Nice locals pub with a well attended quiz night on my visit. I didnt feel overly welcome but still nice proper pub and decent fellow guests

Well, I can say if you would like an actual decent night out with respect, music, and appreciation, this is the place to go. Staff are always polite and pass the vibe check, and the atmosphere is spot on. Would definitely recommend.

Great for a late drink, and karaoke 🎤, very friendly staff

The workers seemed friendy. We enquired there about performing a gig. However seems the bar attracts violent people. The manager seemed aggressive & paranoid our playing there might attract trouble. We're just a mellow skinny indie band ! It weirded us out so we decided not to play there.

Nice Pub for the Rainbow Family. Fairy Tales and sweet kisses can be happen between the people who follow there hearts. You can easy dance and drink a night away here.

I can't speak highly enough of this pub. I went here one night over the pride weekend after a very bad experience somewhere else. The staff were lovely and very friendly. The pub was full and the atmosphere was absolutely brilliant. I absolutely loved my night here and only wish I had gone here earlier. I can't recommend the Catherine Wheel highly enough. I would definitely recommend it to anyone else and would happily go here again. Thank you for a lovely evening. My only critism was a bit of a delay in being served when I first arrived, but the friendly staff outweighed this.

I was travelling alone and was recommended this place from locals for kareoke night. The staff were so nice. The owners saw I was alone and were so sweet and invited me to sit and chat with them. Genuinely the kindest people I've ever met. I now have new friends in Norwich and look forward to returning there soon.

Went for the Drag karaoke 🎤 but unfortunately the artist was ill 🤒 - what a shame. But we still had a great night and sang and laughed and drank. Landlord is a great guy. Check the place out 👍

I went here for a quiz night hosted by the amazing Izzy Harjett. It was such a fun night and me and my friends had a great time! Family run pub, great atmosphere, great entertainment, good beer. LBGTQIA friendly! I've returned a few times and will continue to do so!

Everyone welcomed no matter orientation or looks. Extremely friendly and enjoyable environment. Wouldn't go anywhere else. Karaoke good fun.

Magical !!! This is a great British establishment, with such a fantastic mix if people, I could have stayed hours more. Defo on my list to go back next time I'm visiting Norwich. This venue deserves it's success.

I cannot praise this pub and staff enough! Visiting Norwich for the weekend, I went in alone and was immediately made to feel welcome by the owners Dawn and Bernice, and their team Kim and Carl. They took the time to introduce me to their regulars which I really appreciated. This place really is a home from home with a fantastic crowd of people, a real family atmosphere. I'll definitely be back! I highly recommend The Catherine Wheel!

It's a difficult place to find especially if you don't know the area but it's well worth the effort because it is a nice and friendly pub.

I go here when I visit my daughter its a lovely welcoming LGBT pub and I feel more welcome being straight. I even did the Pride procession with them last Saturday and thoroughly enjoyed myself.

A wonderful clean place. The atmosphere here is so relaxed and everyone is so welcoming. The drinks are a good price and a good varied selection. It was hard to find at first but when there it added to a hidden gem appeal. A wonderful find and good venue for an event. Will definitely recommened and be visiting again

Thought it was a club but actually its a pub. However, we ended up staying for the evening and had a lovely time. Very welcoming and with a nice atmosphere. We were told a few times that this was the best place in Norwich for gays to meet. They have lots of events so check before you visit.

Local pub but citywide fame - cabaret bar with loyal LGBT clientele - karaoke / quiz nights / Singers / drag acts / film nights / excellent upstairs restaurant on Sundays & & for private hiring. See the medieval well by the stage - don’t upset the three ghosts in residence there - Mummy Dawn & Mummy Bernice will look after you so don’t be shy !!

Tried the Sunday roast after all the good reviews and tempting pictures and was not disappointed. Orderered a small portion but could have finished a large portion easily. Staff were extremely friendly and more than happy to explain the history behind the pub and show you the well within the pub! We've been told Fridays and Saturdays are good days to meet people. Will definitely return.

Always fun to have a dance here on a Friday and Saturday night. A friendly crowd and friendly staff :-)

Lovely Sunday roast - with generous helpings. We chose the roast beef which I can recommend together with a very homely restaurant area upstairs.

Went for a roast here as new to the area and came across the Catherine Wheel on trip adviser. The roast was amazing, with great selection of meat, roasties, peas, carrots, cabbage, cauliflower cheese and parsnips! Oh, and 2 massive Yorkshires the size of your hands each! Gravy was delicious and I would even go as far as saying it was all better than me Nan's roast, which if you knew my nan and her roasts, is quite the compliment! The people who worked at the pub were also very friendly and welcoming! Will defo be back with friends in tow! Xxxxx

I went here for the first time on Sunday 20th and I wasn't disappointed the food was really good and the atmosphere was relaxing.
