Hello Newcastle! First beer of the my Hadrians Wall Path hike!

Like this place. Stumbled upon it

Popped in for an hour one evening, good Ales polite staff... Rather enjoyable..

There was a very drunk man knocking deinks over and still getting served

Was going great til the karaoke started, then hot even better. Belting night, don't go if you've got work then next day.

Cheap pint.. Good meeting place off thd train

Great pub, always visit here on a night out, cheap jager bombs to get things going 😀

We fancied a Guinness, but Rafferty's no.29 is not the place to be. Poorly tapped and not creamy at all. Beer killed me. There was no music, the tipsy regulars shouted back and forth at the barmaid, who was nice. Toilets were in need of maintenance and the floor was very sticky. Wouldn't come back here. Shame.

class service were nothing but lovely. do a free shot with your drink with student ID and are cheap

Emma was lovely told me and all my friends about the student offers and the shot of the week deals she stood and spoke to us and had crack for a while was a lovely experience

A rare Cheers type bar in the city centre. Staff are brilliant.

Was only in for 1 pint of guiness. Unfortunately was poured as it was a pint of larger, wasn't left to settle maybe down to experience.

Big group of us, barman kept over charging us on purpose. Called him out. Wont be going there again. Shame. Decent place.

Unbelievably a treble is cheaper than a double! Always friendly staff! Been going there for years but only just remembered to write a review! It helps if you're skinny in the gents toilets 😁

Not nice.....you just feel out of place. Beer not nice I only had a half but left it as didn't tasted good....won't be back...

Been going in there 40yrs off and on, friendly and cheap drinks, always good crack

Very cool, laid-back place. I stopped in on a weekday afternoon for a few pops, and stayed for quite a few more than that. There's a jukebox with a good selection and it gives you like 4 or 5 plays for a pound. Nice! I think the jukebox has an internet connection for downloading still more songs, if you need that. Check out the sign on the jukebox - I love it.

Had a great time after watching Newcastle United at St James Park and a few locals invited us to back for a few drinks and banter. Everyone welcoming inside, especially as we were visitors from Northern Ireland and non NUFC fans. Bar staff very friendly and smiling 😃

Staff very nice and friendly treble vodka for a fiver whats not to like. Never been there before but would Definitely visit again. Pretty quiet as it was saturday afternoon but it was a really good place to sit with friends and have drinks.

The atmosphere was great, but watch the bar with their minimum spend of 5 pound!!

Back lane pub. Was ok. Had a half of lager whilst waiting for a train.was clean and cheap. Opposite central station in pink lane. No complaints from me.

I ordered a drink at the bar, they opened and then told me they have a minimum of 5 pounds for card otherwise it has to be cash, then i asked for two pints and they only sold me one because they wanted to close soon of they didn't get more clients, then after less than 30 minutes they asked me to finish my drink faster because they wanted to close, and by the end, a drunk guy was trying to fight the staff so... Not best experience :(

Used to love this place but not the same at all, music far too loud even staff shouting to talk to each other.

Decent Guinness, not much atmosphere and smells of smoke. Great value though

Do not recommend. Staff are very rude. The older lady behind the bar is drinking her sorrows away whilst treating customers with zero hospitality. The last time I was there the young bartender girl was drunk on shift and flouncing around the venue like it was a playground. Regrettably I asked her if she was still on shift as it was my round, the young girl broke out like a thunderstorm in uproar and so we decided to leave.

Cheeky little hidden away pub took some pals there because the nugget who's birthday it was took is to D&P ... And D&P is the pits Cheap pints , actual glass pint glasses , only a couple stinky looking customers 4* because they had some sort of chastity device on the hot taps in the toilet

Good bar for karaoke on a Thursday and Sunday evening. It can get quite busy on match days. Staff are friendly, drinks are cheap, plenty of room/seats in the bar. Toilets could do with a bit of an update but the rest of the bar is fine!

Love it or... love it. I love it. I always have a good time at R. Great location, good prices, 2 rooms to choose from... I have lots of memories from here and all great. This place have won 5 stars for me 16 years ago and lots has changed, but I still come back here when I am in Newcastle.

It was awesome we really enjoyed our self can't wait till we come back to raffertys brilliant staff and the karaoke was fantastic

Dive bar but good to go with the lads when you're trying to avoid millions of drunk students

Could do with decorating, but most People who drink in there are returning customers so its not an issue, staff are spot on. Work really hard for there money 💰

Absolute love Rafferty's, like no where else to drink in the town, pints are cheap during the week and its got a amazing jukebox and a fantastic atmosphere! Its just like a local pub but in the centre of town they take care of their regulars! 10/10

No bad pub. The notice on the jukebox saying if you put dance songs on they will be skipped is unnecessary.

The staff were friendly and really helpful and the food was spot on

Rafferty"s is a constant.When you walk through the door you wonder if you've come into the wrong pub, but after a minute or two it always feels like your local. Good prices, friendly staff and regulars, we never go to a concert on Tyneside without calling here first to set the mood. The added bonus is you have two bars to choose from. Enjoy.

Sadly the Guinness was undrinkable from both it's bars from a pub I drank in since 1984
