You are spoilt for choice with lunch options in Norwich but I would happily recommend the Copper Kettle. The server could not do enough for us and met all our extra needs,I like a lot of syrup, what can I say, and the food was more than tasty.

A lovely little cafe, all clean and served lovely food. The staff were welcoming and lovely. A good variety on the menu and when the food came it was delicious. Would highly recommend and look forward to going back.

What a little find this was on a Sunday morning. I’m a very fussy eater, and for fussy eaters they do create your own breakfast, this is great so don’t have any left overs or waste. That made me very happy. Waitress was lovely and friendly. Food came out quick, was hot and all cooked perfect. They also other main meals so will be heading back at some point to try these. But for the breakfasts will 100% be going back. 😊

Went here today due to hearing good things and was not disappointed. Turned up just after 9 this morning and had the Bangers And Mash and it was excellent. The mash was lovely soft and tender, the gravy was thick and almost had a creamy taste to it, the beans were perfectly cooked and the sausages tasted great even through the outer shell was quite hard, i was served pretty quickly after entering and the seating was comfortable and spacious. My negative is that the menu they have online doesn't have the same prices as what they actually charge. My bangers and mash was priced at £10.50 on their website but was actually £11.95 so i'd suggest updating the menu prices on their website more often. other than that i'd recommend this place as it's in the middle of the city and their food and staff are excellent

Unfortunately we were disappointed today. The food was very basic, and not generous considering the price. My apple juice (£3:10) was poured from a carton of concentrate. My friend asked twice for tap water and it never came. It was disappointing too that there was no baby change, I had to change my toddler on the floor. These are easy to install even in tiny bathrooms (think airplanes!) I hope some improvements may be made. The staff were friendly.

I apologise in advance to those who work in The Copper Kettle since I chose to write this review because my experience recently, although not terrible, fell a little bit short of for what I would hope for the price I paid to eat there. I had a deluxe vegetarian breakfast and a coffee. For this I paid £16.65. The service I received was not unpleasant but basic. The environment is clean and tidy. The chairs are modern, upholstered and comfortable but the tables are somewhat uncomfortably small. Groups of four people sitting around two tables look like they do not have enough table space to eat comfortably. There is plenty room for larger tables. It left me wondering why small tables were chosen. The vegetarian breakfast and the coffee were ok. The potatoes with the breakfast were said to be sautéed but looked and tasted to me much the same as basic fried potato slices. The wait for the food to arrive took a little bit longer than expected for a place with very few other diners when I ate there. I don't want to harm the business but I would like to advise those who set prices there that at £16.65 for breakfast and a coffee one expects something more. One wonders if the café benefits from casual tourist shopping in the lanes but loses repeat business from locals. I left wondering where else I can go for breakfast. The nearby market sells breakfasts. If I had gone to Wetherspoons, for the sake of a comparison, I would have spent £8.15 on a large vegetarian breakfast and a coffee. I can buy two large vegetarian breakfasts and two coffees nearby for less money than it costs to eat one in The Copper Kettle. Rent in the lanes must be high, I appreciate that, but to operate in the lanes and to charge premium prices, you really should offer the comfort and luxury of environment, the quality of product and a lively and uplifting service to match. The plus points are the environment is light, clean and tidy and the upholstered chairs are nice. The minus points are that it is otherwise a bit lacklustre for what I paid.

Nice food but could be a bit hotter

We came here for lunch after coming many years ago. We loved it when we came before but we were really disappointed with our visit this time. Our food came to just over £30 for me and my husband and our baby. It was so expensive. £8.00 for a burger on its own and nearly £4 for a Diet Coke. The coffee really isn’t the best. The pancakes were tough and rubbery… not fluffy and small. All portions were small for the prices and we left hungry

Love eating here, food is really nice but I wish they would make the tables bigger. A table for two people barely fits 2 cups and 2 plates. The table is that small that the plates overhang the edges and feels cramped. Please bring back the larger tables you used to have!

I'd been here a few years ago, and it was very good - however when I went back on Sunday, it was better than I had remembered. Meeting a friend here again on Monday. I built my own breakfast, simply delicious. They do all of your faves too though. A decent pot of tea too! It gets very busy, but can only be a good sign, right.

What an amazing little place, exceptionally good coffee and good food. The atmosphere is quiet but friendly and at the moment the Christmas vibe is kicking, and if you are lucky the waitresses might break into a little Christmas dance (briefly).. Speaking of waitresses, they were all very friendly, incredibly professional, and very charming, even complimentary on how young I looked for my age, but I'm pretty sure she was just being sweet..

I had English breakfast and cappuccino The breakfast came with tomatoes that were just canned tomatoes straight from the tin. Imagine the taste. They didn't even bother to cook them The cappuccino was not made with espresso but with filtered watery coffee. The sausage was quite hard and dry. Not the best quality for 13 pounds (breakfast + cappuccino ) which is not the cheapest either. It wasn't a big amount of food either..just one egg, one sausage and some bacon and mushrooms and the raw tin tomatoes.

Beautiful little cafe. The service is always 5 star and welcoming. Priced very fairly. My favourite place to get breakfast in the city

Had lunch and it was yummy, ordered a burger. Restaurant is with simple and light colored interiors, not a huge place but it was full with guests. We didn't waited for table but all tables were soon taken. They took considerable time to prepare food but it was delicious and perfectly cooked juicy chicken. Service was good and servers were quite courteous. Good to mention that this restaurant accepts only cash till 10 pounds.

This little cafe is absolutely lovely, and we just love going there everything we are in Norwich. I would like to try other things on the menu but we always seem to go for breakfast and I just love the pancakes and berries. It's a very small cafe but the atmosphere and the staff are just wonderful...and so is the food. The prices are quite reasonable for the area. It was just a great experience and the food was beautifully presented. I hope you will stop in to try it too.

My wife, youngest daughter and myself were in the city doing some retail therapy and we fancied lunch, after the usual discussion and trying to get one of them to make a decision, we settled on “finding somewhere in the lanes” we found the CK and walked in. We were greeted by a lovely Polish(?) lady who was covering and a very able host she was, we were guided to a table and given menus. I was pleased to see they have an alcohol licence and a surprisingly good selection of beers, wines & spirits. (Though none of us partook). Wife had her normal vegan breakfast, daughter went for a panini and I was tempted by the American breakfast. Drinks were an Earl Grey, something & ginger tea and I had a simple Diet Coke. Food arrived after a short wait and was excellent, I’ll be honest, I struggled to finish it but finish it i did, (Special mention for the sausage & bacon which was very high quality and the fried potatoes which were divine) it was so filling none of us wanted dinner. The bill (for 3) came to £40 which was very good, I left a small tip to say thank you. Overall a very pleasant experience and highly recommended, just remember that American breakfast is a challenge to finish. American breakfast included: 2xBacon 1xsausage 2x eggs (How you want them) Mushrooms 3xpancakes (American style ) Fried potatoes Maple syrup Fruit compote Choice of toast or fried bread.

Really lovely place. Visited for breakfast and was not disappointed. Pancakes with bacon, blueberries and maple syrup were wonderful! Good coffee and excellent service. Would visit again.

Absolutely terrible first experience. I came in and was just starred at. No greeting. No hello. I asked if they were service breakfast, and it was short answers. I was looked down on because maybe I’m wearing casual attire, who knows? I asked to sit down and they tried sitting me at a table, with no room and a single chair - I had to force the table across just to sit down. This is the most unwelcome I’ve ever been to a cafe, I don’t write reviews usually but I had to just leave. Never felt so ostricised in my life! It’s a shame, because I run a vastly large business network and you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover!

Lovely place, affordable and delicious breakfast - fast and friendly service!

Lovely and quiet spot within the heart of Norwich. A small cafe with a lot of love that's been put into it and that's shown by the staff and how well they look after their customers and the establishment itself. The food was good, I opted for a breakfast of which they advertised having local ingredients for the bacon and sausages so that's always great to see, was hopeful that this would extend to further ingredients too such as the eggs but unfortunately not in this instance. Whilst I say the food was good, on this occasion it wasn't anything special, the speed which it arrived at was impressive, but that does lead me to wonder how it was ready so quickly and the methods of cooking some of the ingredients, there wasn't a selection of white or brown bread and some of the items were fairly basic such as the mushrooms. The staff have done a great job of creating a welcoming and pleasant environment to either meet with friends for a coffee, or simply to grab yourself something to eat away from the business of the city and it shows! Overall I would absolutely recommend both visitors and residents of Norwich to check this place out for a quiet breakfast/lunch or even a later meal too which I've yet to try myself. The price is very slightly on the high side for what you get, but everything seems to be nowadays anyway so it's definitely acceptable. I'll certainly be coming here again in future as it does everything it needs to do and what you expect from a nice local cafe.

Thought to give the coffee chains a miss and grab a cup here instead. Bit disappointed to see ingredients arrive from the tesco express up the road. Sausage sandwich, bacon sandwich, watery apple juice and a very small coffee over £16. Did not leave a tip but here's one ... If you're selling stuff from Tesco don't walk through the front door with it.

Not sure what’s happened but the quality was no where near what it used to be. Has the manager changed? We found the pancakes were hard; not fresh, as if they had been heated from frozen, and the chips also seemed reheated, dry and hard. It used to be great. We won’t be back.

Order through just eat. After the app saying driver waiting at restaurant for ages and half an hour before they closed I rang to find out if everything was ok with order. They said they knew about the problem mad they had given it to a driver half an hour ago, then a second rider turned up. They said we close soon so won’t be able to deal with my order. I asked if they knew about this half an hour ago why would they not call me and let me know? They didn’t have an answer. They could have just called, I won’t order from them again

Came for a breakfast as we have walked by on many occasions and said how lovely it looked but usually we have 2 children and a pushchair so avoid it as its a small building. Today we were child free so decided to pop on. Friendly welcome into the restaurant. We sat at a window table and the tables are quite small so once you have your food and drink its quite a squeeze. The restaurant area was fresh and clean. Just as we were about to order we saw a small handwritten sign behind the till area stating 'Cash Only' at present. Unfortunately we only carry card so once ordered my partner had to dash to a cash point to get cash to pay. Drinks were promptly brought out to us and were nice. I must add the drinks are VERY expensive for what they are which is strange as the food is somewhat reasonably priced considering the city location. Food came out and was well presented. Decent portion size too. We asked for some sauce which the waitress forgot about until the next table asked for some as she brought it over. Wish we hadn't asked though as it was very cheap packet sauce and was disappointing on a lovely breakfast. Overall we enjoyed the food and wouldn't rule out a returning visit.

A Norwich staple. Independent cafe still going strong. Right off the market place. Great menu selection of different breakfasts and hot lunches, jacket potatoes and hot drinks (+ alcoholic drinks) Staff always polite and quick service. Yes, there is a review complaining about the high menu prices - but cafes need to cover costs and do we need to cherish our independents or ... just another 'over priced' COSTA!?

Went to get breakfast and the place refused to accommodate for children, so they had to have full size adults drinks and breakfasts as they did not have a child’s breakfast menu, craziness! We ate…. But only because we were starving! The waiter didn’t know what was dairy free… he said hollandaise sauce was….it isn’t!! Also couldn’t make a latte or anything with almond milk… only could accommodate a “black coffee”!! Won’t be returning anytime soon! Very poor service!

We had a spontaneous visit into the Copper Kettle on a Saturday evening. Tried the Stroganoff which was great. They had a very nice Russian beer too, Baltika 3. And of course we tried some vodka, which added to the experience. Fair prices, good options, just a lovely experience overall. Would recommend. Only fault is the portion sizes were a bit small so was still hungry afterwards. But worth it for the experience

Last time we was here, was 2 years ago. The staff were lovely then. Now reviewing again after going in with my husband and sister for breakfast. The place was busy (which is nice to see). We ordered 3 breakfasts but only received 2 of them. According to the waiter "they forgot". How can you forget IF ITS WRITTEN ON THE SAME TICKET. (My sister and me received ours, husband never got his, the waiter even looked at us and smiled, 3 people and only 2 plates brought out). The table next to ours got their order. We got a sorry and was told that the drinks would be free, but that's not the point. The coffee tasted burnt. Won't be coming back again. Service has really gone downhill.

Delicious breakfast and friendly staff, nice atmosphere

This is the best fry up I've had in years. I'm always disappointed these days by fry ups in restaurants, but I had the Vegetarian deluxe and it was ace. The other dishes I saw were good as well.

Respful staff, but not very pleasant food experience. I had a summer fruits smoothie and an American style breakfast. The pancakes were too moist and leaking syrup on all the other food on my plate. Only one sausage was given and the mushrooms weren't nice but the toast was too wet from the butter. The bacon was also not the most flavoursome. Overall, I didn't enjoy my food or my smoothie but the rest of my party enjoyed their food.

Machine coffee- not fresh coffee. sub standard breakfast- could make a better one at home easily. American pancakes did not taste nice at all, the berries slightly disguised the flavor. Nothing like American pancakes. 5 small pancakes. but Nice staff Nice decour

Been down the street where this Cafe is and never tried it. Considering this was our first time in Norwich since the pandemic started we looked around firstly where we normally use to eat, that was closed so we moved on and found this place. How pleased we were, we were welcomed in and offered track & trace, then asked where we wanted to sit.We ordered pot of coffee and a fresh orange juice. The coffee pot held 3 large cups, and was very tasty, this was £3.50 the orange juice was huge and again good value.We both had medium breakfasts which were nicely cooked, and served up in the expected time span.The two ladies who run the place were so friendly and polite. Demonstrates that if you have a business mind customers will return and that will be us.

Just off the Market Place, this small restaurant is in a good position for visitors to Norwich. Making a first visit with friends we found a restful deco encouraged conversation, while the very pleasant owners could not have been more welcoming. Service is homelike, not ultra-rapid, as the ladies do their cooking, working to order. The mix of English and Russian (Eastern European) dishes was very good, we left clean plates. A well-spent evening.

I was turned away once I had been seated as I only wanted to purchase drinks. Surely my money is better than no money?????

"Could not fault the food!" I had the vegan pancakes and they were very tasty, just the right amount of sauce and berries. I also took my partner who is a very picky eater and he was in love with the fry up, he couldn't find anything to complain about. The staff too were amazing, very attentive

Very close to the main market square this is a nice little cafe. Good service, nice drinks and food and not overpriced. Close to one of the main town centre car parks and within easy walking dist6ance of the shopping areas.

Mi amigo y yo estábamos buscando un lugar para el brunch, pero todo estaba lleno. Nos topamos con el café por accidente y no nos decepcionó. Inmediatamente nos recibieron con una sonrisa y nos dieron una bonita mesa. Mi amigo es vegano y yo soy vegetariano y tenía algunas peticiones especiales. Ambos no fueron un problema y nuestras peticiones fueron atendidas. Definitivamente regresaré y estoy muy feliz de haber encontrado esta pequeña joya.

Este café está en un carril peatonal en el centro de la ciudad cerca del mercado de Norwich. Se toman en serio las precauciones de Covid. Visitamos sin reserva para el desayuno. El servicio fue muy bueno. La comida estuvo bien. Las salchichas eran excelentes, pero la porción frita era pobre, se había cocinado a una temperatura demasiado baja.Era muy caro para un café, pero eso probablemente tiene que ver con la ubicación. Vale la pena una visita

On a boating holiday , looking for breakfast came across this cafe in side street.Lovely American style breakfasts had by all four of us.Friendly service hot food well presented reasonable price overall a winner.

Always enjoy popping into this cafe - either for a simple snack or a good, proper, freshly prepared and home cooked meal. The Fish and chips is excellent, as our the daily roasts.

The staff are really friendly and service is great, but I wasn't blown away by the Full English Breakfast. The sausages are tiny, as were the portions of mushrooms, beans and tomatoes, the toast wasn't toasted (it was closer to bread and butter). There was however way too much sliced potatoes. I think for £14 it was not particularly good value, there are better places in Norwich serving more for less with more balance and quality. I cannot comment on other menu items for quality but they also seemed a little high in price. To sum up, The Copper Kettle is OK, but not outstanding.

Qué lugar tan magnífico es este para el desayuno. Camarera encantadora, muy amable y servicial. El desayuno estaba preparado a la perfección. Tuve el desayuno vegetariano y mi marido tenía el inglés completo. Todo fue tan bueno. Realmente no quiero recomendar este café en absoluto porque prefiero guardarme esta pequeña joya para mí pero merecen reconocimiento. Espero poder conseguir una mesa la próxima vez que vengamos.

Popped in for a coffee to warm up and my pregnant wife decided she couldn’t resist the sight of Nutella pancakes on the menu. They were excellent... from the small amount I managed to pry off my wife’s fork.The girl that served was very chatty, helpful and friendly and was happy to find out if they could change the bananas to strawberries for the pancakes. It was our first visit and a positive experience. They had decaf option for the cappuccino also which was perfect for my wife.

I enjoyed a cheese omelette made with 3 free range eggs. It came with a salad and a generous amount of chips. The service was quick and friendly. Thanks.
