Absolutely my happy place to go , been going to the Catherine wheel most Friday nights for maybe 10 years, atmosphere is amazing everyone is friendly and never had any trouble in those 10 years 😀

Rachel is the most precious human being I’ve ever met in my life. I came in with my shoe falling apart and she took time out of her day for free to help me get home. She taped up my shoe for me 😅 She deserves to be protected at all costs and I will come back specifically to thank her. She’s the big sister we’ve always wanted and deserved. I would go to battle for her, she is so pure and kind, I love her ♥️

Unfortunate enough to have been groped here. -Not the venue's fault but not a great visit to say the least. Been a few times over the past two years. Kept giving it a go, but we gave up. Due to the business of the place on certain occasions all the time you are very squashed in, you can't move about at all and being told to "move" by staff isn't great in a pub rammed with too many people inside. We are a young gay couple, married. Definitely a different generation pub which is fine, just not for us. I wouldn't say it's welcoming to newbies.

It's always a pleasure to visit the best LGBT place in Norwich, even after many years.

Around 2009-10 I was the victim of a SA here which in my naivety as a young person I never officially reported. It took a long time for me to come to a place of accepting there are bad places everywhere and that it wasn't particularly the venues fault. Coming back to the venue over a decade later I found it a friendly if overwhelming place. Sadly it seems this month the pub's drink of the month is a pun on a drug used to SA people and the owners seem unapologetically determined to disregard the feelings of the victims of SA among which LGBTQIA people are overrepresented.

Avoid this place. They thought naming their cocktail of the month "Rolyhypnol" would be a good idea. They should be ashamed.

Have bern there 3 times now and on my own on friday nights for the karaoke and love it! Was made very welcone by one tegular and he rgroup. The whole place is such a Friendly place to be. It doesn't matter about your gender. I am straight but very friendly with all genders.The adorable drag queens, (1 was there on my first and 3rd visit and a different one on my second visit.) were polite caring and of course very funny at times (with lovely SLIM figuresr i wish i had! Lol) I surprised everyone with "The LONELY GOAT HERD" SONG! Lol! Everyone loved it! Will go there again and sing it again if they request it from me! Lol. Thank you for a great fun karaoke! Fabulous pub, loads of options for drinks, especially gin. Friendly bar staff and atmosphere, very open minded. Truly terrible drag actually though. Not a bad voice but really not funny. DJ beforehand was much better!

First time since living in Norfolk for the past 4 months. Great service, lively atmosphere, happy crowd, wonderful Karaoke which I adore!. So very empowering. Straight or gay you must visit

Happy New Year We spent New Years Eve at The Catherine Wheel and it was one of the best NYE we have had Lovely pub filled with all sorts of people and personalities and the warmest welcome from the landlady and the staff Only our second visit and it felt like we’d been going for years Will defo be back next time we visit and I thoroughly recommend the Catherine Wheel for the friendliest welcome

Well, I can say if you would like an actual decent night out with respect, music, and appreciation, this is the place to go. Staff are always polite and pass the vibe check, and the atmosphere is spot on. Would definitely recommend it. Update : This place went downhill VERY fast, the while pub is just terrible and unfortunately not in my good books for pubs, staff are disrespectfull and the place had zero organisation whatsoever just looks messy everywhere. Oh well, luckily enough, I found a much, much more friendlier and mature place.

The workers seemed friendy. We enquired there about performing a gig. However seems the bar attracts violent people. The manager seemed aggressive & paranoid our playing there might attract trouble. We're just a mellow skinny indie band ! It weirded us out so we decided not to play there.

Nice Pub for the Rainbow Family. Fairy Tales and sweet kisses can be happen between the people who follow there hearts. You can easy dance and drink a night away here.

I can't speak highly enough of this pub. I went here one night over the pride weekend after a very bad experience somewhere else. The staff were lovely and very friendly. The pub was full and the atmosphere was absolutely brilliant. I absolutely loved my night here and only wish I had gone here earlier. I can't recommend the Catherine Wheel highly enough. I would definitely recommend it to anyone else and would happily go here again. Thank you for a lovely evening. My only critism was a bit of a delay in being served when I first arrived, but the friendly staff outweighed this.

I was travelling alone and was recommended this place from locals for kareoke night. The staff were so nice. The owners saw I was alone and were so sweet and invited me to sit and chat with them. Genuinely the kindest people I've ever met. I now have new friends in Norwich and look forward to returning there soon.

Went for the Drag karaoke 🎤 but unfortunately the artist was ill 🤒 - what a shame. But we still had a great night and sang and laughed and drank. Landlord is a great guy. Check the place out 👍

I went here for a quiz night hosted by the amazing Izzy Harjett. It was such a fun night and me and my friends had a great time! Family run pub, great atmosphere, great entertainment, good beer. LBGTQIA friendly! I've returned a few times and will continue to do so!

I cannot praise this pub and staff enough! Visiting Norwich for the weekend, I went in alone and was immediately made to feel welcome by the owners Dawn and Bernice, and their team Kim and Carl. They took the time to introduce me to their regulars which I really appreciated. This place really is a home from home with a fantastic crowd of people, a real family atmosphere. I'll definitely be back! I highly recommend The Catherine Wheel!

It's a difficult place to find especially if you don't know the area but it's well worth the effort because it is a nice and friendly pub.

I go here when I visit my daughter its a lovely welcoming LGBT pub and I feel more welcome being straight. I even did the Pride procession with them last Saturday and thoroughly enjoyed myself.
