Went to Bills for a quick solo lunch last Friday and i could not have made a better choice. Food was spot on…. The most welcoming group of people in Norwich make you feel right at home. Lisa was amazing she had a busy section yet was so present and calm, she clearly loves what she does and is excellent at it.

Headed in for brunch, relatively quiet on a Sunday as the weather was nice and most potential customers had headed up the coast. WiFi wasn't working, was told by the server that it had not worked the entire year she had worked there. So, with no signal, my friend and I had to pretend it was the 1990s and hold a conversation. Relatively easy in the quiet atmosphere. Food arrived before the drinks. Bacon was chewy, sausage under cooked. 12% tip was automatically added to the bill, without an option to opt out.

Nice meal. My one criticism is that it is very dark on the ground floor. I had to use my camera torch to see the menu properly. I saw other customers doing the same, so can't just blame it on my age. Watch out for the 12.5% tip which the automatically add. This is optional, but you have to opt out or choose your own tip.

Went for early breakfast around 8.15am. Lisa welcomed us, we got seated and were given menus. Lovely selection to choose from, opted for Bills Big Brunch & Eggs Avocado Florentine plus 2 coffees. Food came out quickly and was absolutely delicious. Lisa checked on us to make sure everything was okay. Excellent food & service. Can’t fault anything and the prices were very reasonable too. We will be back!

Food mediocre, very noisy and cramped. Wouldn’t go there again. Watch out for the 12.5% service charge which is added to your bill. It’s optional, but wasn’t pointed out to us when paying and as we’d already a left a substantial tip of £15.64 to round our bill up to £180.00, we ended up leaving a gratuity £33.90. Not happy with this. Beware!

We hadn't booked a table, but were greeted at the door by a very friendly welcoming gentleman. The menu is full of interesting choices and the prices seem reasonable. Our food arrived quickly and was piping hot and delicious. As a lover of gherkins, I was delighted that they were served on the side of my burger in a dish in plentiful amounts. It was the tastiest burger I've had in a while. This was our first visit to Bill's, but we will definitely be back. Thank you!

It was a great atmosphere and everywhere was clean, including the toilets. Very quiet, only 8 people in the restaurant which was nice. I ordered brunch. I had a server (who I believe was the manager as she has a white shirt) take me and my friend’s order. I ordered the vegan pancakes. I asked 4 times for the vegan option; I even clarified that I am vegan when asked about allergies. I’m vegan for ethical reasons and my gut health. Unfortunately, I received the non-vegan option which was not explained to me. I ate the entire plate without knowing. For the fifth time, I asked for the vegan option of pancakes. She admitted that she gave me the non-vegan version as she thought I ordered this. This made me really upset and ruined my dining experience. What made it worse is that she didn’t even care, she kept smiling and went to serve others. I wouldn’t even have written this review if I didn’t already clarify 5 times. When I queried the difference between the vegan and non-vegan pancakes, the server didn’t know they did vegan pancakes and then later said she didn’t really know the difference between the two. I don’t think I was asking for an impossible request, especially given I also work in hospitality. She waived our bill but was smiling the whole time which again confirmed she didn’t care; I honestly think they gave me the non-vegan option on purpose. I’m just disappointed in the whole experience. I’m just glad I don’t have an allergy or this would have ended horribly.

Fabulous visit to Bills Norwich today: Was shown to our seat by a courteous man who allowed us to sit upstairs through our choice, and then had wonderful service throughout by James P. Very attentive and friendly member of staff. Was a lovely catch up with a friend, cocktails flowed and we had 3 courses, sat for 4hours! That’s how much we enjoyed our visit. Def recommend coming here. Prob worth booking as very busy Saturday lunchtime.

Visited Bills yesterday with my partner to celebrate Pancake Day, and we had a lovely experience overall! I opted for the fruit bottomless pancakes, which came with bananas and strawberries—a great combination, fresh and delicious. I also had a hot chocolate, which was nice but a bit too sweet for my taste. My partner went for the classic burger, which came with fries and little pickles, along with a cappuccino. The food was good, and the service was friendly. However, one downside was the ordering system. They don’t have a QR code for direct ordering, so we had to keep looking for a waiter, which was slightly inconvenient. Also, if you’re planning to visit, I’d recommend pre-booking a table. We didn’t, and we ended up sitting at a center table near the entrance, which wasn’t as cozy as we would have liked. If you want a more intimate or comfortable spot, definitely book in advance. Overall, good food, good service, but a better ordering system and seating arrangement would enhance the experience! Would still recommend for a casual meal.

I’ve been to a few of Bills cafes - mainly in London - and have always enjoyed the food. Not this time. The burger was truly awful. The burger itself was OK if a little tasteless. The accompanying sauce actually detracted from the taste and should be avoided. The pickles were cut too thinly and so again lacked taste. The accompanying fries were - literally - inedible. Although they did not charge me for these. Even the (bottled) beer was flat. I’m not sure why the Norwich version is so bad. Maybe just an off night. But bad it was

Terrible service the bartender was nice but that's pretty much all I can say positively .. the front of house was just unkind and had a bad attitude. I walked in for a drink by myself, there were three tables empty by the window the place wasn't stacked and wasn't busy at all... In fact when I walked in all the waiters and bartenders and front of house were standing at the bar having a chat not paying any attention to anyone around so when I walked in the only way to get their attention was to go to the bar and order my drink otherwise I'd be probably waiting for a while until they finished their conversations. . I was told the front windows were reserved for guests even though one table had dirty plates on it.... Okay... me coming in alone for a drink means I am not a guest? She must've felt really silly when all that time I was there the three empty tables remained empty. This front of house lady will lose you business..... The bartender just gave me a funny look as he was happy to let me sit wherever. I'll be contacting the manager as this is not how you treat people especially when everything is so expensive. Never have been treated so unkindly and unwelcome, I wish I left the drink and walked out as that was the worst experience I've had in a restaurant. 0 stars and will never return. Such a shame as I was looking for a private hire for a big corporate event, well done.... you can thank your front of house lady for losing this big opportunity and I will be sharing this to my connections.

We and my partner decided to go out and have a late Valentine's dinner at the Bills. We ordered cocktails, a starter (chili cheese), mains (chicken) and a dessert (brownie). Everything was okay, the waiter was friendly and we had overall good service. But we got so disappointed with our mains. The chicken was really stiff and tasteless. It was hard to cut it, it felt like it had been out in open days. The mashed potatoes were also quite cold. Neither of us enjoyed the mains and it felt more like pub food rather than restaurant food.

Fab experience! The staff are incredibly considerate & lovely - keep it up guys! My mother and uncle were over visiting from Ireland. They went to bills for brunch and could not speak more highly of the place. They were served by an Italian girl named Roxy who was extremely friendly and helpful, they were really impressed by her. they loved everything about bills from the food to the atmosphere. It was the highlight of their trip to Norwich.

It was mine third visit in this place. Luke’s the chicken burger. Nice atmosphere and staff. My wife had a halloumi burger and she said it was ok. I have noticed that they add 12.5% service charge which you can opt out. I decided to instead of paying the service charge which I learned only fraction is going to the staff and some of it is going to the owners of the chain, change it and give a tip to the waitress who was serving us. I thought it would be more appropriate as I suppose the owners are rich enough. Who knows, maybe I was wrong. Overall good food and nice atmosphere.

I'm writing this message to commend two of your Amazing staff members at Bills Norwich branch “Annie and George” who warmly welcomed us on the night of my Husband’s 75th birthday on the 19th December. They both really went out of their way to make us feel extremely welcome, their warm, friendly and smiley disposition instantly made us feel at home and although this was our first time at this restaurant it almost felt like we were visiting old friends. Both Annie and George are natural people personalities and to have them as the first point of contact with customers especially those who have never been to the restaurant before is a reassuring gift. It wasn’t just what George and Annie did, it was the kind caring way that they did it and I genuinely believe that they both would be a wonderful example to the other staff members as people do notice the difference between someone just going through the motions and someone who genuinely cares. As a trainer myself I can clearly see that they’d both make excellent Customer Service Consultants for your company. I hope they get to read this much deserved feedback so they are aware of our sincere gratitude in making our experience to your restaurant so much better than it would have been without them and to let them know that we will definitely choose to make dining at Bills a regular occurrence because of their courtesy and human kindness. We’ve already told all of our family and friends about Annie and George and what a massive positive difference they made to our experience and I am sharing this feedback with you because everyone deserves to be met by either Annie and George personally or someone who has benefited from being trained in how to model their impeccable customer care. I'd been once before at another location in the evening, this occasion was lunch time. The restaurant was pretty busy ( Christmas period) so the service was just a bit slow, but the staff were upbeat and super helpful. Food arrived quickly, hot, plentiful and good quality.

We’ve always enjoyed eating at Bills in Norwich so decided to pop in after Christmas shopping. We ordered a sharing platter, a side order of fries and what we thought was a side salad. The sharing platter came without the fries and eventually a totally different dish to a side salad! We should maybe have made it totally clear that we wanted everything together but had ordered exactly the same on our last visit without any issues.

My family and I went here for a spontaneous breakfast, making sure to book before :) We’ve had breakfast at Bills before which has always been a pleasure and this was no doubt the same. They have a good selection of brunchy meals with drinks too. The pancakes my all time favourite with an ideal selection of fruit. Would 100% recommend this Bills to anyone coming for breakfast, lunch or dinner :)

The restaurant was excellent the staff were so helpful and friendly my mum who is not very mobile and has to use a walker or stick was looked after very well. There is a good disabled toilet. We were able to get a downstairs table. The staff who looked after us Roxanna and Eric were absolutely brilliant and Roxanna was patient and sweet to us. She made sure we were comfortable. Eric was attentive and kind too. 10 out of 10 all round

The staff here in Norwich were AMAZING tonight. I came for a meal with a friend. Disaster struck - I have a stoma bag and needed access to the disabled very quickly The waitress produced plastic gloves, Wipes etc and even offered to go to Primark to get a change of clothes. And to top it all they wouldn’t let us pay the bill. I’m a bowled over by all of this and extremely grateful that what started off as a fun evening could have become such a disappointment if it wasnt for the care and attention of the staff. Pancakes were tasty, although I think the toppings (berries and syrup) were a little sparse. That being said, the actual pancakes themselves were so filling I couldn't finish them all. Warm and cosy vibe inside, maybe a little cramped table-wise. Lovely staff/service. Reasonably priced. We'd definitely go again. Make sure you book (we did) rather than just walking in! It gets very busy. Also just a note: they do automatically add 12.5% gratuity to your bill.

Discovered Bill's whilst in need of a drink and snack saturday afternoon. We werent disappointed. It was so nice and inviting that we went for breakfast sunday morning. I had the garden plate which was amazing. The staff are all friendly and welcoming. The best service ive had for a long time. Even when we walked in on saturday, they were busy but all staff members made eye contact and said someone would be with us in just a moment. Service is so important these days and Bill's smashed it! Visited for lunch.Subdued lighting made menu small print difficult to read,wrong drinks arrived twice. Two bog standard burgers with fries were not impressive.My sister had fish,which had obviously just been reheated as the breadcrumbs were hard and the measly but of fish inside was like leather. Had the plant plate, vegan breakfast. It had some vegan egg which was vile and the fake bacon was like rubber. It was also on the small side for £14. Do not recommend!

My server asked if everything was good. I said not entirely. They were shocked. There were three things: forgot condiment requested, forgot to clear dirty cutlery and the hunk of food on the table, forgot to bring the bill. They said they were busy. But Bill’s still charge service.

Love a Bill's... service has always been exceptional every time I've been there, the food is good and I like the aesthetic. It's pretty reasonably priced too. As far as chains go, this is a pretty decent and comfortable one.

I have been here 4 times now. Once for a lovely Steak and Red Wine Lunch then the past 3 times for Breakfast. On the last 3 visits I was served by Lisa. Lisa is an exceptional Waitress. In my experience of UK and Abroad Hospitality, I can honestly say it's the best service I have ever received across the board. I have been fortunate enough to have been served on a Cruise Liner in the Carribbean and I feel that although brilliant, Bills and their staff like Lisa are the best in the business. I am fussy when it comes to paying for food and the quality, presentation and taste of Bills is well worth every penny. It's nice to see staff actually care about what they do and this really shows within every aspect of an experience within this particular establishment. I hope the staff get good days off because they all work really hard front and back of house. Thank you for making each visit lovely. I will always recommend this place to people. It's nice that it is Dog friendly too for those that need it.

We had a lovely meal here the Thursday of the Easter Bank Holiday. There is a good vegetarian selection, the food was lovely, very fresh and well presented as you can see from the pictures. The restaurant was standard Ivy so all very nice and the service was impeccable particularly from Lauren who was warm and friendly and very informative with regards to the menu. The chips were the best chips.
