Waited 10 mins for a table and despite staff looking at us as they walked past and being told - 'we will be with you in a minute' no-one came to take us to a table. So gave up a walked out. Went to the Ivy instead and the service was faultless. Suggest you go there instead.

Really enjoyed the food , a decent amount of veggie options, but I don't think I would come back as a lot of options are things that I could make at home cheaper

Very nice meal & offer of kids eat free during the 6 weeks holiday was much appreciated! Quality of food was high and well priced. Couple of issues with wife’s order (no egg, one wrong product) but waitress was very kind and took it off the bill.

Food was very meh for me. I had only a light lunch option, the battered duck, but I still expected something more substantial and tastier. Could not taste any duck, just batter. Overall bland. My friend's meal was slightly better, admittedly. I would consider a more substantial meal next time, like a burger or a steak, were I to come again; but, based on this why would I when there's tons of other places to try. Oh, and there is a sneaky surcharge for a tip that I wasn't consulted on: what is this, America?!

We had a wonderful family lunch at Bill's in Norwich. On a short break we needed somewhere that would satisfy all members of our party and of course Bill's with it's varied menu ticked all the boxes! Burgers and brunches were enjoyed by all. Service was prompt and friendly and the food delicious. Should we find ourselves in Norwich again we'd definetly return.

Our meal was ok, nothing special for the price, my peas were cold and unsmashed. Why would anyone serve feta cheese with fish? It's weird. A service charge was slapped on, which was a bit much. considering the service was very lacklustre, we had to ask for water three times and my drink was served in a chipped glass. The worst part, that kind of ruined the evening; we were all pretty horrified to see a dog allowed upstairs in the restaurant (bar downstairs, fair enough) The worst part was that the dog then was allowed to stand on the table. Not one member of staff was seen asking them to put the dog on the floor. I do not wish to eat in an establishment that thinks it is ok to allow a dog to stand on the dinner table. It's gross.

We all chose the burger and added cheese. They were very accommodating, as most places are with removing the bits and bobs I didn’t like e.g. tomato and onion etc. The chips were crunchy and very tasty. Three of us chose the salted caramel chocolate tart for dessert, but all swapped the coconut ice cream for vanilla. It was absolutely yummy! One chose the doughnuts with caramel and chocolate dipping sauces. He said he was concerned about the cinnamon sugar being too overpowering with cinnamon but he said it was really subtle and that was pleasing. All in all a fabulous meal for £16.50. Which was even cheaper as I had used 25% discount code! Would highly recommend.

Super nice all the food tasted so good.

Comfortable, friendly place, great for Sunday brunch or cocktails with friends. Good food, decent portions, fair prices and great service. Booths are nice for couples for an intimate lunch. There is a wide range of both food and drink on offer, from quick snacks to a leisurely dinner. Will come again.

Big thank you to George who served us today. He was so friendly, chatty and attentive, always making sure to check we had everything we needed. Great to have someone make such an effort with the customers and make them feel so welcome! All the staff were so friendly and all looked genuinely happy to be there - which can be such a rarity in hospitality these days.

I always pop into Bills when working in Norwich. The staff are genuine and friendly, great service. The food has never been anything less than excellent 👌 Tonight I had the sea bream with giant couscous and green beans along with a glass of Shiraz. I particularly like how seriously Bills take allergies and this gives me reassurance.

I’ve been to bills twice now, the first being lovely and good food this was around a year and a half ago. I went last month and was left extremely disappointed, the establishment was clearly understaffed, our waitress was flying back between our table and others while we were trying to order/ask questions. The 2 breakfasts we ordered were both disappointing, one chicken bacon pancakes missing the syrup and chilly oil and the pancakes and chicken were complete dry. The other meal being a large breakfast, considerably smaller than last time I had it, the majority of the food was either under cooked or over cooked with the toast only been toasted on one side also the large breakfast was served on the shallow bowl making it extremely hard to cut and enjoy. We were unable to complain as our waitress was nowhere to be found, and we had already waited long enough! The bill for this meal was overpriced, and included a 10% service charge which we had to pay as there’s no option to remove on the screens and our waitress had once again disappeared after handing it to us. Wouldn’t recommend you can get far better breakfasts elsewhere for the money. Shame as the building and interior is lovely

Downgraded from 5 stars. My original review below 👇. Since writing my review I have had three meals in a row where I have had to return the food as it was delivered cold. They are clearly struggling with something. Really gutted, cause I enjoyed going here a few times a month, but won't bother anymore. They really didn't seem to be bothered...it was like returning food was second nature to them. Just par for the course. Shame. Original review at 5 stars. ------------------------- While Bills is a chain, it's one of the few where they genuinely seem to run each branch as though they are independent. The staff must get some serious training as they genuinely go out of their way to make you feel welcome and nothing seems to be too much trouble. I tend to want to change my breakfast options entirely, yet they just say "no problem". Kids are made to feel utterly welcomed. They accommodate any and all requests and the food arrives quickly and always tastes way above average. Price is good (especially if you have a blue light card). They don't rush you, but they do get you in and out quickly as they serve the food so fast. Service - exceptional. Food - good. Atmosphere - decent. Overall a very solid option.

Weak coffee, dry and overcooked pancakes and servers that don't care. Save your money and go into a local coffee shop.

Great food, really good service and perfect for summer holidays when 2 kids can eat with 1 paying adult! We've been here many times and it's always been good.

I’ve been a few times to Bill’s. Today was the second time they forgot our order and lied about it. The first time the food took over an hour to come and when it did it was cold and congealed. In that instance, the manager was good enough to make a concession. And everyone makes mistakes, right? So we gave them the benefit of the doubt. Today, however, there was no apology. Diners arrived after us, ordered, ate, paid and left and we were still sitting around. But all we received were excuses. “Your food is coming now,” they said, in the same way the taxi company tells you their late driver is “just around the corner” but they don’t turn up for another 20 minutes because they hadn’t even dispatched a taxi to you. The same thing happened here. They clearly hadn’t even cooked our food when we asked why our order was taking so long. And when it did arrive, the food was still mediocre and unpleasant. So if you want to eat at Bill’s, go well before you’re hungry, bring a good book, and prepare to be disappointed.

Went for a meal with my partner, the food was wonderful and the server (James) was so attentive and lovely and went above and beyond to take care of us. All the special touches added up and we left feeling amazing. Well done on your fantastic service James, thank you for making our experience so special ❤️

Received a voucher for my birthday, so I took advantage of a bottle of free Prosecco and had a wonderful burger. I've been here several times before, and I have always liked the restaurant.

Average food. Bland service. Lovely calamari starter, chicker burger main was OK, but steak main was 'blue' despite asking for 'medium rare'. Wouldn't visit again

Dinner was amazing Shortly after we entered we were greeted kindly and showed to our table which had plenty of privacy and was cosy but still spacious We had James as our server who was absolutely brilliant. He joined in on laughs, regularly check in and was making sure we had the best experience possible. We had the appetiser of olives and hallumi, which was amazing to start off with. We both had the staple burger and was more than impressed. Overall, amazing service, tasty food and a rustic vibe. We’ll back again!

Food was awesome as to was the atmosphere and low lighting. Cost of the food was rather high unfortunately but overall an enjoyable experience.

Went for breakfast. The food was not good. The pancakes were dryer than a nun’s chuff and the ‘big’ breakfast comes with 1 poorly flavoured sausages two slices of tomato and 2 small button mushrooms. We had almost finished the breakfast and they turned up with the drinks. Mandatory 12.5% service charge if you try and pay online by scanning the QR code on the table. Won’t be going back.

Love Bills food, always decent portions and friendly well attentive service. Only downside they offered water, so I said yes as a hot day and instead of a normal sized bottle, came out with a 70 cl glass bottle that they charged £4.25!! They could see I was a lone diner so this peeved me little and they really should have offered a smaller size! No way I could for in my handbag either. Bit of a con to make money, other than that a most enjoyable lunch.

Considering the standard of food is amazing, you would think this would be an expensive place to eat but its beyond reasonable Friendly service and lovely banana cocktail!

Grubby restaurant in dire need of a refurbishment. Food not as good as other branches I have visited. Helpful and friendly staff only made up partially for this disappointing experience.

Extremely disappointing! Sadly will not be returning. Food mediocre,service charges ridiculous .And to top it off No longer accepts cash! Utterly unimpressed. Removing freedom of choice to use cash is unacceptable. Cash is legal tender still.

We had made a reservation but we were left queueing outside in the rain with no apologies or explanations as to why our table wasn't ready. We were eventually shown to our table some 10 minutes after our reservation time. They were clearly VERY understaffed as there were empty tables everywhere which hadn't been cleared and reset. The staff member who took our order was very polite if a little 'heavy handed ' when slamming the drinks and glasses down on the table when she brought them to us. The food was very tasty and arrived fairly promptly. We also took advantage of a 20% discount off of our total bill which had been emailed to me a few days prior. Overall good food but poor service which was disappointing.. Not sure if I'd return.

Can't fo wrong with a bills Breakfast, been to a few of these and this one is just as good as all the others. Managed to sit in the window and watch the people go about their day while we enjoyed a relaxing start to ours. All staff we came into contact with were very happy and pleasant.

Quick service friendly staff lovely food. Just a little cool upstairs with air con on and it wasn't a hot day.

Truly wonderful experience and meal. Tom greeted us like old friends and then handed us over to James. James was attentive, absolutely charming, witty and incredibly efficient. Honestly if the food hadn’t been delicious it would have been worth going just for the service. We had a vegan burger and a sea bream plus salad. What a lovely evening. Thank you guys !

Lovely place great atmosphere , I was served by such a charming Irish waiter, I’d really like to make sure his impeccable service is noted!

Came in on a Saturday lunch time, it wasn’t too busy so we got a table easily. Lovely atmosphere, staff were all really nice and though Food was a little limited it was really delicious. Only thing I personally didn’t like was the level of upselling you make your staff do, it was very obvious and a bit uncomfortable being constantly pushed to have extra sides, extras, drinks etc.

Haven’t been here for a while so we decided to pop in on a quite afternoon, there were plenty of tables available and the receptionist decided to gave us the worst table, told us that’s the only option mean while there were 4 customers in the whole restaurant! Attitude was bad anyway so we decided we to go somewhere else to treat us better!

Live abroad and always visit when back in Norwich. Love the burgers and fries. Excellent choice of dessert as well. Staff very good.

Been here a few times and it’s been nice. Yesterday was terrible . Food cold , I mean everything . The waitress was lovely but whoever the chef is needs to step it up because you are losing business . To not get the basics right is bad . Shame as the staff are nice. The manager did come along and apologised but the food was that bad I wouldn’t come Back.

I guess a Biil's is a Bill's is a Bill's (as in: they're all supposed to be the same) but: I had an accident with a full glass of drink at the table and the waiting staff were excellent in sorting it out, very swift, polite and helpful. And they replaced the drink fic, so thanks for that. The place looks quirkier than some in other Bill's I've been to, so that's another bonus.

Expensive: 25ml shot of whiskey £6.50 and a can of coke £3.50 Pricey food which is mediocre at best. Screaming teenagers while trying to eat food at 8pm. Oh and to top it off, an automatically added 12.5% service charge which is not mentioned when paying only when challenged. Service was friendly and helpfull though. Wouldn't recommend!

We have visited the Norwich Bills many times, the food is fantastic. The squid rings were incredible.

Better than I thought it would be for gluten-free options. Food good, although not much originality.

Good service and food. My order was forgotten leading to a delay of about 29 minutes so I ate after colleagues who were with me. Drink was removed from the bill as a result. Wouldn't complain about this though as these things happen.

Lovely breakfast in a very pleasant place. Staff very welcoming and efficient, drinks orders taken as soon as we were seated then food order shortly after. Not much of a wait for the 4 meals which were all cooked to our requirements. Touch pricey compared to back home but still worth it.

We both turned up we're seated a dirty table we both sat down for breakfast full breakfast and 1 vegan even though my wife is not vegan the eggs were disgusting all food was cold ask for the drinks to come out with the meal they were cold I expect more from bills they are just too busy to look at the customers all I think about is getting the food out if you want to go and pay over the odds for food you normally go to bills expect a good meal awful awful will not be returning

Went as a group for Bottomless brunch and all had cocktails with our meals. Our server was very friendly and helpful, but the drinks came slowly. We had to get up and ask someone a couple of times when our glasses were empty. Food was good and the atmosphere was pleasant just struggled with slow service.

Visited Saturday 20th April our children’s nuggets had an awful smell and tasted gone off meal was sent back I had a hippy bowl and the grains had a slimy texture and wasn’t fresh

Absolutely loved our visit. We were recommended to try the Shwarma meal which was delicious. Generous portion. Didn’t really need the fries. Very friendly interactive staff. Look forward to visiting again soon. Speedy service too. We’d booked at the Playhouse so had little time and the were accommodating of that. Very appreciated.

Visited Bills today with a friend for the first time. Lovely atmosphere, food and service were superb, but wasn't till we paid we noticed the 12.5% service charge that had been added!! I queried this with the waitress who said it was optional. It's hardly optional if they don't even ask before giving the bill. She called the manager over who kindly refunded this service charge back to us.

Fantastic breakfast before shopping in the city, reasonably priced and great customer service. Lots of place and a good location as well.

Usually enjoy the food here, but was slightly disappointed with it today. Had to ask 3 times for table water, and 2 times for sauce. Waiting staff were too preoccupied chatting away and spinning the trays than looking over the patrons. The eggs were undercooked, and they got confused if we wanted fries with sausage, beans and fries. Will be a while before we return.

I’m not a regular visitor to Bill’s (Norwich) but after today I think I may well be! The work of our server, Betsy, did a lot to help make it an enjoyable lunch because she looked after the 3 children very well, friendly but not patronising, efficient but not too attentive! We appreciated the « children eat free » Easter offer but even without that, I think we would still have had good value. I really enjoyed my vegetarian dish and the children’s food was just right for them.

Fantastic, I thought from start to finish they were on point with every aspect of running a venue. Popped in approx 11am to request seating for noon within seconds this is booked. The service we had from a member of staff called Betsy excellent simply in the ball. The quality of the food and time of service was good and the kids eat free offer was a nice touch. They clearly have a very effective system of serving cleaning the tables ready for the next sitting. I have no complaints and although a chain venue I thought there was a real personal touch with well trained and polite staff

My partner and I came here for our 4 year anniversary. Great food and great service. Our waitress, Betsy, was very kind and welcoming. Will definitely be coming here for our 5th anniversary too! We were also offered 2 free glasses of prosseco due to the occasion!

Special mention to BETSY who was absolutely brilliant at her job! Recommended food on the menu with knowledge and even came back to make sure we had enjoyed her recommendation. Above and beyond. Polite kind and enthusiastic for her job. Betsy will go far in her life if she continues with that attitude! Super amazing offer of 2 free kids meals with purchase of 1 adult meal. The food was fabulous. Very busy restaurant yet everything came out perfectly, nothing was too much effort for Bills and we will be back again. Not our first visit and won’t be the last! Super stressful environment today with most staff members standing around giving grumpy looks to everyone apart from Betsy our server who couldn’t have done more to be helpful and kind. She is an absolute credit to that team and carried everybody on shift today. Massive thanks from us 5 x

Juliet, Jo and Emma couldn't do enough for us as a couple as we are on date night. They spent time getting to know us and laughing together about being away from children. The food was excellent and good value. But above all that jULIET made our night. Jo was excellent front of house. Emma had great manners and energy. IMO the staff make a good restaurant, the atmosphere etc. Thank you

What a shambles! Visited on Good Friday with friends, having previously booked a table for 4 well in advance and received confirmation by email. It was obvious that the male member of staff who greeted us was floundering and,eventually 'found' our booking and stated it was for 5! The email on my mobile clearly said 4. He started to take us upstairs but this was not possible as one of the party was recovering from major knee surgery and avoiding stairs is a necessity at the moment.The staff member's face and body language was appalling. Remember, ..''a picture paints a 1000 words..''All four booths downstairs were empty. We ordered 4 hot drinks and asked for two of them to be extra hot. No problem apparently. All 4 were served lukewarm at best with the replacements being no better. Two of the meals were inedible; cold bacon, hard poached eggs which were dry and not runny,overdone burger buns and tasteless toast with frozen butter. Two meals were completely replaced and fresh ones served. They were exactly the same and looked like the original ones reheated. The waitress apologised profusely and said she was ''.. embarrassed..'',having to serve us this standard of food. Her attitude is the reason behind the 1 star rating. Without that,it would have been 0 stars. We were not charged for the food just the tepid liquid in the drinks which wasn't worth it really. Naturally,we won't be returning ever again or recommending it to our many family members and friends who visit the city regularly. We are told that the hospitality industry is struggling generally.Given our shocking experience, I can see why. Shambolic! AVOID!

The service was amazing for how busy they were. Very prompt quick and speedy service. The dishes, we had were extremely tasty although we could have done with a, little more of that delicious truffle cheese sauce to finish our crusty loaf.

Best breakfasts in Norwich. I realy enjoy everytime a visit Bill's. Very stylish restaurant with chic decorations and delicious meals. Is definitely 5*.

Decent brunch! I had the Eggs Benedict, coffee and cloudy apple juice. Mrs had the healthy green juice and Hippie Salad 🍳🥗☕️ (Sorry, no food pics as they came out blurred!) Would come again. 😀

Initially, the greeting was pleasant and quite polite. I was then shown to my table, but things started to deteriorate from there. Once my order arrived, I was engrossed in what I was doing on my iPad, writing emails and minding my own business. However, when my food was brought to the table, I noticed that the chips were very overcooked. The young man who delivered my food agreed with me on this. Judging by the frown and scowling from the male waiter then waitress who came over to ask me about the food was excessive and sarcastic in her questioning. I felt very uncomfortable and promptly paid. My only regret not taking a picture. Value for money absolutely not one small burger with processed cheese, lettuce leaves and some burnt chips £25.. judging on this experience I would advise you go to McDonald’s you’ll get better customer care better quality food value for money.

Good food and a variety of things to choose from. Desserts are amazing. Friendly service and kept on checking in on us and very helpful. Lively atmosphere and a nice place to sit, relax and enjoy.

took my mum out for mother’s day. she seemed to enjoy it, she has the chicken burger and finished it up. i had chicken shawarma and the salad and bread was lovely however, the chicken was not edible. i was chewing and had to spit every piece out because it was so chewy and distasteful. i’m so upset by this because i really bogged the place up and every other experience i’ve had here i have loved. other than my food not really being edible, the atmosphere, service and cleanliness was excellent.
