I’ve been using the since the 1980’s, every single time the food has been great. They’ve never got my order wrong and it’s always hot and very tasty. It’s a special advent for our family to have a Chinese meal and I’ve tried everyone in Worcester and my favourite is the Rainbow. The service is fabulous and our customer expectations have never been let down. Keep the good work up!👍

I have been cooking fried rice for 23 years, what i received was unbelievably disgusting, stodgy dripping with fat and clumped? Now the pork balls were actually the same size as popcorn chicken? i would like to make a suggestion and have them renamed gristle lumps and it was all topped off with sweet and sour sauce which had the same consistency of water, WTF! £8.50? what a hilariously bad joke. Anyway, to many people including friends have reported bad experiences with this place after it was refurbished and taken over. IT NEEDS SHUTTING DOWN. Avoid at all costs.

It all started with the strangest service with a girl taking our order then leaving without returning. Then the sound of microwaves being used began in the kitchen. The Yuk Sung we threw out without eating as it was absolutely disgusting - It tasted like pork fat and salt. The vegetable chow mein was watery and the only real taste was salt and it had mainly mushrooms chopped in half thrown in. The batter on Sweet and sour chicken balls were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, sauce was watered down too. The chicken was questionable. I would recommend avoiding and go somewhere else. It wasn't worth the wait or the money paid. Worst meal I've had in a long time by far.

We used this takeaway once a week until it changed hands a few years ago and never had a bad meal. Since then i've used it maybe 2/3 times and can say after tonight i definitely won't be going back. Very bland food, missing items and considering i only live opposite our food was stone cold after the 30 seconds it took me to walk home. Having experienced this in the past i thought tonight as it was raining i'll give it one last go. Big mistake a simple order took forever. Bloody disgusting. Whilst i was there several orders were brought back for being wrong too and missing items

The chicken chow mien and pancake rolls were excellent, but are difficult to get wrong. The sweet and sour chicken balls were over cooked, but better than the previous time when the batter was raw. Prawn crackers are standard. It’s an average Chinese takeaway. Nothing exciting

Worst takeaway I’ve ever had. Ordered Yuk Sung among other items. Not like anything I’ve ever had. When rang to challenge was told that’s how we do it. Apart from that the food was tasteless. Even the pancakes for the crisp or not so crispy duck came in a sealed pack. Horrible meal. Save your money

Ordered by takeaway with the girl at the desk at 5:50, popped to chip shop and came back and asked if my order was ready, she said no, which was fine. 10 mins later, she says someone else has taken your order and laughs!!!!! Not good customer service skills at all. She then said they could remake it, but didn’t know our order so I had to tell it again, 20 mins wait, check where our order is, it will be 5 mins at 6:45, we finally left with our Chinese!! Would not return!!! And my mum found a hair in her Cantonese chicken!!! Ruined our evening and customer service zero!!!

We have recently moved into a new house round the corner and have tried the Chinese several times, the service is normally good. However, my last experience has left me angry and disappointed. We placed our food order over the phone and walked round to collect. After returning home with the takeaway we noticed we were missing 2dishes. Two dishes we had paid for. I rang and told them what had happened and they advised us to come back and the dishes will be done in 5 minutes, sadly this was not the case. I sat waiting for 15 minutes with not acknowledgement from the staff. So after asking several times whether the dishes were ready yet, they hadn't even started to cook them and demanded that we pay for the food again. They accused us of lying and were adamant that they packed the two missing dishes. At this point I was getting very frustrated as my money had been taken from me with nothing in return, whilst I had 8 guest sat waiting at home for the food. 3 members of the kitchen staff then came out and accused me of lying claiming the food was definitely packed. Well if that was the case, why would I have wasted my time and energy walking round to collect something I already have? All I wanted was either my food or the money back, I left with nothing. I WILL NEVER RETURN and will definitely not recommend TheRainbow takeaway to anyone I know. After all, they were happy to take my money but not to give me what I had paid for.

Let's be honest. I think we were spoiled when Paul owned The Rainbow. He was a fantastic chef and good at the front of house customer facing part too. Then he sold up and everything changed. The quality of food appeared to decline. But it's a bit like the Fergie effect at Manchester United. WHOEVER followed was destined to be compared unfavourably compared to who was there before. The owners gave the place a much needed facelift. I'm not sure what they were going for but the new look would not look out of place in Amsterdam's red light area. I'm not suggesting that it looks bad. Just unusual. Anyway, shall i get to the point? The food seems to have got better just lately. I had a singapore chow mein (no prawns) and it was nice. In fact i returned for another a week or so later. Still not like Paul did it but what can you do. I did hear a rumour that Paul was cooking at the chinese in Malvern Link but he certainly wasn't when i visited.

This is the third time I have visited Rainbow and by far the best Chinese takeaway in the area. Our local ones are too greasy, slow serving and lack meat but it’s well worth a short trip in the car. Freshly cooked, not greasy, generous portions and speedy service. So tasty 😋. Do Thai dishes too. Will be our local Chinese takeaway from now on. Great choice and value for money. A great find!

Was on a camping trip in worcester and fancied a chinese takeaway this was the nearest one. It was busy which is always a good sign, very reasonably priced and despite what the other reviews say on here we thought it was delicious

Had been a very happy customer of the Rainbow for many years. Things went downhill a with the change of ownership last year but then seemed to pick up. However, I'm afraid that things have taken a downward turn again. The new menu is confusing and you have to "build" your own dish, unless you want a basic fried rice, chow mein or sweet and sour. I tried to create a chicken and cashew nuts, a favourite on the old menu. I wouldn't bother again - I never received the cashew nuts I ordered but another bland load of bamboo shoots instead which went in the bin. Couldn't be bothered to go back and complain. I shall just vote with my feet and go elsewhere in future. Very disappointing.

So my partner and I really enjoyed our eggs on toast, No this isn’t on the menu, but what we ended up eating after opening the food carton from the Rainbow. We have never experienced such a disappointing takeaway; gloopy, gelatinous, and ferociously hot (one chilli rated) green chicken curry alongside an equally unappetising anaemic, bleached pork sweet and sour dish. It’s barely worth mentioning the fact they failed to include a boiled rice I’d paid for...I will certainly never return, and would urge caution to anyone else, from now on I will be making the journey to the Orient Express despite the travel involved...

Have used this place a few times for takeaways and tonight just ordered a couple of portions of chips, which in the past have been superb. What they served up tonight was blindingly obvious frozen oven steak chips. Absolute crap.......dry tasteless and extremely obvious NOT homemade or fresh.

We have been going here for over 20 years and had no problems what so ever but recently it was took over and the food just went right down hill, very watery curry, chicken very fatty and even received the wrong food on three occasions. We couldn't find another Chinese take away like it so we decided to give it one last go, we have had two take aways from there now and it seems like the food is getting better so let's hope they keep it up and it just keeps getting better.

We have been getting our takeaways from here for years , called in here on Saturday, ordered our usual . When we got home , we dished it up and noticed it didn't look or smell the same , and on tasting it was so bad . The meat was tough , there was not much egg in the egg fried rice , and the sweet and sour chicken balls were so greasy and tough they were inedible. We chucked it all in the bin . If I lived closer I would of taken it back .

Genuinely - one of the better chinese meals i have for a long time.. The prawn toast was fresh tasting, meaty and actually tasted like king prawn. The Beef and black bean sauce, had some of the most tenderised beef, however missed out a flavour kick overall the beef made up for its slight shortfall. The lettuce dumplings i have missed since i left london, and they are on par with some amazing chinese restaurants in london. Lettuce still has a bite, not slimey and broth with full of flavour the spring onions made it. Order was taken very well, and delivered speedy enough that the beef was still warm, even afyer eating the soup and prawn toast.

I was surprised recently to read one or two poor reviews of this takeaway so I returned tonight. I have to say the extra hot prawn curry rice and chips I had was one of the best ever although the salt and pepper chilli ribs were a little bit on the fatty side as usually they are first class. Overall I really enjoyed the food as did my wife. No way could you give it less than 4 stars.

Purchased food for £30 and asked for prawn. Crackers but not allowed them for free as had to spent £40 ha ha really !!!! You need to watch a video called give them the pickle it will allow you to understand the basics of customer service and the small things go a long way Have spent a lot of money over the years and always want to support local businesses Yet simple things go a long way
