This place was BUSY!!! You could tell it’s a neighborhood favorite. We decided to wait to wait for a table. Boy are we glad we did! The ramen dishes were so flavorful. We went to go back later in the week and it looked like they were temporarily closed to mentally regroup. Props to yall and much respect for doing so. 🤍

I came here because the noodles are not Hataka style and are significantly thicker. My friend and I ordered two Pai Dan ramen. However, even though the soup looked very concentrated and thick, the flavor was lacking. It was so plain that, we asked for soy sauce. The noodles were not as good as I expected, if the flour is from Sapporo, it should have more flavor. As a tourist who just visited Fukuoka in Japan, sadly to say this isn't a decent bowl of ramen. The soup base is completely tasteless, the barbecued pork is ok, and the noodles are so numb :( I wanted to order tsukemen, but I saw that the soup at the isolation table was extremely thin, so I couldn't order it. I would like to think it is at the Hong Kong level or even at the London Tenmaru level, but the food is delicious 💀

This is the first time I've ever written a bad review of a restaurant on Google. The service is really really BAD!!! Their menu was a bit strange, and when I couldn't get it back to its original page after I had made my selection, one of the male employee became very impatient. It wasn't very busy when I went to dine as there were still plenty of empty seats but I still waited a long time for my dish. I ended up spending almost half an hour just waiting for a very, very oily ramen noodle. When I was checking out a female clerk forced me to pay for the service in a very rude manner, she kept repeating that I could get better service if I came back here after paying for the service, but that I never wanted to come back to this place again! I ended up refusing to pay for the service and she acted even more unfriendly, I think she was worried I would leave a bad review here. But I still felt the need to post it for more people to see. Trust me if you don't want to waste money as well as be treated rudely don't come to this place, you definitely have better options in Bristol!

I ordered ramen, it was good, and the service throughout was okay, but at the end, there was some disappointment. After I paid and was leaving the restaurant, I was approached by one of the waiters who asked if I had paid for my lunch. It may seem trivial, but it was a bit humiliating, as if I appeared as someone who doesn't pay for their meal. At the very least, the waiter should have checked with his colleague who processed my payment, and then he should have followed me out onto the street.

Not that great. Drinks were nice but that’s about where it ends. Ramen was tiny for the price, did not taste good (although I’m aware this is subjective!) but lacked flavour with cheap luncheon style meat chicken with no flavour. Yakisoba was super sweet, rich, greasy and covered in mayo which added to the richness. Pretty inedible and not tasty at all. Service charge was high for very little service attention Unsure of the authenticity of the food, but from experience the quality of the food here is poor.

Spectacular ramen! Pro: After eating ramen all over Japan for a month, I can say this is the best Ramen I have tried so far in Bristol and I tried it in three other places. It truly reminds me of Japan. The broth is exquisite, the seaweed and pork feel very good quality, and the chicken is infused with a soft ginger touch. Wow! The ambience is also Japanese alike. I am so happy and I tend to be a perfectionist so there you have it. Con: The toilets could be cleaner. Prices are high but IT IS WORTH IT. I will happily pay this price again as long as the quality stays the same.

MORE AT Google

This is a ramen restaurant located in the city center of Bristol. If the place is crowded, especially during holidays, it may be advisable to make a reservation. Now, let's talk about the food. Firstly, it must be acknowledged that the ramen here is incredibly delicious. I believe the most crucial aspect of ramen is the broth, as it reflects the restaurant's dedication to the dish. If the broth is not fresh or lacks richness, it indicates insufficient preparation by the establishment. The tonkotsu broth at Ramen Monster is rich and flavorful, leaving a lingering taste that stays with me even ten minutes after leaving the restaurant. Moving on to the toppings inside the ramen, in addition to the noodles, there are some conventional ingredients such as seaweed and eggs. The noodles are chewy, making it irresistible to take one mouthful after another until the bowl is empty. Apart from ramen, the menu offers various other choices. However, I found the chicken katsu I selected to be quite ordinary, so exploring other options such as side dishes or grilled skewers might be worthwhile. one drawback is that this restaurant doesn't open for business at noon but rather at 5:00 in the afternoon.

We came to the restaurant tonight (12/12/2023) around 6pm. The food was okay but the service was so terrible. The young lady was super nice but the other boy was horrendous. The situation was I asked the young lady for water when she was doing something (just only her around) and the other staff turned up from nowhere and spoke to me "she is doing something, next time ask someone else". You guys think this is the nice way to talk to your customer? He is super awful with everything as you hired the empty-head mannequin. He is the only one reason why I gave you lowest review and you should work on it. I would posted on my social media as well as I have received a very stupid customer with £15 for a bowl of ramen! Nothing brilliant but sufficient to enjoy a decent dinner. I had average wakame sald, takoyaki with probably too much mayonnaise, and a decent bowl of ramen. Left disappointed after coming here for dinner on a saturday evening. Positives: The fried chicken side was great and portion sizes were good. The decor of the restaurant is really nice. Service was incredibly slow and poor. We had a reservation but were left waiting at the door in the cold for 10 minutes as no member of staff came to seat us. One member of our party was left waiting a long time for their ramen while the rest of us had been served, and this was happening to other tables around us too. Sides came out at wildly different times. I ordered the chicken ramen and found it disappointing, with a slightly strange (fishy?) taste. My friends didn’t enjoy their spicy tonkotsu either, it was bland. Overall I cannot recommend based on my experience

WORST SERVICE I’VE EVER SEEN. Don’t go if you don’t want to pay for getting pissed off by the service. There is a waiter (looks like Asian, curly hair, high cheekbones, small eyes) asked me to change to bar table while my friends are just couple of minutes late. I refused because it’s apparently not quite comfortable for two people and I was there early. The waiter *command* me to take a photo of the menu and send it to my friend and asked me to order fast. Some quotation of his own words: “There are other customers that are waiting and can use this table” (am I not a customer that can use this table?) “10 minutes are not a couple of minutes” (when I said my friends will be here in ~10 minutes) “Please take a photo of the menu now and send that to you friend so that you can order now” “We will see how we can accommodate you without affecting other customers” Other waiters (probably manager as well) saw this but not a single “sorry” for what this waiter did. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

Noodles were just alright. Meat was same: just alright but also cold. It was weird ramen had only half of the egg - did the second part drop somewhere? I don't know why this ramen is that expensive and I just don't see where the price is coming from. From the service perspective it was really bad. I asked staff when I've put my order if I can get a bill because I'm in rush. I asked once again when I was going to leave. They bring it to my table and left immediately. I spotted service charge which I wanted to remove. Staff took it and I was waiting additional 5 minutes to adjust the bill. It took longer to pay for the ramen than waiting and eating the ramen.

And found a hair in pad thai along with noodles 🥺😒 we informed the waitress, they didn't react much as it seems like regular thing. Never apologized and took our plates silently. Didn't expected this and left the place disappointed. Will never visit tuk tuck or order a take away, you lost me Tuk Tuck. Definitely need to improve your hygiene standards and servicing skills. Update: Thank you for your reply. However, I must clarify a few points. We politely called the waitress aside, as we didn’t want to disrupt the experience of nearby tables, and informed her about the hair in our Pad Thai. Unfortunately, her response felt robotic, with no genuine apology or regret, as she simply stated, “Do you want a refund or a free meal?” After seeing a hair in our food, it’s natural for anyone to lose their appetite, so we declined both offers. The plates were taken away, and we were left waiting for any acknowledgment, which is a basic aspect of hospitality. Instead, the waitress returned from the kitchen, did not address us, and continued writing on the board. This lack of empathy gave the impression that she didn’t feel accountable for the situation. We understand that the fault likely lies with the kitchen, but as a team, it’s crucial to take responsibility for the overall experience. This feedback isn’t to place blame, but to share our perspective as customers. Not everyone is looking for a refund or a free meal. What we seek is a genuine acknowledgment of the issue and actions that show the experience matters. To us, this encounter felt more like a vending machine transaction than a restaurant experience. We hope this feedback helps improve future interactions for other customers.

Wizzy is providing lunches until it closes on June 22! If you check their Instagram account before you go, you’ll know if there is lunch that day. As for dinner, it is available in two seatings every Friday and Saturday. The hours are incorrect. The lunch timings are roughly 12:30-13:30 but food may run out faster on some days. The lunch box is just £4.5 and you get generous portions and many options, different every day. It’s nourishing and delicious at the same time, honestly the highlight of my days working in the office! The dinner’s portions are huge as well, with so many courses. I’d recommend going there with others, but for lunch, it’s nice to go by yourself as well and have a chat with Wizzy who always has lots of insights to share about food, the environment, and her philosophy!

I went here with a friend for a lunch break while visiting Bristol. It seemed quiet but we didn't realise that there were two other rooms, so it would be great for a group or a large party of people. Service was great, despite the fact that we couldn't use the QR code to order or pay. Staff were really friendly and didn't mind explaining the menu. We both chose the Sunflower bento box which turned out to be delicious. I've had Japanese style food from chain restaurants but this was so much more flavourful and different. I'd definitely go there again the next time I'm in Bristol. As an aside, I love the washbasin in the ladies!!
