Rainbow Cafe in Sheffield

I’ve visited Rainbow Cafe a few times as a break from band practice, and I’m glad I popped in again today. I ordered an Americano with milk and a large breakfast, both of which were excellent. The coffee was rich and satisfying, and the breakfast was hearty and delicious. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the experience even better. The cakes on display looked so tempting that I couldn't resist grabbing one for the road! Overall, a fantastic spot that never disappoints.

Not very friendly staff and not very accommodating towards food allergies

Classic cafe, with added atmosphere due to the florists at the back. The staff are kind although sometimes they give off the vibe that you're inconveniencing them by buying things. Can be a bit of a wait for food, but it's delicious when it arrives. They've not inflated their prices as much as other cafes over the last 12 months which is appreciated.

A delightful place that I wish we had discovered sooner. Delicious food in a quirky and beautiful location. Great value and quality of the we can't wait to return.

Really nice little cafe. Great breakfasts, friendly service. It has a shop at the back with some nice gift ideas, plants etc. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

Just by chance came upon rainbow cafe also a florist situated in the heart of popular heely we parked roadside very friendly vibe about the place the breakfast we had was very nice the homemade cakes are delicious my son had millionaire shortcake nice latte coffee and flat white lovely florist also nice cards and plants 🪴 very welcoming atmosphere that means an awful lot the staff are very friendly and helpful definitely will come again

Great food,great experience. Beautiful to chill out in the summer sun. Definitely worth a visit,will be going again very soon.

We visited here today as it looked like a lovely cafe that we have been wanting to try for a while. On entering with 2 buggy’s we were greeted by the staff telling us that ‘they aren’t very buggy friendly’. There is obviously plenty of space for buggy’s with a bit of consideration but we were made to feel unwelcome by the abrupt staff. We only had takeaway cafe due to this and went elsewhere but I will not be returning. I have been to much smaller cafes with buggy’s and have always being made welcome regardless.

The chicken was raw in the sweet and sour special. Please do not eat at this restaurant. If you care about your health. I’m already making way to report it.

I really wish this place was better as it offers good prices and is in a great location but after organising several trips with friends I'm giving up on it. The food is often either under or overcooked, and generally a bit bland. The last time I visited I was in a sling for a broken bone and one of the owners decided to take the opportunity to interrupt our conversation to mock me for getting the injury, sure it was 'good natured ' but isn't always what you want when in pain. Oh well, Heeley City Farm Café is a good nearby alternative and the proceeds go to a worthy cause.

Food and drinks are okay for the price. Could just do with minor additions like syrup with eggy bread

Had a lovely coffee . Went to order food to take away Removed coffee cups that was not finished with . Lady so grumpy ... Salad on sandwich a bit sad ... Cakes lovely. Omlet a bit burnt ....

Decent cafe, v cheap and cheerful, and some nice outdoor decking too. A great no-frills option.

Every time i get a sandwich there is something wrong with it either no mayo after asking or they put tomato sauce on my ham salad service takes ages and it seems like a lot of the time they dont know what they are doing

I returned to Rainbow cafe on Thursday afternoon, having been there a few times over the last couple of years. It’s such a comfortable place and really good value. My friend and I had coffee and cake this time, huge slice of really lovely home made cake for £3. I marked 4* for atmosphere because a customer was being very rude to the staff, who appeared to be doing their best to sort out a misunderstanding. From what I observed, they couldn’t have done more to correct the misunderstanding over a cup of tea, giving a free replacement and apologising for the error. But I’ll definitely be going back as it’s such a nice place where I can train my dog to sit quietly in a friendly space, with nice coffee and food available

Pie special is the best. Highly recommend

My 75 year old father and I went to have a hot drink here. Terrible customer service from the go. They then mistakenly served him a breakfast tea with milk (which as a vegan he doesn’t drink) instead of the green tea we had ordered. When we pointed this out, we were told it would be another £1 to rectify the(ir) mistake. I pointed out we had clearly said “a green tea please” (twice) and the way we were treated was so unprofessional. They argued a ‘normal’ tea (not on the menu anywhere) was £1.50 and the ‘speciality’ tea was £2.50. I pointed out the menu said £2.50 for both types. What followed was a comedy of bad customer service from the manager/owner. Eventually she apologised (in the most reluctant and rude way possible) while still trying to make out like we had done something wrong. For the sake of a cup of tea and a pound, it was ridiculous how they doubled down on what was clearly their mistake. Won’t ever be going back. If a cup of tea is the threshold for rudeness like that, we’ll stick to the many much better places available.

Great cappuccino and while we were there, the staff dressed as characters from Alice through the looking-glass, very original 👏 👍🙂.

Cosy, welcoming and kid friendly. We had some lovely Paninis and the hospitality was awesome.Will definitely be back!

We've just got home from a birthday breakfast for my partner (69 today!) and felt quite disappointed. It's a nice little place but was let down by the cooking. My Eggs Benedict were hard, and my partner's fried egg was broken and hard. He thought the bacon was probably re-heated as it was hard too. I'm afraid I felt that the problem was a staffing attitude one, and hard to sort out for the owner, sadly. I'm afraid the owner's "disappointed" response below just confirmed my view. Nobody died - it was just 2 bad breakfasts, but it's just not OK to serve up Eggs Benedict hard or hard and broken fried eggs. And they clearly knew it wasn't and still served them up that way! The fact remains that the breakfasts were substandard and the owner has tried to make me feel in the wrong for pointing this out. She is more disappointed in getting a bad honest review than in giving poor service. The bad attitude clearly comes from the top down (sadly). And no - as my partner said to me on leaving, we won't be returning.

What a lovely little place! We visited for the first time as a family over the weekend and would definitely recommend! Good strong coffee and child friendly! They were so accommodating to our requests for our children's lunches - nothing was too much trouble! Will be back! :)

Went for lunch today only to overhear transphobic remarks being made by the staff to one another - especially shocking given the events that have transpired over the last few days in the community. If you’re queer or just a decent human being, do yourselves a favour and don’t bother coming here. Edit: Good to hear you will be looking into this. One comment in particular compared trans people to dogs, which is the most disgusting thing I’ve EVER had to hear. Maybe use that as a starting point in your investigation.

Been here a few times now and what a nice little cafe! Coffee is of a good standard and the owner is a top bloke! Always makes an effort and comes over for a chat. We were with our toddler and he came over with a bag of crayons and colouring paper which made her very happy. Very welcoming place.

Ideal for a gluten free breakfast .

English breakfast wasn’t hot enough, in particular the mushrooms were clock cold, plates were cold too, which didn’t help matters. Did complain after, but no apology or reduction on bill. Said we should have brought it to their attention straight away, fair enough, but the fault wasn’t ours and we didn’t have time for the extra delay (and it took a while in the first place). Overall a bit dissatisfied; would recommend for a quick coffee (cosy seating area) but cooked breakfast, not so much.

Sloppy hash browns. Measly portions. Very few beans and very strange veggy sausages that reaembled hot dogs and tasteless. A really poor breakfast. Nice venue and friendly people though i wont be returning

Saturday brunch. Full will we arrived. Always a good sign, I feel. Especially as the place is not in an obvious location, so you have to be there purposely. Breakfast and coffee and deluxe hot chocolate all good. All local ingredients. Not a rushed environment. Great to chill . Plus great, caring cheerful staff. Places like this need our support. Glad to help out by relaxing and eating your food. 👍

Vibrant cafe, friendly, and colourfully themed with a nice cafe garden at the back. Also serves tipples so ideal for any occasion. Birthday gin n tonic for me !

These are the places we need to protect as they are a little gem. Great food and drinks prices great Large breakfast cost £7.95 and that included a coffee for £2.80 so the breakfast cost £5.15 a BRILLIANT price. Will definitely be going back.

We were looking for somewhere to have breakfast and came across the Rainbow Cafe on Trip advisor. Didn’t even this place existed. This is quite a busy cafe with the added touch of a florist. A good local businesses support

Great local cafe, good range of sandwiches, panini's, breakfasts etc. Also has a shop at the back of it selling stuff too! The cakes look amazing, the coffee is also cracking!

This is such a amazing lit gem,staff are amazing so friendly and welcoming! Ordered flowers from their a couple of time presentation is fantastic and last such a long time lady's no their stuff when it comes to both aspects of the business! Well worth a visit! Children and pet friendly too!!!!!

Hidden little gem just off of Myrtle Road. Also sells coffee and food when covid permits. The women are super friendly and know their stuff when it comes to house plant care!

We have been calling into Rainbow for a long time and always go in for a Breakfast, the staff are great and the choice of menue is good for a small cafe. The range of cakes they do are good and have tried most! The feel of the cafe is very relaxing and attracts lots of dog owners which is a massive bonus! The prices are very good and the food is made and cooked to a good standard!! All cooked food and sandwiches are made fresh to order so be prepared to wait a little( it's worth it!! )it also sports an attached florists which we now use and the flowers are 100% in quality and price....if you have never popped in make sure you do you won't be disappointed! I am a Chef and don't give praise lightly but Rainbow has got it right!! 👍 Rastychef.........

Just visited rainbow cafe and had a flatbread with Brie,pear and rocket,it was really good.highly recommended

This is exactly what a cafe should be - a big mug of coffee (or tea!), a big slice of fresh cake, a friendly welcome, and a cozy but quirky environment with lots of character. The lunches also look good, but that will have to wait until next time!

Wonderful cafe and friendly atmosphere. Family owned and run and you can tell the difference. Wonderful florist on site which makes a really nice atmosphere. GF options are available but limited which is understandable given that it’s not a central area.

Had a lovely wrap and excellent coffee and amazing cake. The service is great, as are the surroundings. Lovely seating areas inside and out and you can purchases flowers, plants and gifts at the same time as Bouquet Florists is located as part of the cafe. What more could you want?! Would definitely recommend and will definitely return.
