My server asked if everything was good. I said not entirely. They were shocked. There were three things: forgot condiment requested, forgot to clear dirty cutlery and the hunk of food on the table, forgot to bring the bill. They said they were busy. But Bill’s still charge service.

Love a Bill's... service has always been exceptional every time I've been there, the food is good and I like the aesthetic. It's pretty reasonably priced too. As far as chains go, this is a pretty decent and comfortable one.

I have been here 4 times now. Once for a lovely Steak and Red Wine Lunch then the past 3 times for Breakfast. On the last 3 visits I was served by Lisa. Lisa is an exceptional Waitress. In my experience of UK and Abroad Hospitality, I can honestly say it's the best service I have ever received across the board. I have been fortunate enough to have been served on a Cruise Liner in the Carribbean and I feel that although brilliant, Bills and their staff like Lisa are the best in the business. I am fussy when it comes to paying for food and the quality, presentation and taste of Bills is well worth every penny. It's nice to see staff actually care about what they do and this really shows within every aspect of an experience within this particular establishment. I hope the staff get good days off because they all work really hard front and back of house. Thank you for making each visit lovely. I will always recommend this place to people. It's nice that it is Dog friendly too for those that need it.

Recently, my wife and kids dined at Bills, and it was a fantastic experience. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for families. The menu offered a great variety of options, catering to both kids and adults. The kids devoured their food. Service was friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. I got food poisoning from my brunch. The food was cold so I assume it was cooked ahead of time and kept warm under a lamp - hence the food poisoning. The service was not good. Despite booking a table, we were left at the front door with 6 other people and waited 5 mins for a host. The waitress was clearly run off her feet and this came across in her attitude. This experience has put me off Bills indefinitely. Not worth the price.

Popped into Bills in Norwich midway through a shopping day out , greeted at the door shown to a very nicely situated table for us 2 , we were very impressed with the menu , service was prompt and polite , excellent food , all done and dusted in an hour , much to the delight of my shopping companion 🙂. Came into the city for brunch. The staff were accommodating and the food tasted good. The downsides were that chip portions were small, all the sides were chips except for macaroni and cheese, and an automatic service charge of 12.5 % is added to the bill.

My most recent experience at Bills seems to reflect a few others, that whilst I have been to Bills a number of times in the past and always had great service / great food, this occasion was incredibly disappointing. Everything seems to have gone downhill and I unfortunately won’t be back in future. I had booked a table for Sunday AM, and for whatever reason there was only one member of staff that seemed to be ‘allowed’ to show diners to their seats. Whilst he attended to the party in front of us, FIVE members of staff were stood around the bar chatting to the other members of staff behind the bar, and we were ignored until the original member of staff eventually came back to show us to our seats. He took our drinks order and left us to it. Another member of staff then asked if we ‘wanted any drinks’, to which I confirmed our drinks order had already been taken (and she would have known that had she been paying attention and not talking at the bar the whole time). When our food came, it was lukewarm, bordering on cold. The avocado in my breakfast was tangy and seemed off. It was frustrating that if you wanted to use the wifi, you had to fill in a huge questionnaire that included details of your postcode, and your gender!? Why would you need to know someone’s gender to use the wifi? We paid using the QR code on the table, which added a 12.5% service charge and the ONLY way you can get it removed is if you ask a member of staff. I won’t be dining here again, the service has gone so downhill and the food and overall experience was really disappointing.

Seated at an awkwardly situated table right next to another couple. Service was fine, I guess, but didn't appreciate the service charge. Main complaint is the incredibly bland food. But I'm glad to see my dinner lady from year 9 has found a new job at Bill's in Norwich because the food is literally indistinguishable.

Waited 10 mins for a table and despite staff looking at us as they walked past and being told - 'we will be with you in a minute' no-one came to take us to a table. So gave up a walked out. Went to the Ivy instead and the service was faultless. Suggest you go there instead.

Food was very meh for me. I had only a light lunch option, the battered duck, but I still expected something more substantial and tastier. Could not taste any duck, just batter. Overall bland. My friend's meal was slightly better, admittedly. I would consider a more substantial meal next time, like a burger or a steak, were I to come again; but, based on this why would I when there's tons of other places to try. Oh, and there is a sneaky surcharge for a tip that I wasn't consulted on: what is this, America?!

We had a wonderful family lunch at Bill's in Norwich. On a short break we needed somewhere that would satisfy all members of our party and of course Bill's with it's varied menu ticked all the boxes! Burgers and brunches were enjoyed by all. Service was prompt and friendly and the food delicious. Should we find ourselves in Norwich again we'd definetly return.

Our meal was ok, nothing special for the price, my peas were cold and unsmashed. Why would anyone serve feta cheese with fish? It's weird. A service charge was slapped on, which was a bit much. considering the service was very lacklustre, we had to ask for water three times and my drink was served in a chipped glass. The worst part, that kind of ruined the evening; we were all pretty horrified to see a dog allowed upstairs in the restaurant (bar downstairs, fair enough) The worst part was that the dog then was allowed to stand on the table. Not one member of staff was seen asking them to put the dog on the floor. I do not wish to eat in an establishment that thinks it is ok to allow a dog to stand on the dinner table. It's gross.

Three of us chose the salted caramel chocolate tart, but all swapped the coconut ice cream for vanilla. It was absolutely yummy! One chose the doughnuts with caramel and chocolate dipping sauces. He said he was concerned about the cinnamon sugar being too overpowering with cinnamon but he said it was really subtle and that was pleasing. All in all a fabulous meal for £16.50. Which was even cheaper as I had used 25% discount code! Would highly recommend.

I’ve been to bills twice now, the first being lovely and good food this was around a year and a half ago. I went last month and was left extremely disappointed, the establishment was clearly understaffed, our waitress was flying back between our table and others while we were trying to order/ask questions. The 2 breakfasts we ordered were both disappointing, one chicken bacon pancakes missing the syrup and chilly oil and the pancakes and chicken were complete dry. The other meal being a large breakfast, considerably smaller than last time I had it, the majority of the food was either under cooked or over cooked with the toast only been toasted on one side also the large breakfast was served on the shallow bowl making it extremely hard to cut and enjoy. We were unable to complain as our waitress was nowhere to be found, and we had already waited long enough! The bill for this meal was overpriced, and included a 10% service charge which we had to pay as there’s no option to remove on the screens and our waitress had once again disappeared after handing it to us. Wouldn’t recommend you can get far better breakfasts elsewhere for the money. Shame as the building and interior is lovely

I always pop into Bills when working in Norwich. The staff are genuine and friendly, great service. The food has never been anything less than excellent 👌 Tonight I had the sea bream with giant couscous and green beans along with a glass of Shiraz. I particularly like how seriously Bills take allergies and this gives me reassurance.

Downgraded from 5 stars. My original review below 👇. Since writing my review I have had three meals in a row where I have had to return the food as it was delivered cold. They are clearly struggling with something. Really gutted, cause I enjoyed going here a few times a month, but won't bother anymore. They really didn't seem to be bothered...it was like returning food was second nature to them. Just par for the course. Shame. Original review at 5 stars. ------------------------- While Bills is a chain, it's one of the few where they genuinely seem to run each branch as though they are independent. The staff must get some serious training as they genuinely go out of their way to make you feel welcome and nothing seems to be too much trouble. I tend to want to change my breakfast options entirely, yet they just say "no problem". Kids are made to feel utterly welcomed. They accommodate any and all requests and the food arrives quickly and always tastes way above average. Price is good (especially if you have a blue light card). They don't rush you, but they do get you in and out quickly as they serve the food so fast. Service - exceptional. Food - good. Atmosphere - decent. Overall a very solid option.

I’ve been a few times to Bill’s. Today was the second time they forgot our order and lied about it. The first time the food took over an hour to come and when it did it was cold and congealed. In that instance, the manager was good enough to make a concession. And everyone makes mistakes, right? So we gave them the benefit of the doubt. Today, however, there was no apology. Diners arrived after us, ordered, ate, paid and left and we were still sitting around. But all we received were excuses. “Your food is coming now,” they said, in the same way the taxi company tells you their late driver is “just around the corner” but they don’t turn up for another 20 minutes because they hadn’t even dispatched a taxi to you. The same thing happened here. They clearly hadn’t even cooked our food when we asked why our order was taking so long. And when it did arrive, the food was still mediocre and unpleasant. So if you want to eat at Bill’s, go well before you’re hungry, bring a good book, and prepare to be disappointed.

Dinner was amazing Shortly after we entered we were greeted kindly and showed to our table which had plenty of privacy and was cosy but still spacious We had James as our server who was absolutely brilliant. He joined in on laughs, regularly check in and was making sure we had the best experience possible. We had the appetiser of olives and hallumi, which was amazing to start off with. Went for breakfast. The food was not good. The pancakes were dryer than a nun’s chuff and the ‘big’ breakfast comes with 1 poorly flavoured sausages two slices of tomato and 2 small button mushrooms. We had almost finished the breakfast and they turned up with the drinks. Mandatory 12.5% service charge if you try and pay online by scanning the QR code on the table. Won’t be going back.

Only downside they offered water, so I said yes as a hot day and instead of a normal sized bottle, came out with a 70 cl glass bottle that they charged £4.25!! They could see I was a lone diner so this peeved me little and they really should have offered a smaller size! No way I could for in my handbag either. Bit of a con to make money, other than that a most enjoyable lunch.

We had made a reservation but we were left queueing outside in the rain with no apologies or explanations as to why our table wasn't ready. We were eventually shown to our table some 10 minutes after our reservation time. They were clearly VERY understaffed as there were empty tables everywhere which hadn't been cleared and reset. The staff member who took our order was very polite if a little 'heavy handed ' when slamming the drinks and glasses down on the table when she brought them to us. The food was very tasty and arrived fairly promptly. We also took advantage of a 20% discount off of our total bill which had been emailed to me a few days prior. Overall good food but poor service which was disappointing.. Not sure if I'd return.

Truly wonderful experience and meal. Tom greeted us like old friends and then handed us over to James. James was attentive, absolutely charming, witty and incredibly efficient. Honestly if the food hadn’t been delicious it would have been worth going just for the service. We had a vegan burger and a sea bream plus salad. What a lovely evening. Thank you guys !

Came in on a Saturday lunch time, it wasn’t too busy so we got a table easily. Lovely atmosphere, staff were all really nice and though Food was a little limited it was really delicious. Only thing I personally didn’t like was the level of upselling you make your staff do, it was very obvious and a bit uncomfortable being constantly pushed to have extra sides, extras, drinks etc.

I guess a Biil's is a Bill's is a Bill's (as in: they're all supposed to be the same) but: I had an accident with a full glass of drink at the table and the waiting staff were excellent in sorting it out, very swift, polite and helpful. And they replaced the drink fic, so thanks for that. The place looks quirkier than some in other Bill's I've been to, so that's another bonus.

We both turned up we're seated a dirty table we both sat down for breakfast full breakfast and 1 vegan even though my wife is not vegan the eggs were disgusting all food was cold ask for the drinks to come out with the meal they were cold I expect more from bills they are just too busy to look at the customers all I think about is getting the food out if you want to go and pay over the odds for food you normally go to bills expect a good meal awful awful will not be returning

Lovely breakfast in a very pleasant place. Staff very welcoming and efficient, drinks orders taken as soon as we were seated then food order shortly after. Not much of a wait for the 4 meals which were all cooked to our requirements. Touch pricey compared to back home but still worth it.

Went as a group for Bottomless brunch and all had cocktails with our meals. Our server was very friendly and helpful, but the drinks came slowly. We had to get up and ask someone a couple of times when our glasses were empty. Food was good and the atmosphere was pleasant just struggled with slow service.

Visited Saturday 20th April our children’s nuggets had an awful smell and tasted gone off meal was sent back I had a hippy bowl and the grains had a slimy texture and wasn’t fresh

Absolutely loved our visit. We were recommended to try the Shwarma meal which was delicious. Generous portion. Didn’t really need the fries. Very friendly interactive staff. Look forward to visiting again soon. Speedy service too. We’d booked at the Playhouse so had little time and the were accommodating of that. Very appreciated.

Visited Bills today with a friend for the first time. Lovely atmosphere, food and service were superb, but wasn't till we paid we noticed the 12.5% service charge that had been added!! I queried this with the waitress who said it was optional. It's hardly optional if they don't even ask before giving the bill. She called the manager over who kindly refunded this service charge back to us.

Usually enjoy the food here, but was slightly disappointed with it today. Had to ask 3 times for table water, and 2 times for sauce. Waiting staff were too preoccupied chatting away and spinning the trays than looking over the patrons. The eggs were undercooked, and they got confused if we wanted fries with sausage, beans and fries. Will be a while before we return.

The worst place I have ever been in my life meat was very dry as it was the end of the joint there and looked like it had been out all day with no cover veg was all mushy and cold and gravy was like water my friend and his wife were in there to and couldn’t eat there’s either and left so disgusting I have never complained in my life and would never ever go there again if my wife dishes that up we wouldn’t be together

A cold day outside and rather under heated inside. We sat with our coats on. I had the oyster mushrooms dish. Food could have been warmer and the plate was cold. Meal was very tasty but not particularly ample. Think food is overpriced for what I had. Loo was clean but needs a tidy, peeling wallpaper etc. Very accommodating staff. We understood they were short staffed.
