Rami's Take Away Food Shop in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

First time I've ever had a burnt kebab. Really not what I expected. Go to Ali Babas or Alverton.

Great food, ordered the value box meal, filled to the brim with meat and chips and chicken, and finished my order quickly.

I do not recommend. I just received an order for delivery. and it was completely different than I wanted. I called and asked how to fix it. I received information that the employee decided so and did so. Please do not order online, only in person. And look at their hands.i do it order for wraps...

I live local, 30 seconds away in fact, i just had to stand in the wind as the shop itself is insufferable in a hot and sweaty atmosphere kinda way, after waiting 10 mins my friend went in they forgot the order of chips... thats all it was large chips for 4 pounds, to then get the chips no vinegar salt order and they come lathed in vinegar, also in a small container, absolute wreck of a shop which wouldnt be there if not for the late night weekend drunks.

Ower priced food , really bad quality. My shish also was raw.

It was a rather dreary night out on the town in pz, like a hatchling turtle dazed by the lights I came scrambling for refuge and there he was! The gorgeous mr Rami beaming like like the prom on a fine summers day. In that moment it’s as if I was back in my mothers womb; he kept me warm and nurtured me with his most splendid cuisine. Rat anecdotes? There were no rats. Must be a projected fragment of your twisted minds! 10/10 would recommend bangin

The website was so difficult to use I gave up. Tried calling Rami instead, call went straight to voicemail so, I took notice of the reviews and went elsewhere.

This was the worst kebab shop I have ever been too!! The food was cold, the chicken was horrible, I threw it away, the Donna meat itself tasted weird, the only part that tasted alright was the pitta bread. I would not recommend this takeaway and I will certainly never return here again. If I could give zero stars, I would.

Ordered lovely service even have me an extra piece of chicken. However the whole point of grabbing a takeaway is hot food right?? Got a kebab and a piece of chook ended up with 2 chooks. Got home all freezing cold. What's the point. Very disappointed

So I just ordered a small mix with chips costing me £10 and when it was served I asked for salad……. Then I was told salad was an extra charge??????? All others in Penzance never charge for salad. Never again. After saying no the salad the food was average unlike some in Penzance. Please don’t bother.

Terrible service, incorrect order. Ordered four separate meals and one of them was completely wrong and missing an item. Paid via link sent by text message and driver didn't know we had paid. Once driver was satisfied we had paid, we called to advise of error and was told we got what we ordered. Why would we order a meal that someone didn't like? Was told a manager would phone is to sort the issue out and no one did meaning we paid for a meal we didn't get or could eat. I wouldn't advise ordering from these clowns

Convenient and reliable town centre takeaway. I had a chicken burger (breaded breast fillet) and chips, which was cooked fresh to order while we waited. Nice thin fries, too. Very tasty!

Dreadful chicken burger. Threw straight in bin. But Rami was away on holiday, so not up to usual standard.. chicken was overcooked on outside , under cooked inside. Chips were good.

The portions are small, we ordered a shish kebab mix and were given a little salad and 1 piece of bread for 3 people. I don't recommend this place

Thieves!!!! Made an order for £37 on foodhub. Rami's called me to cancel the order as they had sent the driver home (why accept it then) and have taken the payment anyway. Refuses to investigate and called us liars outright and hid behind his children when we turned up to confront the issue. Will never order from here again. I will be visiting again to chase this stolen money up myself.

Rami makes the best Kebabs, I don't understand any of the negative reviews on here. The lamb is always really good quality, the salad is always fresh. the hot chilli sauce is amazing! They have pride in what they do and are lovely people.

Not very good had a load of black shredded plastic on my pizza

Overcharged me on purpose & had no interest in making it right. Barely any sauce (a sad little skid mark of bbq on a mixed meat and chips) and funky tasting lamb - not the fun kind of funky. Used to enjoy the odd Rami’s kebab, but it’s gone downhill. Rami’s is now just Scammi’s. Be careful they don’t try overcharge you. Not the first kebab place that has a reputation for assuming customers are drunk and trying to scam more money out of them.

I'm a regular customer and I've always found Rami and his staff amazing, made a mistake ordering a pick up instead of delivery, gave them a ring and it was sorted for thank you so much 😀

Waited 2 hours for delivery (which I paid an extra £5 for - I live 5 mins away) I called to see where my order was after an hour and a half to be told they would call the driver and call me back which they never did. Called again after 2 hours and they hung up on me. No delivery and no refund. Shocking service. Avoid at all costs.

This is not a kebab, but meat with salad and almost no bread, i.e. pita bread. The kebab should be wrapped in pita bread.

No one chooses to order from here. You’re back from a night out or similar and it’s luck of the draw as to what is available. And yet despite a very simple menu it’s amazing how utterly abysmal the food can be. We ordered two lamb Shish with salad, and a large chips. Ended up with one lamb shish with salad, one just plain lamb shish and chips that had been cooked so many times they were now brown and dry inside. Biggest waste of £22. It’s really not difficult stuff. I used to run a high end restaurant so know my way around things, and it baffles me that even reading an order is hard enough, let alone serving the frozen chips to be ‘fresh’ Don’t waste your time, get a supermarket pizza instead

Food was cold as we had to wait for my partner to go to the cash point to withdraw £10 for the sake of £00.05 as the very nice lady gave a cost of £23.50 (we had got £23.45 in cash)and the English delivery driver told us the cost was £24.50, yes £00.05p never again, we used to use regularly and would also recommend, not any morethat fool has will cost them much much more than £00.05p

Like a takeaway version of fawlty towers with the most lifeless pair of owners/staff I've ever seen. Bit of advice for them, write stuff down as ordered, learn your own menu and perhaps a basic grasp of English and buy a timer.so you dont incinerate everything. Absolutely dreadful, only saving grace was the pizza was alright, wrong from what we ordered but alright enough to not drive back and return it via the tradesman entrance. Unless your starving and desperate, give it a miss.

Unfortunately I've had my first and last experience of Rami's the fried chicken smelled that rancid that I was almost sick 🤢 when putting it near my mouth due to the smell. I worked in a takeaway for years and have never experienced anything like it. I watched the gentleman microwave a frozen lahmacun then cook it in the pizza oven. Lahmacun should be a soft with a little bit of crunch in the base like a very thin pizza. The one I was given was that hard I almost broke a tooth it was like biting a stone. Such a shame. Is zero stars was a thing I would have to put that

Ordered online, said they delivered but they did not deliver me any food and refused my refund and when I phoned up the resturaunt to get my money back, they laughed at me and started shouting down the phone at me. Don't order here.

If you looking for Halal option in Cornwall, there is a very poor choice. The place is dated and looks like run by 1 man who was locked up in there over 30 years ago...covid and hand sanitiser- they clearly not heard anything about it. They serve kebabs, pizza, fried chicken. Food tasted ok, nothing special compared to London take aways. Kids had lots of fun feeding seagulls with left overs, birds didn't want eat doner meat which made me worried after having a large kebab.....

Scammers. Left waiting hours for an order, then they cancelled it and marked it as delivered. Called them up and complained and they just argued with me, and refused to give me back my money, or any food compensation. Avoid.

Placed order online for delivery, waited the 1 hour 45 minutes that it said it would be which we thought strange for a Monday evening but hey! Then waited some more and it still didn't arrive. Called the shop to be told that the driver didn't want to deliver due to traffic but would call someone else to see if they could deliver. Rami called back, my husband answered the phone then the line went dead. I repeatedly called the shop with no answer so my husband then called to be told almost 3 hours after we placed the order that nothing would be delivered. Absolutely awful customer service!! Would not recommend!!!

Left waiting for a family meal to be delivered for 3 hours before the guy would answer the phone than he says he is disappointed in his driver but admitted he hadn't even made the food This is on a Monday and the guy is blaming trafic and his driver Last time he will see my custom that's for sure

I've had Rami's takeaway since I was a teenager and used to be outstanding. Not eaten takeaways for a few years. Thought we would treat ourselves to a Rami burger! until tonight the burger me and the Mrs had was totally disgusting had a faint smell of out of date meat if you can call it meat that is. It just wasn't edible. Straight in the bin. The most flimsy dried out burger ever! No salad, no sauce. Yuk! Even the kids left their burgers. Oh, I forgot to mention the chips, by far the worst dried out chips ever!! Even vinegar didn't soften them up. I won't even spare a word about the chicken that was originally left-back at the takeaway, so the owner had two trips to make. Well at least the cat was fed. What's happened Rami? The passion dried up? 27 quid down the drain. A rethink is in order.

Anyone that saves someone from a burning building deserves a 5 star review in my opinion...well done

Burger was very disappointing bun was dripping with grease , children’s meals was missing from order , no response from management about this , 1 hour and 30 minute wait for food , my burger had completely the wrong sauce that I had requested. Very overpriced I would not be returning .

Worst pizza I have ever purchased. Base was stale & hard , no taste to the cheese either . My husband had chicken pieces that looked & tasted like no chicken he had ever bought before . Both meals were binned . Very disappointed. Will never go there again

DO NOT BOTHER. Turned up with half the order missing. Couldn’t have been less helpful and blamed us for the missing order. Completely unacceptable behaviour. Rude and hung up the phone on us. Save yourself the hassle and use another takeaway.

In the middle of the night in Penzance, when all the restaurants are closed and all the pubs have stopped serving food, Rami's was there with delicious burgers, fries (chips), kebabs, and pizza until 2AM. Much better than we expected or deserved at such a ridiculously late hour when we were desperate for something, anything to eat!

Terrible service , took money twice as card machine was playing up, then refused to refund 2nd payment when shown bank statement !! Avoid !!!!!

We are staying in a local caravan park and ordered pizzas form here and they were lovely. No complaints at all and the delivery driver was very friendly. I've changed my review from 5 to 3!! We had chicken and pizza tonight and it wasn't great yo to fair which is a shame 😐

Possibly the worst pizza I've ever had. I ordered a lamb donner pizza but it may as well have been a margarita, he was that stingy with the toppings. It would still be the worst margarita I've ever had. Miserable blokes as well, I definitely won't be eating here again.

4 of us found this place tonight. Worst pizza ever, I had vegetarian and my partner ordered a doner pizza, when he asked for jalapenos they said it was extra, so he didn't bother. When my pizza came it had 2 toppings missing, shame they couldn't have told me that before I paid for It and strange they charge you for extra toppings but don't give you a discount for those missing! Oh and he also tried to short change me, good job I checked my change. Also very unfriendly people, avoid this place, I definitely will!!

On the way home from the minack decided to go for a pizza at ramis ".big mistake" Ordered a 9inch donner pizza ."well was lucky if i could see any donner meat on there".and to top it all the base of the pizza was burnt and rock hard . I am a local and will not be returning . If i could i would give if no stars at all .

Poorly cooked chips!!! That hard its actually just cracked my tooth and cut my gum! It was like chewing a rock! I gave up going to this place because the lack of care in the food and Rami him self speaks to you like a moody old teacher!! Havnt bin there for a year and thought I'd give it ago again today and now my tooth hurts 🙈🙈🙈

Chips overdone and the flour for fried chicken was way too salty. However the staff were lovely and the chilli sauce was spot on.

Very friendly staff food was worth the money

Delivered early so not everyone was here to eat it, but still managed to be cold. Disgusting grey looking fried chicken went straight in the bin. Cardboard cold pizza tasted of nothing and looked like it had chunks of catfood on it. Scampi was undercooked and tiny. Chicken nuggets were popcorn chicken sized, undercooked and cold. Chips were rubbery, clammy and cold. Burger was OK, but small. The single worst takeaway I've ever ordered. Will never order from here again. Utterly atrocious.

I don't know how people can complain about Ramis. It's absolutely gorgeous food. The best in Cornwall I'd say. It's the only place I would go for food. Absolutely delicious. I recommend it to everyone.
