport and they no longer accept orders for local food. Frankly, their food was very delicious. The restaurant was open late, and the staff’s behavior was wonderful.

wow very very expensive.I ate 2 shawarma chips and drink in the front 'takeaway' section.. it came to 28.41!! The wraps are absolutely tiny so I needed 2. If you see my reviews , I love my shawerma, so I'd say it tastes good but double the price what iv paid almost everywhere to get the same amount of 'full'. I won't be returning for this reason unfortunately...I mean I was even charged service charge and sat on a seat facing outside basically - like a kebab shop 😂

Strongly recommend all of the below. - Mixed grill (Chicken, Lamb, Kofta) £20 - Houmous (comes w/ pitta) £8.5 - Salad (fattoush) £8? - Tabbouleh £8? - Mint tea x2 £5? (This was more than enough for 2, salad and tabbouleh are big) My no.1 fav Lebanese chain in London. The food is amazing. Despite it looking like a kebab shop which essentially is, it’s the most delicious & healthiest food place there is. A lot of fresh veg and meats, v clean flavour with lemon, parsley, garlic, and salt. There are carb options such as wraps, rice, chips on the menu which I love but I happily would go without at this place. The staff are lovey too. ✔️ - table for 1-2 (max 4) - dairy/gluten-free - walk-in, open until late Walked in at 10pm on Saturday. Got a table for 2 straight away. Other visitors included couples and families.

Feels like home. Exceptional food, exceptional service, the kindest and generous staff.. absolutely addicted.

BIG NO! Before you say anything I’m a CHEF 👩🏻‍🍳 A REAL ONE, from Australia I KNOW WHAT I TALK ABOUT! I think I never put one star. First we come in they are not welcoming at all, not a smile, feeling uncomfortable and judged for no reason, that’s my money to give them right? Second empty place most of the time I passed by.. and Third FOOD POISONING!!! We took me and my twin 2 kebabs. We got sick all the night took urgent medication at 24h store for the stomach the day after, we both vomit and it was the 2 kebabs straight after it, the meat wasn’t fresh for the price we paid. It was the worst experience of my trip and we tried most restaurants of this street! Never coming back!

Food is super tasty and fresh, we had their lunch special next to share for 2 and one shawarma which was enough to share for 2 of us. Everyone was ever so polite, food was tasty, fresh it was very clean there.

Unfortunately, it was a bad test. The food and the place. The food looked like yesterday. The taste is not good. Oh God, praise be to you. I do not recommend it at all. The price is high and he takes a tax from you. He tells the store that it is not true and we paid it by force. The food has an unpleasant odor that makes you feel like you are vomiting. Your liver is swirling. May God suffice us for them and He is the best disposer of affairs.

The quality of the food was not good as it was too greasy and the mixed shawarma was piled on top of each other including garnishes. It arrived to the table cold despite the restaurant was almost empty! Members of the staff kept shouting and discussing personal matters so loudly at the middle of the place making it very awkward to talk while we were having our dinner. As for the cost……. It was overpriced for such very poor service. Shame, as I do remember this place few years back with high respect to every aspect of the service.

I’ve been coming here for years and still love it. It’s my favorite shawarma place outside of Beirut, and if I’m honest (having lived in Beirut), even in Beirut you can’t always get shawarma of this quality. Mezzehs are also decent, although this not the kind of place for an elaborate mezzeh sit-down or diner. Service is friendly, prices have gone up quite a bit in recent years, but then, it’s the same everywhere.

Genuinely torn, the food was tasty and good quality, chips were fresh. We ordered takeaway and the food travelled well. However the service was poor and the portion size and price was a rip off. Two small shawarmas and chips = £28. Wasn’t asked how or what we wanted in our shawarma (personally I do not like tomato nor gherkin and I’m usually asked) not offered chilli/garlic sauce etc. instead it was just made and given which was disappointing. Overall I wouldn’t come back here, food was not value for money.

Not worth the money, as the meat platter had hardly sufficient meat. Stale breads too. It can be better!

A slap on Lebanese faces how can u go wrong with fattoush???? No pickles no garlic no chilli and the most annoying service the girls voice was so high that we couldn’t even have a convo so rude waste of £70 really Maroush is well known but this branch is a big slap on their faces rethink of hiring a server that doesn’t shriek and shout she even took my food before I finished and was slapping all the food on the table and dragging it wow

I have been eating from here regularly for over 20 years. There is no better Shawarma in London. I now live outside of London and I visit when I can ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I live and work a five minute walk away from Ranoush Juice in Kensington. A few days ago my friend and I went to Ranoush Juice and ordered Lamb Wraps to takeaway and according to my friend, hers was dreadful, with really tiny pieces of meat, that reminded her of left over crumbs. Shocking that they couldn't be bothered to cut more meat and just gave her the 'crumbs'. Mine was okay though, so I didn't really get what she meant until today. Today I went to Ranoush Juice at around 3pm and I asked for a Chicken wrap to takeaway and I was given exactly the same thing, instead of chicken pieces, they were like 'chicken crumbs', and the wrap itself was either too torn and dried in places or incredibly soggy which rendered eating the wrap quite disgusting. They charged me over £8. To the man who made my wrap and my friend's wrap the other day....SHAME ON YOU, you wouldn't give that to a dine-in customer because they would 100% ask for their money back, so why do that to a takeaway customer? BTW both times I went, they did not cut the meat in front of you, they assembled the wrap under the counter where the customer can't see what they are doing. PLEASE AVOID.

Food poisoning!! My 5 year old daughter and I shared the whole chicken and fatoush salad and became violently ill after eating. We will never order from here again.

Ranoush on Kensington High Street offers amazing shawarma wraps that are simply delicious. The flavors are rich, and the quality of the ingredients shines through, making it a must-try for shawarma enthusiasts.

This is a nice place to go if you are in the mood for a kebab. I enjoyed the mixed grill. But I was disappointed that they did not have the dessert I wanted to order.

This definitely beats any shawarma I’ve tried on Edgware Road ! I got the lamb and loved the flavour I just wish it was cut a bit smaller ! We got the chips as well but they had no salt and weren’t crispy ! The garlic mayo was alright but the garlic was too subtle for my liking 🤷🏽‍♀️ The shawarma alone is why this place gets 4 stars !

Came all the way from Oxford to introduce my kids to the joys of shawarma! We were not disappointed. The juices were lovely and the food great. Sujuk shawarma slightly not as good as I recall it but lamb and chicken were top notch. Service was excellent and the waitress was really welcoming and friendly. Kids want to go back already!

We decided to come here as friends recommend it but we were surprised at the size of the portions. We were disappointed to find the size was insufficient to nourish the most meagre of individuals. The servings, at £8 a pop, constitute possibly the most expensive stater one may hope hope to encounter at the most basic of restaurants.

Didn't get in to dishoom so came here and my god I'm so glad we did it was an absolute flavour sensation- seriously good food and lovely staff. Would highly recommend.

We did takeout and i got a chicken shawarma with no tomatoes. It is very good and i definitely recommend this. We got our food very quickly and went to a nearby area with benches to eat.

Always good when dining in. A takeaway will just ruin the experience as the grilled meat has to be had fresh off the fire. Mixed grill was very tasty and done to perfection. Service the the two waitresses was great. A good, safe option on HSK.

We were needing a place to eat after 9pm and found this place still open. We were so happy to have found such delicious food!! Lots of lamb options on the menu but chicken too. We ordered a side salad and it was huge, plenty for two people to share. I ordered grilled chicken cubes and it also was a large enough portion to have split or take home half for another meal. My husband had a wrap. Everything was very good and service was great. They also serve wine. It seemed to be popular with locals. We would recommend this place!

Ranoush has always been our go to for a quick bite which is fresh and flavoursome. It closes really late on weekends as well so if you're out and looking for something to eat - I would always choose here. I agree it's to be able to see your food being prepared and the chefs are always professional and welcoming. Unfortunately, the last few times I've visited, I have found the waiting staff to be much less welcoming, you can seem like an inconvenience- I've noticed that shawarmas definitely don't come with sauces as before, they do charge for garlic sauce which is absolutely delicious but we haven't even been offered that lately for buying. We tried pretty much everything on the menu over the years and recently we've stuck to the lentil soup (the last was very thick, we actually watered it down because it was too thick) and shawarmas which are always fresh and tasty. Try the food for yourself and if you can try and eat in for a better experience!

The older lady with blonde hair working was very very rude to my family. The place was empty so I’m not too sure why she was scaring away the only customers willing to enter the place 🥲

Service was wonderful and the food was ok. I had a lamb shawarma which was ok but I personally would have liked it to be more seasoned. In addition I had a portion of chips which were fresh and lightly salted.

We arrived late from a show and Ranoush was the only place open at the time we got back. We ordered the Halloumi Shawarma which was excellent!! Will definitely be back.

They lie. Menu says freshly baked bread but it's just the usual round chewy cheap store bread, and when asked they say it's "fresh from their main restaurant". I saw piles packets of stuff in a room next to the bathroom. Food otherwise is ok but mostly nothing amazing. Shawarma was good tho Overall it's very expensive

Quality of the food was good lamb chicken etc. However this particular branch is very old inside seating and cookery very old and not very clean. Waitresses very unexperienced and is not friendly. but the food quality was good pricey considering the interior of the restaurant and cookery and service. You can get parking after 630 and the surrounding area behind the church is the perfect. Constructive criticism the restaurant needs refitting out new inside with new cookery seating and needs to hire more experienced waitresses or waiters but on the quality of food worth a try

Came across this place whilst walking in Kensington High street and I’m really glad we did. Food was outstanding and amazing value for money. The lady who looked after us was so friendly and a real delight. If you want somewhere where you won’t leave hungry this is the place.

Pretty good food and lots to choose from. Service isn't bad, but it's not super friendly, although you get served quite quick.

Went here with my family as a recommendation from a work colleague. It’s a very small Lebanese Cafe, perhaps just 6 tables at the rear of the takeaway area but the food was absolutely superb and I recommend the Kibbeh is you are hungry

We popped into this restaurant as the tube was closed and we were on our way to St John’s Wood for dinner. Diner type experience and very casual but wonderful food and s great ambience. Felt like a family run business. Wine by the glass and the waitress was unsure of the wine but her pleasant manner made up for it. Worth a visit.

Pedimos comida aquí esta noche, llegó 40 minutos tarde y era basura absoluta. . .En primer lugar, la comida llegó y estaba mal (pollo en lugar de falafel en el pedido y el recibo del pedido) Soy vegano, así que tuve un mal comienzo. Honestamente, el estado de esta comida, te daría vergüenza servir esto en una prisión. Ver fotos.Realmente disfruté el paquete de panes rancios y fríos que todavía estaban en el empaque del supermercado económico, solo para decirme que solo cuestan 1, un toque realmente agradable.Lo evitaría incluso si este fuera el último lugar en la tierra para comer después de una huelga de hambre de 60 días. Ojalá pudiera dar estrellas negativas. . .

Mind boggling that ppl have given this anything less than a 5 star. Easily the best lebanese food in the world. Without any doubt. And consistent. I have been having it for 15 years and its always perfect. it can be busy but the shish taouk is great and the hummus and tabouleh is divine

Habíamos planeado ir a otro lugar para cenar, PERO las colas en otros lugares eran ridículas, así que terminamos en Ranoush. Estoy muy contento de haberlo hecho, fue una fiesta de comida deliciosa, excepcionalmente fresca. Sabores libaneses, ensaladas y comida estilo vegano. Tuvimos hummous beiruty, baba ganoush, tabulé y falafel para empezar. Muy fresco y sabroso. Panes pitta calientes para acompañar todo. Luego compartimos una parrillada mixta y obviamente la porción fue muy generosa. Bien sazonada y sabrosa. Terminé llevándome todas las sobras a casa. Buenas raciones grandes, realmente agradable compartir comida. Me alegro de haber ido:) Grandes opciones de menú para todo el mundo. La cuenta era muy razonable también. Los más felices de irse.

Este es un lugar pequeño justo al lado de Kensington High Street y casi directamente al otro lado de la calle desde la parada de metro. He estado muchas veces pero solo para llevar. La comida siempre ha sido caliente y deliciosa, incluso cuando regresé a mi hotel con mi pedido. Los camareros siempre han sido amables y serviciales. Es uno de mis lugares favoritos cuando estoy fuera de casa.

No puedes equivocarte con Maroush. Tuvimos que cancelar un plan de último momento el viernes por la noche para cenar al otro lado de la calle (una confusión con un cupón en La Fortuna que aparentemente nunca existió) y aterrizamos en Randa Maroush sin reserva. Nos llevaron de inmediato a una mesa y una cesta de verduras frescas colocadas frente a nosotros. Toda la comida que pedimos estaba deliciosa y perfectamente preparada: hummus, tabulé, brochetas, hojas de parra. Siempre una buena comida en Maroush!

Probably the best Lebanese food you can have.. Part of the Maroush chain, the quality of the food in this place is unbeatable! Do not expect big table as this is mostly a fast food and delivery restaurant. Just go and have a try!
