Cheerful service, amazing food. Tandoori chicken fresh and just right. Garlic nan baked to perfection. Staff could not have been more accommodating. Friendly, chill place.

Went on a recommendation from family. Really enjoyed the depth of flavour to all the foods we ate. I liked that is had all the classics but also some specials I'd not seen before. Was good to have a couple of those. Staff were lovely too but didn't hover, they checked we were doing ok while letting us enjoy the meal. It is bring your own booze, the corner shop two doors down has a good selection. They happily provided glasses etc. Would happily go again.

AVOID - RATS IN KITCHEN! I was bitterly disgusted after dining at ‘Raj Pavillions, Filton’. From the outside, I thought this looked clean and approachable - BOY WAS I WRONG. I saw two large rats scurrying around the double doors in the kitchen area. When I raised my concern to the older gentleman waiter with slick back hair - He told me I was “simply imagining things” and laughed at me. AVOID THIS RESTAURANT AT ALL COSTS! THE FOOD HYGIENE RATING SAYS A LOT & THIS PLACE SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN!

Love the Raj, best curry in Bristol!! The food is wonderful, our favourites are the passanda, desi (very spicy), and biryani. We’ve been here countless times and miss it now we no longer live in Bristol! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Excellent place for Indian food. It is Halal and they do not sell alcohol. You can bring your own for those who need to consume EtOH.

La comida era muy agradable, aunque si te gusta la especia te sugiero pedir que la pongas más picante ya que la Madrás no era picante, aunque tenía un poco de sabor. El restaurante estaba relativamente vacío cuando llegamos allí, y pedimos un poco de música para mejorar un poco el ambiente, dijeron que sí y sin embargo no se tocó música en toda la noche. Nuestra reserva fue a las 8 de la tarde, 4 de nosotros llegamos allí a las 8 y pedimos poppadoms para comer mientras esperábamos a nuestro otro amigo, que llegó allí a las 8 : 15 . Durante este tiempo nos preguntaron si estábamos listos para pedir 6 veces, apresurándonos cuando les dijimos que nuestro amigo estaba en camino allí en un Uber y les dijimos que estábamos listos para pedir. Traer su propia cerveza es una buena premisa, aunque como intentamos terminar nuestra cerveza que tomamos mientras estuvimos allí, nos dijeron 5 minutos después de terminar nuestra comida, a las 9 : 30 (dice que cierra a las 11 ) que tuvimos que levantarnos e irnos, tuvimos que dejar el resto de nuestras pintas allí y accidentalmente dejamos nuestras latas ahí dentro, que al regresar 30 segundos después dijeron que habían sido envasadas. Una pena como parece un buen restaurante, pero conseguir apresurarse solo porque parecía una noche tranquila fue bastante frustrante.

Food was really nice, although if you like spice I would suggest asking to get it spicier as the Madras wasn’t spicy, although had a bit of flavour. The restaurant was relatively empty when we got there, and we asked for a bit of music to improve the atmosphere a bit, they said yes and yet no music was played the whole night. Our booking was at 8pm, 4 of us got there at 8 and ordered poppadoms to eat while we waited for our other friend, who got there at 8:15. During this time they asked us if we were ready to order 6 times, rushing us when we told them our friend was on his way there in an Uber and we would let them know we were ready to order. Bring your own beer is a good premise, although as we tried finishing our beer that we had while being there, we were told 5 minutes after finishing our meal, at 9:30 (says it shuts at 11) that we had to get up and go, had to leave the rest of our pints there and accidentally left our cans in there, which when returned 30 seconds later they said had been binned. A shame as seems a nice restaurant but getting rushed around just because it seemed a quiet night was quite frustrating.

Salik made us feel very welcome tonight. We have been coming for years since we came to Bristol for uni. Food is at a very good price, quick service. The taste of the food is lovely! Made with care and amazing service this place is our little secret ! Also bring your own booze (fab for birthdays/ celebration)

We were a large party of over 40 people which Raj Pavilions coped with very well. The service was friendly and efficient. The food was good and plentiful.

Absolutely fantastic experience! This is now one of our favorite places. The chefs at this restaurant are true culinary artists, creating dishes that are bursting with authentic flavors. Each meal we tried was delicious and perfectly spiced. The staff is friendly, attentive, and made our dining experience even more enjoyable. Many thanks to Mr. Selik, who took care of us while we were waiting for our orders. We highly recommend this place to anyone!

Had a Chicken Bhuna, Pilau Rice, Peshwari Naan and 2 Poppadoms… ended up being £19 which felt quite expensive l really. Food tasted nice overall, but Bhuna was quite mild. Could’ve done with some background music inside the restaurant. Overall it was okay but far from the best I’ve had, it’s also BYOB

Esto solía ser uno de nuestros favoritos y nos preguntamos por qué no lo hemos sido durante un tiempo. Nueva decoración y disposición, pero feliz de ver el mismo alto nivel de comida. El alcohol es ahora BYO, lo que no es un problema. El personal es amable y a las 6 : 30 un martes por la noche hizo frente bien como el restaurante se puso más ocupado. Los baki de cebolla son frescos, puré de gambas delicioso. Pollo jalfrezi picante y delicioso. Saag de pollo excelente.

Had a takeaway from here last night. Wasn’t good. The curry’s (korma/tikka masala) were average and the naan’s were cold, dry and stale. Woke up in the middle of the night not feeling good with reflux (i have never suffered with this before). Have been on and off the toilet since. Have to say we won’t using this restaurant again.

Very good food here, been several times and it has been constantly excellent. It is bring your own alcohol with an off-licence a couple of doors apart.

We have ordered chicken tikka and paneer tikka masala two days before.but unfortunately the food we got,one of the worst and it tastes like beetroot kichadi.totally disappointed.

Came for a friend’s birthday for a relaxed evening celebrating. The food was absolutely delicious, so much so I ordered a take away from the same restaurant the following week as I was craving it so much. The restaurant did feel a little clinical and the welcome could have been a bit warmer. But, would come again.

Had a great meal at this restaurant, it doesn't have a alcohol licence, so it's bring your own, which many people did. I ate early, about 6pm, good time to go, as it was empty, well worth a visit.

Food was great but the venue was freezing. I kept my coat on for the duration of the dinner and by the time I was 3/4 finished with my meal, my food got cold. Will come back from spring but will definitely not be coming here during the winter again which is a shame. They also had a broken card machine so had to pay in cash but they didn’t tell us until after we ate our food. It would’ve been helpful to know beforehand. I would just order takeaway from here instead of eating in.

The food is fabulous! It always has been in fairness. Parking is a bit limited around the restaurant, but a bit of nosing around and you'll be fine. BYOB, but with a supermarket next door, this is no problem at all. Reasonably priced and fantastic. Couldn't recommend enough.

Onion barjies just cumbled like dried biscuits. King prawn masala. 5 king prawns all still in shell. Filthy jop separating to eat. Couldn't pick them

Food and service very good. Only criticism was that the food could have been hotter, temperature-wise. I had the Lamb Korma, with Peshwari Naan and Mushroom Rice. All really delicious. As I say, shame it wasn't hotter, especially as it was so cold outside

Wow!! Went here for the first time yesterday and the food was sooooo tastey soo good, cooked well not oven done, just perfect. The business owner was pleasent and the worker was very happy, smiley and kind. I am impressed with the standards of the whole place and will sure to come back soon. Spot on!

Brilliant restaurant. 10 of us visited after a golf day. Food was fantastic, a few extras free of charge and wonderful people serving us and having a good old chat. It's a cracking vindaloo that is served up.

What a change from your average Indian restaurant; plenty of space, light enough to read or see your food. But it appears to have had a revamp. It feels less like and Indian restaurant, and now more like a faster food outlet. Gone are the table cloths, plushness that you find in traditional Indian restaurants. The food is still good and plentiful, although it feels like the chef has ramped up the heat. For our visit, it was very noisy ( Saturday night) and not all tables taken. The cacophony of noise, appears to have come with the loss of soft furnishings typical of an Indian restaurant. For those keen for a good conversation over a good meal, you'll either need to sign, text or come on a different day.

food was amazing, good prices too i absolutely loved it here and will be going back, customer service was great staff were super friendly, a rice was forgotten when our order was brought out but the staff were extremely apologetic and removed it from my bill without any problems plus they were quite busy so it’s understandable and one rice ended up being enough for me and my partner. they also have the nicest peshwari naan i’ve ever eaten i can’t wait to come back!

If you are ordering Biriyani then PLEASE DON'T DO IT from here. It's not chicken biriyani it was veg pulao with some chicken pieces. Chicken biriyani has, green peas, chick peas and provided cabbage curry with potato as side gravy. PATHETIC biriyani experience.

Food was OK. The only issue is, you have to take your own alcohol, that's OK if your told when booking.

Excellent food and good service. Remember it's Bring Your Own if you want to have beer, wine, etc. and there are plenty of shops nearby to get them if you need to.

Lovely Interior very inviting and clean, staff friendly and welcoming, remember the owner who use to be there with his dad now he owns it, food was great quality and good value for money, even had 10% discount as taking away can't wait to come back and eat the lovely restaurant, would recommend it to anyone, the garlic fried rice was amazing.

I’ve been a couple of times with friends. It is a perfectly good English Indian restaurant. Personally I don’t consider it exceptional. My biggest problem is that it is too loud. It is popular and there is nothing in the building to absorb sound so it is just too loud. It would benefit from some soft wall hangings or acoustic panels just to reduce the noise. They don’t sell alcohol but they are very happy for you to bring your own (no corkage charge).

Order was missing a naan bread and they sent me lamb instead of chicken. The lamb looked like the oiliest curry I’ve ever seen. They were no help on the phone and neither were deliveroo. Paid £6 to have food delivered that was missing items and I can’t eat.

We have enjoyed our visits here previously, but this time was not so good. The food itself was fine, but the presentation was not so good and the service was brusque. They tell you to bring your drinks as they do not have a licence which is ok but when we asked for ice for our drinks they didn’t have any or couldn’t be bothered to get it. Everyone has ice! I think they are taking their customers for granted and I will be looking to try other restaurants in future.

Beautiful, beautiful food! Was staying in Bristol overnight, and fancied a curry. I am so glad I decided to come here. The service was excellent from the moment I walked in. The food was outstanding. The ambience for a week night was perfect. Clean and tidy restaurant. Been in business 50 years under the same family, according to the owner I spoke with. Fantastic and I would whole heartedly recommended this curry house if you are staying in or around this part of Bristol. I'd be ordering here regularly if I lived there. Five stars all around.

Food was 'meh'. I usually would go to the Tamarind in Downend and it is a different league. The service was dreadful and the food was inoffensive and edible. The dansak I had tasted ok, but nothing like a dansak

Went for a meal last Friday - really helpful waiters advised and we weren’t disappointed - delicious curry, really fresh naan etc. Highly recommend.

First date night in quite a while and we were so nicely surprised. The staff here were so friendly, everything was immaculate, the food supurb and portions even filled my 6ft 3 dustbin of a husband! We had a little table at the back, on closer inspection it turns out the wall at the back is hand painted by a local graffiti artist. So very Bristol! Well done Raj, worth venturing out for x (food pic mid service... V good sized portions!)

Booked table for 8pm, waited 45 minutes, still waiting for table, gave up and got a takeaway elsewhere. No apologies, never again.

My favourite curry house in Tunbridge wells, we’re never disappointed eating in or getting a takeaway. Chicken makhoni and chicken badhani are must orders.

Little gem in Horfield. Fantastic for eating in with BYO or for takeaway. Tonight was dine in sampling many beautiful dishes with friends, lovely menu, saag paneer was outstanding! Service was impeccable 👌 Thank you for a lovely evening!

Visited for a family birthday. Arrived on time and shown to table within 10 mins. it was BYO alcohol which we did and after a while with no one coming to see us, had to ask for glasses & ordered poppadoms at this point. They came with pickles etc, some were burnt and pickles very messy. Starters were around half hour later, tikka dry and had to ask for raita. Waiter cleared table placing dirty plates from other tables on ours and piled ours on top! Mains still hadn’t came by 9 and we asked to cancel order, they said it was on its way and they would take money off bill (which they did). However this wasn’t the point, it we were extremely disappointed at the service and quality of the food. Felt like a canteen rather than a lovely restaurant.

Sadly the quality of the food has dropped significantly over the last two years. Changes to staff and management haven't helped. Not the restaurant it was before the pandemic. Service is still good and friendly, but dishes are swimming in oil. Even the rice dishes are bathed in oil. Flavours sadly seem to be a second thought, with ingredients not being cooked properly to infuse well. Meat quality too seems to have suffered, more mutton than lamb. Hopefully this will come back round. There are new restaurants in the area taking much more pride in what they provide. Will leave this for a good few months before returning.

I'm new to the area and the gentleman behind the counter was so accommodating and friendly. He even gave me a discount and free poppadoms and chutney. Very kind. I must say it was probably the best curry I've ever had. Highly recommend.

Attended raj pavilions with friends , i have to say i am disappointed . The service is not warm and felt rushed even though the place was half full . The food felt bland and the curries which turned up all felt like they were from the same sauce mix … it was not well received across the table had a bonus of BYOB . Bristol has a crowded market of fantastic Indians this does not fall into that category i will not be returning

Had a takeaway for 4 people from here and unfortunately the curries were overly greasy, and the meat was tastless and dry.

I had a meal at the Raj Pavilliansthis evening with a few mates. Firstly, what a lovely, smart place with excellent, modern decor. The chap that served us was the most polite person you could wish to meet and nothing was too much trouble. The food is without doubt the best quality Indian food I have ever tasted and I told him so. It was also very reasonably priced (poppadoms/dips, main meat dish, rice, side and nann for £20 per head)& I never write reviews but I really thought this place deserved it so here I am ! P.s. an added bonus is its a bring your own on the booze 😁 Fantastic ! Highly recommenced 👍

Asked for a vegan curry for the misses. She said it smelt off and didn’t want it so I had it for lunch a couple of days later and while I was eating, I chewed down on an animal bone!! I’m mostly vegetarian but if she had eaten this she would have been horrified and the fact it smelt off to her is a real indicator that this was likely cooked with meat and not a small amount that just ‘fell in’. That is not acceptable when telling people it is a vegetarian/vegan curry.

I had a lovely meal, great service, and our waiter Salik was very attentive and made us feel so welcome.

What a let down .No atmosphere and mediocre food just full of onions . One staff member was stood eating food begins the counter in full view then proceeded to spit the food from his mouth into a bin .Absolutely disgusting and never will we return .

Rude service with staff being dismissive. Food was bland, overall not worth it.

Such a shame that a very good meal was spoilt by being asked to move by a member of staff. I was sitting next to my partner instead of facing him when another table behind me was put in use. Despite plenty of room between the tables and the other couple not bothered, I was asked to move in the middle of my dinner. Needless to say we shall not visit again which is a pity as the food was excellent. Along with this incident the music was far too loud and inappropriate for a restaurant. A gym would have benefited from it.

Food is not fresh at all, Currys were all cold they had to go re heat them up. The rice was stone cold. This place is terrible. Customer service is a joke. The staff are a joke. I wouldnt recommend this place at all if your looking for a proper indian.
