Raffles in Blackpool

cold chips been reheated :( chicken breast # where from cheap nasty unrecogniseable to chicken :( forget it not worth the review or my time

This is one of the best chippies in blackpool! It does not get enough recognition! I have never had a bad meal, always great service from the owner who is passionate about what they do, also the price is good

What an amazing little fish and chip shop, run by a lovely couple, I’m not from Blackpool but we were having 3 days there to see the Christmas eliminations, as soon as I walked in this chippy I knew it was going to be special placed my order and was asked if I wanted my batter fin or thick never had that service before, even got the fish out and asked if it was cooked enough, how good is that 👍 and most importantly it was delicious the best I’ve had up to now, glad I had to go there now to collect a calendar 😁

Best chippy in the town. I read a terrible review on here and can only guess it was malicious post. The chips are particularly awesome in taste! The portion sizes are fantastic! I always have the lightly battered fish and chips and it 10/10. Personally I think it beats the Cottage and Yorkshire Fisheries and I’ll admit their both great chippies but chips aren’t as nice as Raffles!

After hearing really positive reviews we decided to give Raffles a try yesterday. We passed 5 other fish and chip shops en route! We were greeted very warmly by all the staff, such lovely people. Ordered lightly battered cod and chips and cod in a barm cake. The portion size was huge! Everything just cooked to perfection, we were even asked if we would like fresh lemon on our fish. Raffles you’re now our fish and chip shop!

Fantastic chippy, really friendly staff always got time for a chat. The fish was HUGE! I thought they’d given me a whale!

I have been to every chippy in the Fylde and Raffles fish & chips are the best bar none and the portions are great, the service is great Ian is one of the nicest blokes I have met and can’t do enough for you, I really can’t understand some of the negative comments on here,

good fresh comfort food. We have been once a month since we discovered this little chippy. Great service, friendly faces and delicious food. Cant ask for more.

Worse Fish n Chips I have ever eaten. Called in on my way home from work for 2 fish n chips for my partner and I. All I can say waste of money they went in the bin. All cooked in beef dripping (yak) nothing crispy all soggy. Worst of all frozen fish!! Why when there is Fleetwood on your doorstep with plenty of fishmonger's supplying fresh fish daily. Normal use Taylors or Harrowside they are so much nicer.

Went in for chips and sausage, And becuase they fry in PORK LARD, the chips all conjeel together like a solid lump, pretty disgustin to say the least.

I went to raffles tonight after being recommended by a friend. Thank God they did. The portions were large and the price was very reasonable. I was asked how I liked my fish (normal batter or light batter) and when I got it home it was lovely. The staff were friendly and even waiting for my food to be cooked the time flew by. I will definitely be back.

The owner has got serious personal hygine issues. The skin on his face is peeling and dropping off into the food like a snake sheds its skin.

When you get the chips home they come out in a clump. Stuck together as the lard he frys them in has started setting like cement.

Wow got recommended to this chippy and what a mistake , worst fish and chips ever, fish was dripping in batter and well over cooked so it you couldn’t even bite into it , there was a mountain of creasy weird tasting chips , took 25 mins when ther was no que so we though these will be amazing and what a waste of money , avoid at all cost !!!

Sadly unimpressed with this chippy. I asked for a lightly battered fish - it wasn't! The actual fish was ok but there was so much batter it was off putting. The chips were awful, while plentiful they stuck together in a hard mass tasting like the last few bits usually do. Managed one chip butty out of the pile so disappointed. The service was quite slow given the shop was quiet and the prices aren't the cheapest. Sorry, I won't be returning

I saw this place on the web and read the reviews, so I though I would give it a go. I am so glad that I did. to say it is value for money is an understatement, if you have a big appetite get the regular fish and chips, a regular appetite means go for the small. if you like a lot then go for the large, but loosen your belt. you would not believe how little you have to pay for how much you get. I cant think of another chippy that could better this one. it is a lovely little shop, just a shame it is not big enough to have tables

Expensive, compered to other loacl chippys, and the quality is no diffrent. I find the chips stodgy, and the unbranded pies and puddings not as good as Hollands! The owner think hes called Ian, keeps talking loadly to you like your his mate or something, when really all you want is some food. Its off putting having to stand their talking to him, and his chubby wife, whislt you wait for your food. He charges well over the odds for standard chip shop fayre, so is abviously greedy. I would reccomend St Friary on St Annes Road, same food and cheaper price. Also they cook it quicker and dont keep talking at you, making you feel awkward!

Regular customer here now. It's THE only chippy we use in Blackpool now. Always greeted with a friendly smile and conversation from the staff

Excellent quality fish and chips every time, proper portion sizes and all cooked fresh as you order. Tried over 20 chippys whilst working in Blackpool, this one is the best and most consistent- husband and wife staff it and are very friendly. I always go battered (it’s thick). Lightly battered is probably the equivalent of other shops ‘normal’ batter.

been using this chip shop for 12 years now have tried others when its been closed because owners on holidays their fish is lovely very crispy, and the amount of chips would fill a family of 5 easy, i have tried most of their items and i can honestly say they are the best by far, the owner is a lovely man very chatty and always has a story to tell while you wait for you fresh fish to be cooked fab place oh yes Large fish and chips which is huge is only £4.50 you couldnt get that price any better

This shop is one of the most expensive chippys in blackpool. £1.50 for a jumbo sausage ... everywhere else its £1.00 They buy a box of 50 for £7.00 how can they justify £1.50 thats pure greed. Also the fish fryer, is always burning the fish as he is constantly talking in his loud dultry voice. He chats absolute tripe, and fails to realise that his customers dont want to hear his loud mouth whilst stood in his pokey shop. Their are better places to go, ie. Grassmere rd chippy. much better.

Where do I begin? the potato scallops were by a mile the most expensive and the most vile ones I have ever had they cost 90p each which is nearly 3 times more than many chippies charge, but I could have accepted that if the quality was excellent but sadly those scallops were not even poor never mind excellent they were absolutely vile the batter was like a kind of spongy leather texture that was so thick that some was not even properly cooked the potato was like an orangey rust colour the taste was sick making needless to say they went in the bin, next the mushy peas just edible but very mediocre, now the chips and to be fair they were ok not the best but ok the only part of the meal that was anywhere close to being half decent and unlike the other 2 most of the chips stayed out of the bin, now I don't say any of this out of malice for the owners it is a totally genuine review and indeed the people that served me were both lovely friendly people and I so wanted to like there food but alas they need to up there game big style chippies are a hobby of mine and raffles would not even get into my top 200 never mind top 10 for anyone interested the best potato scallops in blackpool are at sams chippy on Dixon road also half the price of raffles, the best overall chippy in blackpool is Yorkshire fisheries world class chips it's on topping street, best overall chippies in the fylde area are dawsons in Kirkham great all rounder and lovely staff and thornton fisheries thornton wonderful chips world class peas but awful staff.

Este servicio fue de primera clase, muy servicial, la comida era excelente, el desayuno era realmente encantadora, con mucho para elegir en el menú, que el ambiente fue muy acogedor nada molesta a mucho. Los propietarios eran muy serviciales y nos aconsejó dónde ir mejor espectáculos, etc.

used to be one of Blackpool top chippy s but not anymore cold chips warmed up fish need a top fryer to get it back to what it was the salt and viniger is okay

Piping hot. Big portions. Freshly cooked. The Yorkshire Fishcakes are to die for! Great staff. Love it!

A local fish and chip shop that as got to be one of the best in the area everything is all freshly cooked while you wait crispy batter staff are all pleasant.

Yo vivo localmente en Raffles y puedo decir con toda sinceridad que lo uso con frecuencia. He vivido en y en torno a Blackpool durante años y este es el mejor "fish and chips" alrededor. Las patatas fritas "fish and chips" adecuadas y todo es fresco. Los propietarios Ian y Eileen son muy amables y se puede decir que les encanta correr la tienda. Nada es demasiado problema en el lugar, que le consejo popular para ir como cerca de apertura como sea posible para evitar las colas!

If you want great fish n chips,filling up and feed two people for less than a tenner then take a trip to here.Fantastic friendly staff who cannot do enough for you.Great banter in the shop while you wait for stuff to be cooked then a fantastic freshly cooked fish n chip to devour afterwards.Will definitely be back time and time again.If you are visiting Blackpool and want a quick fish n chip takeaway then drive to Ansdell road near Bloomfield Road (Close to Blackpool FC) and call into Raffles.You won't Regret It.

Todo preparado a pedido es un lugar limpio, agradable la comida siempre es buena siempre me preguntó cómo le gustaría que su pescado cocinado por ejemplo levemente maltratada siempre se puede decir un buen "fish and chips" por las colas fuera

Nos detuvimos en están camino de vuelta de B&B.; Parecía muy bonito por fuera y eso fue nos atrajo. Sólo tuvimos algunas bebidas y estaban bien. Es una pena que no es un lugar muy concurrido\ ya que es muy bonito.

Esta "fish and chips" es fabuloso! Todo está preparado caliente y fresco, vale la pena esperar un poco, o puedes teléfono y tienen todo listo. El pescado y las patatas fritas son hechos desde cero en el lugar, no se han comprado en listo para freír como en tantos lugares en Blackpool, y realmente se puede explicar la diferencia. Los precios son muy razonables y las porciones generosas, el menú es enorme, y el propietario hará todo lo posible para hacer las cosas exactamente cómo quieres. El personal es amable y acogedor, y nada es demasiado problema. La tienda es impecable. ofrecen grandes ofertas y niños raciones especiales ponen al mediodía. Me he convertido los otros chicos de trabajo a este lugar y una visita se convierte también. Este lugar se establece como punto de referencia que todos los demás falla cumplir.
