Ordered a takeaway 3 different dishes, all looked and tasted the same. Picked up as only 3 mins away and all cold. Spiced poppadom the worst I’ve ever had. First and last time here

Great staff. Very nice building and restaurant, although obviously not allowed to sit and eat, and food was very good.Only issue, and it was slight, is that it is over priced. But Thank-you for the service, and I will use again.ALOT better than the Darjeeling

We’ve been regular customers since they opened, the food is amazing. However.. DO NOT bother with their delivery service unless you are okay waiting TWO HOURS for your food. We gave them the benefit of the doubt and assumed it was just a busy night, but it’s just happened for the second time. 1hr 50 min each time when we live 10 min away. Will never order for delivery again.

The wife and I had been meaning to try this one for a while, given it's near perfect aggregate rating, and that we haven't found "our Indian" since moving to the area. I phoned up at 17:00 and booked a table for two for 19:00 no problem. We were seated quickly, drinks & popadoms ordered and arrived right away. Our waitress was knowledgable; friendly and attentive without being pushy. The menu is decent, with plenty of old favourites and a few surprises, but I wouldn't call it expansive - you may struggle to find something new if you go very regularly. The wife had the "crocodile tears" as a starter, thoroughly enjoyed and said that with a side of rice it would be enough to be a main. I had meat samosas, which were fine. I forget the names of our mains - the wife had a creamy coconut-based curry, I went foe something with lots of coriander and chilli (which was served still sizzling - great stuff!). Naan bread was warm and fluffy, rice was as you'd expect. The price seemed reasonable to us, but we're used to London, so it may seem a little high for those that aren't but that's reflected in the quality of the food. I only had two minor quibbles - they don't do lager on tap, they had plenty of the usual suspects in bottles, but I'd prefer a pint given then option. Second, their heat ratings are a little generous; my main was listed as hot, I would have said it was closer to medium-hot, but I have a pretty high tolerance for spicy food.Overall, very good. You'll be seeing us again!(PS - I've seen several reviews complaining about their experience ordering takeaway from here. The rule of thumb in our house has long been if we're ordering curry for delivery, we scale back our expectations by 25%, it really does lose something when it's not served straight out of the kitchen, and it doesn't seem fair to mark the restaurant down for that!)

I have ordered food from here a few times. Food is usually pretty good but seems to be going downhill. One order never made it to us although we were charged for it on a previous day. I had to go through the third party online order company get a refund. This evening we made an order and some of the order wasn’t delivered, after complaining by phone the food turned up 20 minutes later once we had finished the food that was delivered at first. We also found a hair in the curry when eating it. It put us off the rest of the meal. We won’t be using this place again.

Well. I would be embarrassed to own such a place. Disgusting. We waited for 1 hour to get our entree of onion bhaji. They decided to tell us after one hour they don’t have any and gave us frozen samosas instead. Yum yum.20 minuted later our mains came out. My brother in law got a garlic naan with beef in the middle. He is a Hindu and isn’t allowed to eat it. After 2 hours we asked the manager To come and I told him the situation. His response was “well... the food is here now”. We walked out and refused to pay. He ran out to us, and said it’s all the waitresses fault. She was the only one doing her job! The manager is a joke and I will never come back here ever again

Heard very good things about the restaurant so we decided to order a takeaway meal with the view that if it met the recommendations we had been given we would visit for a full evening meal with friends. The person taking our order was most helpful. We ordered a varied and comprehensive selection from the menu and was delighted with everything that came. Having requested delivery, we were informed it would be about 40 mins. Although it was almost just over an hour to actually arriving, it was well worth the wait. The food was excellent and we will certainly visit the restaurant soon. No hesitation in passing the recommendation on.

Having visited many Indian restaurants throughout the U.K., Ireland and Spain this is up there with the very best. Food delicious and friendly staff. Under the current Covid19 situation they have all the precautions in place with sanitizer at every table. Highly recommended we will return when in Huntingdon in the future.

We've eaten here a number of times and haven't ever been disappointed. The food is amazing - tastes really fresh and the flavours are amazing. Definitely worth eating here if you're in the area - the best place for curry locally.

Desperate for a carry out whilst under lockdown and was pretty pleased to find Rajpoot open. We have been here a few times,its the best curry house around without a doubt. Everything is fantastic, speed, service, quality, quantity the lot. Go try it, you wont be disappointed.

Previously had very good experience with takeaway but last night was terrible, I fully understand the circumstances we are all going through at the minute?We ordered our food around half past five and it stated food would be 45 mins within 20 mins we get a call saying food was running late and would be another 45 mins after an hour i called the number and no answer so i waited another 10 mins and called again still no answer, after 2 and half hours our food came it was cold but we was so hungry we still had the food but we didn’t even get an apology or anything ? Such a shame we will not be using this service again.

I have lived in Huntingdon about a week now and I have been reading reviews ready for our 1st takeaway. Rajpoot did not disappoint. I have have an odd curry I like to order. While ordering on the phone, a quick check with the chef and they said it wouldn’t be a problem to make me a chicken tikka masala balti. 20 mins later we walked to collect it. While I paid the bar man gave me and my bf a large cobra each for free which was a nice surprise. Once home, pilau rice, 2 fluffy naans, 2 crispy onion bahjis and 5 big crispy pakoras, a chicken balti and my CTMB, all were amazing. My CTMB was the best I’ve ever had. We both agreed that this is now our curry house and we won’t be bothering to try the others in town. It was that good. Can’t wait to eat in the restaurant once the lockdown is lifted.

Our 2nd visit to Rajpoot and very impressed yet again. The food is delicious with wonderful flavours. The staff are very attentive and friendly creating a marvelous atmosphere. The Chef Raj is very welcoming and performs wonders with the flavours he creates. We will become regular visitors.

A group of us celebrated my friends 50th birthday at The Rajpoot after work and we could not have chosen a better place. The restaurant was fashionably decorated and spacious with staff eager to make us comfortable. The food was outstanding and so fresh and the dishes cooked to perfection with different spices making every dish distinctive in their own right. I thought because there were quite a few of us that we would have to have waited a bit longer than usual but this was not the case as the service was second to none. Shumz and the staff were so friendly even the chef came out to greet the customers and have a chat. I know this will be a regular place for us and look forward to going back again soon.Thank you Rajpoot and we will see you soon and that’s a promise!

My boyfriend and I had a beautiful meal on Valentines Day. The food and service was first class, we will definitely be back

Not familiar with the area and visited as recommended by excellent Trip adviser reviews. Was not disappointed, very friendly welcome with a smart but relaxed atmosphere. Both Starter and Main courses were excellent and delicious. Very highly recommended.

Visited due to reviews on Tripadvisor and it lived up to the praise others have given it. Ambience was very relaxed, staff were welcoming and food was excellent. We had mixed starters, a bhuna and biryani with sag paneer all of which were delicious. Well worth the money and will definitely visit again. Very much recommended.

Have been to 12 restaurants in the area in the three weeks I’ve been here...this was the best. Location: fairly easy to find. It had a car park, though I didn’t know it and parked at Sainsburys. Entry is open and lovely. Not a huge amount of styling in the restaurant proper, but the fresh flowers on the tables made me smile after a rough workday. Staff: friendly, cordial, willing to give suggestions, honestly he just felt kind. He apologized for slow service as he was alone, but his explanation of why made me like the place more. Food: delicious. My colleague and I ordered lamb and chicken dishes, with mushroom rice, bhindi bhaji, naan, and crocodile tears. Most excellent. Recommend unless you are of huge appetite that you split a rice and naan order...it is plenty. Price: higher than other places—our meal with starter, two dishes, rice, naan, and a beer was £60. I feel it was worth it. We will be returning soon.

We were a party of over 60 people and received excellent service, food, staff and general hospitality. This was my first visit to Rajpoot and will certainly not be the last!

Very nice building but no atmosphere in restaurant to much light unprofessional conversation by staff in the background food was nice but a bit on the dry side the search for a good India in the local area goes on!!

We visited on New Years Eve, table booked for 7pm. The staff, food, atmosphere, everything was excellent. Couldn't fault a thing. Go on, give it a try, you will be pleasantly surprised!

4 of us visited for the first time last night and were not disappointed. The food was well presented, hot and flavorsome. The staff were very attentive. All in all we had a lovely relaxing evening and will definitely be returning.

Visited for the first time food was very tasty and different,drinks took some time to arrive,The only thing I could fault was that the onion barges were served without any form of salad which you normally have,and our dirty plates were taken away whilst our friends were still eating and we were given the warm hand wipes,but well worth a visit lots of different choices on the menu.

Decided to visit here whilst on a training course with work. Both my colleague and I couldn't believe how nice the food was, it was an absolute delight to eat.

In a lovely old building at the end of the High Street, the restaurant proved to be a refreshing change from the usual tired decor and stern waiters. The waiting staff, male and female, were courteous, attentive and smartly dressed. The food well cooked, the menu varied and the tastes delicious. Just a good Indian restaurant.

I visited on the way down from a long trip. The service was courteous and there is on site parking. The food was excellent with a good range of styles of sub continental cuisine.

My husband and I came here with friends last night and it was beautiful the best curry weve had you will not be disappointed the service is fantastic, the food is out of this world the naan best was so fresh and fluffy its mouth watering. They have even said they can take larger parties like hen dos, parties etc. So happy we came across this amazing restaurant. Thank you.

We went to the Rajpoot twice last week. Not only was the food amazing as always but the service was fantastic as well.

So what do you say when the meal is everything you were hoping for and a whole lot more!!! From the moment we walked through the door it was like being home....the staff is amazing (especially Shumz) and the entire experience was all you could want in a restaurant. We had appetizers of the curry sampler and naan (garlic and the sweet). I have to say I was jealous of the sweet naan as I had never had it and it was delicious. The curry sampler was very good and was a hint of what was to come. For mains I had the Tawa Shashlik Balti Chicken which was amazing and not very spicy (I only wanted a bit of spice this night and Shurmz was perfect in his call. All of our mains were delicious and were exactly as advertised on level of spice....there was literally not an ounce of food left on the table when we were done. This was the Indian meal we were hoping to have and we were not disappointed. Our server was one of the highlights of the meal as well...very attentive, always knew about the items we were asking about and was a joy to work with. We had such a great experience...would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone....oh and they have a full bar and the knowledge to use is!!!

On a quiet Thursday night so the restaurant didn’t have loads of people in it. The service was excellent though and the food was fantastic. Good portions and every dish was very tasty. My first time here but I’ll definitely come back.

Work friends and I were looking for a local Indian restaurant to dine in and we’re so glad we found this place. The restaurant itself was cosy and well presented. The staff were attentive and polite. Shout out to Shroom who was great! The food was delicious and fresh. Very authentic and full of flavour. The portion size was large and fantastic value for money. I couldn’t recommend this place enough. 5*

Visited here after finding it on Trip Advisor and needing somewhere to eat. A large group of us attended and the service was great, and the food even better. We had the Wednesday special, which was fantastic value for money and easily one of the best curries I’ve has. If I’m ever in the area again, will not hesitate to pop in again.

First visit for my family and it was brilliant. Friendly and attentive staff and smart but welcoming decor. The food is delicious. We’ve got loads of Indian restaurants, but this is different. At last we have one offering flavour but with loads more subtlety so you can actually taste the different spices. I don’t know if ‘crocodile tears’ is their invention but i tried it and loved it!

We met friends here as they had had a recommendation and it is half way between our respective homes.

We visited whilst on holiday from Devon, the best decision of the week. Staff were friendly, atmosphere was good, plenty of parking, but more importantly absolutely fantastic food. We had wonderfully spiced starters not too hot but full of flavour, then I had a dish made specifically for me by the Chef/Patron and my husband had the Garlic Chilli Lamb which was medium hot and meltingly tender and tasty. The special rice is also delicious. Unfortunately the owner will not move his restaurant to Devon and a 5 hour trip is a little excessive for an evening out but not out of the question. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

They’re are 3 Indian restaurants in Huntingdon as far as we are aware. We were recommended a different one but thought we would try the new one. The service and food here is excellent. Think of Indian food heaven and this is it.

Meal for four , starters pakoras and chat were excellent . Then mains arrived . Jalfrezi was voted as the best ever by a long term curry fan.. the crocodile tears were wonderful ,,, only mumble was the special fried rice had egg in it and as one of our party had an egg allergy meant she couldn’t eat it.. however there was enough Nan etc to fill

Ok so Raj from the Darjeeling over the road (which is now appalling under its new management) now runs this place as his own restaurant and the quality of the food is absolutely outstanding.... So forget the Darjeeling and come to the Rajpooth... They’re now a million miles apart when it come to quality and the Rajpoot is by far and away the best.... This is a genuine revue from a regular business user... I’ve nothing else to add....

Good Indian restaurants are not easy to find. This is a fantastic Indian. Good fresh food every time. Everything is made fresh and it’s clear to see. Give this place a go. You won’t be disappointed!!

Visited early on a Sunday evening as in the vicinity for Huntingdon races the following day and had not tried this recently opened restaurant before. Obligatory poppadoms and chutneys followed by Lamb Tikka starter and house speciality of Chicken Tawa Shashlik Jalfrezi, Pulau Rice and Garlic Naan Bread as main course. The food was excellent and could have gained a five star rating except after being presented the menu the waiter could not be bothered to walk over and take the order but stood at the bar till instead to take my order which I shouted over. It would also be good if the place had draught beer available rather than just bottled.

Visited Rajpoot with former work colleges for a curry and catch-up. This was the first time I had visited, in the past we’ve used another local establishment. The food was fantastic and filling, combined with friendly professional service. The restaurant was well presented and has ample parking outside, away from the street. We will be returning.

We only had twonegatives about the restaurant. THe staff are great, and familiar from over the road, the menu is as always has a great choice and the kitchen is willing to make you anything which isnt on the menu (within reasonable requests) we chose a peshwari chapati as we find it lighter than a naan bread and wanted chana sag instead or chana masala and our requests were granted.

Tonight was the first time myself and my friends had visited Rajpoot & we weren't disappointed. Fabulous building, parking onsite, friendly staff and amazing food. Thank you to all the staff for a lovely time. We will be back.

Visited the Rajpoot for the third time since December and every time the food has been absolutely superb in every aspect from the food itself to the wonderful and attentive service and in a great looking restaurant with a large free car park. It is a real treat to have Raj back in Huntingdon and his first class restaurant and staff. The Rajpoot is without doubt the best Indian/Bangladesh restaurant in Huntingdon.Keep up the great work Raj and your brilliant team.

Just visiting the area on business and tried rajoots based on TA reviews. It was quiet - it's a Wednesday after all! - but the atmosphere was welcoming. They were offering a special deal on Wednesdays for around £17, which included poppadoms, starter, main, side and rice/naan. I opted for the onion bajee, lamb jalfrezi and tika daal with peswari naan - all of which was delicious. However, next time I'd opt for one of the house specialities, which looked more sophisticated and exciting, and worth the little bit extra. All in all, very good and I hope they do well - they've only been open 2 month.

We had a selection of dishes, and they were all excellent. Further, they all tasted different, not simply a variation on a theme. Thoroughly recommended. We all loved it and left saying, “If only we lived locally!” Thank you and all the best for the future.

To all my Indian food lovers: RAJPOOT. A brand new restaurant, on the High Street, in Huntingdon & it’s AMAZING. We had poppadom/dips, starters, mains, sides, rice, & naan...all delicious. My 15m old agrees & the staff were wonderful with him. (They deliver too!)

Went to Rajpoot on a very cold sleety Tuesday evening and was very pleased to be welcomed by such friendly staff. Food was delicious, restaurant warm and comfortable and the staff were very friendly - just the right amount of attention - not hovering when you were chatting but appeared the moment you wanted them. Will definitely return soon.

Four of us had a meal at Rajpool last night. There was a wide choice of dishes, some that we had never seen on the menu of any Indian restaurant that we had visited in the past. The food was beautifully presented and hot. The staff were very helpful but not intrusive and asked for feedback on the dishes ordered. The food may be a little more expensive than the average Indian restaurant but we felt that the whole experience was worth it. We are already planning out next visit.

Went to this restaurant for the first time yesterday for a birthday meal. The food was excellent and good value. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The building is lovely and lots of free parking. We’d recommend the restaurant for a good meal on a Saturday night.

A friend suggested we try this new Indian so we booked a table got there at 7.00 we were the only one's there very nice looking but what have we done the owner welcomed us showed us to our table with in half an hour it was buzzing the waiters could not have been better great service the meals were above excellent £17.90 for there special starter main and side dishes with complimentary drinks to finish can't wait to go back one of the best Indian restaurant I've been too.

First visit to this newly opened Indian restaurant in central Huntingdon . Delicious food, not too rich or creamy, fresh and spicy, just right. Decor contemporary and fresh. Friendly good service. Offered free drink, nice gesture. Worth a visit, we will go back.

We'll disappointed we were not. Curry fantastic! Flavour bang on! Plenty chicken oh yes! Courtesy as always courtesy and friendly. Love the Rajpoot for tradition, flavour and great service. Yum yum eeeee!!!!!! We will regain our regular status now Raj is back in town, been trying other local curry houses since April and nothing beats the flavour of the Rajpoot. I had my usual chicken dansak and husband had chicken Madras, Bombay spuds, keema nan, onion salad and pop's with two rice for £28! My new favourite takeaway in Huntingdon. This is the best Indian I have had in 2018 and it's New Year's Eve right now.

My wife and I visited this evening. Wow! Fantastic, tasty, excellent food, you will not find an Indian Restaurant as nice as this anywhere, period. We has chicken vindaloo and all we can say is the chicken just melted in your mouth, lean, tender wonderfully cooked. The vindaloo itself has so much flavour, thick and mouth watering. Even the poppadoms with Indian Onion Salad/Chutney/Dips had a really nice flavour. The service was excellent too, with warm, friendly people who made us feel special and welcome. Thank you Rajpoot, we really enjoyed the evening and will be back with friends and family very soon.. Dean.

This was our first visit to this restaurant. Set back from the High Street, it has free parking outside, lovely venue next to wine bar. Food 5* quality, great family meal. Excellent value and will definitely return. Clearly the best Huntingdon has to offer.

I always eat the same thing when I go for a curry mainly because I like what I order and I can also compare and contrast.

Food was so good, great to have Raj back cooking, resturant is so welcoming, looking forward to going next week again.
