I was looking online for a pub to eat out in Crouch End that had a menu that was a bit different from the bog standard meal options you usually get in a pub. I stumbled upon their menu then found out it was the chef (Roshan) who used to work at the famous Banners (that closed down last year) and so we had to go and we were not disappointed. Two of us are vegetarians and we had more than just one choice for a nice change. The meat eaters were happy too. The friend plantain and garlic fries were amazing accompaniments too our main dishes. The service was friendly and can’t fault anything in our experience. The bar and restaurant (Rostand Kitchen) are both under one roof but are working as separate entities, meaning you pay separately and you order your own drinks at the bar, We will be back 100% sure of that.

Whilst the staff are friendly and welcoming the food is very mediocre. Save your money there are much better places to eat in the area.

Food was so tasty and for a pub the calamari was amazing! Definitely recommend coming for a visit and try the calamari and chicken wings.

Tristemente, mala comida.

We went on a Sunday evening and had some local beer and roast. The roast was amazing. I had lamb and my son had chicken. This place is a gem! Right outside the local train station and filled with people enjoying community. My wife noticed the everyone was talking to one another and not on their phones. We liked the atmosphere and people so much we went back Tuesday night and were not disappointed. Must try if you out this far!

Called in for a snack lunch on the way to a nearby funeral. Unreconstructed old London Railway Pub near to station and bus stops. Chose just to have a prawn cocktail each and what a prawn cocktail : I can't remember the last time I had such a large and tasty one. Friendly staff, and unusually quite a few locals in at a lunchtime. Felt like a real community pub

Popped in here for a quick refreshment and although it was quiet we enjoyed it. Polite staff and the pub has plenty of character. Shame we had to leave so soon.

Este pub no está en el centro con lo que es mucho más auténtico que los más turísticos. La gente que va es la gente del barrio. Está en Crouch End un agradable barrio al norte de Londres. Buenas cervezas y además tiene juegos.

I’ve been to Railway Tavern with some friends during a trip. We had just finished our Rock 'n Roll Walking Music Tour of London when we decided to enter such a lovely pub looking for good food and a cheap bill. Railway Tavern totally surprised us. Every dish we had was amazing! Even my meat-eating boyfriend couldn't believe how good it was. We were talking about it for days! We ate at some expensive London restaurants during our trip but couldn't help comparing it to this meal every time. The owner and waitress were so friendly, especially Sumy - very accommodating. The decor is simple, so don’t expect anything fancy - but if you’re looking for the best traditional food in London, this is the place!

I've been in London last month for a business trip and when I jumped in this pub firstly I thought: "omg, i like this friendly and coloured atmosphere". Then I ordered something and the food very good and tasty, the price was so cheap :) I appreciated so much the kind, efficient and friendly approach of Sumy, the girl who served me. I would reccommend this place!!

I’ve been visiting this pub for over a decade. I’ve seen it run by different people in that time. I’ve seen it stutter under new management and then recover. It always does. This place is a gem. Friendly staff, a little local crowd, dog friendly and lovely tasty roasts. It’s a good spot for a Sunday lunch or a mid week drink with friends. Recommended.

Really great pub with an excellent garden and beer choice. Staff are friendly and genuine. Haven't tried the food but will be back with friends asap! Wish other Crouch End pubs were as well run and inviting!

Popped into here for a few on a night out with my other half. Lovely atmosphere and really, really present and helpful staff. Had a two course meal and drinks for less than £40 and it was good honest pub food. Definitely recommend the sticky toffee pudding!

We have been frequenting this pub for some time now. It is, in my humble opinion, the best in Crouch End. The beers are well looked after (I'm an ale drinker and having 3 decent ales on tap is a massive bonus for me). The staff are both helpful and friendly and the atmosphere reflects that, it is a lovely place for a relaxing drink at any time. In the summer the beer garden at the back and tables at the front catch the sun at various points in the day and in the winter there is a lovely warm fire inside. The food is good value too, the burgers are always tempting! Overall a great 'proper' pub and I highly recommend a visit.

We called in to this pub on the off chance, during a day of nostalgia, visiting Crouch End as a trip down memory lane, having lived there as a child and up until I married......we were warmly welcomed by the friendly Staff and enjoyed an excellent hearty lunch whilst sitting in front of a huge roaring fire. Would definately recommend it.

Excellent pub. They have Timothy Taylor's Landlord which is beautiful. A good mix of people means there is a nice atmosphere and I'd rate it as my favourite Crouch End pub.

Amazing pub with soul, a funky style and friendly staff. The food is quite good as well considering it's a pub! Highly recommended for a real pub experience.

This pub served above average pub grub. All diners in my party whether having a bowl of chips or a full meal were pleasantly surprised. Good ideas and well executed at good prices.

Great pub, Great drink selection, Great crowd and Great Atmosphere… the only downside was the barman… Big guy, dark skin, I believe his name was Paul… made weird comments towards us and constantly looked at us with strange eye contact throughout the evening… I don’t know if he was drunk or what but he wouldn’t leave us alone and made our experience so uncomfortable we had to leave just to get away from him and even as we tried to exit he then tried to get our personal contact information… such a weird strange man… I wouldn’t come back here if I see him working… otherwise it’s great place to be

Food arrived on time and was all prepared well, and yet I am still left feeling short changed because the quality of the food was rather under par. I would really struggle to recommend their sushi and poke to anyone.

I was sat in this Costa having a drink when a blind man with a cane came in. I watched as he stood about a metre from the till with two customers in front of him waiting. He stood there for about 5 minutes- with several new customers walking straight past him, and skipping him in the queue- ignoring his asks for help. He was right in front of the staff and they did nothing to help him. It went on so long I had to go up to the two staff behind the bar to tell them the visually impaired man had been stood there a while and no one had helped him. The girl said ‘they were busy’ making the drinks of the people who had walked past him in the queue, and told me (21 year old female) to help him. I ended up having to explain to this man that the staff didn’t come to help him, and that I would. I had to take him to the till, helping him pay and get the drink he wanted, and helping him put all his sugars in his drink. That staff completely ignored his requests for help. It was so awful to see. I even had to help this poor man outside as they wouldn’t assist him. Absolutely disgraceful behaviour from both the staff there today. I couldn’t believe it. Other than losing my faith in humanity, the hot chocolate was good.
